Official ‘Twilight’ Synopsis Sadly Lacking In ‘OME!’ Exclamations

You can go to MTV and comment on what you think of Summit’s Plot Synopsis…

To give you a peek behind the scenes, we’ve posted it after the jump. Give it a read, Twilighters, and then let us know how you’d summarize 500 beloved pages of text into a paragraph. Would you do it differently?

TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother remarries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Intelligent and witty, he sees straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than a mountain lion, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands — and he hasn’t aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he’s immortal. But he doesn’t have fangs, and he doesn’t drink human blood; Edward and his family are unique among vampires in their lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for — a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre), the Cullens’ mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her?

  1. It’s pretty obvious that whomever wrote this did not read the books and I find that really annoying. Why doesn’t Summit at least make all their people read the books- they’re a quick read!

  2. Well, what bothers me is that it says the nomadic vampires come to town to look for her, because that’s not true. I also think they might be giving away too much, but I guess most people who see the movie will have seen the book, so thats alright :)

  3. I thought it was okay…
it was kind of robotic in the way it was written. Definately doesn’t sum up the amazingness of the story. I agree with Tava, it doesn’t seem like they’ve read the books.
Jessica, i noticed that too! i think they changed the nomads to make the opposition a little more tense. It’s different if they just show up and decide to kill Bella than if they already hate each other and they wanna get Bella because of that… weather it helps or hurts the overall effect, i can’t quite tell :P

  4. And they say that Renee sent Bella to live with Charlie, another mistake.

  5. what’s the deal with this…
1st bella was not “sent” to go to Forks by Renee she
said she wanted to give Phil and her mother
    space

2nd James, Victoria, and Larence are not “mortal
enemies” of the cullens they are just nomads
that happend to stumble upon the baseball
game at the end of twilight

i once said not to long ago that whateva happens in the movie will be fine but this is NOT okay…
anyway… kristian stewart and robert patson are awsome!~

  6. Yo, ummm people, i think his last name is spelled PATTINSON. Yeah. I don’t think the cast is to good. It could have been worse, but they had a different Edward before Robert, and he looked more like an Edward. He was cuter (in my opinion) and He looked like he was born in 1901. MUCH BETTER! but they fired him or something. And Kristian Stewart is SO not a Bella. Her and Robert have the Chemistry on-set, but on the screen, i don’t think so. She’s not a great actress either. Now, i’m not trying to be mean, but they could have gotten someone better. But she definantley DOES NOT suck. And i hate that they run over treetops in the movies- but when really they go on the couch. Yup. and Emily isn’t even in Twilight yet. Doesn’t make sense. Oh well, the movie won’t be as good as the book, but it’ll still ROCK!

btw- i’m not trying to be mean or a butt. I’m just expression my opinion

  7. AND I totally agree with Tava, Jessica, and Vikki!! The Cullens and Victoria, James, and Laurent ARE NOT mortal enemys. and they don’t come looking for Bella. They come upon her when she’s with the Cullens while they are playing baseball. And Bella WANTED to go to Forks, so Renee and Phil could have some space. Her mom didn’t send her- actually Renee didn’t want Bella to go!

  8. Actually its KRISTEN not Kristian. i thnk i already read that plot on IMDb, but all of you were correct. rene didnt sent bella to charlie and the nomads are not the cullens mortal enemies. its just as if the writer of the plot didnt read twilight.

about the character, i think they were fine and they didnt fire their first choice of edward, it is just that he is already 25 yrs old and his face is not fitted for seventeen..

  9. I’m not sure how I feel about Twilight as a movie, even though I love the book and have read it twice. The story is much better off left to the imagination; it’s no fun to see everything played out without being able to take part! One movie that got it right lately is Let the Right One In. I was lucky enough to catch a pre-screening last weekend and it is seriously one of the best horror films I’ve seen in a while. It’s got everything: vampires, a coming of age plot, romance, a serial killer, and Sweden all rolled into one. Check out the trailer: http://sixshooterfilmseries.com/
