Suggestions for the New Moon Cast?

This week’s question of the week is a fun one! We would love to know who you think should be cast in New Moon! We also want to make sure that you send in or leave your Supporter’s Speculation about what you think will happen after Breaking Dawn!
Whatever you do please keep the actors that are in twilight for all the movies. I read all four books in 3 days and saw the movie twice, and nothing ruins a movie sequel more than changing the actors it just ruins the entire thing. Frome reading the books I know that there has to be a lot more people added to the films which will make it even better!! Just dont get rid of the actors that are already there. This is the best movie I have seen in ages, and the books well there amazing, I hope another one comes out………WITHOUT KILLING THE CULLENS!!!
I agree. the actors must stay the same there is no way that they can take anyone out especially rob pattinson. i am on page 578 of breaking dawn right now and i can’t stop reading. ive seen the movie 4 times it is absolutely amazing i dont think i will ever get sick of it. since im not finished with breaking dawn so i dont really kno what to predict will happen after but i hope she will finish midnight sun because what i read of it on her website was amazing and made me fall in love with edward even more!
All the actors need to stay the same. It wouldn’t be right if Alice or Emmett was suddenly someone completely different. Since I live in the UK, I haven’t seen the film yet, but it’s still very important to me. So far, all I’ve heard is how crap it is and how disappointed fans are. I have heard some positive reactions, but not many. If people were disappointed with Twilight, and then the actors were changed for New Moon, no one would go and see it.
About post Breaking Dawn speculations, I hope that Stephenie will finish Midnight Sun. After that, I’m hoping for a continuation of the story in Renesmee’s perspective. I also heard that Stephenie will be writing Bree’s story as well. Who knows?!
I agree too. they need to keep everyone from the first movie.
as for future books from the twi-verse, i want Midnight Sun to be released first of all.
after that I hope for a book from Renesmee’s point of view, with Jacob along for the ride.
I also think there is a lot of potental in Jacob’s pack for interesting books as well as the Denali coven.
If she stays with the Cullen family i would also like to see books from each of the couples points of view, Jasper and Alice, Emmet and Rose, Carlisle and Esme.
The Twi-verse has just started and i think there is a lot more to come.
Well.. They should keep the actors, if that’s possible. I hope that they could make it dramatic!

What would happen if Robert Pattinson got older, and they have to find new actors for the part?
i think firstly that taylor lautner should completely be re-cast… along with all of the cullens and charlie!
i think that for quil and embry (along with all of the other wolves) they need to cast people like the actor for sam….. this would be the first thing they do as a big role in acting, i feel like it was better than to have some really famous person.
lastly, as long as I can’t be Bella then next few movies I do hope that Kristen gets Bella again. as much as some of the things she did truly aggravated me, she is bella for me because she was bella in the movie.
also, for the volturi for jane kristen cheneworth (glinda from wicked) should play the part! i feel like her laugh would be perfect and she is really short!

Though Most Say Kristen Chenowith, I Think She Is Waaaay To Old. She Was On The Macy’s Parade, And She Doesn’t Even Look Like A Litle Girl!

Post Breaking Dawn: I’m Proud To Say I Haven’t Read The Midnight Sun Fiasco. I Am Praying For Her To Work On And Have It Published By 2010. I Would Also Love A Book Just In Jacob’s Perspective, Or Maybe Seth Clearwaters. I Think An Eclipse In Charlie’s Perspective Would Be Awsome! I’m Excoted For The Official Guide, It Should Awesome, And Enough To Keep Us Talking For Awhile.
so, i havent seen the movie fully yet coz i am also in the uk, but i have seen a load of clips off the internet. so far i really liked everything that i saw. i think that all the cast is really well suited, and that some of them bring another viewpoint to the characters which is cool. i think rob really went for the depressive edward! as for the new members being introduced, i think jane should definitely be played by Kristin Chenoweth who plays olive in pushing daisies. she is tiny, and blonde and has one of the highest voices ive heard. she could really do the part of jane justice i think. as like any other twilight fan, i would love to see new moon being brought out within th next few years, but that depends on stephenie’s involvement in new moon and of course any new projects. i really hope the movie will be just as a success here as it was in the states, and im definitely going to see it more than once!

Ye, keep the actors, (they’ll get older, but if they change actores, they’ll get even more different, so I dont se the point with changing, well, exept Jake, maybe, if it makes the result better..)
And finish Midnight sun, and we want new books, lol. I liked the movie, (saw it in sweeden, Norway’s running late, really).
Well, in New Moon, it should be ballanced with Twilight, if the movie gives the impressen that Jake and Bella have a really good realitionshop, the Bella-edward thing whould be really wired and stuff. So keep to the dessisions from Twilight movie. ehm, and they should make the time shows a bit more, or it would be wired.
I hope they do keep the original cast, including Taylor as Jacob! I do have to say I like that for twilight they didnt use big name actors. They used people who truly fit the role and I hope they do the same for the new characters in New Moon.
As for after Breaking Dawn, I did read somewhere in an interview Stephenie Meyer did. She said something along the lines of she wouldn’t pick up and finish Midnight Sun anytime soon because she wants all the talk about it to die down. That she needs to feel alone in the writing process again and I think thats true. If the hype for it dies down a bit then hopefully she’ll finish it up.
Also, I read The Host and though Im so not into Sci-fi stuff, the book was amazing (Kassie are you done yet? lol) and I heard there may be a sequel. But that may be old news or hearsay. Stephenie is a great author and has shown she can glide from one genre to another. With that, I dont feel so sad about leaving the Twilight Universe once she has.

Keep all of the hotties whatever you do. Rob especially! That is the hottest vampire I have seen in a long time. Who would have thought that I would fall in love with a vampire myself. No wonder Bella was so weak!
i think that anyone would be great as long as they don’t hate vampires and hate the twilight saga. THAT WOULD BE BAD!!!

