Question of the Week ~ Romeo & Juliet
May 22nd, 2008 | By Kallieross | Category: Question of the Week
So, what couple from Twilight do you think is most like Romeo & Juliet? And why? Let’s think…
Edward & Bella?
Carlisle & Esme?
Jasper & Alice?
Emmett & Rosalie?
James & Victoria?
Ben & Angela?
Mike & Jessica… (Nahhhh!)
So, Comment here and let us know what you think!
The obvious choice would be Bella and Edward simply because of the forbidden love between them. In Twilight, the couple’s love is against nature itself. Edward explains to Bella that most humans feel a natural aversion when vampires are around, and that because she loves him, there is something wrong. In Romeo and Juliet, although the forbidden love is caused by fighting families instead of human nature, the impossibility seen by both that this could happen parallels.
The other vampire couples in the novel relate to this other infamous match in less of the forbidden love way but more of the eternal love way, that surpasses death itself, so to speak. Even the “nomads” love for each other -James and Victoria-have it in the sense that Victoria would do anything to avenge her love’s death.
On a totally different note, I had an idea that you could bring someone on (me maybe?? contact me!) to talk about the Host, seeing as Kassie hasn’t finished yet. I finished about a week ago, and haven’t had anyone to discuss it with. Think about it!

Edward and Bella…duh.
Rosalie even refers to Edward as Romeo in New Moon (this might only be in stephenie’s outtakes) when she is talking to Alice. This is after Alice sees Edward going to Italy after Rosalie told him that Bella was dead.
Bella practically dies (emotionally) when Edward leaves. They cannot live without eachother.
Even though they aren’t from families that hate eachother, they are from two VERY different families (vampire and non-vampire). This makes their relationship more of a struggle, similarly to Romeo and Juliet’s.
Actually, I think that the Jacob-Bella relationship is very RomeoandJulietish (even if I don’t like it) than with Edward and Bella. I’m still reading New Moon, but I have some ideas anyway.
Bella probably feels as if she is betraying the Cullens, as Juliet with her family, by befriending Jacob, a werewolf. I think that it much more strong than her going against her non-vampire family to be with Edward, considering that she might feel as if she is betraying the vampires by being with their enemy. The humans never actually knew that Edward was a vampire in the first place, and were supportive about the relationship. The same goes for Jacob and Bella, except the Cullens, who could be considered family to Bella, would not want her to be with a werewolf.
I don’t know if this will make sense to anyone besides me, but hey, you never know. 🙂
I agree with Alexandra Landers…
plain and simple..
Edward is a gorgeous boy…and i picture romeo being the same..
Bella is too precious for her own good..so is juliet..
The odds are always against them.
But they continue to fight.
Through pain, tears, blood, parents, and love.
They’ll make it!
Well I think Edward & Bella:
In simple sentences,
Seeing how they both would do anything for to keep each other safe
Like in Eclipse when Bell tried to cut herself with a rock. To save Seth and EDWARD!
Or when in New Moon when Edward left Bella because he said it was for her own good, to keep her safe.
And when he found out from Jacob that charlie went to a funeral thinking that it was Bella’s, Edward tried to kill him self because he could not live with out Bella.
(Just like Juliet killed her self when Romeo died)
the couple that is most like romeo and juliet would have to be Edward and Bella. in the way that the odds are always stacked aganst them. There is a little of charlie not liking Edward but he thinks that carlisle and alice are angles so the two families hating eachother thing is out. one way of looking at it is that because billy and charlie have been friends for ever and bella has said how she thinks of jacob as a brother, billy and jacob are in a way her family and in that case there is the hatred between the wolf pack and the cullens. Stephine Meyer also compairs jacob to paris, The man that her father wants her to marry who also hates romeo. Lets face it charlie would be a lot happier if Bella said she was going to marry Jacob. i dont think that that means that breaking dawn will end in Edward and bella killing themselvs(we already covered that in New moon). they also have the whole unlikly lovers see eachother then cant be seperated. They would kill each themselfes if they had to live without eachother.
Edward thought bella was dead so he tried to kill himself .
Romeo thought Juliet was dead so he tried to kill himself(only he succeded)
I just think that there are different aspects of Twilight that remind me of Romeo and Juliet. For one thing, in Romeo and Juliet that Capulets and the Montagues hate eachother. That reminds me of vampires and werewolves, however Bella is not a werewolf, so that is out of the question :).
Another thing that I like is how one character in Romeo and Juliet is named Rosaline. This really reminds me of who else but…..ROSALIE!
