Question of the Week
There are a few “missing” chapters, posted on Stephenie Meyer’s site, that
were not included in Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. Do you think that
any of the “missing” chapters will help us decifer what will happen in
Breakinng Dawn? And, give us details!!
(What Should Have Been Episode 27 will eventually be posted, after extensive editing. Apologizes to everybody for this; please tune in next week for your regularly scheduled hosting.)
Okay, I have read all the missing chapters and I honestly don’t think that they are needed. I mean I do love every single detail about these books but, I agree with her editor that they were unneccesary. And plus, Stephanie Meyer wouldn’t have LET them take it out if it mattered.
stephenie said she wouldnt be posting outtakes for eclipse because there was nothing good, but extras wont be out for a while.
i’ve also read the other extras and outtakes for twilight and new moon.
i dont think anything that is currently posted would help us figure this out.
seeing how much she wants breaking dawn to be a certain expierence, she is going to be doing her best to keep the important things out of sight, out of mind.
i dont know about you, but its driving me crazy! i cant wait for this book!!!!!
I don’t think they will help.
I personally think the chapters are just there because SM sort of liked them, but wanted us to get a taste of what she had taken out. If they had any information needed in Breaking Dawn, they would’ve been in the books, not as outtakes on her website.
If there was anything that would point to the events in the next book they would not be up on the site. In fact, they would be taken down so nobody would find out what happens.
I don’t think they have anything to do with breaking dawn. They are just outtakes of twilight. I just think Stephenie didn’t think they were necessary in twilight.
Keep you the great Work guys ๐
Personally, I agree with everybody else…. They wouldn’t be taken out of the book if they meant anything huge. I think that their just character developements, like with Edward & the North Pacific Trust (that sponsership thingy!). That only gives us more information about Bella’s & Edward’s personality & does not relate to anything that happens in Eclipse. However, the one important extra, is Jacob’s point of view. But, it stops at the end of New Moon, so we can’t really find out what he’s thinking in Eclipse, thus not really much help for Breaking Dawn theories.
I don’t really think they will help us figure out anything big, but they might be hints to smaller details.
For example: the outake from twilight when Alice and Jasper are taking Bella to Phoenix really shows us the whole Alice-shopping “relationship”.
Also, the outake also from Twilight about Emmett and the Bear shows how Edward and Emmett intercact like brothers. Also, it shows Edward learning to cook.
All these things have come u a little in the other books and I expect they’ll be even more present in Breaking Dawn.
In the New Moon outtake entitled, “If Jacob Didn’t Break the Rules” on the bottom of page 6 Stephenie Meyer writes, “She’s not for you.” (This is Sam telling Jacob that Bella is not for Jacob). Then Meyer writes, “Jacob didn’t answer, and I was torn.” (This is what Bella is observing and thinking after hearing Sam’s comment to Jacob). Keep in mind that this part of the story is before Edward has returned back into Bella’s life. What I found interesting is that even though Edward is not in the picture, Sam seems to already know that Jacob was never meant to be with Bella. Sam knows better than anyone else the affects that imprinting can have and we already that Jacob did not imprint on Bella so that could be why Sam tells Jacob that Bella is not for him. Also, the fact that Jacob did not argue or disagree with Sam is very uncharacteristic of the Jacob we all know, but perhaps, Jacob already knows that there is truth in Samโs words. The impression that I got while reading this was that Stephenie Meyer has always known that Bella and Jacob could never be, which could foreshadow what happens in Breaking Dawn… Bella ends up with Edward and Jacob ends up with ________(insert name). We already know that Bella chose Edward in Eclipse; however, I think that both Stephenie Meyer and Bella will want Jacob to be happy too, even if it means that Jacob ends up with someone else.
Yay! This is the first comment Iโm making so here it goes ๐
I don’t think any of the chapters give anything away for Breaking Dawn.
Here are my reasons(#2 is the most convincing one):
1) The chapters were taken out because they were not necessary for those stories themselves, not cause they gave anything away
2) Stephanie has been very VERY careful w/ EVERYTHING! (I wish she wasn’t sometimes) If they had anything to do with future books, she would know better than to put them up [She knows how we read into EVERYTHING and would have possibly most likely deciphered it]
Can’t wait ’till yall come back on, ‘Cause Houstonians miss you ๐
20 Days left… AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Sa’Misty
I think the denali clan will play a part in breaking dawn because of all the holes left in their personalities and abilties. We know a few of them have special powers and that Tanya has (or had) a thing for Edward. But that’s pretty much it other than the fact that they’re vegitarians. I don’t entirley believe they’ll be wedding crashers, they might just be some friends bella and edward visit and spend some time with after bella becomes a vampire. But the book could be a lot less mellow and have the denali clan come down to destroy the wolves to avenge laurent. I think that is highly likely other-wise it wouldn’t have been mentioned in eclipse that it bugged them. I think there was a subtle romance between Laurent and Irina and Irina isn’t about to let him go unavenged. So that line of the story would play up the wolves again and force Bella and edward to return to forks and jacob to come back and quit being such a baby. Oh and I almost forgot, someone mildly important will die during the fight and the books will have a dramatic ending
DA DA DAAAA!
