Do you think there is some wishful thinking here with the picture I used?  YOU BETCHYA!

This week we discuss the parallels between Twilight and Pride & Prejudice!  We also have a special guest, Nicole, on the show telling us about the Breaking Dawn discovery she brought to our attention earlier this week!  There are no silly outtakes this week, but it is because I left most of the silly stuff in…especially towards the end of the show!  This week’s music is ‘Memorized’ by Josh Woodward.  Have a great week!

    Lovely podcast ladies.
Wish I had more to say but I’m not feeling well…the podcast did make my night wonderful.

  2. Bella says:

    Dear Twilight Series Theories,

I just wanna say thanks for being a great fan site. The thing I like best about your site is that you don’t treat the fandom like you OWN it, like you were the first fans ever and everybody better bow down to your possessive fan superiority. There are no jealous subtext reminders within your posts. I’m serious. Thanks for Just Being Fans and sharing all the lovely, wonderful info and excitement just for the love of it. You really rock that way. Keep it up!

    Hey Guys,
    Great Podcast!
First time to hear it & loved it… I am a HUGE PRIDE & PREJUDICE fan… love Jane Austen.
I can totally see what you are talking about with similarities between P&P and Twilight.

Okay, so your “Theories” on Breaking Dawn, i really like.
I noticed in ALL of Stephanie’s books that she leaves something open (unanswered) and then answers something in each of her books.
So i was thinking, what is it she has not answered.
    1. Denali, we hear about them, we just don’t see them that much or have interaction, i feel strongly that they surely will be a part of Breaking Dawn. I mean we had to wait til Eclipse to hear more about Rosalie…
    2. Volturi, they are the Bad … of the vampire world, Breaking Dawn is the last book of the Saga from Bellas POV, so what is the one thing that is bigger than ALL the other books, that can bring conclusion to Bella’s POV? Volturi.
    3. Jacob, not gone. Not by a long shot. I have put peace to the knowledge that Jacob will not be with Bella, but is Jacob really the guy we know as the one to run from a fight? To play by the rules? Nope. Hell hath no fury like a werewolves scorn.
    4. Another Climatic happening, (possible happening) is Bella’s transformation. It’s obvious from the beginning that she will become a Vampire. I think it will be towards the early part of the book or middle, mainly because she has sat back far to long playing damsel in distress, and I think this will trigger a chain of events from every corner. Also we MUST know if she has any special gifts, If her transformation was at the end… well … I dunno.

Thats it. Haha, sorry so long.

I’m listening to your podcast right now and I like your comparisons between Pride & Prejudice and Twilight. What really gives me the giggles, though, is your discussion about the nicknames Bella and Lizzie – I just wanted to tell you that Isabella is actually Italian for Elisabeth/Elizabeth. 😉 So, that’s another similarity.

    I love your theories! 😀

  7. Jessica loves Edward says:

    You guys rock! Thanks 🙂

  8. kymesha says:

    im listening right now….

    u rock, ppls.

  9. kymesha says:

    I have a comment.

The 3 love stories that u r comparing the series to are often referred to in the stories.

    1. Twilight– When Bella gets bored, she wants to read a collection of Jane Austin to keep her mind off of Edward. [it was odd–i was reading the same thing at the time] She choose not to read P&P b/c it was her fave and the one she read most recently. [FYI she didnt read S&S b/c of Edward being the hero and the other stoy b/c of Edwin or something like that]

    2. New Moon–do I have to say? The constant references to R&J is WAY to obvious

    3. Eclipse–Edward asks Bella why she likes Wuthering Heights and why she rereads it a lot.

    4. I theorize that Breaking Dawn will have something referenced to/paralled.

  10. kymesha says:

    Mr. Darcy all the way!!!!

[or i’d get edward to change me, I’d find a way to go back in time, get Darcy till he dies, then go back for edward. =D]

  11. kymesha says:

    I just heard the QOTW.

    [sorry for the constant comments]

You didn’t mention Rosealie and Emmett. So I must say, they have to be the best.

R and E are equals. R and J are too–wealthy families and good looks.

Rosealie is gorgeous and was waiting for the right dude. But at the same time, her parents tried to match her up with another awesome guy. She is described by her lover as an angel on multiple occasions [yet i have not seen the more recent movie version, i’ve seen pictures of juliet with wings o.O] She has a stiff/stubborn personality, but opens up to a select few. She would die for Emmett.

Emmett, by random chance, finds this angel. He immediatly falls in love. He has nothing to loose, so gives himself to her.

As for the breaking dawn saying…

    Finding true love

    Loosing true love

    Choosing true love

    Binding true love

I thought it should rhyme–loose/choose ; find/bind, and it was the first word I thought of. It fit amazingly. =D

Great job this week, as always! love it! And the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice is the best! all my friends like the Keira Knightly one but i always vote for the Colin Firth one, its amazing!

  14. kirsty 15 Scotland says:

    Hey loved your podcast

i just wanted to say what i think the theme of Breaking Dawn is going to be
i think it will be saving or protecting love as Edward and Bella have never actually had to fight to protect there love

  15. kelly says:

    HAHA! love the pic!!!!!!!!

  16. Wendy says:

Awesome podcast!! The last one was HILARIOUS with Kassie at the end!!

I love both of your ideas for Breaking Dawn in this podcast! I agree too, because the Denali family is probably not just ticked off about Laurent, but I think Tanya will be definitely annoyed about Bella. If it does come to war and ends up being something like the werewolves and Cullens against the Denali clan and the Volturi, I have an idea about who Tanya would go after first… Although it sounds good, I don’t think Stephenie would write about the Cullens and werewolves fighting side by side AGAIN…

  17. Bekah says:

once again delightful podcast ladies. you get props definetely!

  18. Katie says:

Hey, love your podcast! I just have a comment on the upcoming Breaking Dawn book.

So, if any of you are familiar with the story of Wuthering Heights, you would know why I am concerned right now. Of course I am an Edward fan, but I am not sure as to whether Bella will end up with him or Jacob. Here’s my reasoning – Edward would play the stableboy, Heathcliff, and Jacob would be Edgar, the man who Catherine (Bella) was childhood friends with. Catherine’s true love is obviously Heathcliff, but the circumstances of their love are much like Edward’s and Bella’s. They have barriers, either with society, or being human and vampire. When Heathcliff (Edward) goes away for a long time, Catherine (Bella) ends up marrying Edgar (Jacob). However, when he returns, it is obvious that they still love eachother but they cannot be together. In the end, Catherine (Bella) ends up dying because of a mental breakdown, with Heathcliff with her until her dying moments, not Edgar.

haha I really hope you followed that. But I have been really worried that either Bella will die or that she will end up being with Jacob, although her true love has clearly always been Edward. Any feedback would be great.

  19. AAB says:

Gosh i love pride and prejudice
the only reason i read twilight because i saw that stephenie likes P&P.
but im sorry 2 say, that twilight doesnt get to the ankle of pp…
and Edward is not Darcy! and will never be! sorry…
and ….colin firth*sigh*! I have a huge crush on him!

  20. M_T_M says:

    You know how you said…
    Finding true love

    Loosing true love

    Choosing true love

well then you said eternal love.

Now what I think is that could be possible, but, I think that there could also be others.

    As in
    Giving true love
makeing somewhat of a conection to midsummer nights dream.

    Hope that helped
    thank you for the podcasts.
    they are great