The couple I think mostly resembles Romeo and Juliet is the obvious answer:
Bella and Mike Newton
JUST KIDDING!!!! :]
Bella and Edward. Their love for eachother is unconditional. Like Romeo, Edward is drawn to Bella as soon as he sees her (even if he does want to drink her blood)
Edward tries to kill himself after he hears of Bella’s plan, which is almost exactly what happens in Romeo and Juliet.
A difference that I can find between the characters of Romeo and Edward is that I find Romeo to be sort of a coward. He doesn’t save Juliet at any point in the book (even though there really isn’t that much of an oppurtunity). Romeo just seems like a coward to me- in his speech, actions, etc. Romeo also isn’t like Edward because he wants to get married and start a life right away, which isn’t at all what Ed wants (WHOOT WHOOT GO ED)
In the end, I think that New Moon is only slightly based on Romeo and Juliet because of the storyline, not the characters. By the way, I’m not like most twi-hards and I LOVE new moon. Probably because Jake is in it so much. Sorry, Kassie.
This is off topic but I really want to know what OTHER book Breaking Dawn is based on. I wonder if it’s Harry Potter!! Yeah, bella will go to Hogwarts and be swept away by Harry, and then Dumbledore will……
Yeahh its just a joke!!!
thanksss guys, i really love you, even if your accents are Oh So Texan!
hmmmmm I really had to think this week! (CRAP!) I’m not so sure as to who is the couple that matches Romeo and Juliet (maybe it will come to me as I write) But I know that Twilight books kind of match the story line. First, Romeo and Rosaline (Rosalie…….suspicious!) and then Edward falls in love with Bella. Both Romeo and Edward had to leave for a reason in the story and when they come back, they think their lover is dead. Following me? Then, they try to kill themselves. BUT, unlike Romeo and Juliet, the ending is not so tragic. So, now that I think about it, I think Bella and Jacob are sort of like Romeo and Juliet (even if they are not technically a couple) because they DID love each-other at a point (although to my dislike, i’m with Kassie) and they had a tragic end. You might find more cons to my theory than pros, but it was what made most since to me…….
I love you guys! Keep up the good work!
-PEACE,
Zoe
I think of course that Bella and Edward are most like Romeo and Juliet. But everyone already knows that of course. that is why twilight and Romeo and Juliet are so compelling because the couples loves are dangerouse and suductive. But i also think they are similar as to their movies . In the modendize version of Romeo and Juliet the Men are yummy and the women are compelling. Leonardo and Robert are both great actors ( and their beautiful to look at) Their leading ladies are good at what they do and look like every day ordinary girls that you can relate to. Like if they put someone like Kira Knightly who is gorgouse and very much celeberty like i think they’d be less relateable to. But don’t get me wrong i love kira knightly she is one of my favirote actresses.
Mike & Jessica
mike and Jessica’s relationship didn’t last. but in romeo and Juliet’s case, they died. Mike and jess just broke up. but still…
I think that Edward and Bella are the best fit for Romeo and Juliet. Because I am reading Romeo and Juliet and having read Twilight multiple times, I am finding more similaraties than I was ready for.
~Bella is like Juliet because she is still young and niave when it comes to love. In the begining of Twilight she was unsure about what to do with Edward. Also there is a Paris-like Jacob trying to win her poor human heart.
~Edward is like Romeo because he has realized that lust is more common than Love and has seen it play out in his life, maybe not by him causing it himself but encountering it along the way.
~Together Bella and Edward fit the Romeo and Juliet romantic tragedy of a relationship in a few ways… They are willing to die for one another as so clearly shown in New Moon and not so clearly in Eclipse. In a way they are in rivaling groups because of the whole vampires being a risk to humans thing. And Jacob try as he might is still not getting his Juliet (much to my Team Jacob dismay), but o think he will keep fighting untill she dies, she becomes imortal or he himself is unable to fight. As he said “Untill your heart stops beating Bella, I’ll be here fighting”. But we all know that Edward is going to get the girl, Bella is going to be a vampire. So in a round about way our beloved Twilight characters are going to end up the same way as in Romeo and Juliet… The main two are going to be dead and the wanna-bemale protagonist will never get his way.
Love your show! Keep on informing the world about the awesomness of Twilight!!!
