Born in Bloomfield, MI on June 15, 1975, Elizabeth Reaser grew up wanting to be an actor. After attending Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI for a year, Elizabeth was accepted at Juilliard School of Drama, where she went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in 1999. She then went on to act in stage and film, and has appeared in such television shows as “Saved” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” Elizabeth will be next be seen this Fall as the lead in CBS’s “The Ex List” and as Esmee Cullen in the film “Twilight.”
Esme Cullen is the wife of Carlisle Cullen and is the adoptive mother of Edward, Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie. Born Esme Anne Platt in late 19th century Ohio , Esme was once treated by Dr. Carlisle Cullen for a broken leg at the age of 16. She married Charles Evenson but soon found out that her new husband was abusive. After becoming pregnant with their first child, Esme ran away from her husband and gave birth to a son. However, her baby died just a few days later, leading Esme to jump off a cliff in her grief. She was brought to the morgue after everyone presumed the 26-year-old was dead. Carlisle, who had remembered treating Esme ten years before, detected that she was indeed alive and changed her into a vampire in order to save her from death. Eventually the two fell in love and formed a family with their adopted “children.”
