Meeting Stephenie Meyer Podcast~ Week #18

This week we take some time (sarcasm noted…) to review the news, talk about meeting Stephenie, and discuss some of the answers to the Question of the Week!  It is another week of fun!  The music this week is ‘Down on the Ground,’ by British Sea Power.

Note: If you listen through the song at the end, there are a few minutes of HILARIOUS outtakes from Kassie!  I had to help a friend during the recording and Kassie had no idea I was still recording her!  LOL!

Oh, Boy! There are so Many Twilight Guys!

The Twilight Lexicon has put together an amazing report from all of the Twilight Guys!

Seth, Stephenie Meyer’s Webmaster and brother, explains…

When browsing blogs and exploring Twilight series fansites, it is easy for a male fan to think that he is alone in the world of Twi-hards.

But, it just isn’t true. I constantly receive emails at stepheniemeyer.com from male fans who wonder why the fandom is so highly dominated by females. I think that the reason is the powerful love story which is part of almost every page of the books. While there is no reason why a guy can’t enjoy a love story, us “manly men”  (who by definition cannot admit to enjoying love stories) have other reasons to love the Twilight series. Stephenie’s ability to describe action scenes is rivaled only by her amazing descriptions of the setting. And the books are filled with both. Some of my favorite scenes include the battle in Eclipse (and the training) and the Volterra encounter in New Moon. My favorite characters are almost exclusively werewolves. I like Jacob’s style, and Seth Clearwater is a personal favorite.

The bottom line is that these books are true “page-turners.” They are nearly impossible to put down, and everybody can enjoy that… no matter if they have two X chromosomes or not.

Twilight’s Movie Release in the Philippines

poster.jpg

Dianne, a fellow Twilight Fan, is working to get the release date of Twilight moved up!  To help out the fans in the Philippines, lets sign their petition!

Okay, so someone asked Ayala Malls when they’re going to air the Twilight movie.  Unfortunately for us, the release is on January 8 in the Philippines because of the Metro Manila Film Festival.  So if we try to get online signatures, the Ayala people might consider airing the movie on December 12 or earlier ( I hope. ((: ).

Chat with Michael Welch

The Twilight Nexus has posted an interview with Michael on their site!

“I asked her (Catherine Hardwicke) about the possibilities of the sequels being made into movies. She said we wouldn’t know for sure until the opening weekend of Twilight, depending on how popular this film is.” He went on to say, “I’m not too worried about that, I’m pretty confident that Twilight is going to do well.”
