Taylor Lautner is Jacob Black!

It has been confirmed in an article released by the Peninsula Daily News today that Taylor Lautner is playing Jacob Black in Twilight! The article also discusses some of the filming schedule, and confirms that they will be filming in LaPush!
okay heres my little rant…
on robert pattinson, i think hes a good edward.
on taylor whatshisname, steven strait is a far superior jacob. the spiky hair makes him look like a 12 year old wannabe. honestly.
steen strait in my opimion should replace him in at least new moon coz thats where jacob really plays a role. and ecplipse. and lets see for braeking dawn shall we?

Taylor is so adorable, have you seen his interviews…there so cute. He is so excited to play Jacob and his personality is exactly like Jacob. He’s done research on the Tribe and has had interviews with Stephanie to get her personal insight on Jake.
Plus you can’t judge him on a movie he did when he was 11 years old. He’s 16 now and none of us have actually seen him act yet in Twilight. You can’t judge what you have not seen
I’m honestly happy with Taylor portraying the character Jacob Black. I know the fact that he isn’t Native American bothers some people and I could understand why. However, the authenticity of ethnicity doesnt not indicate if that person is a good actor. I still object to Kristen getting the role of Bella. … Nevertheless, I think that he could truely personify Jacob’s nature easily.But that remains to be seen ; 125 days to be exact. However , the extent of his acting would be showcased when New Moon is released.

and as for edward… i dont really like who they picked… then again it may be that i still have the grudge against him 4 leaving bella…. so i guess i think its and ok choice, but i wasnt ever really into harry potter movies so i dont remember how well his acting skills r…. but he may just be the 1 actor they found that had the looks and the skills so every1 just needs to shut up till they c the movie. :]

Alice looks too old and so does Jasper (plus he looks gay!!!!! EWWW!!!) no offense to gay ppl but the book sais that he’s in love w/Alice and alice is a GIRL. Also, the actor for Emmet is frigin WRONG!!! wat happend to da curly black hair?!?!?!?!and ths dude looks like he’s 30!!!! Rosalie is O.K. but she also looks WAY 2 OLD!!!!!!! i haven’t seen carlisle or esme, but i picture them in their 30’s

i don’t know how to feel about taylor being jacob. i wish he looked more N.A. because that’s part of the mystique in the books. there’s a sort of beauty in jacob’s classic looks. i pictured him as looking kinder and somehow- deeper. but, if he does a good job with the character it won’t matter in the least to me.
Maddy, your smart! Emmett is really bad for the part! his eyes aare too small!!!!!!!! Also i think the person playing jacob is not good becuase his hair should be alittle longer and be brown not black. EDWARD IS LIFE!

i think taylor is the perfect person to play jacob, i mean he may not be all husky and big but he doesnt have to be just yet. this movie is called twilight, its only the first book. he becomes a wolf in new moon. so until then he is the perfect character to play jacob.

whoever beth is needs to go away! this book is the best book ever and they better get the characters to look close to the ppl in the book. i think that jacob should be more…native. also i think alice is an awfull choice! the hair is right but the face isnt as cute as alices is in the book.
Oh, by the way, I don’t think Stephanie Meyer has much choice over the actors Beth. It’s the directors and the other important peoples within the movie. Stephanie Meyer I think just is kinda there. Maybe whats his face will be an ok Jacob. I’m looking at his picture, and I could see him as jacob…

