I read this book and the prequel and watched the videos a couple of weeks ago. I love this books and story. Can’t wait for Wolfbane. This was one of my top three reads this year.

  4. Elena says:

I know most people have really been enjoying this book, so I’m probably alone in saying this, but this book was a real disappointment to me. Calla’s character was weak and pathetic and the story seemed more focused on sex rather than the merging of the packs. The story plot was weak and melodramatic. Plus, I found myself hating Shay, who is supposed to be her “forbidden love”. I wouldve rather had Calla end up with Ren instead of Shay. I will most definitely not be reading Wolfsbane.

    • Fay says:

I agree with you on somewhat of a disapointment and not liking Shay. I think he is a good character but I really want Calla to be with Ren they are ment and he needs to back off. As much as I didnt like how book one ended I will be finishing off the series, cause me I always find a way to like the book and ignore the hate in it.

    • Simone says:

I loved the series to be honest, I also found myself hating Shay as well. I REALLY wanted her to be with Ren so badly. And as the series progressed I began thinking that Calla was really slutty and I didnt like that at all. But the new prequel that came out is WAY better and the main female role only has eyes on ONE guy and that guy alone!!!!

  5. Sia says:

Calla is a character I can’t stand ! I too wished she was with Ren but the way she treats him PISSES ME OFF !! Don’t know if I’ll finish this series. Calla is moody and uses people. SHE’S NOT STRONG.

  6. Stephanie says:

Yeah, I agree with the people that didn’t like Calla that much. She was very hypocritical towards Ren. If you all will remember when Ren asked another girl to dance, she got angry and yet she was kissing Shay on the side!

I also did NOT like Shay. He was annoying and always getting Calla to break the rules and lie to her pack. Calla and Ren should be together. They would be great together if Calla just opened her eyes and saw that Ren is trying to reach out to her, to commit to their soon-to-be union!

I hope in the end of the series they are together and Shay is out of the picture.

i just posted my review here

i felt bad about not liking this book much. I started to doubt myself maybe somethings wrong with. Im glad now i see im not the only one who hated shay

  8. Alissa says:

I almost didn’t finish the book, because I also did NOT like Shay. Calla started out as a strong character, but ended up a disappointment for me in the end. I hope by the end of the series, Shay is intended for something more beyond Calla’s ‘Eve’ & her & Ren end up together.

  9. Amanda says:

I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I did feel bad for Ren but its not Calla’s fault for falling in love with Shay. Hopefully Ren will fall in love with someone else. Maybe a new character or even Sabine who has gone through so much herself. I can’t wait till the next book!!! Andrea please keep writing your awesome!!

  10. Courtney says:

I just started reading Nightshade and I don’t think i could finish it. I don’t know, i hate the idea of Calla ending u with Shay I don’t like him. So I guess I’m just gonna look for another book to read. I’ll go back to reading the Nightshade series if I hear that Calla and Ren will end up together.

  11. Megan says:

I didn’t like Shay at all and I said I was going to throw the book on the floor if she left with him and I did, I’m really going for ren he is just the one for her he was meant for her and Shay just came out of no where but I didn’t stop reading it because I never read a book that brung out so much emotion for me and that’s what a good book does plus I’m still hoping they can find a way together, but I can’t give up on the series with out knowing. I guess this is team Jacob fans from twilight felt when Bella pick Edward bummer.

  12. Brittany says:

Spread the word! Ren is competing in the YA Crush Tourney! Vote today and tomorrow as many times as you want! If you love Ren, vote for him today and tomorrow in the YA Crush Tourney! He needs all the votes he can get! http://bit.ly/pKsZRe

    [Spoilers]
I just read Nightshade, and I’m really ticked that Calla practically eloped with Shay. At first I found myself enjoying the book; Calla started out as a respectable person. But then she fell in love with Shay, who I find myself hating. Even if he had feelings for her, he should respect and understand her bond with Ren, who I was totally drooling for the entire novel. I was literally crying when Calla left Ren for Shay, and in the next chapter, she immediately got all down-and-dirty with the aforementioned Shay. I lost respect Calla for the end: she’s a hypocrite and she used Ren. He cares about her, and even though he got close to other girls, that was before the union got close. And Calla was macking with Shay behind his back and still letting him kiss her! WTH? I hope Calla comes crawling back to Ren in Wolfsbane. I’m so mad. Shay doesn’t deserve Calla, and he should have been sacrificed.

