And Film Composer of the Year Goes to: Alexandre Desplat!

A fan of Alexandre Desplat’s score for New Moon?  (I know I am!)  Then you’ll love this news. Variety is reporting that Desplat was named film composer of the year at the World Soundtrack Awards:

“He was named film composer of the year on Saturday evening for his work on ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox,’ ‘New Moon,’ ‘Julie & Julia’ and ‘The Ghost Writer.’  ‘Mr Fox’ also got the nod for best original film score, repeating Desplat’s double last year with ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.’ ”
