What do you think?
Oct 18th, 2008 | By Kallieross | Category: Featured Articles, Question of the WeekThis week we want you to speculate about yourselves!Β Our question of the week is…
What do you think will happen to the fandom after the Twilight movie is released?
I hope you guys will take the time to really think about the question, and how YOU might proceed after the movie, as well as the fandom as a whole!
I have a feeling that the fandom will grow even more due to interest in the movie. Hopefully, the movie will get people (particularly those who love to read) reading the whole saga. I think that Twilighters everywhere will encourage everyone they know to see the movie. I told my best friend to watch the final trailer and she loves it and can’t wait for the movie. My youngest brother is also interested after the way I’ve been going on and on about it.
Where I live, there is a small group of Twilighters and we will be going to see the movie together, dragging our non-Twilighter friends along (and hope that they will love it).
From what I have seen in the trailers, the movie looks AWESOME and it’s not just because of the incredibly gorgeous cast (Robert especially – he is so hot, I am proud to be British right now). So I think it will do well at the box office. I will be going to see the movie with an open mind and appreciate it as a work of genius on Catherine Hardwicke’s part.
As for what happens after the movie’s release, I hope the fandom will remain strong; even if there are some who don’t like the movie, they will still love the books. The next question for the fandom is whether New Moon will be made. I hope it will be.
Hey Guys first of all i luv your podcast and i really appreciate all the time you have taken out to hav downloaded many many podcasts so thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But to answer your question, for me i will always be just a hhuuggee diehard twihard and after the movie is released i’m sure i’ll see it alot. When it goes out of the theaters I will still be into the books but until about a month til the DVD comes I don’t know if i’ll be reading them as much. it almost seems like I can only read the books again and again when there is something more to look forward to. (That is why I am soooooo dissapointed that Steph. Meyer has postponed Midnight Sun and one of the reasons why I hope they make a movie for each book, it keeps me interested and I always have a reason to re-read the books and frequently visit the Twilight fansites ) As for the fan world as a whole I believe that there will be alot of new fans coming out of the theaters, and I’m sure the books will climb the bestseller’s list (still are I’m sure) But the previous Twilight fans may get a little bored because there is not soooo much excitment goin on and besides the DVD release and Midight Sun there isn’t much coming up in the near future after that. So all the media Twilight is getting now may go down. Again I’m sure there will be new fans, but the old ones have a while to wait for more anticiption, because visiting fansites looking for juicy news to sink their teeth into (no pun intended lol), and buying up the newest and greatest marchandise, and seeing the movie a billion times is all the extra stuff that makes Twilight a better and more realisitc experience.!!!! (much of which we might not be doing after the movie release) so that is my answer thankyou for yor time, effort and hardwork!!!!! π π π π
Luv you guys,
Fellow Diehard Twihard (of Colorado)
First of all, I love the podcast!!!!
As someone who has recently joined the fandom I may not have all the insite of a longer fan. I read all 4 books in an 8 day period over labor day weekend. The only thing I can relate this to is HP. I wasn’t even interested in Harry Potter until after I saw the first movie. From there is spiraled out of control. My OCD for Twilight took over quickly and I think there will be hundereds of thousands of new fans after the movie comes out. Fans will drag friends and families to the movie and I know they’ll be hooked. More fans can only be good for all of us.
I can’t wait to see the movie!!!
I think that the fandom will just continue. There will be PLENTY new fans after the movie who will then go out and read the books. (I am already advertising at my school lol) I think SM will eventually pick up Midnight Sun where she left it off and we will have that to look forward to. Of course we have your amazing podcast every week π and POSSIBLY a second movie. Eventually, the fandom will have to move on, and that will be it. But it sounds like SM has plenty of new stories she wants to tell and I think true Twilight fans will read whatever she puts out!
Thanks!
i think that ,like harry potter, al lot of people will just watch the movie and like em, but not read the books. i know soooo many ppl like that….it’s so sad..i LOVE books
Love the PodCast!!! I think that the movie(s) will be really successful and that more fans will be as excited about the books. My sincerest hope is that there will be such overwhelming good thoughts about the series that Stephenie Meyer will finish Midnight Sun and would write New Moon from Edwards perspective. What in the world was Edward doing without Bella all that time? I really need to know!!!
