  1. Erica says:

I am getting married in just over 2 weeks. If I feel what Bella feels as she is walking down the aisle toward Edward, everything will be perfect. The way she felt nervous as her time to walk came nearer..how she was afraid of falling…and finally, how she had to fight the urge to sprint (with Charlie’s help) to Edward once she saw him standing there waiting for her. It was beautiful.

  2. Erica says:

Kind of a funny sidenote to go with the above…my fiance’s name is Charlie Edward…and yes, I have asked him (in jest) if I can call him by his middle name. Lol.

  3. Marci (major obsessed) says:

It felt like there were a lot of missing holes in the wedding. It was way too rushed. I mean at the first she is so talking about how the ring feels so heavy and then the wedding happens so fast. Also in the interivew Stephanie did on the news she talked about wanting the wedding to be so important and it seemed like it was missing so many details. Her friends were not even mentioned or their feelings etc. Also it felt really rushed and I felt like we didn’t get Bella’s feelings or emotions or Edwards enough. I also felt like the parents were not enough apart of it. Even when Bella finally looked in the mirror I expected her to be shocked by her appearance being so beautiful from Alice’s masterpeice. I also expected more from Bella and Edward when they saw each other down the isle. And where was Edwards romantic vows etc.

  4. Meg says:

I ADORED the wedding! I have a bit of a wedding fixation and hope to pursue wedding planning as an career, so I loved reading this chapter. Personally, I would have enjoyed hearing more about the superfluous details, but that could go on forever. I completely forgot about the venue, but was thrilled when I realized Bella was making a grand entrance down the gorgeous staircase. Very majestic. I think having an understated wedding and reception is perfect for Bella and Edward. By understated I mean using a white and silver color theme, and allowing the natural beauty of the outdoors and simple lighting to create atmosphere.
I was very happy to see Bella overcome her nerves and finally realize how beautiful she is. It was nice to see Bella feeling carefree. Seth was definitely my favorite guest. His words are always so genuine. I did not think the wedding would bring Jacob back, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed his presence at the wedding (even when he was a little less than cordial). I also throughly enjoyed Emmett’s comments at the wedding!
One thing that threw me for a loop was the shoes tied onto the back of the car. I’ve only ever heard of cans, but I’m totally stealing the idea! Does anyone know where the shoe tradition came from?
What do you think Edward’s wedding band looks like?
I’d also love to see pics of Alice and Rosalie’s dresses and Bella’s hair.

  5. I just wanted to say that for you guys that feel that the wedding was rushed, I can say that since I have never gotten married I know people that have gotten married and they always say that the day day goes by wayyyyyyyy too fast! And I believe that whenever you do something that is special you want it to last forever, but unfortunately it goes by too fast. And that is why I believe the wedding was so rushed!!

  6. Christy says:

I loved the wedding, and how they finally got their happy ending. Was so happy to see Jake show up and then I about had an anxiety attack when he was losing it holding onto her. Would of thought that Emmett and Jasper would of come outside with Edward and Seth though to. Also would of liked it more if Bella would of had a bachlorette party. Everybody knows how much Alice loves any excuse to throw a party. I wanted more of dialogue with guests there and when she was dancing with Emmett and would of been nice to seen her dance with Jasper as well. Can’t wait until the movie to see the scene where Edward takes off the garter belt with his teeth and his brothers reactions. lol Loved it so much when he introduces his new wife to Tanya and pretty much blows her off. Couldn’t help but yell out yeah in your face! Edward and Bella *iotch! But in the end this book made me cry, laugh, smile, get really happy, and just about have an anxiety attack. Loved it! Also would of liked to of had alil more finality with her other human friends and what happens to them?

  7. Inez says:

I expected there to be a little bit more detail in the wedding. In all previous Twilight books, Bella would always go into full blown out details, but not so much in Breaking Dawn (well, in the wedding mainly).
I did, however like how it was old fashion-y for Edward.
I thought the wedding would be somewehere more Bella/Edward. Even though this wouldn’t be possible, I thought maybe if the wedding was in their meadow, that would be just perfect. However, the reception was described beautifully.
I am Team Edward, however, I did like it when Jacob came to congradulate her…well I liked it until he became rude about the honeymoon.
I just wished Stephanie could have gone into detail on the actual ceremony and what part the Cullens played in the wedding.

