I think if anyone is going to die it will be Rosalie trying to save Bella and then she’ll get hurt.I believe this will happen because I think in Breaking Dawn Stephanie will build up the relationship between Bella and Rosalie. Rosalie is the character that you think you would hate for being so egotistical, but in actuality you can’t help but love and respect her.
Emmett will be hurt and he’ll be angry with Bella and Bella will feel horrible. She’ll seriously consider listening to Rosalie and staying human, but in the end who really knows what is going to happen. Well, except for Stephanie and her mom of course.
I think someone in the wolf pack will die. I am not sure which one. Maybe it will be Sam and then Jacob will have to take his place as the leader. I don’t really know it is just a guess. By the way I love the show and I agree with Cassie on most things like not really caring for Jacob.
I would say the Alice will die. She and Bella have such a strong relationship, and she will die by saving Bella, or she has a vision and she cannot get to anyone else fast enough to have anyone to help her, so she goes and takes care of it, but dies in the process.
Then, I think that Jacob will die while saving Edward, kind of like the dobby effect. Jacob will finally realize that Edward is the right guy for Bella and that instead of letting Edward die so that he can get Bella, he goes and saves him so that Bella can have a truly wonderful life.
But that’s my opinion.
well, if i got my way, no one would die in breaking dawn! =) ….but i doubt that is going to happen so i guess i should be a bit realistic haha…
okay so i think that a couple of characters might die actually, and those characters would be from either bella or edwards family, but not edward or bella themselves..this means that the characters could possibly be, dun dun dun : charlie, billy, jacob, or anyone in Edwards family…. i know , =[ , i dont like this idea either ..sorry im not very specific! haha
( the reason why i dont think it would be renee is because she “almost died” in twilight..even though that was just a trick )
i think that one of these characters will die and then their death will trigger bella to either become a vampire right away, or it will have the opposite effect and then she will not become one at all! ( which does not make me happy because ultimatly i would like her and edward to be together).. i think that this would need to occur because for some reason i dont think that edward will (even though he promised ) just turn her, unless it is absolutely necessary…and i feel the same way about bella. i think that even though she is in love with edward and she wants to be with him forever (and they will be together forever one way or another!!! hahah ), i think it will take just a little bit more than that very powerful love to trigger her to alter her life completely

Hi guys, to start I just want to say that I love the podcast! Keep up the good work!
I think that someone from the wolf pack will die in Breaking Dawn. This would force Jacob to return, possibly even to take over as Pack Alpha if it is Sam that is killed. I’m not 100% on who exactly which wolf it will be (though I’m thinking Sam), but I think that he/she would die trying to save Bella, possibly from the Volturi.
My reasoning for this, is the Breaking Dawn cover. The red pawn, I think, represents a living person, but a pawn in Bella’s life, compared to the Cullens and her parents.
I’m not sure whether the wolf’s sacrifice will harm or hurt the treaty between the vampires and werewolves. The wolves could blame the vampires (and of course, Bella) for the death of one of their own OR the wolves could accept that it was that individual’s decision, and the vampires would be grateful.
I think the cullens will fight along side the wolves against the denali clan and/or the volturi. In the battle, I think Sam will die, leaving jacob head of the pack. I also think Seth might die too just because he’s so young and these vamps might be way out of his league. As far as main characters, i can’t see any of them without their romantic counterpart. Arg….NEXT QUESTION!!!
I think it might be Sam, I have a couple reasons why this might be:
-He knows that Jacob will not come back unless something bad happens so he kills him self then jake comes back.
-He dies fighting the Voulturi, then Jake comes back or they fight together and Sam falls trying to save Jacob.
( I think the second one is much more likely!)
Also I dont think Jacob will die because SM has said she wants to explain his side but also you really never know what will happen in the books, I am a Edward fan but I want Jacob to end happily too, thats why I love Kallie’s Leah and Jacob theory! I think that would fit perfectly into the story!

