These collars do not hurt the dog in any way. Get a grip people.

It is rare and frowned upon in any training. It is a last resort and many trainers refuse to use them in their practice because it is an antiquated and sometimes harmful device. Cesar does not put this on all his dogs either. I’m sure he would be very offended to here that you think he does this. I’m sure we are all aware dogs and humans are built differently. You do understand this is painful for the dog, right? It says so in the name. It’s common sense. Nikki seems like a bright girl. I’m sure it will be in the near future that she stops this practice.

A Dogs neck area is not built the same as a human so when you use this device it is not “choking” the dog. Watch Cesar Milan when he trains does, he uses a make shift “choke” leash. His’ motto for healthy dogs “Exercise, decipline, then affection”

If you take your dog to a qualified dog trainer one who believes in humane treatment they DO NOT use this device. For you to back her in this manner is ignorant. You can like a person but you don’t have to encourage inhumane behavior.

That type of collar is only “abusive” if the owner uses it that way.

I hope she has stopped using that device. It is not humane.