  14. Kaylee says:

I LOVED Nightshade. I am reading Wolfsbang right now. I was disappointed when Calla left Ren for Shay. It’s like New Moon. Calla is like Bella, Shay is like Jacob, and Ren is like Edward. Calla loves Ren and Shay. Hopefully when the seires ends Calla ends up with Ren. GO TEAM REN!

  15. Kendell says:

    <3 <3 <3 LOVED IT <3 <3 <3 I REALLY HOPE IT COMES INTO THEATERS!!!

  16. Courtney says:

Well that was a waste of a BN giftcard. This book which at first got my attention became a flop I can’t even bring myself to finish the series because I find almost all of the characters annoying. If i hear one more word about calla feeling all hot and bothered whenever one of the members of her little love triangle touches her I will be sick. I wish I never even saw this book it’s a total flop. Two thumb down for me creamer. Very disappointed.

  17. poprocksrule99 says:

I actually read all 3 of the books and i was vey sad and mad at what happened and i too HATE SHAY DORAN!! Calla after a whille got on my nerves and could not tell Ren her true feelings and thenit was to late….. I wished she would have been with Ren but sadly…… (I do but i dont want to tell you all but by your comments you might not read the rest of the books so…) Well Ren died…. T_T Ren was like my favorit caretor….(however you spell it…)Calla didnt deserve him or his love she just turned away from him to run away with Shay….. She says it was because he was the sacrefice and was saving him….. At that moment she should have jus gone to Ren at that moment an maybe i wouldnt hate her a much as i do bt yea…….

  18. Simone says:

Again I completly agree with everyone of the comments said about Calla. As I keep saying to my friends it pisses me off because she just met Shay for like five minutes and was “Instantly” in love with him. While she has this hot sexy wolf bieng engaged to her and she practically chose a stranger over someone she knew all her life. How screwed up is that!?? And then when she runs away with Shay she still says that she loves Ren… Ummm… If you did love him you wouldnt have ran away with Shay!!!! Ugh I finished the series because even though I hated the plot I never felt so emotionally involved with a book series. But I am happy with the new prequel novels because Ember is NOTHING like Calla at all. She is only loyal to ONE man not TWO!!!

  19. Cassidi says:

I honestly loved the book series. I agree Calla’s a hypocrite, but for those of you that read only Nightshade and hated it, shoulda continued with the series. You would’ve found out why Calla, as an alpha female WOLF was attracted to Shay. For those of you that don’t know wolf behavior, here’s a little lesson on it. Wolves are pack animals, lead by an alpha female and male. If an interloper (or lone wolf) comes around, male or female, the alpha of the opposite gender might be interested, intrigued. The alpha the opposite gender of the interloper might choose the interloper over their mate for a change of pace, or for better genetics, depending on the situation. Yet if the alpha that chooses the interloper sees their mate with someone else, they try to chase off the competition. Apply this to Shay, Ren, and Calla. It’s all wolf instinct that Calla acted on, just saying.

  20. Dakota says:

I read all the series and I thought it was good, but I really hated the fact she left Ren and her pack just to be with some asshole that wanted her to do all these things she wasn’t supposed to do. Calla was supposed to be a strong girl, the alpha of her pack, but in the end her alpha was killed. I just wish her and Ren would’ve ended up together. I hate Shay. I was okay with him at first, but then Calla started being like a slut and kissing and ‘wanting’ him so bad. So good book, good story. Bad ending l. She should have been with Ren.

    • Alex says:

The book was really interesting at first but wen shay came in da pic i got pissed off. I think calla was a strong character at first but she, for me she remained weak til da end. I totally think calla should have been wit ren instead of shay. I so disapointed in da ending so now i totally hate da fact tht i read da whole nightshade series jus to find out a ending i didnt want to b true. I too HATE shay!
