Question of the Week ~ Mystery Story?
Jun 26th, 2008 | By Kallieross | Category: Question of the WeekThis week we have a questions that might just make you think harder than any other question we have asked before! While Stephenie Meyer was in Germany on her book tour, she mentioned that Breaking Dawn correlates to two stories. One story she confirmed was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but the second remains a mystery!
My best friend said someone on here had the idea, and I agree with them, that the other book might be “Peter Pan”. I haven’t thought about it too much, but Peter will never grow up and live forever, so does Edward. Wendy had the choice to stay with him amd also never grow up, so does Bella. It definetly has it’s possiblities.
Jane Eyre, I think. Remember, its LOOSELY based.
Basically, Jane Eyre is about a girl that thinks little of herself yet falls in love with a man above her in every way. He by some miracle loves her too, although he cannot see the differences she does between them. He proposes marriage to her, and she accepts, although she is troubled by his showering of gifts on her. She believes it only makes the gap greater between them. When they are at the altar, about to be married, a big secret comes into light and they do not get married. She leaves to live with relatives, and he endures great sufferings. In the end, she comes back, and finds he is blind and missing a hand, therefore evening them out and making them equals, where they marry and live happily ever after.
If that doesn’t make sense to be a loose plot outline for BD, I don’t know what does. I don’t think that Edward will become disfigured or anything… I think that he will bite Bella, therefore creating her as an equal. Also, I forgot to mention, in the middle, when Jane leaves Edward (Rochester), she gets unwilling romantic attention from some guy (her cousin? If I remember correctly…) which fits Jake in.
I think it makes alot of sense… Plus, I believe SM has alluded to the fact that BD will end happily, how the readers want it. 98% of the fan base is Team Edward, and I don’t think SM would create a four book saga about vampires to have her heroine end up with the werewolves. Also, the spanish editor of Breaking Dawn said that the book is full of passion, surprises, etc, but also suffering. So… Thats my opinion. Jane Eyre. I think it most likely. Can’t wait for BD!!!
xoxoxo,
The REAL Mrs. Edward Cullen
I agree with Toni Sifonte…her theory is very, very similar to the one that I submited to Supporter Speculations last week. When I heard it on the podcast I just about flipped. Cant wait to find out what happens.