Whilst I was thinking about my answer to this, I wondered if anyone else had noticed that S.M used the name Jared twice? In Twilight, Jared is part of the La Push werewolf gang & in The Host where Jared is part of the love triangle.
I’m thinking, maybe that wasn’t a coincidence? Perhaps it actually means something? Now, I know that in The Host Jared doesn’t ACTUALLY die but he does have a couple of near death experiences. What if, Jared becomes a major character (like Jacob did in New Moon) but dies because of that? This could play out in the story, if say; Edward bites Bella & SOME of the wolfs get angry. Now, in The Host, Jared at first, is angry at Melanie and even hit’s her & asks Jeb for the gun. Maybe, Jared starts of on the side of the Quilette’s but see’s the light and realises that the treaty is mush? (Like Jared did when he started getting along with Wanderer and realised he loved her too!) This could cause him to get killed from either another wolf or the Volturi (because they would be helping the Cullen’s & think Jared was the enemy). See? There could actually be meaning in the double use of name……

I think that jacob still being in love with bella will save her life.But,be so hurt from doing this he will die from the injuries because it hurt the side of his body that was hurt in ecilpse. Altough i hope this doesn’t happen because i love both edward and jake

If I think a character is going to die, then its going to be Carlisle

I think that he is a important character and the leader of the coven. He also cares SO much for his family that he would do anything for them. INCLUDING risking his life for them. So I am guessing that if the Volturi’s attack, Carlisle will be right there in the front lines trying to protect his family.
(oh please, i pray to god that he doesn’t die.. he is my fav. character…)
But i don’t think that Stephenie Meyer is REALLY going to kill a character off, I think she cherishes each character as if they are her children.
I’m thinking a minor character will die. Probably someone from the wolf pack. I’m thinking maybe Sam, Embry, or Quil. My thoughts on this are that I believe Jacob is going to come back, and Bella will have already changed. I have this hunch that Jacob will then throw a hissy fit, and want to destroy which ever vampire did this to her, even though he already knew this was eventually going to happen. I think that there will be another vamp/wolf clash, and whil Jacob tries to attack, one of his brothers — Sam, Embry, or Quil — will try to step in front of him to protect him. However, this could also be Seth. Seth could die trying to protect both sides because he has developed a good relationship with the vampires, however, he would also do anything in his power to keep his brothers safe. thats my ideas, i have more, but i lost my train of thought… Dx i love the podcast! keep it up!!
I think that either Esme or Carlisle will be the one to die for Bella. If Bella has to be changed because she is in danger, then I believe that one of them will die protecting her while Edward bites her. As much as I would hate for one of them to die, I just believe that Esme and Carlisle would to anything for their kids. If I had to choose a definite death, it would have to be Carlisle’s. I believe that Esme would be able to survive losing him if she had her children. If this does happen, Edward would take Carlisle’s place as provider and “Man of the House” since he was the second vampire born into the Cullen Family.
I also think that the already theorized possibility of Sam dying and Jacob becoming the Alpha Wolf is very likely. In any case I totally believe that the Volturi will discover the wolf pack. In Eclipse on page 564, Edward tells Bella that the pack had to go back home after the battle because the Volturi do not honor truces with werewolves. He goes on to tell her that they will be fine because the Votluri is at this point unaware that the wolf pack is in existence. I believe that once the Volturi discover the pack there will be big trouble! They will probably try to kill the Alpha wolf. I am hoping that once Jacob becomes the Alpha, a love connection will occur between Jacob and Leah. I think that they might end up bonding over the fact that they were both rejected by their first love.
OOH!! I’m all about the theories. Which is why…I…love…twilightseriestheories…moving on from that…
I am endeared to Jacob. Kassie, it’s cool that you’re not, so I’ll let it slide. 😉 I have my own theories about how Jacob and Edward define the guys that girls choose from…but that’s another post for another day.
Deaths. This is what I see coming: I think Sam will die, forcing Jacob to take his place as the head honcho of the wolves. If Alice dies, I’m going to stop reading. If Carlise dies, the whole world will come off it’s axis, but I see it as a dramatic possiblility, just to mess us readers up more than we already are. Now, maybe…just maybe…Bella will be mortally wounded, making Edward change her because if he didn’t, he’d lose her forever. If he changed her to save her, then Jacob couldn’t call it breaking the treaty because she’d be gone no matter what. I know he’d rather her be dead than be a vampire, but seriously, Jacob, don’t be so dramatic.
NOW…I have Volturi issues. I think that plot line is a pain in the you-know-what. They get on my nerves, because let’s say that Bella is changed, do they still want Edward and Alice? I’m re-reading “New Moon” so maybe I missed part of that. I hope Alice doesn’t offer herself up as some kind of sacrificial lamb to the Volturi, because that would suck for Jasper.
I’m trying to figure out who would be the red pawn from the cover too. Talking from a chess perspective, there’s no way that pawn can do anything, but it’s kinda ominious all the same.
Okay, I’m done. Sorry.
I think Jasper will die. He will losing control because Bella is bleeding and will try to attack. As a result Edward will have to kill him to save Bella =(
It would be awful for Edward having to kill his brother, and can you imagine how Alice would feel??? It would also give Rosalie more reason to hate Bella’s guts.

