Okay, I have to say.Sasha….theres one tiny problem with your theory. Alice will not see. Alice can not see werewolves. Therefore, she won’t see bella and jacob running away. and i dont like jacob. Hes a lady stealer. lol. I think bella should stay with edward. Who i think will die….hmmmmm…….JACOB.
I think he will try to follow edward and bella on their honeymoon. He will try to stop edward from biting bella and he will be killed by edward. At least, thats my opinion of what will happen.
Oh, and I have one more thing to say…..I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope Stephenie Meyer does not allow Bella to run off with Jacob and leave Edward…if she does…I will probably start throwing things in anger. lol.

Well I kind of agree with April’s opinion.
I think that it will be Sam or Seth or both to die, in order to protect (still human) Bella. If she were alone or temp. away from the Cullens, or with her Dad saying a final goodbye. Protecting her from either Tanya, Volturi, or something else all together. Forcing Jacob to come back and imprinting on Leah, seeing her a new light so to speak from being away for so long. I also think maybe Charlie will die for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time or falling into a trap and having someone waiting for him when he’s either at home or with the wolves, meaning Alice wouldn’t be able to see it until it was to late.
Also the reason for Charlie dieing would because he either one would find out about the wolves and vampires or optinion two would be killed by someone like the volturi or tanya to get a fight started.
im thinking it will have to be someone we all love and hope nothing happens to….. i think it will be alice. shes a sister to everybody. plus this would give meyer to put huge twist on things, such as, revenge, war, and possibly leading to bella becoming a vampire.
I really sincerely believe that Sam is going to die. I’m not so sure about a Cullen dying because of how hard it would be for them to kill a vampire in the book because they’d have to burn the remains to really kill it.
I don’t know who this “they” will be but I imagine them being the Volturi because they will come to find out about the wolves and the Cullens and wolves will fight side by side and tragically someone has to fall. This isn’t a bunch of newborns they are fighting after all… And the wolves are more vulnerable anyhow.
That way if Sam falls, Jacob will become the leader of the pack and that will play into my Jacob and Leah fantasy 😉

ok… so here is who I think will die in Breaking Dawn.
So I looked at the cover and tried to break down the many different meanings behind why this particular cover was chosen and how it might play a part with the “who will die” question. First off, the white queen. Like most I will say that this is Bella after she has been changed. Which I have to say “Yea! It’s about time”.
Ok, so looking at the red pawn in the background. The pawn is behind the queen in the cover, so I will say it has to be someone from her past, or shall we say past life. Since it is red, let’s assume this means that this person is living, so someone mortal. No I do not believe this person to be Jacob, because Jacob is a major character for the “Living persons” and Stephenie loves Jacob and wouldn’t kill him, and besides a pawn usually represents someone who’s part is considered relatively small in comparison to the others.
Looking at symbolism of the color red, it tends to represent passion and/or love. So putting the pieces together. Someone from Bella’s past life, who plays a small part and has passion for her… I think it will be Mike Newton.
Now I know some of you are rolling your eyes and are saying yeah right, but think of the dream Bella had after Jacob first told her about the legends in Twilight. Mike was in her dream…Stephenie might try to tie all the pieces of that dream by snuffing out Mike.
I think that Mike’s death may occur after the Wedding is “delayed” thinking he may get a final chance at winning Bella’s affection (yeah right… a mortal instead of a vamp…in your dreams Mike).
I think that there could be some confrontation with the Volturi and Mike, unaware of the situation, will be caught up in it by accidentally stumbling upon the battle. Mike’s death may play out as a way for Bella to escape the Volturi and as a way for Edward to realize that Bella needs to be changed and done so quickly. Bella becoming a vampire will be priority #1… To put her existence before of any other.
It may sound a bit far fetched, but again, it is just my opinion.