The cast of Twilight should definitly stay the same. Maybe not Taylor though.. HOW are yall going to make him be big and bulky??? He is SOO smalll.
Dakota Fanning should without a doubt play Jane. She is not to old, and honestly she is the best to play the part. I mean have you seen her in all her movies. Cast her please. Oh and Jensen Ackles. He is down right sexy when he is a bad ass.
I thought the casting for Twilight was perfect; please dont’t change! And the integrity of the characters’ personalities from the book to the movie, I thought, was near seemless. Needless to say, I was impressed.
i think maybe dakota fanning would be good for Jane, or probably Nora Zehetner (though she is a little old for the part) and…hmmm..
I think all the cast should stay the same, BUT when Jake and Bella are apart for the month or whatever it is and then she goes to his house because he is ignoring her they should change Jakes. He has changed so much then she almost doesn’t recognize him anyway. That is where they should change to Steven Strait. Taylor and him resemble each other enough to pull it off. And Bella is all “Jake??” not sure it is him anyway. Steven Strait looks in his 20s and Jake could look older from there out and it wouldn’t matter. Steven is a bit taller than Rob. Taylor while I love him is too young and baby faced to pull it off. If you don’t know who Steven Strait is, look him up on IMDB. I swear you will totally agree once you look at it and if they did the switch at that point in the movie it would work.
I hop Stephenie finishes Midnight Sun at some point, but I would love a Nessie and Jake POV. Or even a Leah story!
I think they need to keep the cast, they also need to get awesome people for the volturi right. They need to get that really shuddering evil.

Yeah I will probably think of more but I’ve always thought of Aro as someone older, But, they cant have wrinkles or anything like that so I guess Micheal Cane and Anthony Hopkins are out. I hink Gaspard looks evil when he wants to and he looks foreign, they cant have someone who looks American to play someone that old and vampiric, I dont think they can pull it off.
Either that or have some unknoen Italians play them

Oh, please keep the cast of Twilight. Otherwise it would be just way confusing and ruin it for those who loved the movie (particularly new fans). I haven’t seen the movie yet (I’m in the UK), but from what I’ve seen, it looks good. Me and two friends are going to see it opening weekend. Anyway, the suggestion of changing actors (Taylor Lautner to Steven Strait) in the middle of the movie sounds like a good idea as they do have a resemblence. However, I would prefer it if Taylor was there throughout New Moon.
As for casting the Volturi, I have this idea of Antonio Banderas playing Aro. I think seeing him in Interview with the Vampire influenced that idea, but the way his character Armand was like a wise leader, it was very Aro and I had him in my head while reading Breaking Dawn. I would love to see either Kristen Chenoweth or Dakota Fanning as Jane. I don’t care, they would both be good.
I can wait a couple of years for Midnight Sun, Stephenie will finish it in her own time.
There is so much to explore in the Twilight Universe that if I were in Stephenie’s shoes, I wouldn’t know which way to go in terms of which character would narrate. I’d love to read from Renesmee’s POV. Or maybe a prequel of Carlisle’s history from his early life & transformation up to the beginning of Twilight. That could be a series in itself. I’d love to read about Carlisle’s experiences (especially with the Volturi).
I think they should keep all the cast the way it is. This time around they will have more money to play with so we will get better effects and such. For all the new characters like Jane and Aro and stuff, I think they should use actors that are newer. They would get to have the exposure (everyone has to start somewhere!) and it would leave more money for all the good stuff. I am so afraid that if they get a cast of A-list actors (like EVERYONE is suggesting) they will have to be paid their A-list salary. Do you get where I am going with this? There will be MUCH less money left to do all the special effects. Can you imagine what would happen to the wolves if there isn’t enough money to make them cool? It would be AWFUL and really CHEESY!
I really hope that Stephenie finishes Midnight Sun and continues with Renesmee and Jacob’s story. Maybe even do short books or a compilation book of different points of view of the characters. That would be great. She also has The Host that is really good, slow and maybe a teensy bit confusing at first but you really fall for the characters.
The only person I have in my mind as part of the Volturi is Saoirse Ronan as Jane. She played the young girl in Atonement and the lead character in City of Ember. I think she would be really good for the part. She is young enough and she has these eerie eyes that are just peircing in a good way. I also think she would be able to pull off the part of having some aged wisdom. As for the others It’s hard to say, there are so many actors that could fit the roles. Personally, I’d like Gerard Butler as Demitiri….that could be nice, for some eye candy. ; )
I think that the actors should still be the same for the movie NEW MOON. Before I went to see Twilight i was mad that it was Robert Pattinson playing Edward, because i pictures Adam Gregory, but its cool now, Robert plays the role just as i expected. And hey i heard you guys are filming here in utah. Thats aaaamaaaaziiinggg, cause i live here in utah=). But ummmm oh yeah. I think if you guys change the actors, the whole movie will lose its focus. The actors are perfect, and they all fitt the roles they play. Especially Carlisle, and Alice( i love her, shes so sweet) you guys did so good with them.
I only read all the books and after seeing the movie, i read the books again to see what the outcome was for me. The amazing thing is, when i went to reread New Moon and the last 2, Ive been picturing all the actors already playing it out for me. Its insane=) in a good way… i feel like ive already seen all four movies. I do have ONE MORE suggestion…. in THE MOVIE NEW MOON. I THINK THE SONG NEVER ALONE : BY BARLOW GIRL WOULD FITT IT PERFECT… THE SONG TO ME GOES PERFECT WITH THE BOOK, AND SO IM SURE IT WILL FITT THE MOVIE GREAT=))
The only one coming to mind immediately is : Abigail Breslin for Jane! She has the most childish, cute smile and it would totally thro people of if she were to be such a cruel little vampire… Dakota Fanning is too “grown-up”, her face has not this childlike innocence anymore - perhaps her little sister Ellen would do.
Well I really hope they will keep the same cast members from Twilight for New Moon. I saw that the Cullens and Bella will be the same, but it didn’t say anything about Esme (not all characters and their characters were listed). If they film two different people for a character, it throws everyone off because each person brings out their character and that character’s personality differently. I don’t have much to say about the Volturi except for the role of Jane. Jodelle Ferland and Dakota Fanning (with brown hair) would be fantastic! Besides that, I don’t have much to say. The casting director(s) did a fantastic job with the cast of Twilight, so I trust they will do the same for New Moon. They may find someone in Italy, because I also read that they will look for people there as well. They said they were going to film in Italy, Portland, and Los Angeles. WHY LOS ANGELES?! If it has to do with the Cullens , then great, but besides that I don’t see a point to it.

