i personally find it absolutely adorable!!!!!
    XD hehe.
i really don’t like jacob. in meaning it took me over 2 months to read breaking dawn as i just got so angry at him whenever i read it. XD
but then. the whole bella’s pregnant thing happened & the very first thing i thought was “i bet it’s actually a girl & jacob imprints that *insert many profanities here*”
but then the time came & well… XD i find it absolutely adorable as said in very first line. XD
it’s just so obvious how much he really cares for the little darling. XD (not to mention it got him away from bella hehe)
i was kinda happy that my theory was right as well at the time. XP but that passed. XD hehe
& when did i figure it out?? hmm…. well there was my theory. but i didn’t figure out for certain until the whole “heat change” “felt the pull unlike an alpha pull” stuff. XD like most. XD at that point many more profanities were heard from my house. XD

&& this isn’t really answering the question. but to do with the whole people saying it’s wrong because she doesn’t have a choice & all that stuff. soooooo many people have been saying it. & i don’t get it. she does have a choice. does it really seem like she doesn’t love him back?? plus after the whole initial “gyah! get away from my baby!” bella seemed rather pleased that there was someone always there to look after nessie apart from her & also that jacob was happy. so i thought it was very nice indeed. XD

plus may i say you guys are hilarious. XD in some ways you remind me of my friends. XD hehe. XD almost every conversation we have ends up coming back to twilight. XP hehe. XD keep it up. XD

Hi, I’m Sirley, 21, from Estonia,
first of all your podcast rocks!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
I realised that Jacob had imprinted when it was described in the book. I had no doubt in my mind that it had happened because Stephenie Meyer went into great lengths to describe Jacobs feelings.
I didnt mind the imprint part, mostly because Stephenie had explained how its not a creepy thing. For example with Quill and Claire, she was his centre pof the universe, he would take care of her until she’s all grown up and then other things would come about ๐Ÿ™‚

However I was a bit hesitant on the fact that Renesme would b physically fully grown when she’s all but seven years old. I truly hope that Stephenie wasn’t alluding that something romantic would happen between her and Jacob, coz that would b simply weird.

    Love ya’ll ๐Ÿ˜€

And a warm hello from Estonia ๐Ÿ˜›

I knew on the last page of the Book of Jacob that Jacob had imprinted on Renesmee, but I didn’t want to believe it. When I read it, I was going, NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!! And at first I really hated it, especially when Jacob’s being all protective of Renesmee when Bella meets Renesmee for the first time – I really felt like he had no right at ALL and it REALLY creeped me out that he freakin MADE OUT with her MOM!!!!!! But over time I got used to it and even started to like it. And as the story went on, I understood why Stephenie wrote it like that, so that Renesmee could escape with Jacob if she had too. And personally I was just glad that Jacob was around at ALL, and that he was happy, because that was the biggest issue I had going into Breaking Dawn – I wanted Bella with Edward, but I still loved Jacob and I wanted him to be happy!!!! And he really wouldn’t have been happy unless he had imprinted because his love for Bella was too strong, like Leah told him. Although I WOULD have liked to see him & Leah get together!!!! But I think Jacob imprinting on Renesmee was really important to the plot.

  4. Hannah says:

To start of with, I was really creeped out by the idea of Jacob imprinting on Renesmee. I mean, a werewolf and a half vampire half, human child? I thought Stephenie Meyer was crazy! But after a while I thought, hmmm, this could actually work. Jacob is still a part of Bellas’ life, but isn’t there to steal her away from Edward anymore, and I liked that part. I’m Team Edward, so anything to do with Jacob and Bella being together, I was instantly like ‘NOOOOOOO! She belongs with Edward! Damn Jacob to hell!’ But since he imprinted on Renesmee, I’m happy. Renesmee will have the best and most loving family in the world. I’m actually a bit jealous of her. And for figuring out when Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, I thought that something was funny when Bella was pregnant. I thought, why is she so happy to see Jake? She’s married to Edward, doesn’t she know that she is causing both of them pain? But then I thought, hang on, what if it’s the baby that likes Jacob? I was glad that my suspicions were confirmed.

Keep at it with the podcasts guys! I’m a new listener but I’m addicted already! And by the way, the British bloopers cracked me up! I’m English, so I can do that accent. I can’t do American accents though. Love ya loads!

  5. Danielle says:

I had a feeling something was going on during the pregnancy, but I could not put my finger on it… Then when Jacob went donwn stairs to kill her, I knew. The fact that he was so conccerned about Bella meeting her and Renesme’s safety confirmed it.
I find that I don’t really mind. I like how he is protective of her, and I find that I was getting sick of his fawning and heart break over Bella. She was meant to be with Edward, and he needed something to help him get over it!

