It has been confirmed in an article released by the Peninsula Daily News today that Taylor Lautner is playing Jacob Black in Twilight! The article also discusses some of the filming schedule, and confirms that they will be filming in LaPush!

No offense “Aleks Cullen” but Robert Patinson doesn’t look a thing like Eward Cullen. His hair isn’t even dark enough, hes not tall enough….and he is so not dreamy! But then i agree with you about Bella. Who ever is playing her is terrible!!!!

He is great for a young Jacob…perfect…for the other books when he gets older Steven Strait should be Jacob…I cant wait…love the books and so Extactic about the movie…I think all the characters were well chosen Even Bella. I read many complaints…but she has the emotion, the voice, and the character is Bella…i love them all!! GREAT CHOICE!!!!!!!!

Lol, so like yeah, basically, none of the actors are what thet should look like, but the problem is, since we all read the book first, we all have different views of the characters in our heads, so no matter what, someone’s gonna be mad, It’s like Eragon, the movie was horrible. If these people were smart, then they would have done the movie before the book. so we might as well be happy that the characters are hot XD

1) Edward is perfect in Bella’s eyes. Other girls in the books find him attractive, but they are also kinda scared of the Cullens. Bella not only finds Edward attractive, but she is drawn to him in a personal sense. So, Edward doesn’t have to be drop dead gorgeous to everyone. Honestly, the only one who needs to think that way is Bella. And I think Robert Pattinson is a good match onscreen to Kristin Stewart. At first, I wasn’t sure about his either, but after seeing the 2nd trailer and other photos from the movie, I think he’s a good pick.
2) Taylor Lautner is a good Jacob Black. First of all, Steven Strait is hot, but I’ll always remember him from that awful movie “The Covenant.” :shudder: I liked that they picked mostly ‘unknowns’ to play roles in the film. I hate when the pick pick people for roles that have been in EVERYTHING! For example. Rachel Leigh Cook would have totally annoyed me as Alice onscreen. All I would be thinking about is “Oh that’s the girl from She’s All That.” It doesn’t allow people to become engrossed in the film. That’s just my opinion. Also, Jacob is supposed to be what 14/15 in Twilight? Taylor is perfect for that. He said in an interview that he’s gong to bulk up for New Moon. Heck, he may even have a growth spurt by then!
I’m relatively pleased with the cast. And, like I said before, I liked that they chose relative unknowns (asside from Kristin and Robert) for the cast. Too many movies have been ruined by casting stars in roles that don’t suit them (Tom Cruise as Lestat in ‘Interview with a Vampire,’ Halle Berry in ‘X-Men,’ George Clooney in ‘Batman and Robin’…although that movie didn’t need bad casting to make it awful). So…since we have no control over casting, I suggest everyone take a deep breathe and relax. If you are going to see the movie and pay money for it, then just enjoy it. If you are so mad that you can’t stand it, don’t go see the movie. If you are determined to make a stand, not that it matters, stick to it.
I am really mad, because in the book Edward is supposed to be really hot and Jacob is supposed to be ugly. And it makes me mad that it is the opposite in the movie!!!
Ok to the person at the top of this page that made reference to Jacob being an “aboriginal”…what? Huge difference between the Native American and Aborigines, darling. They’re not even on the same continent.
Anyways, I think people need to stop complaining. I find myself laughing at the people bitching about Robert Pattinson playing Edward because Edward is supposed to look like a god. Please…tell me of one HUMAN actor that looks like a god. I’m interested. The directors have to work with what they can and that’s HUMANS. Very un-godlike creatures.

I just watched somethin and taylor did say he was part native. so yeah, i see the whole point bout castin non natives for native roles, it is pretty degrading, but taylor is hottt, and even if he didn’t have native in him, it would be all good, especially cuz for the longest time i thought he was mexican or latin, i mean what a shock when i found out he was white! lol! but he said that he has native in him ottawa and potawatomi!
