When I saw this question there was instantly a dress that came straight to mind.

If the train were slightly shorter, Kate Middleton’s dress would be exactly how I first imagined Bella’s dress to be, It’s not too modern, and Alice chose Bella’s dress to suit Edward’s ‘old timey’ sort of taste. Everything about this dress screams ‘REGAL’ at me, and though it was designed for a future Princess, it’s something that any woman could wear on her wedding day. The cut is elegant and compliments a thin shape (as both Kate and Kristen have) perfectly. The lace detail is both understated and eye catching at the same time. I would be thrilled if Bella’s dress turn out to look something like this 🙂
    Love the podcast!

These might be too casual for a Cullen wedding, but they are beautiful, and seem ‘Bella’ to me!

    I like this one http://www.weddingdressescorner.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/lace-wedding-dresses-pictures.jpg
for Bella. In the books is says stuff about Satin and Lace, and having a high neck. If it had lots of buttons down the back it would take the the cake.

  4. Astrid says:

i always thought Bella’s wedding dress should look a bit like this one http://i.imgur.com/35E9D.jpg but then with Kate Middelton’s dress i think Bella’s dress is going to be a perfect mix of the both dresses, i’m sure the dress has a bit of lace in it but a shorter tail with no too long sleeves but with the tight shape around the waist and that vintage look. i would love to see this tape of shoulders in it http://imgur.com/BsKCS

  5. Gina says:

I think Bella’s dress will be a classic/vintage style with a hint of modern, since Alice is the one that picks it out. I was thinking something along the lines of this dress:

Can’t wait to see what it actually looks like in BD!! 🙂

  6. https://twilightseriestheories.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/wedding-dress.jpg Kristen is going to do Bella justice. I hope the dress is more like what the book describes because as for what we have seen of the wedding, it doesn’t look a lot like it was centered around Edward. A very vintage look will be wonderful. Thanks so much TwilightSeriesTheories for the contest. Best wishes, Jen

I think this wedding dress is perfect for Bella:

I pictured a dress like this pretty http://www.weddingdressone.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/line-wedding-gowns-11.jpg but with lace and long sleeves having that old look but since Alice draw the dress so it needs to have a bit of fashion and modern in it too 😉

  9. Sammykins says:

All of the dresses look way too modern. Including the glimpses of the one in the film. I seriously pictured it as a high necked gown and yet none of them have the high neck really. I saw the illustration in the guide and Stephenie says it is perfect, yet it looks nothing like her description in the book, so I’m skeptical. I’m sure it will be modern looking in the film. The words she uses in the book are high neck, lace, long skirt with train. It was supposed to have an Anne of Green Gables feel. An actual Edwardian gown would be way too outdated. It would have to be an updated look.
This is Anne of Green Gables actual wedding dress: http://content7.flixster.com/photo/12/15/24/12152497_gal.jpg
But this is what I would have chosen if I did the costume design: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_KKNyXy942PA/SxPzjjB_jHI/AAAAAAAAA00/B57ZBySHb0M/s1600/grace-kelly-bride-790440.jpg (This is Grace Kelly’s wedding gown)
Here is another picture, so you can see the train and veil: http://hollywooddame.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Grace-Kelly-Wedding-dress.jpg

One of my biggest complaints with Stephenie Meyer is that she doesn’t seem to understand the periods she writes about. Don’t get me started on the engagement ring. An honest to God Edwardian wedding ring looks like this: http://bridesmine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/vintage-pearl-wedding-rings-2011.jpg
    or this:

The closest I found to what we got is this one and even it is prettier, because Edwardian jewlery was very intricate: http://pricegems.com/store/Images/P/07/11/3485/3485_1.jpg

  10. Tiana says:

Bella’s gown should be heavy silk and lace, not too modest, sexy, and most importantly timeless. I picture the dress at the following link, sans flowers…

  11. Emily says:

It was elegant and just (puh-lane) to die for! Love it!

  12. Bethany says:

When reading Twilight I always saw Bella wearing something different but safe if you know what I mean. I never once saw her wearing a huge sparkly Cinderella type dress, something more Kate Middleton – like. Not to fancy and in your face but not plain and ordinary. I see Bella in something that will really leave a mark in her wedding guests mind, something very white and proper. Maybe even having a dress that was tight enough so she could flaunt what she had and for the fun, she’d maybe do the something old, something borrowed and something blue. I think Bella would go with something quite traditional to earn some respect from the vampires she’d never met, including the Vulturi, who, when I think of them, would probably be very respectable and traditional.

  13. Jennie Clark says:

I really pictured her in something almost vintage but with nicer materials.

The last one doesn’t really have the right shaping at the bottom. It’s supposed to look like an inverted calla lily. In my mind I pictured it as an exceptionally subtle mermaid/trumpet style bottom
