Taylor Lautner is Jacob Black!

It has been confirmed in an article released by the Peninsula Daily News today that Taylor Lautner is playing Jacob Black in Twilight! The article also discusses some of the filming schedule, and confirms that they will be filming in LaPush!
Fix is hair and i might be a little less disappointed then i am 🙁

omg…i’m soo disappointed…Taylor doesnt look right…he’s absolutly not lookin like my jacob…nd the way he behaves jacob…even the way he talks…the girl at de top is right…steven strait is much better for jacob is more like an adult…nd in de other books jake has 2 look more like a real male….
omgsh… kay… everyone needs to CHILL. a lot of people are complaining about how taylor looks too skinny or small or whatever to be jacob. but you need to realize that he just turned sixteen like, three months ago, and a lot of the full body pictures of him on the internet is from like, a couple of YEARS ago. and in this picture, you can only see his FACE so you cannot judge how the rest of his body looks purely on this picture. also, he IS a very good actor and although he may not be native american, it’s called MOVIE MAGIC you know, they can do pretty much anything to actors nowadays to fit their roles so just lay off taylor cuz the movie will be great!
Taylor Lautner is best person for Jacob Black. I think that he should of been the main character. Taylor is soooooo hot!
My goodness. My daughter and I have been GOOGLING like mad for info regarding the movie. My original intent was to pre-read the book to see if it was to grown up for her or not, but then I had to know what happened next… and read all three in 4 nights. While she doesn’t know names of actors…even at her young age she was able to say that Pattinson (after I told her “he played Cedric”), while a talented young actor that he is, does NOT fit the description given by the author. I most certainly would have preferred to see a beefier version. My daughter and I both agree that Edward needs to be more… muscular. Who would have fit the description more would have been TAYLOR KITSCH, HENRY CAVILL, or CHANNING TATUM. I would also agree that I would have liked to have seen someone of NA origin playing as Jacob. For Jacob, while Taylor is cute, that’s just it. He’s “cute”. Posey or Strait would have fit the bill much better. Last but not least… Alice. I’ve no idea who the girl playing Alice is.. AND THAT’S FINE. You can’t have the entire movie being big names. You gotta get your break somewhere ya know. BUT… from the photos she doesn’t look girly enough. I would have never thought of it off the top of my head, but we saw it suggested elsewhere, and agree, that RACHEL LEIGH COOK woulda been perfect. *sigh*… so there is our two cents worth! 🙂
Alright. There is really no point complaining about who is going to be playing the parts now. They’ve already decided, and have already finished filming. They would obviously not pick somebody if they sucked. I’m sure that the cast will do an amazing job.
Taylor will do a great job, otherwise (as I said) he would not have been picked.
okay….. taylor willl do an awsome job..i mean why would they have picked him. Not sure about robert though…he doesn’t remind me of edward. He needs to fix his hair, it doesn’t look at all like how they describe it in the book. Plus he isn’t pretty enough, he’s suposed to be “god like”.

you people need to stop trash talking taylor. he is hot! and you guys should just see the movie before you start assuming that “they ruined the movie” or taylor and robert cant act.. you have no idea how they are going to do. so yeah. oh yeah taylor was only 13 when he played in sharkboy and lavagirl. he just started acting. plus he wasnt even that bad.
We have to remember that Jacob is scrawny in the first book, and they could possibly get new actors for the upcoming books because Jacob’s look does change. I think he’s a good choice for now, but we’ll have to see. Anyone who saw the preview for the movie can see that Robert can act and I personally believe that he will be fabulous.