I think that all of the actors cast in Twilight should be cast in New Moon. It just wouldn’t be the same without Rob Pattinson or Kristen Stewart! The only thing I think should be different is Jaspers face…it looks to stern. I also think Edwards sparkles should be somewhat different, it kind of looks like he’s sweating. I only wish that I could be cast in New Moon :). I would do anything to be cast in New Moon, or at least meet Rob Pattinson! I think that the blond girl from the Harry Potter movies would be good as Jane. I think after Breaking Dawn Renesme will grow older and maybe her and Jacob will get married. I also think that maybe if there are anymore bad vampires out in the world…something will happen to Charlie and Renee. It would be similar to Twilight but Bella will be the one trying to save them, not they one they’re after!
I hope that Stephenie Meyers continues the series!
Absolutly loved the cast in Twilight. I would love to see Steven Straight in one on the future films. Also a better color specialist for Rosalie and Carlisle’s hair.
I loved the cast in twilight, i hope they don’t change anyone because i already visioned them in my minds, so if they did decide to change the origanal cast i would be dissapointed.
Anyway, i think after breaking dawn, midnight sun will hopefully be published by then so maybe they can maybe make a movie out of that, i don’t know.
i don’t really know for the rest of the cast like the Voultri and such but i am looking foward to new moon (even though jacob is in it, i am an edward fan lol) i love to see the scenes in italy that’ll be cool.
The Cullens and Bella etc. should stay the same, obviously. Some people are saying to get a new Jacob because of the whole ‘he ends up looking like he’s 25′ thing, but I’m not sure.
Volturi-wise, I think that Taylor Momsen would make a REALLY good Jane, with James Franco as Alec.
Scarlett Johanssen would be an impossibly perfect Heidi.
Aro, I’m thinking could be played by Robin Williams. Always caught that drift off of Aro.
The perfect Caius is OBVIOUSLY Allen Rickman, aka Snape in the Harry Potter fandom. With the look he has to play Snape, except with white hair, he would be PERFECT!

For the pack, Q’orianka Kilcher would make a FANTASTIC Leah (you can see her in Matt Kearney’s Breathe In, Breathe Out video) and she has a brother [Kainoa Kilcher] who could play Seth.
They MUST get someone hot for Seth, because [in my mind] Seth has always been a hottie. Jared, too!
As I live in the UK, I haven’t seen the film till the 19th. But, I agree with everyone else. It’s beyond annoying when they change an actor. And with Twilight being so huge in the US and going to be big in the UK, I sense it would be stupid to change the actors. But new actors… no one jumps to mind, but finding someone to play Aro and Caius will be difficult, I think.
But, saying that, my friends and I are thinking to think of some and all the actors we can think of will be linked to characters in Breaking Dawn! :/ One actor we keep returning on is Rami Malek is to play Benjamin (a bit too old, maybe?), and we have no idea who could play Garrett… now, that will interesting to see (if Breaking Dawn is turned into a film, of course…)
Post Breaking Dawn… hm, that’s a toughie… well, hopefully, Stephenie will keep writing. I pray, for some reason, for a sequel to The Host as I love that book! If she decides that she wants to finish Midnight Sun (or Dark High Noon as it’s been nicknamed on other sites - use whatever name you prefer guys!), then I will very happy with that. If not, I will be happy with whatever she writes next.

Aro: Gary Oldman — From Harry Potter (Amazing actor… I think he can be both evil and ‘nice’ at once)

As for Taylor.. I love him. I think he should remain cast. Its gonna make it more ridiculous and unbelievable if they switch him. Henry Cavill having a role in there would be cool too. Maybe not for New Moon but eventually.
I think, well obviously, they should keep rob and kristen and everyone. But they should have Drew Fuller as Demetri.
Okay Hey Guys. I’m relly loved the movie and hope that the cast stays the same. Some development would be nice in the characters. I think that they should definatley not change Jacob , Taylor was awsome. I thnk Emma Watson would do an awesome job as Jane ( Kinda the smart pretty thing). A good Heidi would be Kristen Dust. Love the podcast. You guys remind me of my sister and I.

I really want them to keep the cast they have now. So what is Taylor is short, we have technology today that have make he grow. However, I have a few suggests for the Volturi. I think Kristin Chenoweth, from Wicked, would be a good Jane. I don’t why but I can just see her as Jane. I also think that Jonnhy Depp should be in the Volturi, I don’t care who he plays, I just want him in the Volturi. I think he would be a great vampire and he’s gorgous to look at.

I think all the actors in the movie were great. Especially Kristen and Rob. Taylor might have to be re-cast though. He was awesome in the movie but I think he is a little too scrawny to be Jacob in the rest of the books.He might be able to bulk up ( emphasize might) but he isn’t going to get that much taller that fast.

I think that in New Moon Taylor should be in the begining as Jacob but after he changes [Jacob] Steven Strait should be Jacob!!!!!! I mean Steven looks the part and Big Jake is supposed to look like hes 20 something and Taylor doesnt look a day past 16.
I think they should combine books 2 AND 3. Otherwise everyone will be BORED out of their minds.
Books 1,3, & 4 are full of action and were very good. Plus, this would turn this into a trilogy.

I havent seen the movie(it is a long story of why i havent) but i have seen all the trailers and seens available online. From what i have seen from those is that robert is not a good edward. He isnt sparkly. not to me. my friends said that he is better when you see the whole movie but idk. i am going to see it this sunday and i hope it is good. i think that emmett is awesome and jasper i have gotton used to the idea. I do wonder though that once bella and edward and all the others (since they are all pretty muchi n there twentys except for jacob.) if they will be replaced since they are pertraying young people in there 17- throught thier mid 20’s? and if they do i would rather them do it in new moon so we can get used to them. BUT WHAT EVER THEY DO THEY CAN NOT AND I REPEAT CAN NOT REPLACE JACOB!!!! TAYLOR LAUTNER IS SOO HOT!!
I think Alan Rickman would be good for Caius, and I like Dakota Fanning as Jane (how old is Jane supposed to be, anyway?) and as for Taylor, the guy has an eight pack! So whatever y’all say about him being scrawny better google him! I love Taylor and I will be soo disappointed if they recast him!
For BD, I really want to see a book from Nessie or Jake’s PoV. I’m not really sure what would happen, but I think it would be really cool if that guy (can’t think of his name right now), the one who had the half vampire kids had some kind of run in with the Cullens and chaos ensues.
I think the original cast is fine. I can’t really picture anyone else nailing the parts as the “Twilight” actors did. I just hope they take a little more time for character development. I also hope they get more money because the werewolves will take alot of special effects…
I haven’t a clue who will be a good fit for the Volturi…it’ll take alot of work to make them terrifying…
Taylor Lautner is a great Jacob before the transformation but after they need to either change his appearance or hire a more rugged/mean looking actor…Steven Strait would be cool!

