Book of the Month News: Suzanne Collins Interview

Sep 6th, 2009 | By | Category: Book News, Featured Articles, Movie News

I was thumbing through my issue of Book Page (available for free at many libraries) and found a new interview with Catching Fire author, Suzanne Collins!  In the interview Suzanne states that she herself will be writing the screenplay for The Hunger Games movie.  You can read the entire interview here!

It’s impossible not to ask about the third book and the movie. Will you be involved in any way with the film?
“Yes! The Hunger Games has been optioned and I’m signed on to do the screenplay. I am looking forward to telling the story in a different medium. Of course we will be handling the subject matter very carefully and anticipate that the film will have a PG-13 rating.”

this series is AMAZING! it totally sucks you into the universe of Panem and right into district 12! These books are addicting! Catching Fire was just as good if not better than Hunger Games…i found myself laughing, yelling and crying!

  12. Mrs. Ariana Edward Cullen says:

OMP!!! (Oh MY Peeta) lol jk hahahaha
I just finished reading Catching Fire 10 minutes ago. AND IT WAS AMAZING!! I liked it better than Catching Fire! It had so many twists and action and ahhhh! I can’t even choose between Gale and Peeta; it’s way to hard. They are both so awesome! And I can’t believe we have to wait a YEAR for the 3rd book! I won’t be able to survive. But I hope they start the movie soon. It will occupy me while I wiat XD But Suzanne said that it won’t be until several months before she starts on the screenplay because she has to finish up #3.

  13. Mrs. Ariana Edward Cullen says:

Peeta was taken away by a Capitol plane with Johanna, while Katniss, Finnick, and Beetee were taken by Plutarch Heavensbee and Haymitch in a District 13 plane.

  14. Mrs. Ariana Edward Cullen says:

Oh and I was balling for 10 minutes when I read the part when Peeta was telling Katniss that she should stop trying to keep him alive and keep herself alive because she has people back home that she loves and Peeta has no one 🙁

  15. Gina says:

I LOVE this book series. So glad that Stephenie Meyer recommended it! She has great taste of course!
She also recommended The immortal instrument series and it is also awesome.
    Cant wait for third book!
PG-13 rating: It can definetly be pulled off. LORD OF THE RINGS was PG13 with all those battles (my fav movie ever), you show the battle scenes , you just don’t show blood and gore! and of course, there is no bad language and nothing sexual, only kissing. So it would be great with PG 13 rating. Just like her books, what makes it great is that she leaves a lot to imagination just like Twilight! YAY!