Taylor IS partially partially Native American. He said that in one of his MTV interviews for Twilight. You can find it on youtube if you missed it… I think Steven Strait would have been a better choice for Jacob, but he couldn’t play the role of a fifteen year old, although he could play Jacob in Eclipse. BUT if they did have Steven Strait as Jacob- girls would go crazy over him more than they would go crazy over Robert P. as Edward lol. Just go watch The Covenant and you’ll see what I mean…
Hey guys seriously calm down here!!! You guys haven’t even seen the movie and already you are complaining about the cast. Heck what is wrong with Taylor Lautner as Jacob. Personally I don’t like the actual character Jacob, but this guys looks like he will channel him perfectly. sure he will have to bulk up and grow a couple inches, but oh well. Such as the controversy stupid people complained about over Ashley Greene’s and Jackson Rothbones hair. Complainging that it was the wrong color and the wrong style. OMG, that is aboutt he most stupid thing ever! Or everyone complaining that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were not what they imagined as Bella and Edward. Has anyone ever taken into consdiration that Bella and Edward are characters Stephenie Meyer had dreamed up? She said that she loves the people chosen to play Bella and Edward. And if the author aproves them, that’s all right with me! I think that they are both extraordinary beautiful people. Over all, people were upset with the cast.
I am going to laugh when all of you eat your words and slap your face a million times for being stupid when all of these actors prove you WRONG this December!! Especially Bella, Edward, and Jacob! Seriosuly could you PLEASE ease up a little? Quit nit picking over Every Little Thing about the movie! Be a supportive TWILIGHTER and give the cast a chance!
Oh One last comment, have you guys even seen the exclusive clip? Maybe you should take a look at Bella and Edward and see how wonderfully they fit their characters. Like Stephenie Meyer said, Robert and Kristen are channeling Bella and Edward like nobody’s buisness.
Although I said Steven Strait is a better Jacob I have no problem with Taylor. Your 100% Milly. I think they are fine for the role. Besides we all imagine the characters differently. For example any guy who they chose to play Edward would have haters because we think he his like the most perfect and handsomest guy in the world. We all think Jacob should be super hot + super tall but its not easy finding a 6’7″ hot Native American boy. I think the books are better than the movies. Movies are just a side bonus but the books are what matter most. The characters you imagine are worth so much more than the ones used in the movies. So yeah don’t freak about who plays who because in your mind you already have the perfect cast for the characters- you don’t need your characters to be verified as the exact people who play in the movie because it’s the book that matters most. lol I mean without the book who would know how Bella, Jake, or Edward would have to look like.
i hate the whole cast. no1 is right. emmett in my opinion is close but robert pattison 4 edward is just wrong. i hate bella and rosalie isnt even pretty. jasper just doesnt seem right and bella……well i saw some previews 4 the movie and shes not very good.

Well I’m not the biggest fan of Jacob, I just want him to find his imprint and leave Bella alone. I think/hope he’ll be a good Jacob Black. I think right now that he’s good, because in Twilight he’s just supposed to be a normal 16 year old. And he is, plus he’s got a six pack… and he’s cute enough to be Jacob. Hopefully he’ll be a good actor, and maybe boost up a few inches by the time they do New Moon and Eclipse. ;D
Oh I forgot to say this part… Does anyone know his nationality? It said somewhere he’s white… so I was wondering because he just has… darker skin… not to be offensive or anything I was just… wondering.
well… ipersonally dont like the casting for alice. she supposed to be short and petit. the girl they picked for her is much to grown and shes not short enough.
jacob black is supposed to be big and muscular…..taylor launter is not. hes cute and i dont doubt his acting skills all im saying is that he better go through a monster growth spurt.

I think that Taylor is fine enough for Jacob Black, he should be bigger though, I agree with previous comments. But there are sooo many cool gadgets in movie making that I’ll bet they will make him look bigger if need be. I agree 100% with some comments, you should NOT diss the characters based on their appearance. If “Edward” has the same sexy personality that he does in the book then everyone will see past his face and actually enjoy the movie. It’s obviously never going to be as great as the book because in books you can imagine what you want to about whats happening and what everything is supposed to look like. GET OVER IT! If you don’t want to see certain actors in the movie, well then stay out of the theatre, it’s that simple.
I hope they find someone new for New Moon and Eclipse.

I think Taylor will make a great Jacob Black =) Then again, I’m a total Jacob fan and Taylor is on my Top Ten Hot Guys List xP lolz
But come on. Whoever said that thing with “if Bella was -different nationailites here-” then we’d all riot and “if Jacob’s not Native” then we’d be fine with it: HELL-OH! Taylor’s the closest they may have found to a good actor that can play and look the part of Jacob. As for Bella, if she was Japanese or something that would be…wow. Unless you live in Japan, then it may seem more normal. -insert shrug here-
The casting directors have different images in their minds on what the Cullens, Pack, and all other characters look like. Then they have to find these people to actually make the movie–and the people have to be able to play the part, not only look it.
So give ’em a break. Unless you want to go back in time, magically give yourself the job of casting director, fire all these people, get new peoples for the job. If you can. Pretty big “if” there XD
Basically, we all have to wait to see the movie. I don’t know about you, but I’m wanting to see how Taylor Lautner pulls of Jacob Black and how Robert Pattinson pulls of Edward Cullen. (The whole time I see him on screen I’m gonna be thinking “Harry Potter, Cedric Diggory” lolz)
