“Fans of Twilight should thank their lucky stars director Catherine Hardwicke’s shaping the film version of the hit Stephenie Meyer novel about teen love and vampires at an isolated Washington State high school.
Here’s why. Hardwicke says that when she was first hired to do the movie she was given a preliminary script that altered lots. For one thing, the lead Bella wasn’t awkward or lonely but a popular track star. For another, the FBI showed up which reduced the Twilight climax to a typical action flick.”

I’m glad the director wanted it to resemble the book. That would have been really disappointing if it were way off base!
