*The place to start is the NASA eclipse page, administered by the godfather of eclipse chasing, astronomer Fred Espenak, with help from Canadian meteorologist Jay Anderson. The repeating orbital geometries of the sun, Earth and moon, called the Saros cycles, result in total solar eclipses (when the moon completely blocks the sun) every year or two somewhere in the world. funny story i was checking up on the solar eclipse just last week XD made me kinda sad that i may only see a partial eclipse where i am.
Yea there is gonna be an Eclipse AND a New Moon. Everyone keeps forgetting to mention the New Moon but, yea there will be both on August 1st