thanks for reading my weird answer
whoops i thought it said characters
forget I typed the stuff above
So far, in all the books, we’ve learned a little bit about the history of each Cullen.
Twilight was for Edward, Esme, Alice, and Carlisle (ish)
New Moon was uuhhh, not really a vampire book-let’s skip that one.
Eclipse was dedicated for Rosalie.
Maybe Breaking Dawn will go more into detail about Emmet’s beginnings. Maybe his story will help Bella be even more sure of her desicion to become a Cullen.
Isabella Cullen just sounds better than Isabella Black.
Don’t’cha think?
Emmet said something in that “chapter” that really stuck with me
“When he ever gets around to accepting the inevitable, you’ll do fine.”
He says this to Bella about her becoming a vampire. I looooove this quote!
Later he said to Edward about Bella
“You’ll have to put her down sometime.”
I’,m sure Emmet was refferring to Bella’s change.
“Put her down,” like killing her (ya know, when your pet is sick and it’s easier to put them to sleep than let them suffer-or-“Put her down,” could mean Edward has to let go of his wants for Bella, and let destiny/fate (if you believe in that stuff) work its magic.
my theory is small cuz I made this promise to myself to not get my hopes up or sights set on ONE outcome for Bella/Edward/(urgh, dare I even say it?)Jacob…
sad for me, I know.
I’m still gonna listen to y’all’s podcast, but I’m not gonna hold on to any theory, I wanna be surprised…
or do I? I DON”T KNOW ANYMORE!
There was one thing that I noticed as I read through the Twilight outtakes.
“You’re part of the coven now,” he teased, smiling warmly……
“Very subtle Jasper,” I heard Alice say in a wry tone.
This might have been just teasing, but if Jasper of all vampires can say that she is part of the coven this early in the series, I would say that clues in to her being a real member soon.
if anything, these are just giving us insights on the characters — more about them then what is portrayed in the books…
i don’t think that SM would put these up if she were going to use them in Breaking Dawn…however, i think they could lead us into more knowledge of character personalities…like the big long one with jacob that it pained me to read (TEAM EDWARD — to the max xD <3) could give some more detail into how his mind really works.
however, since all the extras and outtakes are from major plot points in there designated books, i don’t think they are going to be much help for breaking dawn speculations…though i almost wish they would be…SM would probably just take them down though if she thought we would discover something…
then again, SM mind is amazing, and like the first quote she posted, she is a genius…and she could trick us…she could just not even think anything of it since they were from the other books…but then again..i dunno…i just know that i cannot wait for the book to come out! i think we’ve all been tortured quite enough!!
love the podcast, ladies! looking forward to more hopefully soon! haha
btw, did i mention, TEAM EDWARD ALL THE WAY TO THE MAX AND INFINTIY AND BEYOND?! ahaha
Another thing I noticed was from “Miscalculation.” Rosalie was continually thinking about how ruined and broken and changed her family was with Edward’s absense. She also thought of what it would be like for her if Emmet was gone. Their family wasn’t the same with a member missing, which helps my much earlier statement that none of the Cullen’s should die because it would ruin the happiness of Bella and Edward (and of course everyone else, but mostly Bella and Edward).
So, I really don’t think that the outakes/extras have really any big hint on the 4th book. I would totally love it if SM had leaked something don’t get me wrong, but she is always so careful about everything. And if the outakes had anything to do with BD she wouldn’t have allowed the info to be taken out. And she would have found a way to put the info from the outakes the next book if she discovered she needed the info for a plot developement.
Yours in Theorizing,
Maddy
Personally, I think that if any of the outtakes would have had any important information they wouldn’t be outtakes and it would have been mentioned otherwise.
However, I do beleive that the extra on Rosalie may have something to do with Breaking Dawn. We might get to know Rosalie better, and she and Bella may discuss it. Or Bella will hear something from Emmett.