Heyy I completely agree w/ every1. U have 2 keep the same characters 4 all the movies!! (it would b like so weird if Edward or Bella were played by some1 else. I probably wouldnt go 2 c it if that happens) I’ve read the first book but i haven’t been able 2 get the other 3 yet, cuz like the only book they have at my school is Twilight, and my friend had 2 ask the public library 2 get the second book from another library, and even tho my mom works at all the highschools in this county, 1 of them only had the first and it was checked out, and another 1 had all of them, but every single 1 had like at least 1 name on the waitin list, and she hasn’t looked at the third school but i doubt they’ll have them. I would get her 2 put her name on the waitin lists, but i’m askin 4 all of them 4 Christmas, and if i did get her 2 put it on the list, it’d b like the middle of Jan. b4 i could get them so i don’t no about the charaters in the other books, but i’ll trust every1 else 2 pick somebody good to play them. srry about me babblin on!! i’ll stop now.

Okay, well I’m gonna try to be pretty thorough on my cast here:
I think all of the former actors should stay, otherwise it wouldn’t feel right, even though I’m not a fan of Nikki Reed’s Rosalie. For Jane, I’d cast either Dakota Fanning or Saoirse Ronan; for Leah I’d cast Q’orianka Kilcher or Keisha Castle-Hughes; for Marcus or Cillian Murphy I’d cast David Thewlis, for Aro I’d cast Crispin Glover; for Caius I’d cast Viggo Mortensen or Ian McKellan; for Alec I’d cast Liam Aiken; for Hiedi I’d cast Katie Holmes; for Sue Clearwater I’d cast Irene Bedard
I think they should keep Taylor Lautner for Jacob through out the rest of the movies, I think it did a wonderful job in Twilight and is exactly how I pictured Jacob in my head. I think they could use cinematic techniques for aging (hopefully, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn if they choose to make it, have a better budget) and keep him!
And I was listening to your last podcast and y’all said something about, would people be like “Wow, they used MY answer! Awesome” or would they just be kinda like, “yeah, cool”. Its the first one, lol.

I think for New Moon it would be like really awsome if they got Chase Crawdord as Demetri or felix (just as long as he is in the movie) because there is always more room for hot guys.

I agree with Caroline I would like Chace Crawford in the movie but I don’t see a role for him besides recasting Jasper.
You should at least keep Bella, Edward, and Jake the same. oh and Victoria and maby Charlie. you know what just keep all the same people. It wouldnt be the same with out them.
The Twilight cast was overall amazing, and I don’t think they should change any of them. I know some people that don’t want Taylor Lautner to play Jacob again. Even though he isn’t the exact Jacob I pictured from the book, he did a good job portraying his character. It would just mess things up if Jacob was re-cast. I’m sure he’ll grow on people if they give him the chance.
As for the new cast members that will be introduced, I’ve always seen Jodelle Ferland (from Silent Hill) as Jane. Everything about her is perfect, and she could wear a shorter wig like Ashley Greene did. Dakota Fanning would also make a good Jane, with darker hair of course. She’s already doing a Summit film (Push) so it’s a possibility! The other Italians I can’t really think of anyone. For the La Push residents, I think Jessica Szohr would be a good Leah, especially if they gave her darker and straighter extensions. I can see Q’orianka Kilcher as Emily.
hmmm…well first off the actors from the first NEED to stay the same (which i no they already are because they said so lol) and secondly the new characters that are brought in should b more actors that are less known otherwise they might become more popular then the cullens and jacob (highly unlikely but you never know). On the other hand i think it would b awesome if antonio bandarez and johny depp were cast and the volturi!

Hey Cassie and Callie! Well I love the podcast, and you both are so stinkin hilarious! Onto the question of the week though. I really hope that they leave the people that were cast for twilight in the rest of the movies, it would just really ruin it for me if they changed it in the middle. Besides that I thought all of the actors and actresses did an amazing job especially Ashley and Rob. I As for the Volturi though, I think that it would be cool if they had Ellen Page play Juno. I always pictured Jane looking that way, and although Ellen is no longer a teenager she still has a very young look to her. I’m still not so sure who I want for the rest of the volturi though. For the supporter speculation, I think it would be great to read about what happens next from Reneesmes point of view. Stephenie Meyer needs to release Midnight Sun before any of it though. I also would like to see a book from Emmets POV. What we hear from him he seems so hilarious and it would be so great to know what exactly is going through his mind. Well, thats all I have to say! If it were physically possible to replace lead actors, I would want them to replace Rob and Kristin. Before I get hit with tomatoes, let me explain. Rob was great in his other films, but like Andrew mentioned on Imprint before, Rob has this constipated look whenever he’s trying to be Edward. Kristin’s acting in my opinion, not so hot. I know that Catherine Harkwick would never replace the leads, but one could always dream, right?
Anyways, the main point. I would just love seeing Kristen Chenoweth for Jane. Seeing her play an evil character would be extremely exciting. Also, if Taylor doesn’t grow beastly enough, they should replace him with Steven Striat. Yeah, I wish the fancasting would have worked out (Gaspard Ulliel for Edward, Steven Strait for wolf beast Jacob, and Emily Browning for Bella). Now that Cam is gone and Edi scheduled to die, the films need some kick ass guys. Because Kellan and Peter can’t hold out on their own. Or maybe they should actually give Jackson some lines instead of a staring-off-into-space look.

