hmm i dont know how i feel about the movie. although i think it was very rushed and the medow was not what i thought it would be overall i liked and think it was a good movie. the new medow scene grew on me and robs preformance in that scene was amazing. there was a lot of awkward pauses and cheezeness but in a good was i thought all the supporting roles where great mike was so funny.i really liked the part when Billy and Charlie where fighting in the background and billy was trying to be cool.one thing that really bugged me was the cullens were not developed at all and i alice never found out about her past they could have definatly squezed in a couple more mins. for that and for her and bella to become better friends. i love how the set it up perfectly for new moon and all the little jokes like when jacob came to prom and edward was like i leave you alone for 1 min. and the wolfs decend. so overall not what i thought it would be like but i think that everyone did a fantastic job and i will definatly go see it some more.

I think the movie was better than I expected, but as a fan it left to much out and was too rushed. As mentioned by other posters, they never said I love you, which makes some sense because this movie doesn’t show you why they would. I really missed the romance. Edward and Bella’s characters are hardly developed. So early in the movie do we discover what Edward is, that it becomes — Edward is a vampire and Bella loves him, rather than Bella loves him and he happens to be a vampire. It’s a subtle difference, but I think it matters.

Also, Edward’s charm is almost non-existent (no fault of Rob Pattinson — I think it’s a script/director problem). Two little things that really bothered me: Edward honked the horn when he came to pick Bella up for school! He would have walked up to her front door if he wanted her to know he was there. Where were his good manners?! And, in the ballet studio, he would never have dropped her. Never! Vampires aren’t clumsy!

One last thing, if Victoria came to the prom, wouldn’t Edward notice?

I loved it! When the movie started I was crying. I was finally watching it! The Cathrine Hardwicke did superb job at creating this film. The cast was as just as I thought it would be. I can not think of a scene that I did not like. I would have liked to see the fainting spell in Biology and wish it was a little longer with more character in depth. I hope they win some kind of award. Especially being on a budget.

YOU GUYS ROCK. THANKS FOR A GREAT TWILIGHT EXPERIENCE!

I would give it 4 out 5 stars. This adaptation was pretty faithful to the book and kept the cheese to a minimum. But the cheese was in the book and when it was placed in the actors mouths, they made you believe it was the best cheese they had ever tasted! You gotta give props to Rob and Kristen for delivering some of the corniest lines in literature with grace.

Here are some of my favorite parts as I jotted them down in the theatre:

Billy Burke as Charlie will melt your heart.

    The Nomads are awesome.

The humans are lively and funny.

Taylor Lautner as Jacob is adorable.

Visual effects are a mixed bag – some work while others not so much.

    Loved Gil Birmingham as Billy.

Great use of Oregon as Washington – the scenery is amazing.

    Baseball scene is epic.

Lots of “Easter eggs” for fans.

i loved it. it wasn’t totally like the book which it made it all the better in my eyes. i loved the casts portrayals of their characters. i thought they all did a phenomenal job. i loved the tension between edward and jacob at the end and then that little remark edward makes about the wolves descending upon bella. i thought that was very clever. the movie was very…PG at some parts though. take the nomads for example. i wanted to see some action! and not just them finding their prey, but actually killing or hurting their prey. i’m just saying that all the action to come in the series, like in eclipse, is going to go flat if they keep the PG-13 rating. i mean, i don’t know how movies get their ratings. like what is TOO much of something to still be considered PG-13, but i do know that that HUGE battle in eclipse has to be amazing! and like i said, i don’t know how things get rated. they could put more action in it and it could still be PG-13. i just know that i want to see alice, jasper, emmett, rosalie, esme, and carlisle kicking serious butt in the third one. twilight actually did have a lot of action though now that i’m thinking about it though. it was still an amazing movie. i definitely give it 5 stars.

***. It almost seemed it was directed by two different personalities. Some parts were flawless and very involved, and there were other parts where I sat back and wondered if I was really seeing what I was seeing. Some parts were unintentionally cheesy. But there were other parts where the cheesiness worked perfectly. I’m seeing it again, for sure, because I need to get a feel for it.

  7. pearlyshells says:

I havent seen the movie yet because im watching it tomorrow but from all the comments I’ve been reading it seems like half the people loved it and the other half were okay or dissappointed by it, but I just wanted to point out to all those who seem to be really dissappointed or looking for a certain favorite chapter in the movie that you really cant expect Summit to cram every chapter in 2 hours and do everything exactly to the book, I personally would love that but its just not reality. I think some people who have read Twilight are going into this movie with high hopes of the movie giving the same hype as the book, but its just not possible because a book and a movie are two different things, yes the movie is based off the book but a book entertains the mind and gets it thinking but a movie entertains the mind for a couple of hours and thats it. Im sure that Bella falling in love with Edward is rushed which I would expect because if they really added all the beginning chapters of falling in love the first 1 1/2 hours would be the whole experience of Bella falling in love with Edward. In my opinion if Im so lucky as to feel the same love and compassion through the movie as I did in the book well then thats good enough for me and really thats all I could really ask for, anything else good is a plus.