I think the Denali Clan is the key. What my WACKO theory is-now bear with me here- is the Cullens and the Denali clan will get together, and recruit the other vampires-even the non-vegetarian ones. I think there will be a war btw the Cullen-Denali-other vampires army, and the Volturri! I think the Volturi will lose leaving the Cullens and the Denali clan in charge. I think now Edward, since the Volturri are not after her, will not change Bell! ๐
I also this that Emmette and /or Mike will have a BIG part in BD!
so there is my CRAZY theory… hope you injoyed it.
~Allison D!
I don’t think that the outtakes or extras have anything to do with what will happen in Breaking Dawn. I do, however, think that the craptastic cover for Forever Dawn has something to do with the book. Stephenie Meyer said that Forever Dawn did have a rough outline for what will happen in Breaking dawn. The cover for Forever Dawn has a girl with red eyes and brown hair on the cover. I think this is Bella as a vampire. Stephenie also said that she didn’t want to post about Forever DAwn because it would give away what happens in Breaking Dawn. i don’t know for sure. Just a thought.
Forever Dawn and Breaking Dawn both have Dawn in their name so it’s just more proof that they’re about the same thing
i just felt like giving people facts that might help decipher the cover to Breaking Dawn.
Facts about Chess:
1. When a pawn reaches the other side of the board it can promote-or switch places with a queen, rook, knight, or bishop of its own color
2. The queen is the strongest piece in Chess
3. A pawn can promote to a piece that’s already been lost
4. When a pawn promotes it can turn into a piece you already have on the board. You could have a second queen.
5. Promotion happens all at once. It doesn’t take more than one turn.
6. once the pawn promotes it is disposed of and is replaced with the new piece
7. Once the pawn is replaced it can’t be used until the next game
8. Only pawns can promote
9. Pawns can be captured directly after promotion
10. Pawns can capture queens, rooks, nights, bisops, and they can check kings
So here you go. Make whatever predictions you want and good luck!
Honestly no. the cover of Forever Dawn Maby. But there is a reason they are not in the books. Because they where not important to the books and them being in the books dosent change anything.
I know this is a random thought and doesn’t have anything to do with the outtakes or extras. But in Twilight it is said that human memories fade, and with all the questions Edward asked about her life and everything they go through in each of the books, knowing Bell’s love for reading I thought it would be really cool that Edward would write a book of her life as a wedding present for her.
I Dont really think so!! Most of the Extras or Outtakes that have been edited out are a continuation of the stories!! They are fun to read but don’t really add that much to what is already known!!! If they were a contibution to Breaking Dawn I think they would have been taken down due to that fact!! They would ruin the story!!
Keep up with the Amazing Podcast!!!
Hey Guys,
I do understand where you could get that sort of idea but I hate to break it to you that the “missing chapters” are just parts of the books that just didn’t make the final cut. Knowing how much Stephenie loves her characters and their lives I can just see her fighting to keep in parts of the books that really matter in the storyline. In fact she’s had a few arguements on what to pitch or keep in her books so I don’t think the missing chapters will have any mystical meaning for you as far as figuring out more on Breaking Dawn but they do go into more detail on the little things like Bella getting ready for the prom in Twilight and stuff. Sorry that the missing chapters aren’t pieces to the puzzle but the ideas on your show usually sound right.
I don’t personally think that any of them will let out any big secret. Stephanie Meyer and her editor wouldn’t have allowed then out if they were going to give anything away. However, I think a few have good points, for instance, in the one from Twilight, “Emmett and the bear”, it just talks about how Bella will be okay when Edward changes her, just because he’ll be there, and he’s always been able to make her feel better and forget what is happening, at least a little. Other than that, sorry, I don’t think they’ll let out any big huge secret. Stephanie Meyer is too careful with everything she releases so that she doesn’t give anything away. Sorry, and I love your show! I just started listening to them last week, but I’m all caught up and I love you guys. And Cassie, I totally agree with you on Jacob!

Like many of the other people to comment, I don’t think the outtakes could include any major plotpoints that weren’t siphoned into another chapter…they couldn’t have taken them out if that was the case! Also, Stephanie Meyer says on her website that the characters evolved as she got more involved in the story. For example, Rosalie wasn’t always so “antagonistic” as she is now, so some of the outtakes have slightly different characters than the ones we know now. I really don’t think the outtakes will make a huge difference on the story, now that they’ve been left out, and I don’t think we can get anything out of the outtakes that hasn’t been mentioned.
Hi,
I just wanted to say, that I have read the “missing” chapters and I agree with with Stephanies editor that those chapters were not needed. I really dont think that would have anything to do with Breaking Dawn. It was just some details that were not needed.
Oh, and I recently just strted listening to your podcasts and I wanted to say thanks. They were interesting and they answered some of my questions I was wondering.