Don’t dye the casts hair so severely! Dr. Cullen is a hottie in real life & I almost laughed when he came out in the movie. Why didn’t they cast a natural blond? Same with Rosalie. In real life she’s gorgeous. Then, when they dyed her hair for the movie it took some of her stunniness away. They should have cast a true blond.
I think Taylor played a great YOUNG Jacob. Now we have to hope he has a growth spurt before the next movie
His smile is perfect for Jacob based on reading all 4 books. They can bulk him up with workouts I’ll bet.
I loved the movie, but it went so quickly over certain parts. I felt like I was seeing the book in super speed. It’s hard to cram that much of a book into the movie of course.

im not to familiar with actors, so i cant really tell you my input. but, i /can/ tell you that jane an alec should be young, like, not past 16 years old. i didnt like any of the picks EW had for the volturi, though that count duku guy from star wars /might/ , MIGHT be good. id like them to either use real wolves or REALLY good computered ones, they need to look real, and fluid when they morph in between forms. also, they should keep true to the book and make sure everyone is the same color. thats how we’ll be able to easily tell them apart. keeping taylor as jacob is a MUST!!! ive already grown so attatched to him, itd be as catastrophic as the switching rob for someone else. they dont REALLY have to make him grow taller, but it would be awesome to see the effects of becoming a werewolf transform him. they should also incorporate red and white tulps in the movie, like they did with the rob holding the apple in twilight. anyway, sorry for the long post, its impossible for me to write short paragraphs, just ask my english teacher!! keep up the great podcasts, and i cant thank you enough for your news page!!

I’m a Twilight Mom. I have read all the books including part of the fifth book. I never thought reading a book or , in this case four and a half of them , could take someone so far away from the humdrum of everyday life. Reading the Twilight series took me away and , all beit for a short time , made me believe in love ever after. The books and the movie stole my heart and refreshed my true passion I have inside me so it would be a mistake if you changed any of the actors. Rob Pattinson makes the movie hands down . All of them have a connection with the movie and the books , now we can put a face to all of them. It would be a shame to take them away from all the loyal fans. I truely believe that fans will not go to see the sequels if anything changes because they too have falling in love with and relate with them as a whole. Thank You

The original cast needs to stay the same. Stewart was exactly what I imagined Bella to be like in my head and Pattinson was good although I’m kind of hoping that the script for Eclipse and the end of New Moon do a much better job of allowing him to say lines that demonstrate why Bella would have fallen for him in the first place (something they didn’t quite manage to get across in Twilight).

Aro - Someone who can pull off chipper. I think Antonio Banderas is a good choice.
Jane- Dakota Fanning (I’m sort of amazed about how many people on this website thought of her too - I kind of thought I was alone on this one). Kristen Chenowith is much too old and not nearly pretty enough to pull off Jane.

I agree. Midnight Sun should be done on her time, when she wants to. If it werent for her, all of us girls would be trying to read something else, and not getting a good feeling for it. I don’t think that there should be a post book about Renesmee and Jacob. It will lead into other things, and then she may have to start the series again, only with Nessie. That should have been done at the end of Breaking Dawn I think.

I am a 39 year old mother of 2 teenagers who have read all 4 books. One of them being my 15 year old son! I have never been a reader, but I read all 4 books within a 2 week period! I agree that all of the characters should remain the same for all 4 movies. I was only disappointed with the first movie in that there was not so much of Edwards velvety voice and charm brought out. However, Robert Pattinson played the part very well and is very handsome in a smooth, seductive way! I am anxiously awaiting the release of New Moon anb for Twilight to be on DVD.
I think they should add a new character. They should put Arnold Schwartzanager in the movie to permantely take out Jacob or kidnap him and release him when Bella and Edward have talked things out and get married! =) That would make New Moon so much more interesting!
I have only just recently started reading the books but have now read them twice and am about to read them again for the third time!! I’m 20 but think it’s still aimed at an older age group too, not just for teens!! I think they should keep the cast the same as Twilight!! I haven’t seen the Film yet as I live in the UK. But I love the casting for Edward<3, go Britian!! From watching the trailers I think they all fit well together, although I imagined Charlie being a little different but then again thats just my opinion.
The only thing sad about New Moon is Edward leaving for nearly all the book sadness!!

Personally, I think the actors they have so far should stay the same…and don’t hate me, but I think Taylor Lautner should only be Jacob as a human. I think Steven Strait should be the bigger, werewolf version of Jacob.

THINGS SHOULD STAY THE SAME: I love the fact that Catherine will be directing again. I love what she did with the interpretation of Twilight, by infusing such a dark yet sexual atmosphere about the whole film (just like Stephenie does with the book!). If it were to be a different director (eg Harry Potter series) doing each sequel, the whole aesthetics of the film would be lost. Catherine has her vision and I think it should continue through with each book.
The same goes with the actors. I think everyone did an amazing job in their roles and should stay on for all the films. Yes, I’m sure some of us would have liked to have seen Bella do this better or Jacob be that little bit taller, but overall these actors gave us what we wanted in terms of bringing our favorite characters to the screen. (I just have to say that Jackson Rathbone kicked some serious ass in the movie, and I don’t like people ruining Jasper’s character by picturing an actor like Chace Crawford in his place. Jackson all the way!!).
NEW MOON ACTORS: I really loved the fact that Twilight gave us actors that were (lets face it) unknown in the commercial film industry. Rob Pattinson was in Harry Potter, but how many of you can say that when you first heard the name you knew who he was? I think it would just be such a shame is New Moon was tainted by Twilight’s success and well-known actors were cast. Not every film has to include this year’s ‘it-people’ in Hollywood, (Gossip Girl actors anyone?!?! D:) No no!
Jane: She’s not a kid, so no Dakota Fanning. She is described as having child-like features and being petite, but she didn’t become a vampire when she was 14!
Aro, Marcus & Caius: I think if any New Moon characters were to have a well-known actor or recognizable face then it should be these guys. I like the idea of Gary Oldman over Johnny Depp, just because I think he’s a better actor. Since Pirates, I feel that Depp kinda sold his soul to the Disney Devil. Oldman still has that intense demeanor about himself. Plus, he’s already has the experience of playing a vampire in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Felix & Demetri: I have to admit that when someone suggested that Henry Cavill should be cast eventually (because he missed out on Edward) I immediately thought Felix or Demetri. He’s a lot older, but if you’ve seen him in The Tudors then you know he still looks quite built.
And Leah and Emily: These girls are American Indian. You can’t cast someone like Rachel Bilson in these roles just because she’s pretty and has long brown hair. That’s why I still believe in un-known actors all the way!