personally i think that jacob will die (team edward). I can imagine bella being already turned into a vampire and jacob comes back because sam or billy dies (reasons still unknown). then he sees bella as a vampire with edward and he just cant control himself so he just starts attacking edward. bella can see that hes not going to stop and that if he keeps attacking, that edward will DIE (NOOOO) so the only thing bella can do (as a vampire) is to kill jacob in order to save edward.
as for other characters dying i hope and believe that none of the cullens will die because if one is gone then
1. it will never be a complete cullen family which ruins the magic of the story
and
2. if one dies i believe thta their mate will try to die too which re-enstates my first theory.
as for the werewolves (beside jacob) i believe the prime candidates are sam, billy and seth
if billy and/or sam dies then jacob will come back either to mourn his father or to be head of the wolf pack.
if seth dies it will be because he has started to get very close to bella AND edward.
I think Rosalie will die saving Bella. It would show how much she actually cares for Bells and how much she loves Edward. Jane might kill her idk.
Oh..mah..gawd.
I forgot what Sam dying would do to Emily…I don’t know if she’d go on without him. AND..Hannah Leigh…great point about Seth. But I love Seth! I think his relationship with Edward could be a great plot to read.
Maybe we’ll come out of this with everyone okay! In a huge war, with vampires, and…werewolves…surrounded by innocent…humans…crap. Probably not.
I think it would be cool if Jacob died for Edward- this would prove how much he loved Bella, and I think Bella would be okay with him dying if it was to save Edward. I think this would maybe be the only way Bella could cope with anyone dying. I hope Jacob finds a sweet little imprint, but if someone has to die, I think Jacob is one of the more probable possibilities.

While I don’t think Stephenie will go all J.K. Rowling and basically massacre half of the characters, I do think there will be at least one death in B.D. I have a few ideas on who it might be and I think it might be someone from the wolf-pack…
1) I have strong a feeling it might be Sam (though I really like his character!) because of the things his death might set in motion. If he were to die that would force Jacob to step up as the alpha, which could potentially be interesting in terms of the werewolves and the Cullens teaming up to fight the Volturi, the Denali clan, etc. Especially if he were to take over as alpha after Bella was transformed (if it happens *fingers crossed*) because I think he would feel quite torn about the situation- i.e. he still may love Bella but he may also resent her and the Cullens so he might be unsure whether to get the pack involved.
2) It could also be Leah since she clearly has a reckless side and feels the need to prove herself to the rest of the pack. She could also be the cause of the death of Sam if she were to endanger herself because he might feel obligated to sacrifice himself to save her in an attempt to make right the hurt he caused her and the promises he broke. Oh and even though I don’t really think that she has imprinted on Jacob, if for some reason she has she might endanger herself in a fight because her love is unrequited. Then if Sam died trying to save her because she was in love with Jacob it would just be very twisty and dramatic. Just a thought.
3) OR maybe Seth (though I’d be fairly upset if this happened) since the first chapter of BD seems to set him up to play more of a role in the book. I think he could possibly die since he is on good terms with both the Cullens and the pack which would put him in the middle of any potential conflicts between them. I think if Seth were to die it might be an accident, so him being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but the pack might see it differently and try to place blame on the Cullens, possibly leading to a fight.
I feel like Jacob will sacrifice his life for Bella… He will always love her to the point where he would do anything for her. I believe there will be an instance where Edward will not be able to protect Bella, and Jacob will be there, but to save her with his life. SM likes to write romance “tragedies” in a way… and this would be the perfect ending… even the people who don’t like Jacob would love & respect him for what he did for Bella… so instead of ending the book with a death, you end with a memorial in a way.

i think that all will go fine up to bellas wedding day when she overhears her dad talking about how jacob is missing and that she’ll hear this right before shes supposed to walk down the isle and she’ll freak out and leave to go find jacob, meanwhile the volturi are on their way to check if bella has been turned yet…..so bella leaves to find jake and soon enough alice realizes that bella left so she tells edward to go find her. Eventually the volutri arrive and alice doesnt see it because shes too worried about bella..and the volturi overhear billy black talking to sam that he should tell charlie what the cullens really are and then later on the volturi ambush him before he has the chance to let out the secret…jacob finds out and gets angry and blames it all on bella..the volturi kidnap bella and take her to italy to change her and the cullens follow and then theres a huge fight between the volturi and cullens to get to bella so they dont change her and edward finds his way to her right before they bite her and some how gets her back and right at the end of the book he bites her and in the previous book carlisle mentions that maybe it wouldnt be so painful if he gave her morphine…well he gives her too much after endward bites her and she doest wake up…..the book ends, and hopefully she writes a fifth about bella as a vampire!!!….
i hope its true she already has an outline for the fifth and ending for 6th!!!!

