There Are Men, of a Certain Age, Who in Fact *le Gasp* Like Twilight

The ladies over at the Lexicon were sent a review of Eclipse that features Mark Kermode, a British film critic for BBC Radio, staunchly defending the Twilight saga which he says is “taking the vampire story back to its Gothic romance roots…It is a melodrama in the best possible sense.”  The review is quite a thing to behold.  One of the best parts  is when Kermode says:

The whole story is about her emotional state and we’ve got to a point where we’ve forgotten that having stories that are based on people’s emotional states is perfectly legitimate.

Kermode is a legend! I met him last year, he is completely crazy but very entertaining! He knows what he’s talking about when it comes to films too. I’m glad he’s on board! : )

There are a lot of closeted older male twilight fans out there. My husband is one of them-in fact-I detested the idea of this saga when he came home bragging about New Moon after he took our daughter. I made fun of Vampires not killing people and all that.
I now hang my head in shame-as I now know the joys of Twilight….