  6. Kam says:

Personally I really wanted Jake and Leah to end up together, so I was a little put off when he imprinted on Renesmee. However I am glad that Jake finally got his happy ending, even though it’s going to be a bit weird when he tells Renesmee stories about the past and has to tell her that he loved her mother and tried to kill her. But I am guessing that the power of their connection will be so strong that Renesmee won’t care.

Haha! Kassie really? As soon as I read “Warm brown eyes, the color of milk chocolate…” I was think “Ooooohhh nooo!! He saw her eyes! He’s never seen her before, this is the first time he is seeing her!!!” But really the dead give away was when he said “The gravity of the earth no longer tied me to the place where I stood…” In Eclipse he tells Bella that imprinting is more like “gravity moves”…

Keep up the good work girls! Love the show.

P.S. Why don’t you guys like calling Jake?

  7. princesskatie says:

I like that Jacob imprintinted on Nessie. I love how Bella is furious with Jacob for it even though:
    1. he can’t control it. and she knows this
    2. in eclipse she wants him to find someone to imprint on (just not her daughter)
I like that it worked out and that they can be together forever. Aleast Bella and Edward can trust that their daughter will ALWAYS be safe. Did anyone else kinda freak out when the half-vampire-half-boy said he was venomous. What if Nessie had been venomous?! Then when she bit Jacob he would have died! I wonder if anyone had thought about this danger, or if they didn’t care enough to try to protect Jacob.

Usually I catch on to stuff a little quicker, but honestly, I didn’t realize he imprinted until about when he did. Like When he’s about to pounce and then he stops. When I figured it out I put down my book, screamed, giggled a little, and said “ooh, stephenie’s good!”

I think it’s really funny that Bella’s the last to know. It takes her a REALLY long time to figure it out. And her reaction when she does find out was priceless =]

  8. jerelS says:

i like it it makes the story more interesting. i figured it out when jacob saw her face.

  9. Keshia says:

When I read the passage in the book, I knew exactly what SM was describing. I believe it was in Eclipse, when Jacob tells Bella about imprinting and describes it as the person you imprint on is the only thing that holds you to the earth. So, when she described the cables being snipped away and the new cables replacing them – I understood exactly what she was telling us. My inital reaction was, WTF?
I have always been Team Edward but discovered a new appreciation for Jacob after reading the book from his point of view. I really truly wanted him to be happy. And although we saw the relationship between Quil and Claire, I still found it odd that this guy imprinted on a newborn. Immediately, I felt that SM had jumped the shark and was a bit disgusted. Knowing that eventually this relationship will become romantic. Without being too graphic it immediately made me think of young girls who may have been taken advantage of and betrayed by their father, uncle, or other male figure that they trusted to keep them safe.
However, after reading the remainder of the book and seeing how Jacob and Nessie interacted, I warmed up to it. But honestly, I truly dont know if I ever got used to the odd situation or if I simply gave in because I wanted to love the book so much. I think it’s best that SM leave the Jassie story here – it could be a dangerous story to write, taking Jacob from loving caretaker to Nessie to romantic partner without making it seem creepy.

When Bella thought that she and Edward were going to die, she knew that the one person who could keep Nessie safe was Jacob.

  10. Laura says:

I didn”t figure out that Jacob had imprinted until he was standing in the way of Bella going in the house to see Renesmee. When I read the end of the Book of Jacob I thought that he was reacting to the little part vampire like Carlisle had described to Bella about the immortal children. You couldn’t NOT protect them and that is why he didn’t attack. When I re-read the section again it didn’t seem familiar, I guess I was reading to fast, but it was really obvious. I was shocked that I did not figure it out. I am usually quite perceptive!

  11. Jacquelynn says:

I was kinda mad at first, i mean she was just a baby and Bella just had her.
Then Jacob comes and imprintes on her i thought it was kinda rude, but then I thought about it and thought it was cute.
He really loves her and she loves him back. They are great for eachother, and I wouldnt change anything about it.
I could understand why Bella was upset, 1st of they wouldnt even let her be alone with her new daughter, and Jacob could be with her any time he wanted without people watching his every move. In the end everything turns out alright though.
    I love it actually <3

    – go Team Edward, but in a way im in between with Team Jacob and Edward.

