Twilight Series Theories - Your Source for Twilight News and Speculations Thu, 22 Mar 2018 09:05:22 +0000 hourly 1 By: Elizabeth a.k.a Elizelizer Wed, 09 Jul 2008 21:53:35 +0000 I agree with Toni Sifonte…her theory is very, very similar to the one that I submited to Supporter Speculations last week. When I heard it on the podcast I just about flipped. Cant wait to find out what happens.

By: The REAL Mrs. Edward Cullen Sat, 05 Jul 2008 01:14:17 +0000 Jane Eyre, I think. Remember, its LOOSELY based.

Basically, Jane Eyre is about a girl that thinks little of herself yet falls in love with a man above her in every way. He by some miracle loves her too, although he cannot see the differences she does between them. He proposes marriage to her, and she accepts, although she is troubled by his showering of gifts on her. She believes it only makes the gap greater between them. When they are at the altar, about to be married, a big secret comes into light and they do not get married. She leaves to live with relatives, and he endures great sufferings. In the end, she comes back, and finds he is blind and missing a hand, therefore evening them out and making them equals, where they marry and live happily ever after.

If that doesn’t make sense to be a loose plot outline for BD, I don’t know what does. I don’t think that Edward will become disfigured or anything… I think that he will bite Bella, therefore creating her as an equal. Also, I forgot to mention, in the middle, when Jane leaves Edward (Rochester), she gets unwilling romantic attention from some guy (her cousin? If I remember correctly…) which fits Jake in.

I think it makes alot of sense… Plus, I believe SM has alluded to the fact that BD will end happily, how the readers want it. 98% of the fan base is Team Edward, and I don’t think SM would create a four book saga about vampires to have her heroine end up with the werewolves. Also, the spanish editor of Breaking Dawn said that the book is full of passion, surprises, etc, but also suffering. So… Thats my opinion. Jane Eyre. I think it most likely. Can’t wait for BD!!!

By: Kelli Fri, 04 Jul 2008 02:59:10 +0000 My best friend said someone on here had the idea, and I agree with them, that the other book might be “Peter Pan”. I haven’t thought about it too much, but Peter will never grow up and live forever, so does Edward. Wendy had the choice to stay with him amd also never grow up, so does Bella. It definetly has it’s possiblities.

By: Helen Wed, 02 Jul 2008 15:43:43 +0000 hello i am going to answer the question of the week and then share something that i thought of today. first of all i think it will be jane eyre for the second story. now i was thinking today about the b.d. and i think i am on to something, the enemy is going to be marie i think thats her name she was the quenn of the newborns so to speak, so i think she will come back for jasper, remember he said he just walked away, no fight. now she will use bella as a pawn to get to him. so midsummer aspect would have the love triangle of alice/jasper/marie. so bella is the pawn on the cover, marie is the queen and any or all of them will die except for e&b and a&j because steph said she has a detailed outline of a book 5 that is not midnight sun and those 4 names are the only ones she mentioned

By: lo carr Wed, 02 Jul 2008 06:25:34 +0000 ok. so meyer has used pride n prejudice, romeo and juliet, wuthering heights..the classics:shakespear, austen, bronte. which makes me think that the next story she uses will also be a classic and not contemporary given her previous i think it crosses out the books that have been written in the last i dunno 50 years…like harry potter, tuck everlasting. so i was thinking, what other author that is a classic has she not used, which led me to dickens which then leads me to great expectations. i just think that the ending could be applied to breaking dawn. i havent analysed it deeply but i think theres a possibility..i also like jane eyre as a possibility.but i just hope that edward doesnt have to be maimed or for time to laspe before bella returns to him the way rochester had. (remember the burning..losing an arm and being blind) that would blow!!!!!!!!!