I think the movie is going to be a blockbuster hit (which will get the New Moon movie rolling). But I also think that the Twilight Fandom is going to explode even more than it already has. Plenty of people that haven’t read the books will go see the movie, just because of all of the “hype” it’s getting. And I think once they see the movie, some will go back to read the books, which again promotes the series.
As contagious as the twilight series is, it hasn’t infected everyone yet – but just wait until the movie comes out.
i dont know if this is off the question but ,i think people will read more then the movie because the movie would leaves out so much cause they have to have the movie fit the time frame
After the movie comes out I believe that the fandom will pick up a little bit because of people who havent read the books and want to learn more about the series. I also think another reason it will pick up is because therer will be people who will want to discuss their thoughts on the movie. I think that it will be awhile but the fandom will start to slow down. There will not be much news involving the Twilight Saga and so people will move on to new books and other movies. Personally, I will check out the stepheniemeyer.com website for new news on her upcoming books and projects. I will probably stop going on youtube to check for new videos involving the movie. I think also that once news comes out that they are going to be working on the second movie, the fandom will once again pick up again and I know that I will be checking out websites and podcasts for news related to the movie.
Greetings… I am so glad I discovered your podcast. I just listened to my first one (Oct. 15th one). As I was listening to you discuss this very topic of “what will happen to the fandom,” I thought – I’ve got to tell them what I think!
I am VERY new to the Twilight universe – I started (and finished) reading the books in the past three weeks. In fact, I hadn’t even heard of the books until late this summer. Now, in a few short weeks, I’ve become completely obsessed (much to the chagrin of my husband and 2 kids!) I think that there are more potential fans like me. With additional press coverage, word of mouth, and the upcoming movie, I think more and more people will read the books. In addition, I think that younger kids that weren’t old enough to read Twilight when it came out will also become fans. Then they too will become obsessed and want to know all things Twilight. So, this will fuel the need for online content and sites such as yours. I’ve only been here for a few weeks – I’m not going anywhere soon. So, you may have some fans that drop off, especially after the movie and/or if they’ve been around for a while. But I think you’ll see more fans want to join in the obsession as time goes on.
Good luck and keep up your podcasts – for fans like me who have just joined the party. Thanks, Jen
PS – is there a way to get your older podcasts?
Even if the movie is a bust I don’t think the majority of the fandom will be all that disappointed. I have always loved to read, and very few movies made from books I have read have satisfied me because of stupid plot changes. I am OK with consolidating some of the story lines for time’s sake, but when they start changing the plots or characters of my beloved books I get really rabid. So, a bust of a movie will give us all something to grumble about, but I’ll bet we’ll all hang in there for an even better movie to be made, and certainly still look forward to a continuation of the written series when SM is ready: there are SOOOOO many possibilities for new books and story lines, I love to think about them. I read and re-read books that I like throughout my life (and I’m almost sixty years old!), never ever tiring of them. It’s been two whole months since I finished “Breaking Dawn” and I don’t expect to EVER be less eagerly looking for the next book or less excited to pick up one of the original 4!

Well I’m from germany and everybody here is totally looking forward to the movie. We’ve started to create like a group of people who are going to go to the movie and I think a lot of people who don’t like reading will become fans of twilight because of the movie and might even read the book afterwards. But unfortunately I also think that some people might not like the movie cause I think everybody has their own pictures in their minds when they read and might be disappointed that the movie isn’t like their own imagination… I just really hope the movie will be a huge success!
Ok, I feel really bad for admitting this but I think it has already begun to wear off. Don’t shoot me, but I think after the movie, guide and HOPEFULLY Midnight Sun, there will be nothing new and Twilight will slowly fade into the “once was but now…this is the new Twilight” Sad, I know, but that’s what happens.