So I guess everyone here believes that Romeo and Juliet are portrayed by Edward and Bella, I’m sorry for everyone out there who’s getting tired of hearing that. Mine’s a bit diffrent though. I’m sorry if this isn’t very deep thinking like some of you, I’m not that good of a deep thinker. To answer this question I believe that Bella is like Romeo, Jacob like Juliet and Edward like Rosaline. You see, I’m getting my thinking from the fact that at the start of the play, Romeo liked Rosaline. (Bella likes Edward), but something happens in the play, don’t remember what, and he doesn’t like her anymore(Edward leaves and Bella is alone).
Now alone, romeo finds Juliet(Bella starts to hang out with Jacob). The two of them get togeather and form good relationships. Then, later on, they are not allowed to hang out with eachother because of their family problems(in New moon because Jacob is turning into a werewolf). That was my first idea.
I have a second Idea as well. Remember when Romeo thought that Juliet was dead b/c she had drunk that sleeping potion? When he saw her he drank a poison that killed him. This is sort of like how when Bella goes cliff jumping and alice ‘sees’ her and thinks she’s commiting suicide. When romeo, or Edward hears of this, he goes off to italy to kill himself.
One more thing, sorry if your getting bored. In chapter 16 (paris) Bella actually talks about R+J. About p. 370. Bella had just jumped off the cliff and is wondering how Juliet would have felt if Romeo had stayed with Rosaline. she “wondered if she [Juliet(Bella)] would have married Paris(Jacob) in the end.”
I thought that was interesting because of todays question of the week.
Thanks for reading this.
Definitely Edward and Bella. The two would die for each other, and would not be able to live without each other. Edward was under the impression that Bella was dead, and he tried to kill himself. (Romeo killed himself when he thought Juliet was dead). While Bella was on the way to save Edward, she had told herself that if she didnt get there in time, she wouldn’t go on without Edward. (Juliet killed herself when she awoke and found Romeo dead). Charlie does not want Bella with Edward because he left her in New Moon, and Edward isnt allowed to be with Bella by law, but is anyways. (Capulets and Montagues, need i say more?) Edward stands outside her window and listens to her talk in her sleep, watches her sleep, he also hears her say she loves Edward in her sleep. (Romeo stands outside Juliet’s balcony and listens to her profess her love to him out loud to herself).
I’m sorry, but none
I hate romeo and juliet
they are extremley shallow
I mean seriousley, he just sees her for the first time and says “oh I love you!” soooo stupid
I mean she could have had a happy marrige with that Paris guy, he could have been nice understanding, not like that stupid romeo. Edward cares so much more about bella than romeo for juliet. Romeo kills her cousin right after the wedding
he really know how to srew up peoples lives
wait! I’ve had an epiphany!
Romeo is just like Jacob, he sees bella for the first time and realizes he’s in love, than later, well much later in twilight’s case
he decides he loves her sooo much and persues her,
juliet was more willing than bella
he just screwed with edwards and bella’s realationship, messed up his own happiness and made everytinh a whole lot worse only to give up in the end. Screw Jacob he is just as bad as romeo
how did romeo and shallow juliet rank with couples like Mr. Darcy and Lizzy? Or Edward and Bella for that matter? Let me know, I’ll be listening
I would have to say Kassie and Jacob.
Their love for each other is something only comparable to the love between Romeo and Juliet. So unworldly…. it’s simply Shakespearian.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I just finished listening to the last podcast and I just had to submit it.
I totally agree with sarah. I couldn’t stand Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. I know its a book but it was just so annoying. I couldn’t understand how they would just want to marry at first sight. It was just a physical relationship and Romeo was just SOOO ANNOYING!!!! He reminds me of Mike (except I kinda like Mike for Comic Relief)
Reading Romeo and Juliet annoyed me so much. I love Shakespeare but reading about the relationship between Juliet and Romeo reminded me of Bella and Edward and that annoyed me soo much. I love Bella and Edward but I have to admit that FOR ME their relationship sometimes bored me.
I don’t know if you have already, but I think you guys should have a discussion on whether or not YOU would like to be a vampire and then ask us. Because I would love to hear your opinions on that matter.
Thanks guys for making such a great podcast!! I get really excited whenever I see a new episode!!
team underDOG (for me though, not bella. lol)
TWO WORDS!!
EDWARD = ROMEO
Kirsty from Scotland your answer is AWESOME!! you mentioned everything i was going to write and even some more its really detailed and it made me think Thanks 😀
Thank you Alexis I take it you mean my first one and not the one 2 above HAHA it took me quite a while to think of everything to write in it, i sat on the bus to school and wrote down everything in my notebook so that i could type it up when i got home HAHA !
Although I think that Edward and Bella definatley have the major qualities that Romeo and Juliet possess, in a way all the Cullen couples contain some of the qualites.