  12. The REAL Mrs. Edward Cullen says:

I believe that if you really understand what imprinting is, the connection between Jacob and Renesmee is totally fine. Everyone keeps going on about pedophilia and how weird it is, but both Jacob in the book and Stephenie Meyer to her readers have said that that is NOT what imprinting is about. Jacob loves Renesmee immediately. Renesmee is still a child, no matter her intellectual level. Jacob can love her without being IN LOVE with her. Right now, he simply loves her as a brother or a father. When the time comes, and if it is what Renesmee desires, he will become her ‘mate’, and they will have a romantic relationship. At the moment, that is NOT what the relationship is. So, all in all, I am pretty happy with the imprinting. Jacob can still be in Bella’s life. I figured out that Jacob was going to imprint when Bella found out she was pregnant. I knew that it wouldn’t be the boy she imagined, rather, it would be a girl whom Jacob could conveniently imprint upon, because that is the plot device SM needed to make everything fit together. I was confirmed in my suspicions when Edward went “Renesmee” after she was born… or extricated from Bella…whatever you wish. I think that if you can really understand the imprinting that its not creepy. Unusual, yes. But I think that was a perfect match… Jake and Nessie. Bella and Edward have peace now, no third parties in their relationship. And their daughter will always be *oh-so-conviently* taken care of by Bella’s best friend and Edwards…brother/son once romantic rival….LOL

    xoxo, I love it.

  13. Alissa D. says:

I realized that Jacob imprinted on Nessie when he was describing the steel cables that was holding him to her big brown eyes. When I read that I was stuck, but then I finally understood it.

Now my feelings for Jacob for imprinting on Renesmee. Hmm what can I say? I had very mixed emotions about that. I was mad because I thought Leah and Jacob were going to be together, since they both didnt have anyone. And when Jacob imprinited, the first thing I thought was “What about Leah?” I really don’t think Leah will imprint and I dont think she will have a boyfriend since he might be really weireded out if he finds out that she is a wolf. I thought Jacob was perfect for her, since they both loved and lost. Leah has never been my favorite character, but I dont think it was right for her to still be alone. If anything I would guess that she would feel more alone. SInce Jacob imprinted and her mom and Charlie are getting together, she is even more surrounded by couples. And jacob was the only one who knew how she felt, but not no more. I think that just might be to much too handle for a girl in Leahs situation.

I am happy because Jacob finally loses his annoying immature feelings for Bella, and also becomes part of her family, which I guess he was also meant to be. Edward also should be happy since he doesn’t have competition anymore.

Thats all I can really think about on the pros. So I guess the Cons out weigh the Pros.

  14. JennaLee says:

I knew that Jacob had imprinted on the last page of his book when he said that something was drawing him to her. I honestly couldn’t get over how creepy it was. I was really already disliking where the story was going at this point that when this happened I was like, ok where’s the punchline? Are you kidding me? Seriously? Wow. Lame. That was my reaction then I started laughing because I thought that this story couldn’t get any more ridiculous and I was obviously wrong. Once I reread the book I started to see things differently and semi-understand. (Mainly I just had to accept that this was the story and I couln’t do anything about it whether I liked it or not.) Then I saw how it was kind of cute how Jacob was toward Renesmee, but still creepy in the back of my mind. I was with Edward on this one. I also realized that this was the reason that Stephenie had Quil imprint on Claire. She was preparing us for Jacob and Renesmee and trying to explain how it worked and dial down the creepy so we would not completely freak when Jacob imprinted on an infant. Good plan on Stephenie’s part because if I wasn’t already aware that they could imprint on babies I think we all might have been totally grossed out. However, after all of that, there is still a significant creepy factor in the whole situation.

  15. Charlotte B. says:

I love the fact that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee. I always felt sorry for Jake as everyone around him had a significant other while he was all alone. I also found the eventual explanation of why Jake loved Bella extremely fascinating as it turned out that they had to be in each other’s lives, but not as lovers, as mother and son – in law. However, i did find Jake and Nessie’s relationship slighty annoying as Bella hadn’t even had time to bond with her daughter yet and already he had a claim on a piece of her. Overall, i find there relationship intriguing and i am desperate to find out more about it.

I had a small incling that Jacob was going to imprint on Bella’s baby early on in his book although didnt really think it was going to happen until he started to walk down the stairs and Rosalie was feeding Renesmee. From that point i knew that he was going to imprint and was proved right when Stephenie described it.

Keep up the ggod work on your podcasts! I love them and eagerly await them every week.

  16. Kaz says:

Hey girls, I realised that he imprinted really just at the end of Jake’s book. When he was staring at her and just felt the pull. I didn’t really see Bella’s constant need to be around Jake to be foreshadowing the imprinting, whatevs.

I didn’t see their imprinting as paedophilic or anything. It did surprise me that he imprinted on her. But now that I think back on it. Quil imprinting on Claire showed the possibility and when Jake was with them it was Stephenieโ€™s way of foreshadowing I guess.