oh and i forgot i think…idk who but a warewolf WILL be bitten by a vampire…and who knows what will happen then!…maybe sam when hes with billy?!
I think that it will be Charlie who dies.
I think that the Volturi will kidnap him (therefore, he finds about the vampires) and tell Bella, as a trap to lure her. she will show up to save him after evading Edward. When she gets there, they will kill him anyways and she will be in danger (hehe) but Edward will show up and save the day.
I think that Renee will die. Either on her way to Bella’s wedding, on her way home, or in some kind of tragic accident. I do not think that it will have anything to do with vampires, however it will effect bella’s mood, and maybe put off her turning, or it could advance it, because she could feel like the only thing she has left is Charlie, and how easy it would be for him to get used to living on his own again. I also think that Renee’s death would have a huge huge effect on Charlie. The poor man never got over the woman he loved and married at such a young age, and although he lost her to Phil, they stayed in touch because of their daughter, Bella, so he never really did lose her for good. And to all of a sudden not be able to have any contact or talk to the one woman he’s ever loved, would absolutely crush him, and that might delay Bella changing, because she would feel like she couldnt leave Charlie now, not with him being so upset and alone. Bella would be his only connection with Renee if she died, and it wouldn’t be very fair for that to be taken away, too. I hope Renee does not die in the book, as little as we’ve seen her, ive become slightly attached, and it would cause Bella to not change, and for her and Edward to not be together forever. Which would be very sad
Well, we all know one person who is going to die for sure. That person is Bella. I mean, she’ll be a vampire, but her heart won’t be moving anymore, and that means she’s dead technically.
But if someone else has to die, it will probably end up being one of the wolves. That will get to Bella, and make her realize that if she had never been around no one would have gotten hurt. Then she’ll go off and do something Bella-like (danger magnet) and have everyone freak out even more.
That’s just what I think.
Oh, and another thing. I know the preface is from Bella’s POV just like all the others. So she knows she is going to die by Edward’s hands. So I really think Bella is the only death.
Ok Casper, I realized that…I ment that she would see Bella’s descison to sneak off…not nescessarlily with who…

I think that Alice will die. I know it may sound depressing but she’s always saving Bella and I think that she will see The Volturie (ewwww) or see Jacob (major EWWWW) try to stop the wedding and try to stop them with keeping it a secret like a lot of things and try to make their wedding perfect.
I can see her fighting off The Volturi and get well….. killed. Or she will go to Jacob and try to talk some major sence into him (like everyone else needs to) and make him mad and he gets “ticked” off (dont want to cuss) and try to rip her to shreds.
Even just thinking about it makes ME sad but seeing her and what she sacrifices for Bella she would do anything to keep her safe.
i think bella will die, obviously, but not for the reasons that she previously wanted. she wont die because she just wants to be with edward. she will die because she has to save either charlie or jacob. charlie, because alice sees that the volturi are coming and they will come to her house and think that charlie knows about the vampires, giving them a reason to kill him. that would give bella reason enough to change. she would change to save jacob for the same reasons as before, the volturi. the volturi might also know that jacob knows about the vampires, so they might be coming for him, aside from the fact that they now know that he is a werewolf, (the denali pack’s fault, since one of the volturi has edward’s ability of reading minds, and the one became vengeful on the werewolfs when laurent died, and they found jacob during his “trip” up past northern canada, eventually stopping in Alaska, since he thinks that bella will also be attending the college up there in the fall, he will wait for her.) so the volturi find jacob in alaska, waiting for bella to come with edward to “attend school”. they will kill him, but instead, the cullens arrive in denali in time, and carlisle, (being the favorite of some of the volturi) strikes a deal with them (since he knows how much bella cares for jacob, via edward) to let jacob go in exchange for bella becoming a vampire. the volturi agree, then jacob gets to say goodbye to bella, then bella gets changed, hence the “dying person” theory that SM has implyed, if ever implyed.