All the Cullens had love at first sight, all of them have undying love and all of them would die for the other.
Edward and Bella – although not love at first sight i think there was an unnatural pull with one another.
Alice and Jasper – Jasper walked into the cafe and Alice was there, they’ve been together ever since.
Rosalie and Emmett – Rosalie saved Emmett from the bear.
Carlisle and Esme – Carlisle changed Esme after she had lost her baby, life and family. They love each other more than words.
If one of them died i don’t think the other partner could survive or live without them. All of them are some form of Romeo and Juliet.
I’m gonna follow the crowd here by saying that I believe that Edward and Bella follow the Romeo and Juliet plot the best.
For one, the two of them shouldn’t be together, (i’m not saying I don’t want them together, but considering their species?) however they are, and nothing is going to change that.
Two, and this is mainly in New Moon — the whole confusion between the timing when Edward thinks Bella is dead but she’s not, and he goes off to kill himself. That is complete Romeo and Juliet, and we all know that that was the point.
My third point is that Bella is Juliet, and Edward, in turn, is Romeo. Bella would do anything for Edward, like Juliet to Romeo, and vise versa.
My fourth point is the romantic connection between Edward and Bella. The two are perfect for eachother, romantically, and with their friendship. Bella is like Jelly — always getting herself into sticky situations, whereas Edward is her Peanut Butter — always there to patch things up…
However, there are all the factors there to get in the way of their perfect, fairytale romance, just like in Romeo and Juliet. Families, friends, and unlike Shakespeares amazing play, their species…that is huge…
Thanks liv
I can’t believe some people actually think romeo and juliet are romantic. personally I think it’s sick and wrong, and extremley stupid(sorry shakespere)
Probably the closest thing to Romeo and Juliet in New Moom would be Edward and Bella. He, as a vampire, and she, as a human, are two beings that never should be together. Their match as it is cannot work well (until she becomes a vampire). But when Edward leaves her behind, the very devestating nature of her pain is Shakespeare poetic in its very nature. I don’t know about anyone else, but even after reading New Moon several times it still hurt terribly inside just to read her thoughts and try to understand how she feels.
And when Alice sees Bella jumping off the cliff and goes to find out what is going on and Rosalie tells Edward (then Edward speaks to Jacob and Jacob tells him that Charlie is at the funeral — mean Jacob!) the Romeo and Juliet theme is most evident. He thinks she is dead and cannot exist in a world without her, like when Romeo doesn’t get the message that Juliet’s (Bella’s) death wasn’t real and he offs himself at her tomb. Then, of course, Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead and kills herself. Bella knows that Edward WILL kill himself and is willing to lose her life to protect her beloved’s. But, unlike Shakespeare’s tragic duo, these two are very much still with us.
Some of the general ideas of Romeo and Juliet and perfect for Edward and Bella through the books. After Edward gets over his initial craziness when he sniffs Bella for the first time and he begins to be truly drawn to her and realizes (no matter how foolish he knows it is) begins to love her, you could almost hear him quoting Romeo — “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” And don’t forget the Volturi, not trusting the strength of the Cullens and (although not yet knowing about the pack) naturally hate wolves. They could be shouting “a plague on both your houses!”
The only other couple that could be closer to Romeo and Juliet would be if one of the wolves fell in love with a member of the Cullen family, which of course doesn’t exist (as of yet). Now that’s definately two groups that are closer to the mortal enemies (like the Capulets and Montagues), although they have created a sort of truce (like the Capulets and Montagues do after the death of both their children — hmm).
There is more than one who is like Romeo and Juliet. First of Edward and Bella are a given. They would both die for each other in a heart beat. Emmett & Rosalie I think would also to because they come from to total different backgrounds for example Rosaile when she was human came from a rich kind of family. Emment I am guessing came from middle class. Jasper and Alice have that unspoken love for each other that Romeo and Juliet seem to have. Carlisle and Esme have love at first site in a way. For Mike and Jessica
it’s like Count Paris in way. Juliet’s family wants her to be with Paris but she want’s to be with Romeo. Mike wants to be with Bella but everyone thinks that Jessica would be better for him. They are both in love with a relashionship(sp) that would be hard for the other person. For example: Mike and Bella. Bella want’s to be with Edward and not Mike. Juliet wants to be with Romeo but her family wants otherwise. In the end I think many more charaters in the book are like Romeo and Juliet.
But Alice and Jasper seem to have love at first site as well. Like Mike thought with Bella. In so many ways more than one everyone shows some Romeo & Juliet in them.