I was really off the idea of Jacob imprinting on her at first. It seemedโ€ฆ wrong. I hated how he was trying to keep Renessme from Bella. I understand him for being protective of his imprintee but I still hated him for that. Not that I was a Jacob fan before, but I detested that when Jake imprinted, everything he felt for Bella was written off. She was almost unimportant to him, just a vessel that brought the love of his life onto this earth. Urgh! However, Iโ€™m glad that he imprinted because it softened me up that he was over Bella and I wonโ€™t have to worry about him getting in between Bella and Edward no more.

And Nessie, I didnโ€™t like her for hurting Bella. I kind of wished she never was at one point. As the book progressed though, I got to know her (a little). She was cute, loved by everyone and loved everyone. I warmed up to her. But her existence still seems rushed and too artificial. And so, even though I like her now, if I think about her too much she still makes me cringe. Bella having a baby seems all very fanfictiony.

I think they are both characters that I started off hating and have grown accustom to. I feel okay about them now. I do want to read more of their future but I donโ€™t think they would ever be as close to my heart as Bella and Edward are.

  17. Mommytrish says:

    Hi Ladies,
I had a feeling as soon as she was pregnant but I kept telling myself it would be a bit creepy and it couldn’t possibly be written in the story….but it was always in the back of my mind….Then, at the end of Jacob’s story when he was determined to “kill” the monster..(which is what they all thought it was at first) and he was walking out but saw “bell’as brown eyes……” It was like a lightning bolt hit me…..AH!!!!! And after the inital shock…I really thought it was perfect…….It just made all the sense to me… and it resolves so many lingering storylines. I also appreciate how SM made sure to clarify to the readers, on more than one occasion, that it’s not “pedophilic” (sp??) in any way, shape or form. It’s an unbreakable bond that grows, matures and adjusts over the course of their lives….
    Love your shows!! Trish

  18. Little Lauren says:

Cassie is a goof ball. But I mean that in the nicest way possible.

    Anyways…
Once I finished reading that chapter, I knew what had happened. *Ahem* However, I did not see it coming. And I was shocked and apalled, calling every one of my friends to discuss the matter. Unfortunately none of them had read that far and I ended up venting my rage to my little sister.”So there’s this thing called imprinting….. and Jacob imprinted on BELLA’S DAUGHTER! Weird right!?”

But when I thought about it some more and as I continued reading, I realized that this is the perfect solution to all their problems! From the beginning of the series, Bella and Jacob have had this connection they didn’t know what to do with. Now we realize it was because Jacob’s destiny was to imprint on Nessie. Bella has always loved Jacob more like family than a boyfriend and she even said herself that she felt they were supposed to be together some way… but romance got in the way. Now Jacob will be connected to Bella, sans drama.

Plus, Nessie and Jacob are a perfect fit and always will be. My only hope is that Mrs. Meyers will actually write stories about this new couple. How cool would it be to read from Nessie’s point of view or even Jacob’s again? Think of all the adventures they’ll have. And once she reaches the right age, we can read about that romance we all know and love. Also, through their stories we can check in on the Cullens from time to time since they will inevitably be conncected to Jassie.

  19. Summer says:

    Hey guys! ๐Ÿ™‚

I personally felt a little weird about the whole Jacob imprinting on Renesmee. As if everything else wasn’t crazy enough! But after a while I realized that the reason why Jacob fell in love with Bella was because he was going to imprint on Renesmee, and be a big part of their lives. I find it sweet how much he cares for her, and I think it’s imprinting at it’s finest.

Though I do find it funny how much he hated her, and called her the “evil spawn” etc., yet loves her so much now.

I also personally didn’t figure out that he imprinted, I was kinda like “Whuuuut?” at the end of the chapter. I thought he was maybe talking about her being so beautiful or something, but it was written beautifully, even if the point wasn’t very well crossed to me. I think Stephenie could have written it in a little bit more clearer light, but with myself not knowing he had imprinted, I was even more on the edge in the next chapter.

So Kassie, I feel ya! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  20. pichu98lol says:

I kinda imagined something along those lines. I mean, jacob isn’t supposed to age and I thought bella would leave edward to some place like on Fanfiction.net, and that 13 years later, jacob who was living in wolf form one day sees her daughter. I never imagined that it would really happen.

