Some of the cast were eating lunch and having a pre-shoot meeting in downtown Portland this week! Including Taylor Lautner (Jacob) and Solomon Trimble (Sam)! Thanks to Twilight Moms for the news!
Taylor has come a long way since “Sharkboy and Lavagirl”! I really can not picture a more perfect Jacob. He has that boyish smile that Bella loves; it says “everything’s gonna be ok.” Furthermore, he will only fit the role more and more as a year or 2 goes by when they are making the sequels. We all know how fast 16 yr old boys can grow! It will match the books perfectly. :o)

I think Taylor Lautner is PERFECT for Jacob!!! But I don’t think that Solomon Trimble is right for Sam, I mean he’s a great guy and all that, but not right for Sam, in some cases he is, others he’s not. Sorry!
Oh wow.. he’s definitely grown up! Glad he got rid of the spikey hair… and he has that hot wearwolfy vibe.. aha I don’t really know why, but I see it.

His short hair isn’t supposed to show up until AFTER he turns into a werewofl 
I think if he hits a growth spurt he will fit in the next movies, if not he won’t (b/c after Jacob goes wolf, his human form at 16 looks like a 25 year old)
I like Michael Copon for the job, if Taylor doesn’t grow more.
I think he is great ,but they’ll need a wig . sam is totally not whay I expect
ov course hez gtn a wig guys, if they kan make these vampirse walk rly fast over tree tops and all those other kool effects, im sure making jacobs hair long wont b hard. thats solved with a wig.
but omg i LOVE taylor lautner 4 jacob black, although i wouldve prefered steven strait, taylors stil so gorgeous!

he wears a wig to play jacob, stop worrying kiddies….and i hate solomon as sam. not how i pictured it at all. in the slightest bit.
jacob/taylor is super over the top hot all my bffs think so too. i think emmett is totally hot too and edward is amazing i can’t say who should end up with Bella. (it’s so hard to choose, i hope jacob does not die! and that he and edward both get happy endings!) can’t wait for the book nor the movie.

That and the guy playing Embry, but Jake is still my favorite. What can I say? I love werewolves. Vampires are icky, but werewolves are the best.

wow. i think taylor has done some serious growing up. i mean, just a few years ago, he was just this little kid that was playing in sharkboy and lavagirl, and now, he is in one of the hawtest teen romance novels?! i mean, wow! i dont think that solomon really looks good for the part of sam. when i read the book, i was given the impression that sam was this totally good looking werewolf that no one could live up to. sorry, just an opinion. all of the other actors are amazing too. especially jasper! i mean come on, gorgeous enough? i dont think soo. lol.

is it too late to change the actor playing SAM ULEY??? he really does NOT fit the part. Sam is supposed to be bigger than everyone else in the wolf pack and in human form…

and hes the perfect age, too. hes gonna have a growth spurt while theyre filming new moon, which will be great for the werewolf in him. he will look older too.
sam is..ok. its not what i had in mind, but hes not that bad. i can get used to it. his hair is way too short tho. hate it.

for real! i love taylor as jacob but my vision of sam will never be lived up too. in my mind sam is hotter than jake and much more mature, even though he’s only 3 or so years older.
i think that taylor grew up fast!! he’s alright for the part but i wish he was a bit darker…..i think that all the cast members though dont fit their parts and characters…..