I am posting this without reading anyone else’s post, so I am not tainted by the hundreds of other thoughts floating around.
I strongly believe that Bella is going to die, and be turned into a Vampire. I don’t think it will be at an opportune time. It will be something that has to happen quickly to save her from a mortal death, giving her immortal life. I think the scene we get to ‘see’ in the epilogue is when Edward is going to change her, but I have a terrible feeling it is going to be interrupted. I don’t believe Edward gets to change her under his time/circumstances.
I know everyone is saying how romantic it would be, but I don’t think we will be that lucky. I am not sure than any other characters will die, if one does it may be a death that is covered up to make it look like it is an accident, hence the Volturi get hungry and eat a townsperson, and make it look ‘natural’. I am not sure who that would be, but more than likely a very inconsequential character.

OK so I was reading through New Moon, and I skipped to the end, because that’s when the vampires come back, and in the Epilogue I found something interesting. On page 552 Bella puts together that Edward could kill Jacob his he really wanted to. Know in Eclipse, Edward and Jacob seem to have an understanding, but in Romeo and Juliet (excuse me if this isn’t right I don’t remember every detail about R&J) it seems almost like Romeo can stand Paris. But as everyone knows Paris ends up falling to the sword of Romeo. Bella makes note of this when she thinks, “Abruptly, I remembered what happened to Paris when Romeo came back. The stage directions were simple: They fight. Paris falls. But that was ridiculous. Immpossible.” Now that I’m done quoting, even though this happened in New Moon, could it be forshading? In R&J, Paris says, as his dying words, that he would like to be put next to Juliet in the tomb, because Paris really does love Juliet, he just doesn’t know everything about her life. Just like jacob really doesn’t know everything about Bella’s life with Edward. If any character was to die I think that it will be Jacob. This is because when Paris died, the ‘old’ part of Juliet died, the part before she met Romeo. If Jacob does die then it will be like a ‘old’ part of Bella dying, but a new part of her being born when she is changed into a vampire.
Sorry if this was more of a Romeo and Juliet answer, but I thought that it connected good with character death, not that it’s any fun. Like all the Deaths in the Harry Potter series. Anyway keep up the great work on the podcast! =)

I think that one of the Cullens will die along with one of the wolfs. I think that one of the cullens will die to sacrifice themselves to save Bella. I think it might be Esme or Carlisle!!! 🙁 I dont know why, I just have this feeling that none of them have been hurt, and I think we will have a happy ending, without several characters.

I also have a strong feeling that Sam Uley might die. I only have one thought and it is a horrid thought (for me anyways).
Sam tries to break up a fight between Jacob and Edward (started by Jacob though). Edward will most likely refuse and keep the peace and try to follow in Carlisle’s footsteps. I think Jacob will get 2 mad and turn into a werewolf. Sam will try to keep him calm and gets attacked by, both, Jacob AND Paul from maybe making a smart remark like “Don’t start turning into Paul”. He will be out numbered and Edward will be no part. In the end Jacob will be ashamed of himself and put it all on himself.
Bella will try to stop Jacob and will get a mark resembled to Emily’s.
I know Kassie hates Jacob and I’m tottally and completely with her I don’t know why anybody would be so stupid and skip through her side of why Bella should be with Edward like someone I know. I love you Kassie and I hope you guys never stop doing this until your dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

I have a weird feeling that Angela is going to die. I know it sounds random, but throughout the past books her role in Bella’s life has steadily grown. She was a background character in Twilight, but in Eclipse she and Bella seemed to become close friends. I think her role in Breaking Dawn has to be important, why else would Stephenie Meyer develop her so much?
I could see Angela somehow discovering the Cullens’ secret, either by the popular theory of Jacob imprinting on her holding true, and the pack telling her, or simply by deduction. If she were to discover the secret, then when the Volturi enevitably comes to call on Bella, and the see that Angela knows… then they’d kill her.
This of course would send Bella into a rage spiral, I’m assuming that by this point she’d probably already be a vampire, probably in Alaska. They say that newborns are uncontrollable, so maybe Bella will go after the Volturi herself? Then of course Edward would have to save her…
I DO think that Angela will be the only good one to die. Anything else would be too cruel.
Did it say somewhere that someone was going to die? Because unless is was on an official press release with a clip that says “I’m Stephenie Meyer and I approve this message” at the end, then I refuse to believe it.
I really don’t think anyone will die. I think we’re taking all our cues from JK Rowling (grr) and at least she had the decency to warn her readers. I’d like to think Stephenie Meyer would do the same for us.
At the same time, for the sake of answering the question, I think that if someone dies, it will be a major character and it will be devastating (unfortunately). AND this death will be a turning point in the book (for the better or worse- who knows?). I say this only because if Stephenie is going to kill any of her characters, it will not be a side character left to die in vain and to be overshadows by larger events in the book. It will probably be THE event of the book.
Which means, I’m going back to my happy denial theory that no one will die, haha.
Of all the characters, i think Rosalie will be the one to die.
Even though we don’t really feel it, Rosalie has already formed a tight bond with Bella. Bella, of course, is unaware of this affection but knows Rosalie accepts her.
I don’t want Rosalie to die, though. That would be sad. She’s my favorite. maybe, like in your ROSAMMETT podcast, she’ll just be scathed.

