  1. Michelle says:

Sounds great. I won’t be surprised if there are 1 Edward or Jacob cards for every 20 packs. That would bring in business =]

  2. Alicia says:

This is where I start going “why?”.

  3. Tina says:

    lol i agree whith Alicia…
haha, the movie isn’t even out yet and they’re already going merchandise crazy!
Trading cards are a bit much… but i can’t complain if they have some super sexy card pictures of my favorite Vampires 😛

  4. Kat says:

Yeah… I really didn’t want Twilight to be going into this direction. :/ I mean, the calendar is fine… but dude. I don’t know.

  5. Olivia says:

    Seems kinda… wierd….

  6. Megan says:

I personally think that a lot of aspects in Twilight are being overdone in light of the movie. These trading cards are a perfect example of what I’m talking about. Things like this are not necessary, and rather annoying in my opinion.

  7. Christine says:

This was one of the very things that I was dreading. I didn’t think they would go this far, although the idea isn’t really THAT repulsive. I just don’t think that Twilight should be merchandised like this.

Before we know it…they’ll have a video game of the Cullens playing baseball!

  8. Michelle says:

    NEW QUOTE!

Rosalie: “Over my pile of ashes.”

  9. Alicia says:

The trading cards are kind of pushing it. I mean, as much as they would like the guys to come to this movie too, lets face it, the audience is going to be girls/women. While the idea of having a card of Edward is appealing, trading cards are kind of a stretch for a female based fandom.

They need to stick with a few shirts, posters, and the Cullen Crest and leave the rest of the marketing to the cast and various clips around. If they keep going, it’s going to come off hokey and really appear like they are trying too hard to promote the movie. Trying too hard to promote a movie generally makes the public think it’s either a bad movie or it gets the audience tired of it before it even hits theaters.

  10. Tiffany says:

well its definitely a money maker…but trading cards? i can understand harry potter going there…but twilight going that low? i dunno…

i agree with alicia as well…stick with the shirts, posters and the crest…thats more than enough

  11. Peeves says:

    Sweeeeet!!! 😛

  12. shina says:

    oh lord.

  13. Tracy says:

Well I, um, am surprised. I’ll just say that to be polite.

However, since I reeaallly want Twilight to make tons of money for the studio so we can then have *all* the books made into movies, I will just stand back and let the merchandising happen.

I may even be tempted to buy a pack…

  14. Samie says:

ok WTF! that is REALLY pushing it…what are they gonna start comeing out with Dolls next! if they do imma gonna scream! and thats not a good thing. i can see that they wanna push this movie. cuz well we gotta beat the harry potter one in novemeber! haha but anywhoo…they dont need to go as far as to make tradeing card. thats pushing it a little to far.

  15. Sabrina says:

I have to disagree with the people who are saying that the trading cards are a bit too much. I’ve always loved collecting trading cards and stickers and whenever I’m obsessed with something, I want to have different kinds of merchandise such as cards, posters, phone straps and other stuff.

So yes, I think it’s a brilliant idea and I can’t wait to get my hands on them 😉 The thing that’d really push it would be a Twilight videogame XD I’m a gamer, but honestly: What would the game be about? Being Bella and running through Forks, trying to dodge James? XD THAT would be silly, but trading cards? Don’t think so.

  16. The Twihard says:

    Maybe a tad too commercial.

The whole trading cards cards thing seems a little weird, Twilight doesn’t seem like a traking card kind of movie.

  17. Kate says:

This is going to far. And that is a very good point about the mainly female fandom Alicia. I mean, I probably will get them, but people doing this need to remember that this is a book. How about promting the book a little!

  18. The Twihard says:

    TADING card, sorry

    I agree with Alicia.

  19. thegratefulbrunette says:

As a major star wars fan i’m used to this sort of thing and i actually like the idea. I’m a little shocked that people are rejecting the idea as much as they are. It’s good promotion and it brings in money. More money means more movies which i’m all for. 😀

As for trading cards being an all-guy-thing i beg to differ. Almost every one of my girl friends has trading cards from one thing or another. And since we’re all Twilight fans i’m very certain that we’ll be buying these cards as well. 😀

  20. McKell says:

I hope this won’t become over done 🙁 Haha but it would be funny if you saw people playing like pokemon with them 😀 “My Edward can beat your Jacob easy! Edward use mind control!”

  21. ReturnedSecrets says:

I grew up with trading cards and collected ET and Star Wars through the years, but they don’t seem to have the same popularity as they did when I was growing up. I could be wrong though. LoL My kid hasn’t ever really been into collecting cards too much.

I do wonder if the demographic for Twilight would really be into collecting trading cards. I’m sure my daughter will want them cause she loves all things Twilight, but I think I can speak for both when I say action figures are a better idea!

  22. marissa says:

you ppl must not be true twilight fans if you dont think this is totally AWSOME…..
im a true twilighter and i love the fact that there having twilight merchandice….
its just more stuff for me to put up in my room and stare at….
    AHHH!!

  23. Suzie says:

    I say go for the trading cards! I think it’s a GREAT idea! ! ! !

  24. Heather says:

I have the 4-pack of cards they were giving away at Comic-Con. They’re actually pretty cool. There isn’t any “game” element, just character facts, etc. Plus, Rob Pattinson looks HOT as Edward in his solo card. But…if they start doing dolls and and games, then it would be going overboard. Really the only thing I would buy is the crest and the movie soundtrack – since that should be pretty cool!

  25. Sam says:

I really like the cards. Like Heather said above me, I have them from Comic con too, theres no like “Edward use splash attack!” There just cool, and fun to collect. And if your a pack rat and a Twilight fan (Much like myself) your probably going to be out buying them. Like the site said….theres going to be rare cards and everything, which will be cool. I’m guessing a signed card would be about the same rarity as a sparky card in Pokemon. Haha, Oh well. I personally cant wait to buy them, I think there going to be fun to play around with and read! 😀

  26. elaine says:

i cant wait for the emmett and the jasper cards!

  27. Lennie says:

I agree with Alicia and Christine. This is too much. =[

  28. K. says:

I like the idea. I already collect Harry Potter cards, and Twilight is awsome, so I’ll just be adding more to my evergrowing collection!!

  29. Hayley young says:

so i’m like 6 away from having the whole collection!!! these gards are awesome!!! everyone needs to collect them!!