I think it would really ruined the new moon movie if the cast were to change. also if you look at books and movies not all the descriptions fit. like in hoot the girl in the book was all rough and tom boyish but in the movie she was popular and blond. please keep the cast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly think everyone in the cast is great, I thought I’d be dissapointed, hoping I wouldn’t be, and I wasn’t. There is one thing though….I DO NOT LIKE KIRSTIN STEWERT AS BELLA.
She’s nothing like her at all and I knew that’d dissapoint me even before I saw the movie. I think she should be recast. But if they don’t do it for NM or Eclipse then deffinatly for BD because Bella is Bella but not, if you can understand that. She’s changed a lot and not just turning. Her whole attitude is differen’t, she’s tougher, and I don’t think that KS can capture that. I mean w/e keep her up until the scene she turns and then when they flash to where it’s ending switch the girl. Bellas supposted to look different anyway right so not like it’d be a big deal. Itd be like, Human Bella and Vampire Bella.
And I hadnt even thought of the Volturi but yah! Dakota Fanning would be fantastic as Jane!!!!!

How old, exactly, is Jane in the books? I’ve read, re-read, and re-re read, and all it says is little Jane. Dakota Fanning? Maybe..depends. She’s already what, 14? And she’s got a little sister, Elle, who could take over if she aged out.

Personally, too, I think Kristen was perfect as Bella. The entire cast was very well done. As for Carlisle being so pale..you gotta remember, he’s over 300 years old. In BD, the Volturi are very pale, almost ashy looking, too…I think the Romanians explained it to Nessie as ‘petrifying’. It would make sense that he would be more pale than the others..he’s been a vamp the longest.
Taylor should stay Jacob…but I agree with the earlier post that a growth spurt would be a very good thing.

I loved Taylor as Jacob. He looks like the perfect Jacob and I think that he showed the perfect amount of interest in Bella. In the end of the movie, in the prom scene, Jacob and Edward share a glare. I just thought that Taylor played that moment perfectly. He should definitely continue to play Jacob in New Moon. I don’t think his boyish looks will be a problem for the werewolf Jacob since they can do so much with make up and effects. Plus, he will grow by the time they start filming. They really shouldn’t switch any of the actors because many of the fans have become very attached and would be disappointed if some actors were different.

for a low budget movie, i think twilight has the opportunity to up its standards by casting more well known actors in the following films as the books progress along, there are more characters introduced and involved; i think this will give twilight a more blockbuster movie feel to cater for all genres. its a fantastic series, and sometimes people need recognizable actors in a movie to be interested and drawn to watch the film.
so what i think…
definately dakota fanning for Jane; she just has this eery look to her and if she was to play an evil Jane, dakota fanning would look even more freaky and eery!

IDK really wht to say i read all 4 books in 3 days and i seen the movie. all i have to say is that the characters really didnt fit the descriptions in the books. I thought alice and jasper were close and emmett too but the others could have used more emotions in there acting.

I don’t have a grasp on many of the characters for NM, however I will make the following suggestions:

Aro: Adrien Brody
I think Antonio Banderas would also make a good cast member, but I’m not sure which!
With that said, I think that Summit will need to stick with lesser known actors/actresses for the additional NM cast. Do we know what the NM budget will be? I have to imagine it will be more than Twilight, but the actors (Rob, Kristen) will also cost more. I think in order to keep the same “feel” of the movie (and to be able to afford a larger cast), they won’t choose A-list actors.

One thing I have to say about casting a child as Jane would not work. As a vampire shes not supposed to age. A child of say 10 or 14 or even 16 change so much in two or three years. Jane has to stay the same from when New Moon is filmed till Breaking Dawn is filmed. So the actors that play Jane and Alec the twins would best be played by someone at least in their 20’s so the change is minimal over the years of filming. I would like to see someone like Dakota Fanning or her little sister but that just will not work they will grow up too much. They can make an actress like Kristen Chenoweth look younger and she’s so small that she can pull off playing a child.

Oh goodness I kinda of draw a blank when it comes to actually casting the Volturi. Honestly when I see the Vulturi, I see Gary Oldman when he was in Dracula!! Especially when he has the white hair (possibly Caius) but I dont think he’d play another vampire. But off the top of my head, here’s who’d consider:

Hey again, this is just a comment. If they change any already cast actors from Twilight or if they mash the 2nd and 3rd (2/4 of the best books ever made) theyre gonna get 4′9 feet of nasty. It would be ridiculous. If you remember Pirates of the Carribean, they extended the”2nd and 3rd” so they are only 2 movies in reality. I see no reason they cant do that to Twilight, money isnt a problem and most humans loved the movie. Love your podcast

okay so first since i missed last week, I LOVED THE MOVIE there were some things they left out and some let downs but overall it was the most amazingest movie i have ever ever seen. so here is my personalized cast list for New Moon-
Cullens- all the same they were perfect! (especially Rosalie)
Jacob- Taylor (he did amazing have you ever heard of lifts and body suits? with a bigger budget it will be easier.)
Wolf Pack and everyone from La Push- all did great keep them all in there for another round (especially embry (kris Ivory) he was extremely nice to look at! haha i think you guys said that on your show)
– they need to add another girl from school i think during when edward is gone to keep things moving so i think that that person needs to be ME i would hang out with jacob then transfer to Forks High School and be friends with bella and jacob!!! PERFECT PLAN who agrees?

All i have to say is please leave all the characters casted as who they were in Twilight! if they change the characters it won’t feel like a continuous series and it will fill all wrong. even though i loathe who they picked for bella i don’t want them to change her becasue it would be too different and not the same. plus new moon is all about the wolves and i want them to stay the same! i love taylor, krys, and solomon!
I am very against dakota fanning and she ruins every movie she’s ever in- besides uptown girls, i liked that one- and i think taylor is perfect for jacob and they’ll find some way to make him bigger and bulkier. i have faith in him!

