Born January 10, 1985 in Mesa, AZ, Alex Meraz (born Alejandro) is cast as Paul in the film adaptation of “New Moon.” Alex is a First Nation descendant of the Lakota (Sioux) Nation, as well as the Purepecha (Tarasco) Nation. As an avid illustrator and painter, Alex attended the New School for the Arts.
Paul is a shape-shifter and a member of the Quileutes tribe in La Push. Sixteen-year-old Paul is known for his temper and is a friend of Jacob Black.