Then again, maybe I’m wrong, possibly, new fans will emerge and show they’re Twilight Love but…maybe not.
Don’t mind my very depressing outlook on the future. What can I say? I’m a pessimist.
thats a no brainer…the fandom will either REALLY REALLY REALLY love it or they will be like”this i totally not what i pictured”but i think for me at least i will still absolutley love the series no matter what and im pretty sure i will love the movie…sooo im not really worried about the fandom..its so strong big and supportive and caring!we wouldnt do that.just drop the series..that would not be right.the fandom will still stay strong.:)
i think that there will be like sooooooooooooooooooo many more fans after the movie comes out beacause some people
don’t like to read sooooooooooo they go see the movie and if they like it (who wouldn’t???)poof they love Twilight and they
could like the movie sooooooooooooo much that they will go and read the books too and all that might lead them to your
site and then maybe listen to a podcast and then they will be a fan of your podcast too and if a bunch of people do what
i just theorized about then Twilight will be like popular until another thing comes along and gets big but i don’t think
Twilight will slowly diminish until there’s nothing left except old books and dvd’s on dusty shelves because there will
still be the crazy one’s who still get all excited when they read the books for the upteenth time and know them all by
heart yeah i’m not there yet but i might get there.
keep up the podcast you guys are hilarious I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. i know your totally Edward but Jacob isn’t that bad and yes i’m team jacob but i’m also team edward and if you wonder how then i’ll tell you ,okay (intake of breath) i didn’t come up with this i kinda found it and loved it cause i’m like one of those
switzerland persons and i can’t choose between edward and jacob sooooooo i’m team JAKEWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE YA’LL,ROSIE(that’s my nickname my real name is sarah and my middle name is rose sooo you get it)
in that coment i just put the p.s. at the bottom is for Kassie.
hey ,
love the podcast.
I was thinking about this , and of course , being the harry potter fan that i am , compared it to what is happening with that fandom right now. they are very similar in that they both have all the books out , and all of the fandom is waiting for the movie.here are my two reasons why i think twilight has more staying power.
i think that the dffrence is that the harry potter fandom i think is dieing now , and they still have two more movies, yet twilight
is suddenly getting so much bigger becuase of the movie. And the thing about twilight is once you start you cant stop.now that everyone is reading them becuase of this they want more.
which brings me too my next point. twilight has more staying power becuase it is much easer for fans to get into , espicaly to girls and woman. this makes a diffrence becuase , well , what girl hasent had a terrable day where they just want to give up on love, or something else, and just went and read a passage of Edward/Bella interaction and then felt so much better? the harry potter series is harder to do this with, although it is no less of a book or series. its just diffrent, and beucase of the diffrences , then i think that twilight has more staying power
I think more people will read the books after the movie comes out because they will get into it through that. Also while it is in theaters and when it comes out on video it will be popular but then it will fade until Midnight Sun comes out. This reminded me about Harry Potter and how the books and movies are coming out at the same time. Now that the seventh book is out the movies aren’t as big because the huge fandom of harry potter books just isn’t there. When Stephanie is done with all of the books and it is just the movies the magic won’t be there anymore because the books are just so powerful.
BTW-I really like your podcast-I started listening in the middle of July and I haven’t missed an episode since!
<3 Rebecca
I think when the twilight movie is released, the fandom will just get bigger and stronger because it will pick up fans of the movie and not just the book and many fans of the actors. I pursonally am going to get even crazier over my luv for twilight because i will have a movie to support the ‘ideas’ or the story. I mean, seriously, who wouldnt luv the books more if they are brought to life?! Ofcourse theres the issue of “what if the movie stinks..”…well i think most twi fans will still hold thier luv for the books or atleast they will still support Stephanie Meyer in her upcoming books.
Luv, Zoya
p.s: i luv ur podcast!!! u r awesome!!!!!
I definately think that the fandom will grow bigger, because people who see the film will want to read the books. I do not think that the film will be so bad (fingers crossed) that it will drive fans away – I think that if fans don’t like the movie, they’ll just go back to just reading and loving the books. I think that many fans (myself included) might find the film enjoyable, even good (hopefully!), but might still regard them as two different things. I definately think that it will get Twilight more fame, because many more people watch movies than read books (sadly!).