By: Kat Wed, 02 Jul 2008 01:14:13 +0000 I believe that the tuck everlasting is a far fetch scenerio due to the fact that for it to relate to that she would still have to be considering and pondering on choosing whether to stay mortal or become a vampire with Edward.
And the harry potters can we all say WTF harry potter is not a love story in the least maybe like 2 to three chapters worth with ginny weasley okay think before you write.
With the accusations of having Romeo and juilet be the second book for breaking dawn has already been played out from the second book she is not going to do two shakespeares in one book. little cliche.
With the jane eyre and through the looking glass are probably the best choices due to the fact that lewis carrol and charlotte bronte are both in lists of stephanie meyers inspirations and both can relate to the ending of the series for breaking dawn. and please don’t relate this to harry potter!!!!!!! >_<

By: irrevocably_intoxicating Wed, 02 Jul 2008 00:29:42 +0000 i posted this on the forum too.

maybe a book more similar to MSND. but i can’t think of anything with love potions….OME except Tristan and Isolde. but that is WAY to much like R&J and we already had that.

but here was a llove potion in T&I, and i don’t think it was Isolde, but Tristan that had the two loves, with the Irish Isolde and the Isolde of the White Hands.

no…..there was the King that Isolde was won for. and then Tristan who she fell in love with through the potion…and even though she was with the king she was still inlove with Tristan secretly and ended up with Tristan in the end because i’m almost postive the king dies. and she was really unhappy with the King.

BUT comparing that to the cover Isolde would be the queen, making Bella the queen.

but would her Tristan be Jake or Edward? or would one be the King?

oh man….this is good. read the book. theres actually several books. but i read one that was a trilogy. the movie with the cutie in it was thourghly horrible. so don’t watch it….

-Isolde goes off on her own and is living in a Leper’s den thinking that Tristan is dead (she’s not a leper thought)

-when he comes back (which he does) his appearance still has youth, like he hasn’t aged much. (I’m guessing that they’re around like 20 when they fall in love and 50ish at the end of the book)

-Isolde looks old and has aged a lot.

(but this was just in the version I read and there are a more than a few versions of this story)

so i’m thinking that maybe Bella will go with Jacob (NO NO NO NO NO!!!!) and then Jake will die or something or imprint and she’ll be like 25ish and Eddie will come back and they’ll live happily ever after.

By: Laura Wed, 02 Jul 2008 00:27:04 +0000 I read the wizard of oz thing and my friend suggested the same thing not with that book but that that might happen and yeah it cant or stephanie meyer is going to have a lot of sad crying fans, myself included lol. The other book I am praying that it is not is Hamlet, that would ruin my life unless Bella and edward lived 😀

By: Kelly Tue, 01 Jul 2008 23:27:48 +0000 Argh! I can’t think of any other books! I’m so obsessed with Twilight, I can’t remember another good book. I do think that Forever Dawn will have something to do with it though…but again, that’s Twilight series!

By: Demi Tue, 01 Jul 2008 15:47:25 +0000 I have never read The Vampire Chronicles but I was looking it up and found some very close simaites with the Twilight Vampires.

By: Demi Tue, 01 Jul 2008 15:44:41 +0000 I think it is The Vampire Chronicles. They are not affected by garlic, crosses, and they cannot be killed with wooden stakes. They preferre human blood but animal blood can also be drunk. They do not age instead they developing very smooth, white skin. A lot can’t turn into bats only the older ones can. They can move very quickly and have great strength and really good senses. Some can have additional gifts like the ability to move matter with the mind and the ability to set things ablaze by the force of will but only very old vampires or ones who have been made or strengthened by feeding on blood that is close to the root of the vampiric mother can. They can almost mimic anything. They are usually attractive. The physical changes are their eyes become bright, their skin pale and reflective, their fingernails like glass, and their hair will grow back during their sleep if it is cut. As they lose all natural bodily fluids, they are unable to have children. They also can have

By: Jessica T Tue, 01 Jul 2008 10:48:38 +0000 To be honest I’m entirely clueless as to what the other story could be,. I do, however, have an opinion about what story it had better NOT be based on…I will smack somebody’s Mama if the other story is The Wizard of Oz and it turns out to all have been a dream! It seriously makes my blood boil just considering the possibility. The scary thing is…it could happen. After all, Bella’s dreams play an important role in the entire series and taking it one step further…Stephenie Meyer dreamed the story herself so it’s possible that she could throw that little curveball at us. Sheesh I can’t get it out of my head now! What if Bella is dreaming all this the night before she moves in with Charlie and she has to decide whether or not to still move to Forks knowing what the future has in store for her there? What would “Phoenix Bella” have though about marrying a vampire and having a werewolf best friend? What if she decided not to go?!?!? I would throw the book through the nearest available window an proceed to throw a full-on, adult tantrum. I can’t think about this anymore, I just went into panic attack mode. I love your show by the way. must…breathe… thinking calm thoughts…