I’m not sure, this is my opinion—hope it makes sense.

p.s. Kallie and Kassie, me and my sister, think you two are very funny and incredibly insightful. Keep up these amazing podcasts, which we love and look foward to listening to each week.
    :]

  8. Tiffany says:

i must say, i would love to hear more of the wedding…but all from Edwards pov…that would make my day.

  9. Lena says:

    Amazing, I loved it. πŸ™‚
    It was old-fashioned, all traditional.
But I didn’t like the part where Jacob came to congratulate her. But hey, in the end, after reading Breaking Dawn, my hate for Jake faded.
    Great. =]

  10. Kari says:

Overall, I loved it. But I don’t know, I wish that the whole Jacob thing could have maybe been solved before the wedding? I know that Stephanie Meyer had a reason for this, the whole Renesmee thing, but I wish that a) Jacob didn’t just COME back – that he had to be retrieved, or that he came back BEFORE the wedding and stirred up some trouble, you know? I wanted the first part of the book to be Edward vs. Jacob drama, then the wedding, then the second half be Volturi drama. It felt like Stephanie -or maybe just the fandom- hyped up this Edward vs. Jacob thing a LOT with New Moon and especially Eclipse, when it really just amounted to nothing. There was NO competition at all in Breaking Dawn! And that bothered me! And I wanted Bella and Edward’s wedding to be absolutely perfect, and I wanted Jacob there to be Bella’s best man, and I basically wanted everything with Jacob resolved before the wedding so that Bella could be completely happy when she got married! and then b) along the same lines, I really didn’t like how Jacob came during the reception and tried to start a fight with Edward. Because as I said before, I just really wanted Bella’s wedding day to be totally and completely happy. And I wanted Jacob to be part of that happiness, but instead he was detrimental to it, and I didn’t like that.

But I loved the parts where Edward and Bella are dancing, and when Bella sees herself in the mirror, and when Edward introduces Bella to Tanya as “my wife”! πŸ™‚

  11. Kari says:

okay i forgot to add my three absolutely favorite parts: when bella first sees edward walking down the aisle, when they say i do and kiss, and when bella says goodbye to charlie. yeah, i cried – i was so scared about what would happen to charlie once bella was turned! okay just add that onto my other post :]

  12. Lisa aka Twihard Mom says:

The wedding was okay….good not great. i had pretty much theorized that it would go on w/o any interruptions…i figured SM would be a little more creative than that. But to be honest, it actually is my least memorable part of the book. There are other things that stick out in my head way more than just “the wedding”.

*********SIDE NOTE: How crazy is it that Kallie got her wish?! Kallie said that she wanted Bella to experience sex before becoming a vampire and after….and it actually happened!!!! HA HA The whole time I was reading I kept picturing Kallie screaming in exitement!

    Love you ladies!

  13. Lisa aka Twihard Mom says:

sorry I mean Kassie…which one is the sister that always sing?! Hee hee hee

  14. Lauren says:

I loved the wedding because it wasn’t at all what I expected. I thought the Volturi would come then, or that the werewolves would do something huge. I loved that wedding had lots of Alice charm, and that Carlisle was Edward’s best man. I really liked that moment when Bella saw her reflection. For once, she wasn’t thinking about how beautiful the other vampires were or how plain she was, she truly felt beautiful. I think that realization told that me Bella wasn’t the same girl in Twilight, she grew up.

  15. Brooke says:

I want Stephenie Meyer to write the wedding from Edward’s POV, especially because he was the one who really wanted to get married. I would love to see what was going on his head.

  16. Sarah says:

I really liked the wedding. I did think it was a little rushed, but then again that wasn’t the whole point of the book. It was just the start. Well, for me. It was like Bella moving to Forks in Twilight. Or Edward leaving in New Moon, but that was more of a focus, maybe the birthday party would be a better comparison? It helped start the book but that wasn’t entirely the focus. I hope I’m making sense. Of course, I haven’t finished the book. I just started book three last night, so I could be wrong.