Compare Steven Strait with Taylor Lautner n the former is definitely the better actor – the only catch is that he doesn’t look sixteen. At the other end, I feel that until know, Taylor hasn’t been in a movie that required much acting prowess..so we’ll just have to wait and see if he encapsulates the essence of Jacob.
Ok i do agree that it’s unfair that a native american was not cast; rightly said, the character deserves it but there’s nothing we can do about it is there. As HUMANE beings let’s try and not be overly superficial and give Taylor a chance!
However, I would just like to make a point that Dan Brown envisioned George Clooney as Robert Langdon in The Da Vinci Code. True, Tom Hanks is a good actor but he didn’t pull off the charisma that the literary Langdon does in the book albeit with the help of his “chocolate looks” A balance btwn appearance and characterisation is most important.
As for Robert Pattinson as Edward. Comparing him with Tom Sturridge, I see how he could be Edward but out of the two Robert and his crooked smile ^_^ comes across as attractive and yet can be scary the next minute. Tom looks almost too perfect. Again the most important part is how well he portrays Edward..and judgement day is Dec 12th
Kristen Stewart is an interesting choice – her beauty grows on you – but i wonder who else they had in mind to play Bella. Does anyone have any alternatives to suggest?
i think that he was a good choice for Jacob in twilight i cant wait until the movie comes out its gana be great i hope they make movies for the other 3 books!!! I love Edward!!! 😀
neharika, I know that stephanie meyer considered emily browning from the series of unfortunate events movie, danielle panabaker and ellen page (Juno) for the part of bella. Personally, I believe Kristen Stewart was and is and will be the best choice for Bella. I’m so excited for 12/12!!
I LOVE TWILIGHT! I THINK THAT BELLA WAS A PRETTY GOOD CHOICE. I THINK THEY COULD HAVE MADE VICTORIA HAVE MORE RED HAIR. HER HAIR IN THE BOOK IS LIKE BRIGHT RED AND THE CHARACTER THEY CHOSE IS LIKE BLONDISH HAIR.
So, I think (and I might be really wrong here, but that’s how it is for me) that Stephenie Meyer portrayed (but didn’t really describe) Edward as this perfect being. Perfect. So naturally, I don’t think anyone out there would be fitting enough to play the ‘perfect Edward’ we have stuck in our minds, i.e. I don’t really like the idea of Robert Pattinson playing Edward either. Not like I have much say in the decision, but still.
And as for Jacob Black…well…I *really* hope that he gets bigger. I don’t know *how*, and I don’t care, but by New Moon and Eclipse, I wouldn’t want to feel like they’ve cheated me by providing an inaccurate version of my beloved Jacob.
You are so true Rae! i think that is the same thing for Rosalie because she is described as the most beautiful being on earth so it is hard to find a character that can match up to that.

okay i’m gunna sound like a complete wennie but, i think the movie producers are going to ruin twilight. The movie producers a;most ruined harry potter by leaving out some important things and i have a feeling they are gunna do the same to this one. I just think that are gunna ruin it. = (. But the only characters i think look think the real characters are Esme and Charisle.
I agree with Emma about Charlisle but i don think Esme is how i would picture her. The character they chose isnt motherly enough. i think Jacob is not the best choice because i can not imagine him turning into a werewolf.

Edward is supposed to be like a god well in my mind and jasper is supposed to be cuter roselie is supposed to be have fiecer face structures Victoria is supposed to have FIERCE RED HAIR not light red hair. i dont think that they would take actors that stephanie meyer diddnt approve of. she may not have been in casting, but sahe obviously had a say in some part of it. as for alice i totally agree. and emmet and rosalie. rosalie is supposto be way prettier than nikki who-ever is. so i meet you half way at least :):). and by the way—– no f-u i will not go away-ur not the only one who can have a strong oppinion, about something that ther passionate about.
also they changed the release date of twilight to nov.21st i think because harry potter backed out!! :D:D:D
Okay, so sure some people do disagree about the chosen cast members. Too bad. They have been chosen.
And YES, I think that Stephenie Meyer WAS helping during casting sessions because she is the one who wrote the book, after all. It’s her book and she imagined Edward to look like Robert Pattinson so I guess that’s why he’s cast as Edward Cullen.
But (this is PURELY my opinion) I believe that Edward should have such qualities:
1. Deep, memorizing caramel-coloured gold eyes that make you get lost in them.
2. Thick bronze-coloured short hair with side bangs to cover one eye as to create a mysterious demeanor.
3. Very subtle features on a snow-white face almost too beautiful. Yet his face is very subtly gorgeous.
4. Always wears either a white textured turtleneck sweater with dark pants and brown shoes, OR a white dress shirt and a black vest with dark pants and brown shoes.
All of this is strictly MY opinion.
I’m not particularly satisfied with Robert as Edward, he seems too creepy. It’s just…. UGHHHH…. I think that guy that is playing Jasper should’ve played Edward because of his look. Just fix his hair and he’s good!
Jacob looks fine (actually kinda hot) but I think he’s a little too attractive to play a trustworthy shapeshifting pal. (Remember, he’s not technically a werewolf.)
Though, I’m really excited to see what the crew can do to make this as successful as the book!
Since the books are written as one long fabulous journey through Bella’s unusual life, it is difficult sometimes to separate them from each other. But if you recall, Jacob’s part in book one was very small. He was a 15 year old with a crush on Bella who was telling her a legend of his people (werewolves and vampires). It was not until 1/3 of the way through the second book that he began to change and get big. This guy is perfect for the first movie. And not being a “Native American” (which restricts the acting pool for the next movie) allows him to be replaced by someone larger and harder for the next movies.
i personally think that they found THE MOST PERFECT jacob i could possibly imagine them finding 😀
It’s Cool that they got this guy for Twilight, but he seriously needs to grow out his hair! the book said that Jacob black always had his hair pulled back in a pony tail, and if this guys hair isn’t long enough, how are they gonna pull that off?! Edward is OKAY, but i wish they got someone else. i normally wouldn’t even use Robert Pattison and Edward in the same sentance. When i see him, i can’t help thinking of him as Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter.