I can not imagine SM killing off any of the Cullens. Stephenie is a hopless romantic and I don’t fell that she would ever part with anyone of the Cullens dying. How could anyone one of the Cullens live with themselves for all eternity without their partner with them? There would be no way to replace the missing void in their life from loosing their other half.
If someone would have to die I would say maybe one of Volutri. I think they will play sometime of part in the 4th book. Perhaps they finally run into the wolf pack and go head to head on a full on battle. Perhaps the Cullens (Bella included) will team up with the pack once again to fight against the Vultri. The last time the formed an alliance Jake got hurt. So maybe this time it would be Sam’s turn. If Sam were to die then his death would make Jake to Alpha male. Forcing him to come back from where ever he is hiding.
I think that if Sam were to die someone from the Cullen clan would step forward to go after the Volturi. This proving to the wolf pack that the Cullens are not like normal vampires and they can be trusted and a friendship can form…forcing everyone one to live happily ever after…
I mean how else could SM stop about the series unless all ended well.
I also want to add that killing of the Cullens off would be like killing one of us and SM would not do that to her beloved fans…..
She just can’t….
How heartbreaking would that be to end the series without a whole family that we all love so much. Bella isn’t just marrying Edward…but his whole family. There would be no way to cope with a lose that great….I don’t think there would be a happy ever after, if that were to happen.
I think I’ve gotta go with the majority here and say Sam. It’s the only real reason I see for Jacob returning. The Alpha Male has to lead the pack.
If it must be a vampire then I hope it’s one of the Vulturi as opposed to the Cullen’s. If it’s a Cullen it will be Rosalie or Esme, I think. It’s heartbreaking to even consider it though. As much as I like them, Rosalie and Esme don’t really have a power that is useful in battling and I think there has to be some sort of battle in Breaking Dawn unless Stephenie wishes to defy her male fans. =P

Cullens (C, Es, R, Em, A, J, Ed, B) – All live Can you tell I’m going for the happy ending?!??
Jared/Embry/Paul – One more werewolf has to die I think it will be a more minor one. Probably Paul, since he hasn’t imprinted yet.
Leah/Seth – both live, the series has to continue somehow!

I think Billy Black will be the character who dies in ‘Breaking Dawn’. Stephenie Meyer has a good reason to kill him: If Bella becomes a vampire, and doesn’t tell her family, there’s always the looming threat that Billy could tell Charlie all he knows about the Cullens.
I’m not sure how Billy will die. Perhaps if the Volturi were to come and check to see if Bella is a vampire yet, they will somehow stumble upon the fact that there is an old man who knows a lot about the vampires, and feel that it is necessary to destroy him.
Jacob could be the “him” in Breaking Dawn, who’s going to kill Bella. If her relationship with Edward was the cause of his father’s death, that would give him plenty of reason to want to kill her. His anger would only be magnified if by the instinctive loathing of vampires by werewolves, if she’d already become one.
If someone had to die (I’m not sure that anyone will die in the first place), I would say that it would have to be either Billy Black or Sam Uley. I really don’t think that SM would kill off one of the major characters, like any of the Cullens, Jacob, or Bella. As much as I don’t like Jacob, Stephenie does like him and wouldn’t kill him off. I think Billy may die because the Volturi could find out that he is threatening to tell Charlie about the vampires, and be forced to kill him. On the other hand, if the Volturi is too late and Billy already tells Charlie, then Charlie could get killed as well, or maybe even get turned into a vampire (even though that would be strange and probably won’t happen). Or maybe Jacob would do something stupid in front of the Volturi and Sam would die trying to save him, leaving Jacob as the pack leader. I guess we’ll all have to wait to find out.