I love the idea of Kristin Chenowith as Jane, even though she is older, she still is short enough to convey the youthful look described for Jane.
I think if Christopher Walken could be perceived as scary he’d be a great Aro though Christopher Lee would also be awesome. I picture Marcus to have a choppy bob (kinda like Ben Barnes in Narnia) and be relatively young looking, I dunno how they’ll do the whole young looking but still having papery skin…

The cast should remain the same for New Moon. All of the Cullens were perfect. I loved Talor Laurtner as Jacob and I am really pulling for him to return as Jacob. I think he has plenty of time to buff up for the werewolf thing.
My suggestion for the cast for the next movie is to have Dakota Fanning play Jane. I have heard some rumors about that, but that was early in this year before Twilight was even released, so I wouldn’t credit it much. She is young enough to do the part, but she is a good actress and could pull off the dark, sadistic vampire very well.
I would rather not want to see anyone over-the-top famous. I like the docu-style feel in this movie (even some of it were done wrong) and please aside from Jim Carrey, I would not like to see Johnny Depp being in the cast (but I love him) it is just it seems wrong. Totally wrong.

When they start making the rest of the movies we don’t want to see someone else playing the cullen family or any of the other starts. yes they have to get more cast because for their was more people in the new moon. I think they should keep Taylor as Jacob because it wouldnt make sense to recast…If I was casting, Evan Rachel Wood/Christina Ricci for Jane or maybe even Tanya?! Johnny Deep for Aro, Kate Bekinsale as Heidi….. um….in Breaking Dawn, I think issues that were not ressolved are gonna have to be cleared up in the next book,if any. I think there will be another book because I doubt The Volturi would back down like they did, I dont think Stephanie would finish the Twilight series like that. I was kinda expectin a big battle between The Volturi and Cullens, to finish things out, which would probably involve losing characters. I think the Volturi will have issues with Jacob and Reneesmes’ relationship(Ya,Im not all for Jacobs Imprint choice 2bh) also and we have not seen Renee’s reaction either to Reneesme. I feel Breaking Dawn was not enough to finish the Twilight series. If BD was the last ever Twilight series book ,I would be very disappointed…I think there are enough unresolved issues in BD to make up at least another book because BD didnt clarify everything…Here’s hopin!!!

Ok, so i think they should keep everyone that they already do have, i think who they have so far are perfect. Since Jacob is really the main person in the book (of course this doesnt include the cullens, and some people will argue that jacob is more important in this book than edward, and the other cullens), they should keep Taylor Lautner the same. I absolutly LOVED him as jacob and he did an amazing job, and looks just like i thought he would. Anyways, i wouldn’t understand why he wouldn’t return for the next movies anyway, because they do so well and i bet he had a great experience. i think that they should MAYBE look around for another bella. Kristen Stewart was ok at it, but she annoyed me to no end (im sorry, no offense!) when she would blink quickly multiple times and shake her head quickly, too. I noticed that it was something that she also does in real life, in interviews, along with other movies. When it comes to new character, well, lets just see! keep doing a great job girls i love the podcast!

They can’t change the cast, how weird would that look? Say it was Jacobs’ big entrance and your like, ‘yay Taylor Lautner!’, then Taylor isn’t the one on the screne and it was some other guy. Everyone would be so confused and disappointed that the original actors weren’t playing their parts. Then what if they recast Edward? That would be so awful, if they did I might not even see the movie. Everyone has alrady fallen in love with all the actors from Twilight, it would just be a huge let down to have some new actor to play your favorite character.
As for who should play the Volturi, I have absolutely no clue. I always pictured them as old, even though their immortal. I kind of get the sense of the Godfather when I read about them. Whoever is cast is going to have to be really big, like A list celebrity in my opinion. I don’t think a new actor could pull off such and important role well. Maybe Johnny Depp should make a star appearence! I would love that.

Well as for Aro the biggest part as far as the Volturi goes, I pictured an older looking guy, even older than Carlisle because Bella describes him as being frail. Therefore, I can picture John Travolta someone older but still good looking and someone just older looking would be Jack Nicholson. Then, I saw Nicolas Cage just cause I think he can play the part and for everyone who pictured someone young then I would say Johnny Depp or they could just play one of the other Volturi. As far as Jane I pictured someone small and pixie like so I would say Ellen Page or Amber Tamblyn I think they could play it perfectly, and just look wise would be Leighton Meester or Soophia Bush, but, then they need to remember to have Alec look just like her or look closely related.
One time a newspaper columnist in St. Louis commented that they would like to Eric Bana as a volturi and I have to agree with them. I think he could do a great job. The one I would most like to see is BIll Nighy as Caius. He has done such a great job playing dark and creepy characters such as Victor (Underworld) and Davy Jones (Pirates 2 & 3). I think he would be fabulous!! For some reason I see Jane as being played by Natalie Portman only because that girl can act in any part thrown before her and do it well. I know these are big actors, but hopefully with the larger budget and growing fanbase Summit can hire people like this.

It’s been fascinating to read all the different fan input and seeing the trends toward generational influences and physical considerations to the “newer” Twilight film characters, such as the Volturi. Fans need to keep in mind that though the Twilight film made a lot of money, there will still be a tight budget with the CGI that will be developed. With that in mind and the type of European vampires that make up the Volturi, you will likely see more British actors (lesser known in the US) in these roles since they can pull off the role for a less $$$. Actors for consideration: Terence Stamp or Geoffrey Rush as Aro.
Also, though it would be nice to see Alan Rickman or Johnny Depp in these roles too, it won’t happen. The Hollywood industry knows the influences of franchises “borrowing” other franchise actors and their effects. Any which way, Rickman’s and Depp’s respective franchises make them more expensive to acquire. Even Jason Isaacs and Gerard Butler are to a lesser degree “attached” to their respective franchises.
There will still be “known” US actors in New Moon, it is likely they will not be television actors (unless they are proven movie draws). Understandably Dakota Fanning is a popular choice in this comment section. However, Miss Fanning still looks “too sweet” for Jane’s character. A bigger factor - Dakota Fanning is increasingly becoming box office poison and if there will be an American actress as Jane, it will be someone with a bit of recent draw. For instance, Ellen Page from Juno.
The months leading to the March filming should present some exciting casting news. Stay tuned.

