Can the Twilight cast pull this off? This week Kassie, Linsey and I discuss the Twilight cast and their characters in the Twilight movie! We have a few exciting announcements, news, discussion and the usual… us making fun of each other! LOL! I need to apologize, Kassie hit the mute button to hide a yawn, and never turned it back on… I still got her audio, but it is not good! So please stick with us, I promise it is still entertaining this week! Our music is Abilene from Runaway Dorothy! They have given us CDs to give away to the winners of our Twilight Lyrics Contest!

I’m probably going to get “yelled” at for writing this (through furious typing from other twilighters) …but whatever: I’m entitled to my opinion. Here, I’m not complaining about the chosen actress for Bella, but the movie’s costuming of Bella.
From reading the available chapters of Midnight Sun, Bella’s attire was described; Bella was almost grungy-artistic in what she wore: baggy sweaters, and old jeans. Seeing Bella’s costuming in the movie stills and trailer, Bella portrayed by Stewart is a little too fashionable.
I am glad they are letting her wear cute clothes. There will be a lot of girls watching the movie and I think they would get more complaints if she is wearing grubbies all the time. Most high school kids care about their appearance.

Bella (according to the ‘Twilight’ that I read) didn’t care about the normal particulars associated with High School. She thought for herself; she was an individual, and that’s what attracted Edward to her in the first place. Now, in the movie, she’s dolled up like any other girl; a girl one expects to parade across the screen on the Disney channel or MTV.
Bella was different…and now she’s…prosaic. .
i think if the cast stays true to what stephenie meyer wrote about, such as how the characters act, then they can pull it off. But if they don’t stay true to their character and mess it up… then there will b some very upset people… and i don’t think it will b a good thing for the fans or the actors that could be ambushed or something crazy like that. Over all i think that they will pull it off because for the most part they look like i thought they would, and the makers of the movie, and stephenie meyer would let it get too weird (i hope)!

Hey, Ladies, I am not going to spoil anything for you, but Catherine Hardwicke was interviewed by MTV & she told them what Stephenie is doing in her cameo…So, if you really want to know what she’ll be doing, you can find out quite easily. Or you can email me & I’ll tell you. 🙂
Rob, who really went the extra mile to understand Edward (the journal, seclusion, Midnight Sun) and is able to look youthful, sophisticated, alluring and intense.. will make a great Edward! Kristen has Bella’s look, and she has the right amount of ‘apathy’ about the everyday.. I’d just like to see more intensity in her performance than what we get from the trailers..
As far as Jasper/Jackson goes.. The old promo shot, his hair was awful.. but the natural curly/wavy blonde hair looks great. I really liked Jackson when he played a small role on The OC.. His character then was so sweet.. I was impressed that his Jasper seems suitably broody 🙂 Cam was fantastic as ‘surf nazi’ Volchok on OC so I knew he’d make a great James.. I honestly think they tried to make him look grungy because he’s too attractive to be the plain James that Stephenie describes 😉 Kellan seems born to play Emmett! The male role that I’m most curious about is Peter Facinelli as Carlisle.. he looks fantastic, and I think he’s got enough heart to pull it off.. but when I read the books I had pictured a young Cary Elwes (Princess Bride).
Ashley Greene has such a dynamic look. Her (non-Twilight) headshots are so exotic & elegant, but the MTV interviews make it seem that she can pull off the pixie cute meddler.. which excites me because after Edward, Alice is my favorite 🙂 Elizabeth Reaser isn’t exactly what I had in mind phyically for Esme, who I saw as more petite and demure.. but I know from Grey’s that she can convey Esme’s heart and warmth and nurturing..
does anyone have any complaints about the cast? i mean…Edward is OKAY, just because i went over a bunch of diffrent actors who could have played him, and hes the only one that comes to mind. Bella is just ugly. Im sorry, i like the actress, but shes NOT bella! and it makes me sad. I imagine alice to be this petite little girl, that like dances all the time. WRONG!… Jaspers sexy, and they picked a good guy to play jacob, but shouldnt the MAIN characters be the MAIN focus? i mean, whenever i think of edward now, i think of harry potter!… =[ its just so unfortunate… -_-… IM GOING TO SEE IT ANYWAY! ^_^
