honest …no, when i first read twilight i personaly imagined someone closer to what robert pattinson looks like…this guy is to built , i imagine in my head edward to be toned but small, and a softer youthful yet sharp featured face..robert was the perfect choice …edward is his role! nd i can’t see anyone otherwise

he IS an edward but rob is better. tbh i couldnt imagine him playing edward cullen as an actor but i can imagine him BEING edward cullen. but rob is better!!

I think Rob could be replaceable. If Henry Cavill had been Edward then I think just as many people would have gone completely gone crazy over him. I know I would have if Rob had not been cast. I do think Rob is great for the role, but to me he plays Edward just a little too seriously than I had imagined. But I think Rob is a great actor.

i admit Henry Cavill would have been a perfect edward based on his looks, anyone that is hot as mess would have. but they probably know they are fine, and that wouldn’t have made them a good edward. rob was perfect for the part, because he didnt even think that much of himself to begin with. edward is the same way- they both doubt themselves. and it takes one to be one- isn’t that how it goes?

This is a truthfully answer:
i think any guy would have been loved if they played Edward. (unless they were HORIBBLE) LOL
i come from a view that is Robert Pattinson ALL THE WAY!
but i hated him the first week.
if it would have been Henry i would have become obsessed over him. Just like i am w/ Rob.
and it’s not just cuz of them playing Edward. it’s cuz i love Edward SO MUCH that anyone who can portrays that to me will catch my attention. and now i love Rob, but i love basically anyone so i would have loved him too.or anyone else that played him.

Amy I had to go google David Kross (who yes is hot, but that Gaspard Ulliel would have been a oh so perfect edward!) because i was thinking of David Cross, the comedian from Arrested Development. I cant stop thinking about him all bald in his cut-offs trying to be edward! hehehehehe

Gotta admit, Rob Pattison is not the reason I watched the movie. For some reason, he is not my Edward. However, just from the picture I would pick Henry over Rob. No pitter patter of my heart for Rob, which I know will cause shock to a lot of fans!

Yo, Rob isn’t PERFECT for this role. No one is perfect at acting, except Daniel Day Lewis. No, settle down people; you ARE allowed to say that. ROBERT won’t hunt you down and gut you like a fish if you say, “Mmm, rob, I think so-n-so would’ve made a better Edward. You failed.”

i hate when they replace the original actors when it
comes to the sequels.if rob didn’t star as edward cullen;
theres hardly a reason to watch it.unless it’s taylor lautner
but still i mean rob is PERFECT for the part.theres no

too old? Geeshh…you girls make 26 sound old(my age). I don’t think that age has a lot to do with it, however I do think that rob has a much darker look! Don’t get me wrong, henry is gorgeous, but a vamp definitly needs to have a dark image! I think that rob’s eyebrows really bring in the darkness that is needed to play a vamp!

After reading the books – and having not seen the movie – I did a google image search for “edward cullen” and Henry Cavill came up. My first thoughts? Lip lickingly perfect for the role. Now however, I can’t imagine anyone other than Rob Pattinson – he has really made the role his own. I love his little facial expressions when Edward can hear other people’s thoughts, I love how he did the kissing scenes, and I think that he is perfect to portray Edwards darker moments – after all, Edward is a seriously conflicted vampire with melodramatic tendencies.

I’m Sure Plenty of people could have played Edward. But once he’s cast he like IS edward, so if they cast someone else HE would be edward! If you know what I mean? I’m a Emmet Girl Myself so can’t really decide on that XX