Love the podcast! (Especially the Brittish Bloopers one – I’m from Britain and I thought that the accents were hilarious! Nice attempts!)
Arabella (almost Bella)
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I think that Stephanie meyer will go insane from all the attention and finish midnight sun.jk but anyway I think the possibly 1 of 2 things will happen both are depending on box office numbers and how the actors portrayed their characters in the film
1. ( I really hate to say It and hope it will never happen so don’t throw rocks at me) Twilight except for the fandom will drop off the face of the earth and there will be no more movies and the actors will have to wear bags over their heads which would be a shame cuz most of um r really cute!
2. Twilight ROXXX there will be 3 more movies the fandom will get bigger, book sales will be made, Buffy summers will crawl under a rock , Stephanie meyer and Cathrine hardwick will be the 2 most famous people in history, the cast will have big career bumps, and most important of all bella and edward who are neck and neck w/ romeo and juliet as we speak will be the most famous and beloved couple in history and the cullens will beat hogwarts’ butt
love your show think it rox hope 2 c more love u!!!!!!!!! <3
Well, I’m hoping the film is very good and has that perfect mix that we all felt reading the book. If so, there’s no way the fandom won’t skyrocket. For me, personally, I write post Breaking Dawn fan fiction. So, it won’t end for me as I’ve got creativity to keep it alive. The fandom originated from the books we all love and we will always love them. If the Twilight film is a huge success, they wil greenlight New Moon. With every film, the ficklest fans are re-energized and new people are introduced to the series that might not have paid attention to it before. So, each film will stir up the fandom and get it going again. Basically, the success of the films will keep this thing at a fever pitch, otherwise, us book fans will have to keep our fandom going strong on our own.
Going off on your thought about what non Twilighters would think of the movie. Well my Uncle was over and he saw me watching the trailer… again. I had told him before about the books and he said, ” Oh that’s the books you were talking about, I watched the trailer earlier and thought it looked really good.” I said, ” You don’t know how awsome that is.” I also warned him that if went to see it that there would probably be alot of screaming girls, not to mention that i would be one of them.
Well I just thought that this might give people hope that Twiliht will be the blockbuster we all want it to.
And I love the podcast, you guys are awsom. It gives me something to do while i painfully wait for the movie to come out. And i apricate that you guys keep it clean. Thats hard to come by these days
Personally, I’ll go watch the video, and if it’s not a travesty of the book, buy it as soon as it hits video.
Real book fans won’t be put off by a flop of a movie, and I think anyone who likes the movie will read the book…
Basically, I think it’ll go like Harry Potter, but with a lot more actually making the deadlines ^_^
I personally feel that the fandom will increase. I think that the people who haven’t read the books wont nessasarily pick them up after the movie, but I do feel that if the movie is a success then there will be loyal fans to the movie(s). Some people just don’t read books or “don’t have time” ( which I personally feel that you should make time for twilight) they may in turn be interested in the series through hearsay and are too unsure to pick up the book, so they will see the movie instead. Hopefuly the movie will entise those people enough by showing them how good of a story it is and they will pick up the book as well.
I do believe the outreach for the film will be far greater than the books fanbase for that fact, (all those non-readers), and because the movie trailers have been created to interest all sorts of crowds. For example. My boyfriend is not a reader. He isn’t in to lovey chick flicks or romances by any means. We were watching tv and the trailer aired and he said to me that it looked it would be a good movie. I then laughed because I remembered your last podcast. I had to tell him that that was the books I had been reading. He didn’t know what to say but I told him that he was seeing It with me. Whether he wanted to or not. π
After the Twilight Movie comes out I am sure that the fandom will discuss it for months on end. But once the hype from the movie has died down, I think that the future of the fandon really depends on if there are going to be any more movies or books. I personally will keep reading the books, talking with my friends about Twilight, and listing to podcast (as long as they go on), but if there are no more movies and books to look forward to, there is going to be very little news, and very little to discuss. I hate to make a Harry Potter comparison, but the reason that fandom is still going as strong as it is and has been going as strong as it is for so long is because there are still three movies to be released, and even with that, the fandom is still slowing down. I do not belive that the Twilight fandom will dissappear, as long as there are fans of the books, there will be a fandom, but I do not think that it will continue to exist as we know it.
