Sarah Clarke was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1972. She is the middle child of Ernest, a St. Louis engineer, and Carolyn, a homemaker. Her older brother, Preston, is a musician and her younger brother, Swope, works as a banker. She studied Fine Arts and Italian at Indiana University, spending her senior year in Bologna, Italy, where she also began acting. After that she returned to St. Louis and began working as an architectural photographer. She received free acting classes for taking photos of a cultural arts center. She moved to New York and continued to study acting at Circle in the Square, also working with Robert Wilson, Axis Theatre Company and The Willow Cabin Theatre Company. She played the role of Madeline in the 24 Hour Plays production “K, X, Z and Y“.

Her first movie role was starring in Nara Garber’s short film “Pas de Deux for Outstanding Performance at the Brooklyn Film Festival. ” for which she won a CiNY AwardShe was the actress in the award-winning VW Jetta commercial “Synchronicity.” She made guest appearances in “Ed” and “Sex And The City“, and starred in the independent film “The Accident” before landing a part in FOX’s drama “24“. For the part of Nina Myers she won a Golden Satellite Award for best performance by an actress in a supporting role in a drama series. She also had a small part in the critically acclaimed movie “Thirteen“, in the ensemble dramedies “Happy Endings” and “The Lather Effect“. She has recently been casted in the highly anticipated feature film production “Twilight“, the thriller-romance based on Stephenie Meyer’s publishing phenomenon. On the small screen she was one of doctor House’s complicated patients in the FOX medical drama “House, M.D.“, she also guest starred in two episodes of the third season of “Las Vegas“, in the series finale of “Commander in Chief” and in one episode of the new NBC’s drama “Life“. Sarah married “24” co-star Xander Berkeley on September 7th, 2002. They have a daughter, Olwyn Harper Berkeley, born September 23rd, 2006.

Renee and Charlie were not married for very long. Their daughter, Bella, was born in September of 1988 and they were divorced by March of 1989. She moved to Riverside, California until Bella was five years old, at which time she moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she still lives today. Around 2004, she met and fell in love with a minor league baseball player named Phil Dwyer whom she later married. It was difficult for them to spend time together as he was always on the road and she had to stay home to be with Bella. Bella opted to move in with her father, freeing up Renee to travel with her new husband. She is described as being the child in the relationship rather than the adult, in spite of her age. She is a free spirit and often times forgetful.
