Born February 11, 1992 in Grand Rapids, MI, Taylor Daniel Lautner began performing
at an early age, first in martial arts and next in film.  Taylor began studying
karate at Fabiano's Karate School at age 6, and was winning tournaments by the
following year.  At age 8 he was asked to represent the U.S. in the 12 and under
division at the World Karate Association, where he won three gold medals as Junior
Forms and Weapons champion.  In 2003 he was ranked #1 in the world for NASKA's Black
Belt Open Forms, Musical Weapons, Traditional Weapons and Traditional Forms, and
had won three Junior World Championships by the time he was 12.  

A the age of 7, Taylor became interested in acting after his marital arts instructor
got him to audition for a Burger King ad.  Although Taylor didn't get the part, he
wanted to continue to audition for roles and pursue a career in acting.  When
commuting between Michigan and California became too much for the family, they
decided to relocate to Los Angeles so that Taylor would be able to audition on a
full-time basis.  Since his move, Taylor has been very successful in both films and
television, appearing in "My Wife and Kids," "The Bernie Mac Show," and "Cheaper By
the Dozen 2."  Taylor will next be seen in the TV series "My Own Worst Enemy," and
as Jacob Black in "Twilight."             

Jacob Black is the son of Billy Black and is Bella's friend (who is about two years
his senior).  A member of the Quileute tribe of La Push, Jacob is a minor character
in Twilight, though his role is expanded greatly in subsequent books.  Bella flirts
with him in order to learn more about the Cullen family, where he reveals his
tribe's legends about the "cold ones."  Ultimately, we learn that Jacob is a
werewolf and a bitter enemy of the Cullens.