I loved when Bella was getting ready for the wedding. It just made sense that Bella was nervous and wasn’t entirely excited about getting ready and dressed for the wedding. I REALLY loved the part where Edward removed the garter. The dances were sweet. I really would have like to here more about Emmett’s and Bella’s dance. That would have been really funny to see. To me Breaking Dawn was one big surprise. I think that Stephenie Meyer has an amazing imagination. I wish the books were real…

  17. Nessie says:

I liked it that Jacob came…but when Bella showed so much love towards him, I think it was a bit rude. I mean, she just got MARRIED, for pete’s sake! When people hold a grudge against Jacob for loving her, I think they should hold it against HER…she’s the one loving. Anyways, that is my opinion.

  18. Alex says:

The wedding was wayyyy to perfect. I think that something bad should of happened or someone that wasn’t invited show up out of nowhere. I wanted some action!

  19. sarah says:

i think that the wedding scene was pretty, i knew it would be because alice was doing it, the only thing that i think stephanie could have done to make it better was giving more explanation of edward and bellas vows to eachother, all we got were i dos.

and im sure everyone excpected for jacob to come, i think that was interesting, to tell you the truth i thought that he was going to stop the wedding while they were getting married. but i felt bad for him.

  20. Kim Kelley says:

Edward shooting the garter in Mike’s face. Funniest part ever! So very human of Edward. πŸ˜‰

  21. tricia says:

I loved the reception and the idea of the wedding-don’t get me wrong I still balled like a baby but I didn’t like the lack of detail in the ceremony. Bella’s thoughts when she sees Edward at the end of the aisle.I’ve been waiting for this and I wanted to hear especially Edwards vows and commentary when their exchanging rings. the whole thing just felt to rushed. I loved when Jacob showed up

  22. Callie Cullen says:

    I absolutley loved the wedding!

The present her parents got her was really sweet and I could pracically smell Alice’s decorations. The ceremony was great and it was so sweet, it made me tear up in the middle of a random cafe near my Aunt’s house.

I also liked the reception a lot and how Bella finally decided she liked dancing with Edward. It was cool how Seth showed up and gave Edward a hug. I laughed outloud when Emmett told Edward he was hogginthe bride.

When Jacob showed up, I didn’t expect any trouble but it seemed inevitable after the fact when Bella got defensive and he almost blew up. Literaly.

  23. Hilda says:

I thought the wedding was perfect! It was one of my favorite parts of the story ~ I was relieved that it actually happened without any extra drama! Stephenie’s description of the flowers and lights made me feel like I was actually there (I wish!!!)

Seriously though, I thought it was a great opener for the story. I was happy that some of the La Push gang was able to attend and even though Jabob went a little nuts at the end ~ it was still nice for Bella to have him there (until he ruined the moment ~ typical Jacob!)

Overall the best part of the wedding was during their vows, I think I was just as teary eyed as Bella was. I know I would be running down the aisle too if Edward was standing at the alter waiting for me.

  24. Erica says:

I think the wedding went smooth and Bella and Edward had the wedding that they deserved, meaning without any real distractions or disruptions. It was great that some of the La Push pack attended without too much of a problem. Overall, it was great and it happened the way it should have. πŸ™‚

  25. Hayley says:

I absolutely loved the wedding. It was beautiful and romantic and everything that it should have been. I loved when Bella looked and realized how beautiful she was. I also liked how Bella started to enjoy herself and came to like the idea of being married. Being a Jacob fan, I actually cried when he came to see her. He was so polite to her and had such great manners (until she mentioned the honeymoon, but I’m ignoring that lol) and it was, (or would have been) the perfect addition to the perfect night. I knew that he wouldn’t let her down, and I also knew that he wouldn’t ruin her wedding if he could help it because he loved her so much. It was also nice to have all her other friends and family beside her for one last time.