  21. Briannah says:

After Bella made her decision to choose Edward, Jacob was kindof a loose end. When he went to see her (while she was very pregnant) he obviously still loved her. The fact that she was know married and expecting a child with Edward kindof left Jacob ‘out’. Stephenie Meyer couldn’t just write ‘And Edward and Bella got married, and Jacob went off into the sunset to live his own life!’!!! NOOOO!! She had to put Jacob in somewhere. When he imprinted on her, it brought him into the ‘family’. it tied his loose end. I didn;t think it was ‘creepy’ because imprinting is just true love. That doesn’t mean that the love is in the ‘I wanna make out with you’ sorta way, it might just be that you TRUEly LOVE the person, maybe as a brother, or a protector, or a best friend. When Quil imprinted on Claire, I know that got a lot of negativity, but the first thing I thought of was ‘Oh my gosh! That’s so cute!!!!!’ I didn’t think ‘ew. pedophile’ ’cause the love isnt NESSASSARILY in that direction. If one day Nessie decides that she loves Jake in the ‘i wanna make out with you’ sorta way, then fine. Maybe Jake will love her that way too. If she only ever loves him as a big brother or a best friend, I’m sure Jacob wouldn’t be disappointed. He just wants to MAKE HER HAPPY!!
BTW, yes I did know that he imprinted. it was kinda obvious, to me at least.

  22. emi says:

i think its cute… but kinda weird, cause its bella and edwards daughter… but its good that hes over bella finally… i support edward… im so happy with the ending of the book, i wish there was more

  23. Hilda says:

I was surprised by the whole Bella baby thing to begin with and I really thought Jacob would end up with Leah or someone else. The introduction of Renesmee and Jacob imprinting on her really threw me for a loop. I did not see that one coming, I guess I missed all the clues if there were any.

I did have to read the last page of Jacob’s book at least twice to figure out that Jacob had actually imprinted on Renesmee. And when I was finished, I was a little shocked! I mean first Jacob is madly in love with Bella (the mother) and now all of those feelings have switched to her daughter!!! Like I said, I did not see that one coming!!!

p.s. You guys did a great job with this week’s podcast! I loved listening to the three of you discuss Jacob’s book while I did all of my housework ~ the extra long length helped me get more of my work finished! Keep up the good work!!

  24. grace says:

i was disgised at first.but now i love it. i did not know for a long time that he did till later

  25. Violet says:

To be honest, I wasn’t a Jacob hater until half way into Eclipse. In fact I actually liked the guy. But I heard you guys debating about Jacob’s behavior and I realized that he simply does not love Bella as much as he thinks he does. When it comes to Bella, he puts his own wants first usually, even if it isn’t obvious. I really wished that he could gain some self control or brains, either would be fine. He can’t love Bella the same way Edward does simply because Edward wants Bella to be happy, and Jacob wants Jacob to be happy with Bella hopefully happy in his future. The incredible level of selflessness practically defines Edward. I was so excited to see Jacob get smart or get booted in this novel. But unfortunately, neither happened. He continued to pine after Bella, just toning it down a little after the marriage. And he can’t be out of her life because he imprinted on Renesme. Bella deserves better than to have him around. Hopefully the imprint will make him grow up a little. Oh yeah and the second part- since I read that particular passage at three in the morning, I didn’t realize what happened do to my delerious state. I figured it out about four paragraphs before Jacob said he imprinted. So I didn’t get it, but I have an excuse. Does that count? By the way I love your show- It makes me laugh so much. You guys are great. Much love, Violet

  26. Anne says:

I love it! I always knew that there was a reason for Jacob and Bella’s relationship other than romance. I first figured out on page 196 it says that he had a magnetic pull to her stomach and i was like “AH HA!”

  27. Anne says:

WHOA, i meant 296… sorry! i’m not psychic!

  28. Kate K says:

To start off I am a huge fan of the podcast. Like Kassie, I am a die hard Edward fan, but The Book of Jacob really made me appreciate Jacob as a character. I really started to like him and his sense of humor. I read Chapter 18 in what felt like two seconds. To be honest, I really thought the whole pregnancy thing was very unrealistic. But I cant say anything since this book is about vampires and werewolves. duh! When I got to the end, I was so happy Bella was changed. Edward and Bella could finally be together forever. But when I read that Jacob imprinted on Renesme I slammed my book shut. I was somewhat relieved that Jacob would stop freaking out over Bella. It was about time and I was tired of him trying. I also couldnt stop thinking that she was the rebound girl(baby i guess). I mean, because Bella is now a vampire(Jacob couldnt be with her) he settles for the next best thing, Bella Jr. I personally think that he imprinted on Renesme, because she reminded him of Bella. Later on I got used to their relationship, but I still think Jacob will always see Bella when he looks into Renesmes eyes. If Stephenie ends up writing a book about Jassie, I will be a bit hesitant to read it. Thank you guys so much for your podcast! I love them and you always have me laughing.

Oh btw, after I read the end of Chapter 18, I reread the final paragraph and realized Jacob imprinted. So don’t fell bad Kassie.

