Kaleb has just finished Chapter 3 of New Moon, “The End.”  He seems pretty down, just like we all were after reading this chapter.  This one was a bummer for me as well.  Sigh.  To check out his reaction, click here.

i felt exactly like kaleb. i was depressed and i sobbed. i cried like i never had before. usually i only cry when watching movies and someone dies. but this time the hurt that bella was feeling, i was feeling as well. i cried through out the chapter, it wasnt a little tear here and there it was sobbing, and im not ashamed to admit. i connected with bella and edward and it hurt when he broke her heart. but now they better end up together and happy forever as two vampires in breaking dawn. it would not feel right any other way.

You know, I don’t think Gaby could have said it better in any way.
Her explaination is pretty much the way I felt.
    I agree with her 100%.
It wouldn’t feel right if they didn’t end up married and happy.

I totally agree. I think watching Edward leaving was actually worse than when you see a character die. It hurt.. so much more. I also remember just through out the whole of New Moon, just every time Bella though about Edward i would just break down again. When i read Kaleb’s post… all the old tears and freak outs came right back. Y_Y

I’m re-re-reading “New Moon” right now, too. I’m really feeling some love for Jacob again.
    Poor guy…

Omg, I cried so much at the end of this chapter. i felt just like Kaleb!
I’ve never cried so much on a book before…:'(

the first time i experienced the books was in audiobook form…. and when edward left i rewound it in puzzlement. but it was at that second that i knew the books were genius and not just typical fiction. i spent the rest of the day listening to the book non-stop (not an easy feat! and my husband had to put up with it too.) but i must admit that bella’s pain was hard to deal with. leaves me a little breathless just thinking about it.

Uh…I just finished re-reading New Moon before Breaking Dawn comes out and I was like SUPER depressed the day I read Edward leaving….my mom was all like “are you okay?” and I was like, “its a twilight thing mom.”

    Nuff said.

It was kind of shock for me what I first read it because of the fact that it was just so… surreal. This is like the chapter to dread in all of the books. I loved how Jacob was able to lift Bella up from her depressed state, but It’s Bella and Edward all the way for me. He didn’t leave her because he wanted to, it was because he had to. He explained the reasoning at the end of the book and it is the most… heartfelt, most… genuine thing I’ve heard.

People question why Bella went back to Edward all the time and that chapter where he explains why he left along with why he can’t live in a world without her… I mean… Edward did nothing wrong, per se. I dunnoe. I’m just rambling now. LOL Go Kaleb!

Wow, Stephenie must be a genius if she’s stirring up these kinds of reactions from people. LOL