i HOPE no one from the cullen family dies, it will too debastating i hope all the Vulturi die in a battle with the cullens (that’d be cool) and then the Cullens can be the ( this sound cheesy) the royalty of the Vampire world wouldnt that be awesome + the volturi have been around too long.
Having Jacob’s Father die would make a lot of sense. After the wedding but before Bella is changed.One It would force Jacob to return to LaPush. I may make him be more likely to take his place a pack leader, and by so doing he would have greater influence over the tribe in changing the terms of the treaty in Bella’s favor. It would also force jacob to grow up and think about more than just himself. When the Volturi return it would be to the cullen’s advantage to have a secret alliance with werewolves. Also it would be a good way to lead into more books about forks from the werewolf perspective.

I think Sam will end up dead , either fighting with the Voltuti, the Denali clan or maybe the Cullens ( it could happen they are bff’s or anything , one thing could set both parties in some huge battle). I think this will lead to Jacob being the head of the pack ( or the alpha dog 🙂 ). This might also how Jacob gets his ” happily ever after “, he imprints and becomes the leader if the pack. Someone will end up dying. i personally think that it will be Sam, Leah, or Seth… i really don’t think that a vampire will die… and for jacob to die… no… stephenie meyer loves jacob too much to kill him or even leave him with no imprint,,,
I think that at the wedding in the middle of the ceremony some homicidal vampire that alice somehow could not see, attacks and goes for Charlie. Edward is going to fight with the vampire and Charlie is going to be told by Alice what’s going on in all the mayhem and Charlie is going to pass out. Then the werewolves will show up and try to help because the vampire is more skilled than they thought and it’s hard to kill him. Jasper comes in and sees that it’s someone he knew from the south, who was a worst enemy and wanted revenge. The vampire goes for bella, but Sam gets in the way and dies protecting her. When Charlie wakes up he is extremley confused and the cullens flee for fear of discovery. Leaving the pack to mourn for Sam, making Jacob come back home.

Breaking Dawn seems to be the climax in the series. If this is the case, then several characters will probably die. A few Volturi might die if there is an epic battle in Forks or Italy. In addition, a few werewolves might be goners as well. My feeling is that Jacob might have to die for Bella. I think he wouldn’t mind sacrificing himself for her, since he still loves her in some way.
I have one other theory that is a bit morbid, and maybe even fan-fic-ish, but it’s a theory nonetheless. I think that when Bella is turned she will be a fledgling just like any other vampire fledgling: extremely bloodthirsty. If she is still in Forks for her transformation, or just soon after, she might end up killing Charlie. I know, that sounds horrible. But I don’t think (like a lot of people) that Bella will have less of a craving for blood. Perhaps Charlie will try and check up on Bella as a wife at the Cullen’s residence. Once there, he finds Bella alone, and hungry. It’s far-fetched, but it would allow Bella to grow as a character in the end.