I would have to say Romeo and Juliet is mostly based off of Edward and Bella.
I haven’t seen Romeo and Juliet, only clips of it; what I have saw it made me think of Edward and Bella. Bella is like Romeo, because she would risk her own life to be close to Edward (Juliet) in any way possible. I know the genders are switched; but if you really think about it, it’s true.
The verisons I saw was the verison with Leonardo DiCaprio (Romeo) and Claire Danes (Juliet) and the 1968 verison (which I love!)(Again, I only saw parts of both movies!).
Bella would run away with Edward anyday, just like how Romeo and Juliet attempt too. Another reason is, just like in New Moon, when Edward found out that Bella “died”, he almost killed himself, which would result in Bella killing herself. Sadly, Romeo and Juliet died, but thankfully, Edward and Bella did not.
I know my answer might sound confuzling, but hey, Romeo+Juliet=Edward+Bella, it’s that simple!
I think it is funny how similar Rosalie and Rosaline’s names are- although their stories are much different. Rosaline is the former lover (of like a day) for Romeo or in this case would be our Edward. But, in our Twilight story- Rosaline is rejetected by her Romeo. There is another similarity; Romeo is a player- and so is Edward, he has ladies in the palms of his hands. Like Bella, Tanya, Jessica, the waitress, and many more. The difference, however is how he reacts to these ladies who has found favor in him- for the majority of the part, he politely rejects their suggestions- even Bella in the beginning for her own well being. I do not think that Romeo would be so thoughtful.
I think Alice and Jasper are like Romeo and Juliet. They have that love at first sight thing. Even though Alice saw Jasper first, I didn’t think she knew exactly what she would feel when she saw him. Jasper’s hardship with their way of life is close to the Montagues and Capulets between R and J. Though like Romeo and Juliet it doesn’t keep them apart, it makes their love stronger. It keeps them defiant, that they are stronger than the unseen force that keeps trying to pull them apart. All though, Romeo is a little more selfish than Jasper, and Alice isn’t as helpless as Juliet, the similarities still stand.
Hey I love you guys. I just finished listening to all the episodes you have up on iTunes and you guys are fantastic. Anyway on to the question.
I actually think Jacob and Bella are the most like Romeo and Juliet now. Sure Edward and Bella were originially Romeo and Juliet, but now her “family” is against Jacob. For good reason of course, they want her to be with Edward. Even though Charlie and Renee are her biological parents the Cullens have become a stronger connection for her, and will continue to be for the rest of eternity hopefully.
Of course Edward and Bella are very Romeo and Juliet, but I wanted to mix it up a bit so I say Jacob and Bella.
I think that James and Victoria are most like Romeo and Juliet…maybe thats just because they both die
Ok so I do not want to go with the obvious answer but I think that Bella and Edward are the spitting image of Romeo and Juliet. We all know that they would both die for eachother. They also go against their family’s wishes just to be together. I think that Jacob is kinda like Paris because he is the ideal guy for bella in Charlie’s eyes. Romeo also has lots of friends in the book which kind of resembles Edwards large family. I also think that Carlilse is like friar laurwrence because he is willing to help edward no matter what the circumstances. Juliet is also like Bella because in the end she wants to change herself to be in the same situation as romeo which she does by killing herself (In Bella’s situation she wants to change into a vampire to be with Edward). Yeeek! There are just too many similarities to list!!!
DDDDUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH
edward and bella are sooooooo the most like romeo and juliette. i mean come on. SM makes so many R&J similarities through out the books especially new moon. she is modeling them after romeo and juliette although it is a very very very loose interpreattion but Jacob and Billy are like her family and Juliette’s fam don’t want her to marry romeo. They would die for each other, Bella loves another guy (paris aka jacob) Bella herself has compared her relationship with edward to R&J
Ok, the obvious response is Bella and Edward. But that is because the whole book (New Moon) is Bella comparing what happened to her to what happened in Romeo and Juliet.
First, I totally agree with the dad thing. There is obviously a correlation between Capulet and Charlie. I might even go so far as to tie Charlie to the Prince as well. He is the ruling body of Verona, he lays down the laws and see that they are followed. He also supports Paris.
Then there are the two warring families. Mortal enemies for a very long time. Both sides would love to kill eachother.
The story of Romeo and Juliet really begins when the Montague “gang” is about to crash the party. Romeo has a premonition that something big is about to happen. Kind of like Alice sees Bella coming.