  8. *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this movie was great! Obviously not better than the book, but it still rocked!! I went at midnight at practically riped my friends arm off when Jasper came on!

  9. Suze says:

i was dissapointed with the movie. Maybe it was because my expectations were so high, but i just found it extremly akward and unintentionally funny. There were times when the whole theatre would start laughing at parts you were not supposed to laugh at. Also i did not like Rob Pattersons portrayal of Edward. He seemed very akward (hate to use that word again) and shy. And the looks that they gave each other, especially when they were in the car and touched eachothers hands, was just overdone and cheesy. I think Kristen Stewart did an okay job, although i thought bella was supposed to be more sarcastic. The camera angles were also kind off weird at times. I love the books and will continue to be a fan but i just wish that the movie could have liven up to them. Hopefuly New Moon will do a better job.

  10. Cherise says:

I really liked it. I went in prepared to be a bit disappointed and wasn’t. I felt it was to choppy at the beginning. They gave no sense of time passing. Just like all of the sudden they would die for each other. I think if they had added 15-30 more minutes and developed some of the scenes even just a minute more, it would have flowed better. They showed conversations of Bella and Edward talking but we never heard any of it. Even when he picks her up for school they could have had the 20 questions type conversation. Put them in a few different outfits and show time passing. The meadow scene should have been much more central and all they did was stare at each other. I am not sure that if you hadn’t read the book if you would understand what was going on. They also should have put a bit of Alice and Bella in it and Bella and Emmett. They also should have played up his protectiveness and the tender touches from Edward more.
Jessica was terrific, as was Victoria. I don’t think they could have done any better. Charlie was the perfect choice for her dad and Billy they nailed. Rob and Kristen were fabulous. Jacob was good but needs to changed in the middle of the New Moon movie. After the movie when Bella hasn’t seen him for all that time and barely recognizes him. They need to change to a bigger, older actor. Over all very happy and can’t wait to go see it again!

  11. Jacob's Girl says:

I have to give this movie four stars! ****
My group got to the theater three hours early, and we got great seats. While the movie was rolling, I was so happy and content. I was totally enjoying the movie. When Jacob Black came on screen, I squeeled and bit my finger so hard!! All my friends were looking and laughing at me. The end, when Bella and Edward were dancing, was so sweet. I am a Jacob fan, but let me just say that I choked up and cryed at that part. I just thought that I was actually there at the movie, watching it opening night! How could this movie get any better. That is why I gave it four stars.
The only things that I didn’t like about the movie was how Edward sparkled. He looked like he was sweating.

  12. Angie G says:

I loved it! the only thing i was sad they left out was tyler comeing to pick up bella for prom, i laughed so much. but i think they did a great job on the movie, all there is to say is ALICE KICKS BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!! and the baceball was soooooooooooooooooooo fun!!!!!

  13. Annika says:

I would give it 4 stars! I really enjoyed it, it was better than most book to movie adaptions that I have seen. There were some parts that were a little cheesy, but it definitely did the book justice. The one thing that really bothered me is that Bella and Edward never say they love each other! That just seems like such an important part! I could have missed it, but I don’t remember it. I thought the casting was amazing and that everyone really embraced their character. I was worried that they were going to make the baseball game, my favorite scene form the book, super cheesey, but it was really funny and I loved watching the Cullens interact! Thanks ladies for all your hardwork! Love the show and the light you are shining!!

  14. Team Edward and Alice says:

I loved the movie it gets a 10000000 percent!!!

  15. Allie Nessie Black says:

Okay, I just want to preface this by saying that I had very low expectations for this film. I am used to getting my hopes up for movie adaptations and I am always disappointed. So, I went in to the theatre thinking it would be anywhere from bad to okay, and came out absolutely loving it! I would probably give it 4 – 4.5 stars. I loved the casting, which I wasn’t a huge fan of from the beginning, and I also really liked how they condensed it at the right parts and left the big parts as they were. One of the only things I had a problem with was that Edward sounded kind of Spanish for part of the movie. Did anyone else notice that? But overall, I really enjoyed it.

  16. Shalan says:

Amazing. I’m sooo happy they stayed true to the book. Kristen Stewart & Rober Pattinson captured the tension between Bella & Edward perfectly. Also, I’m a big fan of the baseball scene.
    Love the podcast!