  29. Becky says:

Omg I loved that Jacob imprinted. Now he’ll stop pestering Bella and Edward. I’m sorry for you Team Jacob fans that wish it was you. I am Team Switzerland so I win each way. Keep up the good work guys!

  30. Becky says:

    I also love Bella’s recation!

  31. Chelsey H says:

I thought the idea of Jacob imprinting on Nessie was a great thing. Jacob wouldnt be complaining about Bella and Edward anymore and he would finally have somone in his life to share his life with. On one side of the imprinting ordeal, if he was feeling love for her as more than just family love and he wanted her as a lifelong companion, then she would age faster than humans. but i do find that to be creepy . On the other hand if Jacob imprinted on Nessie in the way of protecting her and careing for her like say as a brother, then he would be happy in that he wont always have to look to Bella to be his best friend……Knowing that he will always love Bella. It wont be such a burden to him anymore now that he has Nessie.

  32. Chelsey H says:

I knew that Jacob would imprint in this book from the time that it talked about him going to the park and seeing all of those girls. But i figured out that he had imprinted on Nessie after a couple of times that he would go to the cullens and see Bella.
And i knew that Stephenie would put some sort of twist in the book that would make everyone gasp. The last chapter of the Jacob book did tell me for sure that he had imprinted on Nessie.

  33. Laura says:

I was really shocked first. I kinda just stared at the book and hung my mouth open and repeated “Oh my god, oh my god.” I wanted Jacob to imprint, but not on Bella’s daughter. I was incredibly surprised. I hadn’t liked Jacob ever, I really started hating him in Eclipse, but now that I’ve read his POV, he seems alright. ๐Ÿ˜€ I thought he and Leah would’ve become something, but of course he wouldn’t have imprinted on her, because he had seen her before. I first understood that Jacob had imprinted when it said in the book “The gravity of the earth no longer tied me to the place where I stood.” I remembered when Jacob had explained imprinting to Bella (in Eclipse, was it?) and he used the exact same phrase. Yeah, I was pretty shocked.

  34. Haley says:

I think its cute, but not creepy. Becuase Jacob isn’t in love with Renesmee but he does love her. Its like what he said about Quil and Claire. She will be the best protected kid with the best older brother.

  35. Haley says:

and i didn’t really figure out he imprinted until he told Bella.

  36. pichu98lol says:

I love making Fanfictions for my mind only and the whole Jassie thing was very similar, But I imagined jacob still running from the fact bella was marrying edward, and meets bella’s teenage daughter while she’s hiking. I kinda hoped that would happen when I found out bella was pregnant…

  37. Melissa says:

I did not realize that Jacob had imprinted on Renesmee until Bella Book 2 when Edward told Bella that Jacob was fine although he’d be more than happy to change that fact. I then made the connection to Jacob’s imprinting and BUSTED OUT LAUGHING — I thought it was HYSTERICAL! I had to go back and re-read the last page of Jacob’s section to see how I had missed it. I had originally taken that part as Jacob falling in love with the baby because she was Bella’s — but just the same way that a new uncle meets his niece and suddenly the sun rises and sets in that child — but not imprinting .

Frankly, I was relieved by the imprinting, because then Jacob could move on from Bella and no longer cause her the conflict that I sensed she’d always felt regarding her relationship with him. I always resented his involvement in a way. I could only imagine how awful it must have made Edward feel to see the love of his life so attached to another man, and I never understood Bella’s attraction to Jacob. If the roles had been reversed, Bella would not have handled it so gracefully. Stephenie Meyer said in an interview that she was surprised that Bella’s relationship with Jacob developed as far as it had — and I wish it hadn’t — it was the only drawback to “Eclipse” in my opinion.

So I was glad Jacob’s relationship with Bella was dealt with as definitively as it was with the imprinting.

  38. Mrs. Ariana Edward Cullen says:

I was 3/4 Team Edward, and 1/4 Team Switzerland so I wanted Bella to be with Edward, but I didnt want Jacob to suffer so I really like that Jacob imprinted on Nessie. I am sooooo glad that he doesn’t have to have pain over Bella and Bella have pain over him. Now they can live happy lives with the people that they love. I felt soooo sorry for Jacob when he felt out of place because he wasn’t imprinting like the rest of his pack. Now he has Nessie to make him happy. And one of my favorite parts of the imprinting is that now it brings Jacob and the Cullens together! I was surprised and happy when Jacob and Edward actually call themselves brothers and that they are actually friends. I never thought that would happen, but now Jacob is friends with the Cullens! At the end of the Book of Jacob when he imprinted on Nessie, I didn’t really think he was imprinting on her. I finally realized that Jacob imprinted on Nessie when he was being very protective of her and questioning Edward if it was safe for Bella to see Nessie for the first time. But one thing I thought was hilarious is when Seth said that Nessie bites Jacob all the time, and then when Charlie was coming over to visit Edward told Nessie not to bite Charlie and Nessie asked if she could still bite Jacob and Edward was like ‘No i don’t care if you bite Jacob. That’s fine.’ I was rolling on the floor laughing. But i love the ending especially because Bella can love Edward and Jacob can be with someone he loves too.