Then of course Paul is as hot blooded as Tybalt, ultimately fighting over Bella (with Jacob, but fighting all the same)
Then, when Bella jumps off the cliff, Edward gets a false message that Bella is dead. She isn’t at all, but he thinks she is. Just like Romeo missing the message from the Friar but hearing from a friend (Rosalie) that she is dead.
Then, he just misses her on the phone, just like Romeo just misses Juliet waking up in the tomb. He then goes to kill himself in the only way possible.
The families finally reconsile (Somewhat) over the impending doom of Bella. They come together to fight Victoria’s army, and then, they trust Carlisle enough to let him treat Jacob.
Then there are the actual Characters themselves.
jacob is most obviously a plumped up Paris. SM is right, Paris is just a prop Shakespeare uses to force Juliet’s hand. But what would it have been like if they had been best friends?
Alice most definitely the friar. The character that knows the whole story. She watches what is going on and helps the two fulfill their love for eachother in ways the others never will.
Now, on the Bella. She is a bit of an idiot like Juliet. Very emotional, and prone to mood swings herself. She is older physically than Juliet, but if you take into account Edwards age, then there isn’t much difference.
She is doing all these things after Ed leaves that will result in her death. She can’t bear the thought of betraying her heart and going for Jake. She crys for days and days, not over Tybalt’s death, but after Edward “Kills” the life she chose. She even says it was like someone had died.
She trusts and confides in Alice just as Juliet does the Friar.
She would rather die than be with anyone else. Juliet pretends to die rather than be with Paris. (Of course that is R&J, not Twilight. But in the end, Bella chooses Romeo’s family over Jacob!)
She is Juliet… no questions asked.
And last, but not least. Edward.
He is older and more experienced that Bella. Not necessarily in love, but in life. He is firstly attracted to her physically, just like Romeo. He does not look to love at first. But he finds that immidiately he wants to protect her, before he smells her that is.
They can’t kiss, but they do touch eachother. “Holy palmer’s Kiss” they spend their first alone time confessing that they are madly in love with eachother. Before they even kiss.
Then he comes to her window, alright, he comes through her window. But then she leaves to come right back so no one will catch him there!
Then, after a fight with family, he leaves her. She is heartbroken and they have no way to communicate.
Then, after he hears that she has died, he misses the real message from Alice (the Friar) and goes rashly to kill himself.
that is where the similarities stop however. Because they don’t die.
Ok, enough gushing for one night. I am just a HUGE Shakespeare fan, and I am obsessed with Twilight so this was too irresistable!
I think Bella and Jacob are most like Romeo&Juliet. Jacob is immature, loving, fierce and impulsive, just like Romeo is because Romeo also doesn’t know what real love is yet, and he is fierce/impulsive when he kills himself/kills Juliet’s cousin. Bella is so much like Juliet it’s not even funny. sike. it’s still funny. : )
Bella always stands up for those she loves, and doesn’t want to see them get hurt. Juliet embodies this when she kills herself after she sees dead Romeo, and when she says she’d rather deny her own family than not be with him. Also, Juliet is torn between her family/friends and Romeo, and Bella is torn between her “family” (the cullens) and Jacob, though maybe not in the same way.
Also, their relationships are SOOOO Friggin’ similar! Jacob&Bella love each other deeply, we can all agree to that. So much so that Jacob gets around the pack-command thingy to keep Bella w/him. also, the two “families” (pack v. cullens) are enemies, just like the Capulets and the Montagues.
UGH!!! i had more similarities, but my brain just wiped out like a virus wipes a hard drive! oh well, <3 ur podcast!
Now, my favorite character has always been James. However, HE did not die for Victoria’s sake. Victoria was but a tool in his games. If she had gotten in the way, he would have easily discarded her. However, VICTORIA, cannot even be classified as a Juliet because she did not immediatly fall to the ground and selfishly kill herself…no, instead she set out to avenge James’ death, which in many ways is a much more noble thing to do.
A couple that deserves the Romeo and Juliet title would be Edward and Bella because each would stupidly die if the other one did.
Well why would it be edward and bella since HELLO neither of them die at the end of breaking dawn.
wait scratch that: it actually might be edward and bell because edward was acctually planning on commiting suicide when he herd that bella was dead so like yeh
Im going to make the long story short. And plus, aren’t you all forgetting about Sam and Emily?
I believe that Sam+Emily, or Edward+Bella are the most believable “Romeo&Juliet” couple.
It’s sort of complicated to explain in my point of view, but you know what I mean.
It’s good to think different HAHAHA 🙂