If there are still more books or movies to look forward to after the premire, however, I belive that the Twilight fandom will continue until we have nothing else to look forward to.
After the movie i think we all have high hopes for a sequel. I think its almost Guaranteed. As the fandom will most likely triple in if not double in fans. We have all seen the new scenes and the many trailers we can see that chemistry hopefully others can too and it will carry on as the rest of the movies hopefully get made. But even after that what will happen? It all depends on Mrs. Meyers plan for new books. Guess we will all have to wait.
The Fandom will change. There is no doubt about that, There will always be the “book fans” and the contrast the “movie fans”. The fandom as it is right now will change. We have already seen changes as the movie information was being released. It will become more Movie centered then book centered. For that reason i think the “Movie Fandom” Will grow however the “Book Fandom” will not grow. After the movie those who have not read the book first will see no need for reading the original book.
Hi y,all
I thank the fans will love all of this and there will be some people that will hate the way they made the movie. So we will have to see. I will love love the movie, well I hope I do. I thank that all of them will be great at it. I love you guys
I know that there may not be anymore twilight to books to come out although I really hope that Midnight Sun does come out, but I think people will continue to speculate about what has happened with the Cullens and the pack even though there may not be anymore books.I also think that people will read the rest of the books that Stephanie will write. I am looking forward to another Host. And the movies! I love the podcast you ladies!
I feel that the fanbase may get bigger. Some people after seeing the movies may get into the books so they know what to expect in the later movies(if they are made!) and some people may just be fans of the movies. I will still be a loyal fan to the series because in my opinion the movie is only making things even better!
i think they should make more movies and more books and make the movie Twilight a tv series on ABC Family. They should seriously make it a tv show and maybe a video game.
I don’t like jacob! He really bugs me. I wish he would leave Bella alone and accept the fact that Bella and EDWARD belong together, not Jacob and Bella! I didn’t like seeing the book form jacobs mind whatsoever. Do you guys like jacob? Anyway, I think that yhe movie will increase the fandom due to the fact of seeing the characters on the big screen. By,the way,Super bella rules! I do miss Simple bella some though. Rob is perfect for edward. Alright, thanks!
Hello Ladies!
Well, as far as what will happen to the twilight fandom once the movie is released, I believe that it will become more crazed than ever. I am new to Twilight myself. I read the books for the first time starting in August of this year. I have already read the books twice and listened to ALL of your past podcasts and have finally caught up to the current ones (I must say that listening to your predictions of Breaking Dawn having already read it were hysterical). I think after the movie is released, fans of the movie that have not already read the book will be running to the book stores…I am thinking about reading them one more time before the movie just to feel connected again. I must say that the first time I read the books I read them in such close succession I had a hard time remembering where one stopped and the other one started.
Back to the question though, I think new fans will be “Born” and that there will not be a shortage of Twilight Fandom.
I love the podcasts, keep them coming!!
I love your podcast!!!
ooohhhh….. a toughy. once the movie comes out fandom will not end although it might decrease…. in a way all excitement will be over. i think everyone fell in love with bella and edward and with all stories about them comeing to a close i think there will be many unhappy twilighters. Aside from the soon released midnight sun stephenie meyer has said thier story is over. i think there would be a definate loss in fans. she could either continue with thier story, though there is not much else to say…. or write about someone else… i fell in love with edward and do not want to read about puppies. Sure jacob’s story would be interesting i think team edward would be deeply saddened. in my opion stephenie meyer should write about renesmee, since we got little of this charecter except that she will reach the peak of her development in about 7 years. this way jacob, edward and bella and all the other charecters we all love, would still be in the story.