By: bec Tue, 01 Jul 2008 05:07:21 +0000 hey love the show. i think the next book is Jane Eyre.
in eclipse Bella asks Edward about Tanya and his way to silent i think there was something between edward and Tanya. i think there will be a fight over edward. i say Jane Eyre because jane is going to marry Mr Rushwood until she discovers his married to a mental women. i think bella will have to fight for the love of her life. and we still dont know Tanya power………. so there it is i havent read aany others so this is on the top of my head hope you like it bec

By: Sarah G. and Emilee B. Tue, 01 Jul 2008 04:32:19 +0000 Hi, let us just say that we LOVE LOVE LOVE your podcast and if you ever stop them we will cry. Okay, maybe not cry…but you get the picture. I actually got part of this answer from one of my friends who doesn’t have working internet access so she asked me to put it on for her (claps for Emilee B!). We were talking about the Gorgeous Edward Cullen and came up with this.
We think that Breaking Dawn will be loosely based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Tuck Everlasting. We go to school together, and a few years ago we watched the movie and read the book in class. In the story, Jesse Tuck is immortal, having drunk from the fountain of youth. Winnie is his soulmate and must choose between immortality and a regular life. When Jesse needed to leave he left her to face the decision alone.
Sadly, fifty (I think it was fifty…correct me if I’m wrong) years later, he finds her grave, expecting to see her.
I really hope that we are wrong and that Bella will become a vampire and live happily ever after with the Gorgeous Edward Cullen (yes, that is what we call him!). However, we could not just leave it out there unmentioned.
Once again you guys are fabulous and please, please, PLEASE don’t make us cry…no pressure. Haha just kidding you guys are just too amazing and hilarious to make ANYONE even the least bit upset in any way…YOU ROCK!
Kallie, Kassie, you are saints.

By: Laura Mon, 30 Jun 2008 23:56:26 +0000 Sticking with a vampire theme I think that the second book might be The Tale of the Body Theif by Anne Rice, the fourth book in the vampire chronicles. Breaking Dawn is the fourth Book in the twilight saga.

Lestat has been alone for many years now that the coven of old vampires has broken up. His only friend is David Talbot, a man with extreme psychic abilities who refuses Lestat’s offer of the Dark Gift. Lestat is depressed about his vampiricism, and tries to kill only serial killers and other criminals. When a man called Raglan James tracks him down and offers him a week in a human body, Lestat is intrigued. He longs to recapture his humanity in an attempt at redemption. And despite all of his friends’ warnings, he goes through with the process and switches bodies with James – a kleptomaniac.

I think that this may be the second book because we know it has to somehow go with a midsummer nights dream and it could easily. If you replaced David Talbot with Alice you have the phychic Lestat would obviously be Edward judging by the personality and Raglan James would be Alec. Thats where I think a midsummer nights dream would come in. We know that magic is a key elemnt to both stories so instead of it being body switching Alec would have some sort of power possibly making people think tehy are different people (Edward feeling human) or going with a misdummer nights dream makinng people belive they are in love with the wrong person. I know its a long shot but a MAJOR long shot but it could work.

By: Katie Mon, 30 Jun 2008 23:51:38 +0000 First off, you guys are uberspectacular and I adore the podcast.