I have a theory that if someone dies in Breaking Dawn, it will be Billy Black.
This is how I think it may happen:
Billy will start dropping hints to Charlie that Edward is a vampire and urge him to talk Bella out of marrying him. Charile, who is not on the best terms with Billy due to his lack of concern for Jacob’s disappearance, will not believe Billy at first, thinking he is truly a crazy old man. As it gets closer to the wedding, Billy will grow desperate for Charlie to believe him, so he reveals that La Push is full of werewolves has one of the werewolves transform in front of Charlie as proof. By this time though, it is too late and the wedding is literally right around the corner. Charlie sees how much in love Bella and Edward are, and cannot deny his like for the Cullens, so he holds his tongue. The wedding occurs smoothly. Charlie returns to Forks while Bella and Edward are away on their honeymoon. Edward turns Bella into a vampire, as planned. And then, the Volturi show up in Forks, looking for Bella to see if she has been transformed yet. They lurk around the area, and somehow find out about Billy spreading the word of the Cullens being vampires. So they manage to kill Billy for spreading the secret. When Bella and Edward return from their honeymoon, Charlie calls Bella and tells her that Billy is dead and that Jacob is back in La Push for the funeral. Bella, of course, will be worried about Jacob, and wants to go to the funeral to pay her respects. So she goes, with Edward, of course, to Billy’s funeral. This is when the werewolves see that Bella has indeed been turned into a vampire and they’ll know that Edward broke the treaty by biting her. They decide they have no choice but to kill the Cullens now, especially since they are in their territory. Jacob, who is heartbroken that Bella actually went through with turning into a vampire, will ultimately decide that he still loves her and is willing to accept that she is happy with Edward. So he tells the werewolves to forget the treaty and leave the Cullens alone. The werewolves aren’t that willing to let it slide though. So they make a deal with Edward that they will overlook things just this one time if he and Bella promise to never come back ever again. He and Bella agree. Edward and Bella set off to leave forever and Bella has one tearful, final good-bye to Charlie, and Charlie reveals that he understands and knows that she is a vampire now. Once Edward and Bella are gone, the Denali clan show up in La Push, wanting revenge on the werewolves for killing Laurent (since one of them had taken a liking for him when he stayed with them during James’ hunt of Bella in Twilight). Additionally, the Volturi show up once more, somehow finding out that Charlie knows about vampires. Alice has visions of the Denali clan causing trouble in Forks, and the Volturi showing up to kill Charile. Bella, Edward, and the rest of the Cullens are faced with the dilemma of going back to Forks to save Charlie (either having to turn him into a vamp, or fight the Volturi) and risk breaking the deal with the werewolves, or stay away, leaving the werewolves to defend themselves and their area from both the Volturi and the Denali clan.
I have multiple theories. Deep breath, and, here we go.
I think that either Sam will die, forcing Jacob to step up to head of the pack, or Emily will die, and Sam will step down and force Jacob to be head of the pack. This way there is something besides Bella for Jacob to think about.
I am almost 100% sure that neither Jacob, Edward, or Bella will die. Stephenie Meyer loves these characters especially too much to kill them, and it would ruin the whole series.
As for the preface, I think she is talking about Jacob. If Bella and the Cullens’ come back after Bella becomes a vampire (if she even does) and the Wolves find out, they would go try to find them, because the treaty would be broken.
In Eclipse Jacob said that Bella wouldn’t be the same, wouldn’t be the same person. I think he’ll try to attack whoever changed her, and someone, either vampire or werewolf, will try to hold him back, or get in the middle.
I think it is likely to be Seth, because in the first chapter Seth and Edward have developed a good relationship, so Seth would be trying to save both the vampires and the werewolves. Leading to Seth possibly dying. Which would also lead to either Leah and Bella becoming close, or Leah resenting Bella even more. Somehow I think the second option is more likely.