HELLO!
i have to explain when i first started reading these books- at the moment, im 15 – a sophomore. i first read the books in 7th grade, and fell in love. one thing that has been disapointing to me since, is the sudden jump in fans since the movie! i love sephenie meyer, and wish her all the sucess, but i feel as if this world that we all fell in love with, is now what EVERYONE knows!
As far as the fanbase goes, i think it will calm down alot after the movie, after a quick rise. alot of people just read the books because of the movie. knowing that – it will all be forgotten after the movie comes out. i know that the movie has been hyped up a bit, and wont meet all my expectations. but i still think it will be great, and that i know I will love it. i know after the movie – ill probably read the books about 20 more times. (ive read it 17 times now. 7 twilight, 3 new moon, 13 ecplise, and 4 breaking dawn) as for everyone else, i really think it matters what type of fan you are: a movie fan, or a book fan.

Well considering that i did not pick up a harry potter book till after i watched the third movie (see im a little weird i watched the movies backwards i watched the 3,2,1) i think the fandom will go up alot for TWILIGHT and i mean alot as soon as people watch the movies i really do think people will (especially the teenage girls like me) will go out and read the books if they haven’t already read them but as for me i will continue to read the books and i will more than likely be going to see the more than once and it will be bought the day it comes out of DVD
Twilight is such a great book and I think the movie will follow it, so the number “new-born” fans (ahah, private joke) will definitely increase. I’m pretty sure that Harry Potter fans will love the Twilight movie and even the ones who don’t like HP will be amazed by Bella and Edward’s love story. Kinda out of subject, boys should read the Twilight Saga, so they can understand what girls like ;P
Now, even more out of the subject, I just want to tell you how GREAT you are. Your podcast is just amazing!! I’ve seen it on iTunes, when I was looking for “Twilight Original Soundtrack” π I love your voices and you are helping me improving my english (yeah, I’m from that small european country called “Portugal” – btw, sorry about my sometimes-not-that-good english). I’ve heard on one of the podcasts that you had put all the petitions somewhere, but now I can’t find it. Can you add this one there ?
http://www.petitiononline.com/pmp/petition.html Portugal wants Stephenie Meyer (and, if possible, some of the actors) here, for a signing session! Please, help us π

My guess is that the reaction to the movie will be a lot like the reation to Breaking Dawn. We all have high expectations, and for some people it will meet those expectations and for some it will not. Some people will love it see it over and over and some will start “Don’t burn it–return it” movements online.
It’s like with Eragon– the book was awesome but the movie was so-so. For people like me, who hadn’t read the book before seeing the movie, it was really good, but my sisters, who had read the book, kept going on about what a disapointment it was.
As for me, I’m trying to keep my expectations as low as possible. I know it is physically impossible to create a movie as great as the book, but I think the movie will be good anyway. My thing is I want it to be EXACTLY like the book, which isn’t going to happen, and I want to appreciate it none the less. The biggest thing I’m worried about is that I’ll see the movie and not be able to return to how I imagined it. Robert Pattinson looks NOTHING like the Edward in my head, and I’m worried after I see Rob in the movie I won’t be able to picture MY Edward. Humph.
Anyway, to end my ramblings, my guess is that I’ll see it, have this little internal protest inside me, get used to it, and go absolutely crazy for it.
haha i think we’ll all DISAPPEAR!!!!
nah
midnight sun is hopefully coming out, and the movies an evrything so we’ll stick around i guess
but the hype will die eventually
I think the movie has caused the peak of the fandom – i know that”s how i heard of the books – and after the release it will continue to have a large fandom but it will plateau and eventually drop… until (fingers crossed) Midnight Sun or a New Moon movie is released
I am hoping after the movie is released then the hype for New Moon will give the fans something to stink their teeth into. We all love this series and want to follow it for three more movies. Also, I hope (and this is a long shot) that Stephenie Meyer will continue to write Midnight Sun because I want to hear Edward’s thoughts when he had to rescue Bella from James. I know this book is on “indefinite hold”, but unlike vampires, I can dream about it.