I believe that the other book is Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell. The reasons behind this belief is that in a section of her website, Stephenie mentions the heroine of Gone With The Wind, Scarlett O’Hara, and her beau, Rhett. Also, there are obvious similarities between the two main characters of both novels. Rhett is whitty, tall, strong, and can seemingly read the minds of the simple-minded upper class acquaintences of Scarlett’s, similar to Edwards ability to read the minds of everyone, excepting Bella. He loves Scarlett and is afraid to directly state it at times, fearing that Scarlett will leave him, as Edward is afraid that Bella will be frightened of Edward’s intense love for her and leave his side. Scarlett and Bella are both strong women who really don’t have a family, have similar relationships with their fathers, and take awhile to realize the love that Rhett/Edward has for them respectively is as intense as the love that they feel for them. Their relationship is that of constant scrutiny and disapproval by most of their acquaintences, as Edward and Bella’s is, and also not a relationship that would be considered normal in their time period. Jacob plays the part in the series that Ashley plays in Gone With the Wind, he is the man Scarlett believes she’s in love with, sadly realizing too late that it is Rhett that is her true love. Hopefully Breaking Dawn will not have a similar ending to this book, for that would be hardly bearable for an Edward fan or a Jacob fan, for the heroine ends up with neither in the novel, but I put it out there regardless. You gals are pimptastic, stay classy. : ]

By: Victoria Mon, 30 Jun 2008 23:35:29 +0000 I think the second story will be Wuthering Heights, like Bella loves to read. Not sure how, I don’t have any idea what it’s about myself. So I don’t know how my theory about what happens will work with it.

And as far as Break Dawn goes, my theory… It’s a little choppy, so bear with me.

Bella and Edward’s wedding date is coming closer, and Jacob is having a lot of trouble dealing with it.

Something happens and it delays the wedding. Like Jacob tries to stop them or something, he can’t stand the thought of Bella becoming a bloodsucker.

The Volturi begin to get impatient while waiting for Bella to be changed, so they start sending warnings and threats.

But, by the end, there is going to be a huge fight between the Volturi, the Cullens, and the wolves, with Bella at the center. She thinks it’s all her fault.

Jacob gets hurt really really really bad during the fight, and can’t heal fast enough, so he starts dying. But, Bella begs Carlisle to change him into a vampire to save him.

So we get a Jacob werepire, vamwolf… a hybrid basically. Super strong, has all the qualities of both races. And he basically becomes the “treaty” that binds the wolves and the vampires together to keep from fighting.

Bella will remain human, and even though it breaks her heart, she chooses the human life, and not a life with Edward or Jacob. Because Edward already wishes that Bella would choose the human life, Jacob feels the same way once he becomes a half-vamp too.

But somewhere along the lines, Charlie finds out what is going on and about the vampires and werewolves and such. Maybe Renee too.

That’s all I have so far. It could get alot more complicated than that. But think of it… if Jacob became the one thing he hates… so he would be a wolf and a vampire… think of it! crazy!

By: Carley (List Gurl) Mon, 30 Jun 2008 22:22:55 +0000 This is acutally something I’ve thought about and I feel that ‘The Phantom of The Opera’ is the second book. Before you think that I’m completely mental, think about it this way, Edward is Erik, a strage and mysterious musical genius who only thinks of himself as a hidious monster and un-natural. Bella is Chistine Daae, the beautiful show girl who Erik (Edward) falls in love with, like Bella she doesn’t see her self very clearly and belittles herself. Jacob is Viscount Raoul de Chagny, the charming child hood friend of Christine (Bella), who is in love with her. Erick falls in love with Chistine because of her beautiful singing voice, as Edward falls in love with Bella because of her smell. (She is his La tua Cantante, which means ‘your singer’.) Sadly, in the end Christine (Bella) is torn between her two loves (Erik (Edward) and Raoul (Jacob)) but elpoes with Viscount Raoul de Chagny (Jacob) leaving Erik (Edward) to die alone and with regrets (but Edward can’t die so he’ll just have to get over it). This is not a very ‘Team-Edward’ Friendly choice, which makes me sad because Bella belongs with Edward, but someone needs to give the posibility of a happy ending for Jacob. Kassie will just have to get over it. Love the podcast keep it up.

By: Danny Mon, 30 Jun 2008 19:33:53 +0000 Stacey M’s theory is amazing.

By: tesa Mon, 30 Jun 2008 19:08:41 +0000 i already wrote about frankenstein, and another thing that i thought of is that the cullens tell bella that she would lose her mind for about a year.
Frankenstein(in Young Frankenstein movie;i’m not sure about the book) lost his mind b/c it was replaced with another brain, but once he got control of it, he was ok.i think the same would happen to bella, only not in such a literal sense.
i was in germany at a book signing, but i didn’t get my book signed by her:( i hope she comes back soon!
