Day 3

Chapter 26: Ethics

Jacob and Bella have a heart-to-heart in this chapter, with Jake finally realizing that Bella can’t live without Edward. He gives one of the better known quotes during this scene, saying, “The clouds I can handle.  But I can’t fight with an eclipse.”  We want to know what some of your favorite quotes are in Eclipse, and which ones you think will make it into the movie!

Krystal’s answer: Here are some of my favorite quotes.  I’ve seen the movie, so I won’t say whether I think they are in there or not, just which are my favorites in the book.  Can’t wait to read your thoughts!

“You know I love you right?” -Bella
“I know,” he breathed, his arm tightening automatically around my waist. “You know how much I wish it was enough.”
-Jacob and Bella pg 602

“Will you tell me before you do anything major?  Before you run off with him or something?”
“Dad…” I moaned (Bella)
“I’m serious. I wont kick up a fuss. Just give me some advanced notice. Give me a chance to hug you goodbye.”
-CharlIe and Bella pg 590

“I’ll be back so soon you won’t have time to miss me. Look after my heart–I’ve left it with you.”

-Edward’s note, page 95

“Sleep, my Bella. Dreams happy dreams. You are the only who has ever touched my heart. It will always be yours. Sleep, my only love.”
-Edward, pg.195

“But if you ever bring her back damaged again—and I don’t care whose fault it is; I don’t care if she merely trips, or if a meteor falls out of the sky and hits her in the head—if you return her to me in less than the perfect condition that I left her in, you will be running with three legs.”

-Edward, pg. 340

“If Angela turns out to be a witch, she can join the party too.”
-Bella, p. 143

  1. Abby!!! says:

I can’t remember the exact page (around page 88ish), and frankly I am too lazy to go get my book. BUT, in addition to the quotes Krystal listed above, I REALLY love the notes that Bella and Edward pass back in forth in class. My favorite part of the notes is when they are discussing the plane crashing and Edward says :
“i’d wait till we were close enough to the ground, get a good grip on you, kick out the wall, and jump. then i’d run you bak to the scene of the accident and we’d stumble around like the two luckiest survivors in history.”

  2. Stephanie G Cullen says:

i agree with Krystal and abby those are my favorite i also like Jacob’s note in the beginning of the book and another ones but i don’t have my book because my dog destroyed it.

  3. Shauna says:

I love when Bella tells Edward they need to tell Charlie they’re engaged and she tells him its a good thing he bullet proof. & on pg.275-277 when Bella explains her reasons for not wanting to get married and that shes not “that girl” and he says “You see, Bella, I always was that boy. I thought of nothing but the idealized glory of the war that they were selling prospective draftees then- but if I had found…”He paused, cocking his head to the side.”I was going to say if I had found someone, but that won’t do. If I had found you, there isn’t a doubt in my mind how I would have proceeded. I was that boy, who would have-as soon as I discovered that you were what I was looking for- gotten down on one knee and endeavored to secure your hand.”

O and page 460. “Isabella Swan? I promise to love you forever-every single day of forever. Will you marry me?” There were many things I wanted to say, some of them not nice at all, and others more disgustingly gooey and romantic than he probably dreamed I was capable of.

    & Pg. 465
    Bella: “What’s wrong, Alice?”
    Alice: “Don’t yu love me?”
Bella: Of course I do. You know that.”
Alice: “Then why do I see you sneaking off to Vegas to get married without inviting me?”

O damn the whole book was one wonderful quote :)

  4. Ashley says:

Some of my favorite quotes are:
Edward: Don’t be ridiculous, Bella,…I was just trying to illustrate the benefits of the bed you don’t seem to like. Don’t get carried away.
Bella: Too late…And I like the bed.
    Edward: Good. I do, too.
Bella: But I still think it’s unnecessary…if we’re not going to get carried away, what’s the point?
Edward: For the hundreth time, Bella – it’s too dangerous.
    Bella: I like danger!

And of course the kissing scene:
Bella: No, dammit! You broke my hand!
Jacob: Bella, you broke your hand.

And to be quite honest…I hopes its all in the movie. Eclipse is probably my favorite book of the series, so I can’t wiat to see the movie!