I am from Philadelphia, and just wanted to say, let’s congratulate our 2008 World Series Champions! (They’re no Cullens, but they are the Fightin’ Phils!)
I think that the fandom will continue on in hopes that New Moon will be made-well at least a new moon like movie. I also think that the fandom will increase because will be intrigued by the movie who have never read the books. If I had to guess, I would say that the movie will inspire more guys to read the books because they will see all the action from the movie.
By the way… love the show, you grils are by far my favorite!
Hey guys,
I love your podcast!
So anyway I think after the movie is relesed the fandom will gain more new fans and the fandom will keep growing. But on the other hand after the movie the fans who have ben reading the books for years won’t really have much to look foward to unless Stephenie Meyer publishes Midnight Sun (which I hope she does) and if she ever does it might be a long way away. If Summit deceides to do New Moon as a movie it might take a while… So Twilight might loose some fans.
So anyway keep up the good work with the podcasts,
Your listener from France.
Hey from Australia – love your show! PLEASE ANSWER!!!
I’m 15 and in LOVE with the series and I am hoping that there will be new fans who will go out and want to read the books after seeing the movie but I’m thinking if the movie doens’t quite make it, some of the long time fans may start to drop out or sort of become a bit bored of it. Hopefully its a massive hit and they decide to make the rest, because it’s a series that you really need the rest of the movies in order – they couldn’t just skip to eclipse – and I think they need to go all the way – like Harry Potter.
One question I have that is completely irrelevant but very interesting PLEASE ANSWER!!!
With Edward’s mind reading, there is a bit of a contradiction in the series and I am interested to see you opinions. I have read only the 1st chapter of Midnight Sun, and in it Edward hears the “voices” of other people and what they are thinking. From this, you get the impression that he hears what people are thinking i.e. what words are running through their heads. However, at the end of Breaking Dawn, when Bella shows Edward her thoughts, she fills her mind with pictures and emotions from the honeymoon, so you would assume she is not literally describing them in words in her head, rather imagining a picture or a feeling. How does his power work? Does he only hear voices as Midnight Sun sugqests or is this something that Stephenie may have overlooked?
Keep up the great work yours is the best podcast of all, I like that you stick o topic (mostly!) and have structure – like news.
THanks so much,
love ur biggest fan from down under
Zoe zz
i think that the fans will continue being loyal to Stephenie(i mean she is like a godess!!) but i think it may decrease a little because of the fans that are disapointed. The movie will also probably bring more fans because they will watch the movie and decide to read the books. also i do not think it will be a blockbuster but i do hope that it makes enough money for the (hopefully) next 3 movies.
I think Thats the movie will be a big thing, thats will bring non twilighters to the movie. My friend says she won’t read the books but willl see the movie.
Hello hello hello! I love your podcast, even though I only recently got to listening to it. I think one of the best parts of it is the Question of the Week. :]
Like so many people have already said, the release of the movie will bring on more Twilight Fans and those who have been a fan of twilight before the release will be super supportive of this milestone for the series. I’m sure a LOT of people will start a countdown to the DVD release date (I know I will) and look forward to new things happening for Twilight. However, I think this release will make people more anxious for Stephenie to finish her work with Midnight Sun, if she chooses to. I mean thats like a major taunt to post up the first chapter and nothing else, lol. And I think that goes for people who have AND havent read it. On a different note, the release could start up fans craving a New Moon movie, even though there wouldn’t necessarily need to be one. But, in my opinon, that would be a little bit on the slacker side considering I’ve heard over and over Twilight is beating out Harry Potter and look how many movies THEY’VE got!
In a different point of view the release of the movie may very well disappoint a number of fans and we’ll end up with less. Its totally their choice but i think the release may bring out the side of every fan that will test who’s a true fan at heart, and who’s a fan until they see Edward (of whoever may be their boycandy choice lol) isn’t as hot on the big screen as they pictured…or something to that effect.
Keep on rockin’ the podcast world!!
oh by the way..i love the ‘Supporter Speculation’ jingle π