I don’t think anybody in the series will die in breaking dawn. not only do i really not want this to happen, it doesn’t seem like it would make sense.
if a character died, i don’t see how it could advance the plot. i think lots of characters could potentially die but they would be useless deaths.
if any of the cullens would die, the others would be left heartbroken. people have discussed either jasper or esme dying because they are more minor characters, but to their spouses, bella, and the other cullens, they are very important. if, for example, emmett died, rosalie would be heartbroken, edward and bella would be upset, and the rest of the cullens would be very sad. death is such an intense emotional event, i really don’t want it to occur.
death has also not been a theme in the books, apart from henry clearwater no “good” people have died. i don’t see it becoming a theme in breaking dawn.
in the harry potter books, for example, deaths occurred at the beginning of the series with harry’s parents. the sadness that follows a death was deeply explore throughout the series, and in the seventh book, J.K. Rowling “filled her death quota”-many people ended up dying.
stephenie hasn’t made death or loss a theme in the past and i think it would be very complicated for a main character to die in breaking dawn, because those emotions would have to be explored.
No one who isn’t a bad guy. 🙂 I honestly don’t think Stephenie is going to kill a beloved character. When Stephenie was touring with The Host she was asked if there would be sequels. She replied that she wasn’t sure because if she did sequels then there would be character deaths and she wasn’t sure if she could do that. If she was unsure of killing someone from The Host imagine how it would be killing a character from Twilight! I think she likes happy endings and considering Twilight is still young adult I don’t think she going to do anything traumatic to us. Just my opinion.
to add on, stephenie has said many times how much she loves and cares about these characters, i don’t think she will readily use them as pawns to advance the plot-and kill them off.
C. Cullen, your comment about the pawn just gave me a very different theory on the cover. What if Bella is the pawn and Rosalie is the queen and Rosalie kills Bella to prevent her from becoming a vampire. Now that would be traumatizing. I don’t think this will happen but just the way you worded your comment made me re-evaluate the cover. haha

I totaly agree with teri and the hole billy black dying. If he didnt then all the rest of the events wouldnt happen. I don’t, however, like the idea that the werewolfs find out that bella is a vampire at the funeral. i think they had to rush over there (from her honeymoon) to get to the funeral that they didnt have time to change her, and jacob would try agian to convince not to go through with it. And a fight breaks out and the volturi come back and see that bella isnt changed and try to fix that. But before they get to her she is hurt and edward has to change her to save her life! I hope i make seens and i hope i helped! thanks!

Esme, because she never really played much of a part in the books. Sure, she was there, but never did anything really pivotal.
Carlisle, because I just get this feeling….I mean, if there is a war, he’s the leader right? So people on the opposite side would go for him.
Rosalie, because she would feel bad for treating Bella the way she did.
Of the Quiletes, I think Billy Black or Sam will die. If Sam dies it would make Jake alpha, and thus solve all the problems of wars. I think Billy could die because he is one of the 3, now two, tribal leaders. (Old Quil is the other one)

I think Mike Newton! I mean he has such a big impact on the story! Hahahaha! Actually it would make alot of sense if Emmett died because he is the Protector. But if Emmett dies that might lead Rosalie to die sinse she would die for him. Or he might die saving her. It is like a chain reaction, Alice dies and so Jasper would follow. Bella dies, and so Edward would die. Now, if the Volturi wanted to wipe out the Cullens, I think they would target Carlisle. Think about it, he is the core of the family. In the begining of Twilight, Edward mentions how one of the reasons he did not kill Bella was because he did not want to dissapoint Carlisle. So if Carlisle died then I beleive that everyone would want to get revenge on whoever killed Carlisle. If you are confused right now, you are not the only one. My thoughts go all over the place. But I highely doubt Steph would make Carlisle die. Anyways, I really do think that if one Cullen dies, then the Cullen that did die, their mate would soon follow. Its a sticky situation, but makes complete sense! Hope you guys agree too!

And Jacob follows his promis to try to kill Edward and Bella. Etheir Edward of ella or another cullen Kills Jacob. It all makes sence.

