Robert Pattinson on his ‘Twilight’ songs: ‘Music is my backup plan if acting fails’

The L.A. Times has an interview with Rob discussing his music and how he discovered it would be used in the film.
“That’s what I was scared about, it looks like I’m trying to get a music career out of it or something,” he said. “I’ve never really recorded anything — I just played in pubs and stuff –- and I really didn’t want it to look like I was trying to cash in. I hope it doesn’t come across as that. I’m not going to be doing any music videos or anything. Music is my backup plan if acting fails. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket.”
He-he, I don’t think your acting is gonna fail buddy. I wonder if he know how popular he is, especially with the ladies XD. No, as long as he has fan girls he WILL have an acting carreer.
Well, Rob has a good voice, though it is (extremely) unpolished, which is why like it. He hasn’t booked any acting gigs after twilight, so maybe he will do the music thing. We’ll just have to see.
Rob’s voice is reminiscent of a young Robert Plant ….listen to “When the Levee Breaks” by Led Zeppelin…My advice to those who think Rob’s voice isn’t what it should be? Get over your NSync fixation and open your mind up to real talent.

I seriously don’t think his career is going to go BOOM any time soon…and my friend would probably hunt him down if it did XD! So a hint of warning towards Robert…DON’T! XD!

He has little ashes coming soon, and the other twilight movies from the saga. He has a lot of work.
He has a great acting career. And maybe he’s not going to make music videos or anything like that but I’m sure he loves his music and is going to continue playing in pubs and composing some songs just because he likes it.
So we have Rob Pattinson for a while.
We’re so lucky.
