Michael Sheen is AWESOME! I LOVED him in Underworld and hoped they would cast him to be part of the Volturi. I pictured Aro around the same age as Dr Carlislle as I read the books~ so he is perfect. Just because Chris sought after him, I now trust Chris 200% to make New Moon fabulous!! Michael Sheen is so versatile and mega-talented!! Thanks Chris!! I cant wait to see what they make him look like!

He is a very good actor, very versatile. Some people are commenting on whether he looks the part or not. That is important, but I think it’s more important that that he be able to act and make us believe that he is Aro. His past rule are very diverse, so i think he will do a good job.

hmmmm im not sure
hes a good enough actor but i seriously did not picture aro like that but i will reserve full judgement till i see him in costume
however some one suggested alex o’loughlin on ew was how they pictured aro and i totally agree
he would have been perfect!
and he played a vampire in moonlight…
a vampire who fell in love with a human girl but refused to change her… familiar anyone?

ARRGGHH!! Micheal Sheen is one of my favourite actors so i’m so happy he got the part of Aro, i think he will be great, he’s such a great actor and i think he’ll pull of the nice yet deadly way that Stephenie Meyer has written Aro. i kinda hope they (aro, marcus, caius) dont put on fake italian accents, i think as there are already two brits (woooo!!!) playing the volturi leaders that they should keep the british accents as even though i’m a brit myself i still think that our accents can quite easily sound malicious at times if delivered a certain way. i love catherine hardwicke and i adore her film adaptation of twilight but i think that Chris Wietz is gonna do a great job on new moon, i just hope he sticks to the book and i would love him to make it as visually dynamic as golden compass. i really cant wait to see new moon, i even have a count down on my igoogle.

He’s a great actor, I really enjoyed his performance in Underworld and think he’ll make an excellent Aro. I originally had pictured a Bill Nighy (Underworld, Pirates of the Carribean) type for Aro (refined yet deadly) but I can certainly see Michael pulling off the part quite effectively.

I’m looking forward to how Weitz brings New Moon to life. I thought Golden Compass was visually stunning and hope he brings a similar visual adaptation to New Moon, although I was very disappointed with the resolution…or lack thereof, in Golden Compass. I certainly hope Weitz stays truer to Stephenie Meyer’s story than he did Pullman’s.

This is great, New Moon is sure to be a hit with powerhouse actors like this, he was beyond amazing in Frost Nixon and he can definitely pull of the phony nice guy act Aro has. Loved Catherine, but I think she didn’t work hard enough to pull the best performances out of the actors, Rob’s accent slipped too many times, and him and Kristen looked so awkward in most of the scenes I think Chis is meticulous and watches for little mistakes.