Well, I think Jacob could die, I wouldn’t like, I’m totally Edward team, but I’d like to see Jacob happy with someone who loves him, but Jacob loves so much Bella, and if she was in danger he could give his life so save her. Sadly, but he could die for love.
There’s another name in my mind: Rosalie.
I’ve been thinking in Rosalie’s story, and I think that, perhaps Rosalie can sees herself in Bella, because Bella will have something she never had: a wedding as a human… Rosalie has a kind of “trauma” about it, that’s why she has married a lot of times with Emmett and I don’t think she let someone interrupt the Bella’s wedding or kills Bella as Royce did with her.. So she could sacrifice herself…. I wouldn’t like either because I don’t want to see anyone of the Cullens died…
If Rosalie dies would be something terrible for the Cullens, specially for Emmett (and I don’t know what Emmetts could do or act if she dies…) but she said something like “life would be fair if we (the Cullens) were died” (sorry, I can’t remember the phrase exactly, I didn’t read the book in english).
If Jacob dies.. well I think one part of Bella’s world could fall down, Bella loves Jacob too (not as much as Edward) but he’s important in her life and she must “live” with it for the rest of her existance if she is turned into a vampire…
I would like 2 think that but it would stasrt a chain reaction and n ot work out, Emmet <Crslile, esme and so on ………………….see if Rosalin dies emmet will kill himsellf so it cant work

I’m so sorry to say this, but Jacob is the only character in the series (at least in my opinion) that has real reason to die. Of course Bella will be devastated, but if he actually imprints, won’t that spoil the whole triangle? Think about it. He may not die, but I don’t think he’ll actually find somebody. Instead, he will probably sacrifice himself for Bella (in whatever way or circumstance there will be in “Breaking Dawn”)…The ultimate way he can portray his love for Bella.

I think in Breaking Dawn that Sam Uley will die. I think that after Jacob has run away the Volturi will come to check on Bella and there will be a battle between the Vampires and Werewolves. I think Sam will die and this will be the catalyst that forces Jacob to come back to La Push and be the Alpha wolf. I think maybe after he’s been away, he might imprint on Leah. Also, I think Charlie will be killed by the Volturi,once they realise that he is Bella’s last real reason for remaining human. She will able to change without so much regret and theVolturi will get what they want faster.
I thinK that Sam Uley will die. I think that the Volturi will come to check on Bella and Marcus, who sees relationships, will see that her relationships with the Werewolves and Charlie are what’s stopping her from changing into a vampire. So the Volturi will do two things, they will start a war with the Wolves, in which Sam will die trying to protect Emily, and this will be the catalyst that forces Jacob to come home to be the Alpha Wolf. After his long absence he will imprint on Leah. Also, the Volturi will kill Charlie, cutting off all Bella’s human ties. Charlie was Bella’s last real reason for staying human, apart from Jacob, who has now imprinted. Bella can become a Vampire without regret.

As much as i wish for jacob to die i really don’t think he’s going to be the victim.
I’m going for some one unexpected like carlisle-I bet if he dies it’s going to be WAY dramatic!

OH! how about my beloved Mike Newton yeah maybe he finds Bella and the cullens and the voultri together and Jane or someone kills him cause you know humans can’t know about Vampires. that would be unexpected.

ok back to my story , if any of those die cause one of the wolves (especialy Esme) Edward is going to get some sweet revenge and kills the killer. or Bella yells and attacks Jacob and accuses him for killing someone form her “family” and jacob goes suicide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I am the second person to say I think Alice is going to die.
I think that if someone has to die, it should be one of Bella’s parents. Because if she becomes a vampire, she has to leave them behind anyway, and it would be much easier for her to leave humanity if she didn’t have strong attachments to humanity still. And it would be so cool for one of her parents to do something that special for her and then she wouldn’t have to live her life knowing that she wouldn’t be able to see them.
However, I still think that the cover isn’t about sacraficing someone, but sacraficing humanity.