I think that if they do make breaking dawn as a movie i think it would be awesome. I would still love it if Stephanie Meyer didn’t end it with Breaking Dawn. It would of been nice if there were like 6 books or something. So we would know like what happens in the Cullen’s family while Bella stays vampire. I think it would actually be incredible if the story went that far. It would be the best books ever……a book in Alice’s point of view would be highly brilliant. I hope SM publishes Midnight Sun…becuase i’ve read the first chapter online in her website and i loved it……i hope she does…I am dying to read it.
Have all of the actors in Twilight continue the sequels because it would ruin the whole movie…..it wouldn’t feel like an orignial anymore if there were new cast members to play all them.

just like others taylor wasn’t working for me as Jacob at first and i desperately wanted Steve Strait to play Jacob. However i feel that they should keep with taylor for it to remain the same. he just needs to be less dorky and start growing his own hair out for the movie. NO wig!!!! He also needs to bulk up. i don’t know how they are going to make him taller cuz once he starts transforming he is barefoot all the time. This makes it a little tricky.
As for the Volturi i like a lot of people’s suggestions…Dakota Fanning would be great or Anna Sophia Robb from Bridge to Terabithia. She has a sweet face but can be really mean!!! Perfect Jane!!
I do think that I have a hard time picturing the rest of the volturi. I guess I just hope they are all good. We’ll have to wait & see!
I totally agree with the recent EW.com article saying that Kristen Chenoworth would be great as Jane. She can totally pull of the super sweet/evil aspect of Jane.
I think they need to keep the Volturi young and beautiful. It would help with the creepy aspect.

I hope the original cast stays as is - and all new characters are virtually unknown. Keeps the costs down for better special effects, and then you aren’t look at the screen thinking “Johnny Depp!” instead of Marcus.
Keep Them The Same!!! When Actors are changed it removes the bonds the people created with them. It ruins the movie!!! When you have the same people from the beginning the more you know them and like them. Even tho the person playing jacob black is the only one who shouldn’t have been cast it would be hard to see someone play that part, and hang out with bella as if he did in the first movie even tho it was Taylor Lautner. keep everyone specially the others.

OMG! LOVE THE PODCAST!!!!!!!! You guys are sooo a-m-a-z-i-n-g! So, based on the great cast that was picked for twilight, I’m pretty sure whoever is picked for the casting in new moon will be exta-ordinary. I know I’m a week late…..but this is bugging me soo much. In the movie, at the end when Bella is in the hospital bed there is a tv on in the background. For a split second it looks like what is playing on the tv is the fight sceen that just happened. Did anyone else notice or am I totally seeing things??????????? PLEASE TELL ME I”M RIGHT!!!! ( I’ve got a bet with my friends on this one)
I think that they should keep the cast esp. the vampires…but for jacob i think they should use Steven strait…..He is soooo hot he was the one in The Covenant. He would be a better jacob especially since he’s taller than Edward and is buff..Although i do love taylor he’s just 2 small to be jacob esp in New Moon. Taylor is the same height as Bella, she looks like she can beat him up…it just wont work

I want to start by saying that Edward, Bella, Carlisle, Esme, Jasper, Emmett, and Billy are all great as is. I would recast them in a heartbeat! HOWEVER, I do not picture Alice the same way in the book as she is portrayed in the movie. I picture someone like Lindy Booth (from October Road) but obviously change her hair color. She is very whimsy. Also, I would change Rosalie’s actress right away!!!! Nikki Reed is not a good blond nor is she the bombshell as the book states either! I think she got the part because she was in both Lords of Dogtown and Thirteen, both of which were directed by Catherine Hardwicke…Coincidence??? I think NOT! I don’t know who should be cast as Jacob, but the actor who plays Jacob seems too small for the remaining books…I don’t see how he is going to grow to be so big over the next few years!
I also hope that New Moon sticks closer to the actual story line and doesn’t add stuff that doesn’t belong (i.e. Charlie’s friend in the movie being killed by James, Laurent, & Victoria). Things like that take away from other important parts!!! Stay TRUE TO THE BOOK!!!!!
I think they should keep the cast but digitally change Jacob. Dakota Fanning should totally play Jane. Jonny Depp should play Marcus.

Well like everyone else on this site I’m a pretty HUGE Twilight fan aswell. It would be really upsetting if the cast was changed, because everyone is finally used to who is playing what part in the film. I loved the novels and the movie. I even saw it twice (although the second time I thought it was a million times better). However, many of my friends thought it was absolute shit and were quited pissed of with the character selection. Personally I think it would be super annoying if they changed the actors/actresses because its gona kill alot of the illusion built so far. Although for all those who hate the characters and are begging them 2 be changed go suck an egg. Seriously get over it. lol Hon, if u love the books as much as most of you rave about than at least just accept the movie and stop giving it such bad publicity! On that note I hope the next movies are AMAZING and are big hits.
In my opinion, I would recommend the company to keep all of the cast. First of all, they’ve been through making Twilight, so I’m sure they’ll have this kind of feeling toward New Moon. If they changed someone from the original cast, example Taylor Lautner, and put in someone that isn’t in Twilight will make a big difference. Not to be mean or anything, but put in a newbie would be confusing, that person might not know what it’s like to be Jacob.. like you’re reading something and skipped a chapter or two, and then you wouldn’t know what’s going on. I’m saying this because I read an article and it said that they might change Jacob. I mean, I’m pretty sure everyone would have Taylor Lautner as Jacob because for my side of the story, there’s something about him and the movie that makes him just exactly like Jacob in the books.

Keep all the characters the same for the movies. For Aro they could use Hugo Weaving prehaps, or use him as either Caius or Marcus.
Leah Clearwater is described as beautiful in an exotic way. Salma Hayak, Madeleine Stowe, and even Jessica Alba in my opinion would be nearly perfect for the part. Also, Alec could be played as Max Theriot or Jeremy Sumpter and look… right. Max just looks right for the part, and he resembles Dakota too. “New Moon” needs Alec and Jane to look like twins because they are. I also have some one in mind for the PERFECT Renesmee…
Tom Felton have to play Alec! he’s perfect for the part and him and Dakota Fanning is just the perfect match!