The person who I think will die in Breaking Dawn is Carlisle. I think that he will be sacrificing himself for the good of the rest of his family, perhaps in battle (?) with the werewolves, since we know that the treaty has no boundries. If they bite Bella anywhere in the world, the wolves could go after them if they saw fit. If they don`t attack the Cullens, I think that Carlisle will die somewhere else in the book, though I don`t know where.
I also think that there is a possibility of one of the pack dying. I think that if one of them died, it would be between Quil, Embry, and Seth. Quil and Embry maybe trying to protect another of the wolves (Jacob maybe, if he returns) and Seth, since the young wolf is still so eager to prove himself.

The person I think who will die in Breaking Dawn is Jacob. Many have had said Jacob will die by being killed by Edward. Well, my opinion is that Jacob will be killed by Bella herself. I know it is stated in Eclipse that Bella probably wouldn’t want to drink his blood because he is a werewolf. But, I still kind of wonder if she will kill him. I think that Bella will be bitten before Jake gets to talk to her about it and when she kind of “wakes up” from her pain she will see Edward and Jake fighting. Jake will attack Edward and maybe hurt him, and Bella just waking up out of being bitten will sort of want blood. She will kind of have the vampiryness in her and she will want to take care of Edward. So if Jake injured Edward somehow, I think Bella would attack and try to kill him. I think she will regret killing him later, but I think she’ll be really angry that Jake hurt Edward too.
Well those are my theories.

And I just suddenly had this whole realization thing. Maybe Edward will die. I know none of us want this to happen, I love Edward. I back him all the way! Team Edward! But after thinking about the color of the pawn on the Breaking Dawn cover, I see red. Red reminds me of Fire. I wondered why fire sounded familiar so I opened my Eclipse book to the Robert Frost poem. And it says this:
Some say the world will end in fire.
Some say ice.
From what I have tasted of desire,
I hold with those who favor fire.
So this makes me think, hmmm. Fire. Who could Fire represent. Hmm…Jacob. Jacob is a wolf, and they have high body heat. And Edward is a “cold one”. So Ice. And it says the world will end in fire. Somehow, I wonder if Bella will choose Jacob over Edward. This sounds crazy, but I start to wonder and really think about it. The poem goes on to say:
but if i had to perish twice,
i think i know enough hate,
to say that for destruction ice
is also great.
And would suffice.
So I wonder if it sort of could tie-in with Breaking Dawn. It makes me think that if Bella could start over again after choosing Jacob(which I hope she doesn’t), she would choose Edward….

First off, i would be absolutely devastated if any Cullen died. But i would ball my eyes out and go into solitary confinement if Bella or Edward died, or they didn’t end up together ultimately in the end. If a Cullen were to die there is always the chance of them piecing themselves back together if they didn’t get put into a fire. If you lose one Cullen it would ruin at least one love relationship.
I also really like the idea of Jacob dying to save Bella and Edward and their relationship. Stephenie really likes Jacob and if he died that way he would be seen as a hero. And Edward and Jacob fans would both really like him for that, or i would anyways.
And i think a wolf will definately die, as long as its not Seth I wont be that concerned.
Also, Jane or Tanya might die as well.
I think that the pawn on the chess board is Bella’s human side. The pawn is red which symbolizes blood and Bella is sacrificing her human part of her to be a vampire and be with Edward. I’m not sure if any one will die except her human side. I don’t care if people hate this statement but I would be perfectly content with Jacob dying. I absolutely hate him. I do see good in him but that part is overlooked because of how irritating he is. I would hate it if Seth died. I think Sam might die and that’s what brings Jacob back. Now I’m just rambling. I WOULD BE DEVASTATED IF ANYBODY LOVEABLE DIES. WE DON’T EVEN KNOW IF ANY HUGE CHARACTERS DIE ANYWAY SO LET’S JUST BE POSITIVE ABOUT THIS AND HOPE THAT IF ANYBODY DIES, IT WILL BE SOMEONE THAT NOBODY LIKES (HINT HINT! THE VOLTURI!!!!! ESPECIALLY JANE OR DEMETRI)