  26. Katie says:

I love the wedding! I’m glad that Bella finally came around to the idea of gettin married and that she actually showed some affection to edward in public, I sarted laughing at that part. I thought the way they describe the decorations and all the work Alice put into it was awsome, I hope my wedding will look just as beautiful someday. I was glad that Jake made it to the wedding even if he did freak out, but it wouldn’t be a jacob and bella moment with out that happening. I wish I could picture the dress in my mind better. I want stephanie to put a picture up on her website as to the way she imagined the dress to look like. Overall I loved the wedding it was perfect!!!

  27. Lauryn says:

    MINI SPOILER ALERT!!

(just a precaution in case someone hasnt finished)
yes, i loved it. i was tottaly shocked when jake showed up though. i was in my living room reading with my two friends and i was ahead of them and i start freaking out. that happened with the whole renesmee thing too… the whole book was amazing though!

  28. Stacey M. says:

The wedding seemed way to rushed and there wasn’t enough detail. SM writes so beautifully and is the best descriptive writer out there. Not that I didn’t like the wedding….I did….but I wanted to read so much more and I wanted to have Angela, Jessica, Lauren, Tyler, Ben, Eric, and Mike have conversations and Edward would snicker and laugh at what they were thinking…

But I knew Jacob would crash the wedding…it was cool. But I felt it could have been longer……

  29. Katy says:

I really loved the wedding. I had hoped that Jacob would show up in a quiet way. In a way that was personal for Bella. In my opinion their relationship has always been about a quiet personal intemacy that wells up until its uncontrollable. So I thought his apperance summed that up perfectly.

As far as the actual wedding I loved the way Stephenine explained it. In an interview with EW she said that art imitates life, and the wedding is not the end of your life. In fact it’s a very big beginning. I knew Edward and Bella would be together so why prolong the inevitable.

I love Stephenie because she takes risks. Wether or not she’s aware of the risks she takes I don’t know, but she takes them. It makes her interesting and memorable to say the least.

P.S. I totally hated the first half of the book the first time a read it (even as a giant Jacob -though not team Jacob- fan girl), but I trusted Stephenine enough to not take me somewhere I didn’t want to be. I’m on my second read and I like it much better.

  30. Ginny says:

Perfect. I wanted a perfect wedding and thankfully it happened. It’s the kind of wedding I dream about having someday. My only regret is that it wasn’t in a church. I really hoped it would be, for no reason really just because I can imagine Edward next to an old cathedral-type church very easily.
Then there was Jacob. Generally, I don’t mind Jacob and feel very bad for him. He’s not really the bad guy, he’s just not Edward. I was hoping that he’d send a note or something and didn’t mind that he showed up because he was behaving. Then he had to practically explode about Edward and Bella’s honeymoon plans and he needed to leave. If only he hadn’t pried, then it would have been super-perfect. I guess normal perfect is okay too. :]

  31. Lion&Lamb says:

UGH, perfect wedding and all, but honestly the honeymoon was traumatizing for me. With the whole ‘MIDNIGHT SWIM’ thing, i was imagining Robert Pattinson, and I’m not much of a fan of Robert. Other than that, i absolutely LOVED the book !

  32. Jasmine says:

THE WEDDING WENT BY PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! (EXCEPT JAKE ALMOST MESSED IT UP)

  33. Jess says:

THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU SM for not interrupting the wedding!

I was holding my breath through the entire wedding scene hoping that no-one (i.e., Volturi or Victoria (oh wait…)) was going to interrupt it. I am SO glad SM didn’t interrupt it, because both Edward and Bella deserved the happiness.

And I want my wedding to be exactly like that someday.

Except that I agree with Lion&Lamb completely. I do NOT like Robert Pattinson. Yuck.

  34. larissa says:

i thought the wedding could have been gone into detail more
i was a little disappointed to see that Stephanie Meyer didn’t put as many details in that chapter
examples: i would have loved to have read SOMETHING about the dress, besides the fact(s) that it was white, and looked old-fashioned
what she did publish was beautiful and i am so happy they got married.