    OME I am sooooo happy!!!!!

  39. Christa says:

I did not relize what he did till later i kept thinking that to imprint was going to be like a dog marking his terriorty so i was waiting for something else. I had to go back and re read the section becuase i did not understand it. I am really glad SM had quil imprint on a little kid first just so we knew that is was normal and not so odd… i was happy though cuze this ment he had a crush on Bella and she was not really the one or he would have imprinted… it seems like it is something he could not control!

  40. Mariah G. says:

i didn’t figure it out until Bella actually says it. The second time around, though, I got it on the last few pages of Jacob’s book.

I don’t like Jacob at all. Of course, he has to be in the books because we wouldn’t want to read them otherwise. When I found out, I was giddy with hoping Bella would just rip his head off. Then I was actually really mad. I think that Jacob will always have to be in the stories, but not ever in that way. I thought, at first, that Jacob was a complete jerk. Taking Renesmee away from Bella like that. Eventually I thought of Quil. I thought that it was pretty cool. He would be like a brother to Claire until it she was old enough to be told. I am already biased against Jacob because of… past events, but when I read more I realized that this really was the way things were supposed to be. Jacob still tied into the lives of Bedward (I think that I really funny-good), but in a way that I can more than except, but embrace.

P.S. I think your show is really great. You guys are hilarious.

  41. Laurie M. says:

I got it right away and so did about half of my twilight converts. However the other half didn’t catch it and weren’t tuned in until about the time that Bella was. I have to admitt that I was already a little put out that one Bella was PG and then Stephenie stepped over the line with Jacob imprinting. I was literally so upset. I had to put the book down and go run errands. I came back looking for redemption in book 3 and got most of it. After driving 9 hours to see Ms. Meyer in Chicago 2 days later and talking through it all with my fellow passengers and having time to digest it all, I totally got it. I have to admit this book has giving me more personal range of emotion than any book ever has and ITS ALL GOOD.

  42. Tuesday says:

I actually had to stop reading for a second and process it and i figured it out at the end of his part of the book.
I think it was really cute but a lil weird.
and i was mad when he was always with her and Bella couldn’t be.
But i like how they get to stay friends in the end and to him she will always be Bella.
I really hope SM does another book about Nessie and Jacob though ๐Ÿ˜›

  43. Tuesday says:

OHH and i think its weird that he imprinted on her because, aren’t they supposed to imprint on the girl that can they can mate with to make a strong wolf??

  44. Barbara says:

I commented previously on Jacob and whats-her-name but I failed to mention when I knew he had imprinted. I thought that it was clear that Jacob had imprinted at the end of his book, HOWEVER, I can see how someone might easily miss it with everything that was going on. On the other hand, even if “someone” did not catch that Jacob had imprinted, I don’t think that they should be upset if “someone else” told them. Stephenie obviously meant for the readers to know what was happening at that point. I think that she had mentioned (either in an interview or in one of the previous books) that imprinting was like gravity.

  45. Cheryl says:

I’m sorry Kassie, but I knew Jacob had imprinted when he went down stairs to kill Nessie. (Not a fan of her actual name or nickname and I prefer Jacob to Jake.) I was relieved actually to find that Jacob had imprinted on Renesmee. It made me gasp, loudly. My reading friend, who hadn’t gotten to that part yet, hit me and almost left. I just told her to hurry up. It finally made sense why Bella and Jacob always acted that way toward each other. In New Moon, I knew there was no going back to Bella and him just being friends so there had to be something else. I was worried that there would always be this conflict in the Bella love triangle. Jacob did deserve somebody, I almost hoped it was the girl in the park and he would run away with her and never come back to torture Bella or Edward with his thoughts. I’m also glad he didn’t end up with Leah. If ever there was someone who needed to be on the editing floor was her. Her carelessness in Eclipse and her angry thoughts all through Breaking Dawn.

I think I’ve vented enough. I love your show and have become a huge twilight fan even though I only started reading the series this June.

P.S. Also wondering why everyone has a nickname except for Edward. No, I would like to hear him referred to as Eddie or Ed, but just wondering.

  46. Cheryl says:

P.S. Also wondering why everyone has a nickname except for Edward. No, I would NOT like to hear him referred to as Eddie or Ed, but just wondering. (Had to clear up that typo.)

  47. Brenda says:

I think it is awsome that he imprinted on Renesme because Jacob and Bella were destined to be in each others lives. (Even if this is an unortodox way) I knew Jacob would imprint on Renesme when he said he no longer felt a pull to Bella but he felt a pull downstairs. The way he described the strings and the steel cables was how one of the other (not sure which one) wolves kind of described it. And Stephenie Meyer set up the possibility that Jacob’s imprint would be young in Eclipse with Quil and Claire.

  48. Shannon says:

I read page 360 and thought, “Oh my Lord! He just IMPRINTED! What the . . .?” So yes, I knew he had imprinted. BUT . . . I can see how, very easily, some people might not have gotten that. I was in shock! Total and utter SHOCK! I didn’t see it coming at all. After the initial shock wore off, I wasn’t quite sure how I felt. Then . . . as I thought about it . . . it made perfect sense. He was never supposed to fall in love with Bella (he was always meant for Renesme).

Bella says to Jacob on page 298 . . .”We got off track, Jake. Out of balance. You’re supposed to be part of my life – I can feel that, and so can you. But not like this. We did something wrong. No, I did something wrong, and we got off track.” Bella was never supposed to develop those feelings for Jacob in the first place, but Edward leaving in New Moon, threw their whole universe for a spin and she was able to develop feelings that she never would have had the chance to develop, and vice versa. It was always MEANT to be Jacob and Nessie. Things just got thrown out of wack for a little while. Does that make any sense to you guys? I believe thatโ€™s what Stephenie was trying to let the readers know with Bellaโ€™s statement.

I just also wanted to say that I SO look forward to your Podcasts! You ladies are SO funny and are just all around a treat to listen to! I’m a 23 year old housewife who LOVES Twilight . . .How do I sign up to join your podcasts, lol?! Seriously . .. GREAT SHOW! *****

  49. charisma-Rose says:

I knew that Bella was going to get pregnant, and that it wold be a girl and Jacob would imprint on her. That had been my biggest Breaking Dawn theory ever since I finshed the books back in October. So I knew it was coming, because that is how I would have written it. So when he started ranting about how he was going to go kill Renensme, I was like, “Yea, I can not wait for you to imprint on her, so then one day you and her will be talking and she’ll be like, “Oh yea mom told me you hated me while I was in the womb,” and Jacob will be like, “Oh I only wanted to kill you for a split second!”
I think that is going to be so funny, and I am completely neutral when it comes to choosing Edward or Jacob, because the way I see it, I am not Bella so why go through the trouble of making such a hard choice? So I was hurt that Jake was hurt and totally extatic when he imprinted!!

Jassie rocks!!!! (the nickname Nessie does not__ sorry Jake!!)

  50. Muna says:

Okay so personally I really didn’t like the whole Jacob imprinting on Renesme, I know that a lot of readers did but the fact that he imprinted on her just didn’t feel like it worked with the aesthetic of the other books. My reasons for not liking this is because it has to negatively affect the pack when one of their own imprints on a “bloodsucker”. I know I know Jacob isn’t really part of Sam’s pack anymore but they still have the same underlying mission to protect their Reservation from vampires regardless of whether that vampire is half or a full fledged vampire it has to complicate things. I also had expected Jacob to imprint on someone like Angela, or a cute girl from the Reservation that we hadn’t met. Another reason is that we don’t really get to see Bella’s jealousy when its her own daughter, I mean I wanted to see if Bella would be affected whenever Jacob ended up imprinting. I know this all sounds really negative, but to tell the truth Breaking Dawn was not my favorite novel in the series. It read a lot like a fan-fiction, and I’m not saying that’s bad but a lot of the events that occurred, like Jacob imprinting, contradicted itself. You are probably wondering why Jacob’s imprinting on Renesme seemed to contradict itself that is because how is he expected to grow older and the purpose of imprinting when it was described during the conversation that Leah and Jacob had is to get the greatest match to continue the werewolf or shape shifting in their bloodline. How does Renesme help this?

Well before I start to incur the wrath of other listeners I would like to say that I did catch on the imprinting the first time it was written at the end of Jacob’s book.

P.S. Despite my many issues with Breaking Dawn I loved Jacob’s book, his point of view made me want to continue to read regardless of the fact that the plot was not well thought out as I would have like to have read.
P.P.S I love your podcast its a really great way to see what others are thinking in the fandom and I hope you all keep on podcasting ๐Ÿ™‚