  17. JennaLee says:

i know people already mentioned this but they NEVER said I LOVE YOU to each other at all!!!!!!!!!! That is what dissapointed me, some of the most intimate dialogue between bella and edward was completely overlooked and yet crucial to understanding their strong bond. i loved the movie, that was really the only thing (besides the cheesy rob reaction in biology)

  18. me says:

The casting of all of the cullens was AMAZING! Edward Cullen could not be played by anyone else!! Other than that however I really cant say much about it. A manequin could have played Bella better than Kristen Stewart did. There were just so many things wrong Im disgusted. Okay they may have kept some of the dialogue but it all happened in the wrong places and at the wrong times!! I dont think there was one acurate scene in the entire movie! Im very dissapointed in Summit Entertainment – but Robert Pattinson stilll did an amazing job.

  19. Sophie Weavers says:

hmm well i am waiting til’ Dec 19th to see this movie..as i live in London…i was quite shocked by comment 49….its making me a little worried!!
Its a HUGE shame that ” i love you” was not mentioned in to movie….o well…just think of all the pressure those guys were under!! …but i do agree “i love you” should be in there SOMEWHERE!..its the most important friggin’ line for crying out loud!
but lets see….heres to another 4 week wait!

  20. Sarah L. says:

i am undecided, i liked the way some of the changes went i thought that it flowed very well and i also really liked the casting/ characterizations but some of the scenes with bella and edward had more of an awkward feel than a passionately romantic feel to them. but overall i thought the movie was really very well made and i just plain old loved it ( i saw it 2 times, once at midnight and then once at 2:00 pm the same day =] )

  21. Kate says:

Can I give it infinity? πŸ™‚

  22. Sharie says:

I was fortunate enough to see this movie twice last night. My friend knew the theater manager and so we were able to see the pre-screening right before the midnight showing. Although I will say I enjoyed it better the second time once I could let everything sink in, this movie did not meet my expectations. The editing from scene to scene was choppy and the story line didn’t flow. It felt very rushed. One minute Edward is biting Bella’s head off and the next turns around and says “we shouldn’t really be friends.” When had they become friends?! One minute they are barely speaking to each other and then suddenly they are declaring their love to one another. I do not blame the actors for this. This was bad editing in my opinion. Rob’s portrayal of Edward was well done, but it really could have used a lot more subtlety and less awkwardly overdone intensity. In a more serious version of twilight that might have worked, but it didn’t fit Catherine’s version and came across as overacted. (I would have liked a more serious version). In fact, people laughed a lot at Edward throughout the movie during parts that weren’t intended to be funny. Not good. My favorite scenes were when he seemed more relaxed at his house when he introduced Bella to his family. His naturalness here made Edward’s character much more believable. And the pasty white make-up and bright blood red lipstick didn’t help in the believability department. What was up with the lipstick??!! There was too much time spent on stupid high school antics and not enough on building the romance. I knew the special effects were going to be cheesy ahead of time, so I was prepared for that. That being said, I would have made the executive decision to spend less time on action stuff and more on the love story. I did think the baseball scene and the fight showdown came out real well, but not so much with the tree scenes. The sparkle effect was kind of a let down too. I expected something more dramatic. I have to say I did like Taylor Lautner’s very natural and easy going portrayal of Jacob. Kristen Stewart gave a well-rounded performance. I also enjoyed Charlie and Jessica quite a bit.

I did really like the Victoria angle at the end. That was a neat twist. The tears of sadness in her eyes made you really feel for her in a way that the book never really went into. Nice touch. Not enough of the Cullens in general. Emmett and Jasper barely spoke at all and definitely not enough Alice. I realize how hard it must have been to try and fit so much into such a short period of time, I just feel some scenes could have given way to more development of the love story.

The second viewing I paid attention to people’s reactions around me. People laughed during scenes that weren’t supposed to be funny, like at the end when Edward can’t stop himself from drinking Bella’s blood. That made me sad. That was a good sign that Catherine’s and Rob’s intentions for the scene’s were not coming across in the right way. Overall, I did enjoy the movie, just not to the extent I thought I would. Sorry for the long post. I needed to vent.

  23. Jennifer says:

I give the movie ***’s. Casting was great with the actors fitting their roles. I would have loved to have seen the blood typing scene and more of a reaction from Kristen to the idea that Edward has been sneaking into her room at night to watch her sleep. Like some other people here, I wish the baseball scene could have been longer. Keeping in mind that the book had to be condensed into a 2 hour movie, I think the movie was done as well as it could be. I’m interested in seeing how they do New Moon now….

  24. Lyncoln says:

I know I’ve already commented and gave my review, but I wanted to say something else. Yes, I was disappointed also that Edward and Bella didn’t say I love you to each other. But when you think about it, it was implied when Edward said, “So the lion fell in love with the lamb.” and Bella said, “I was unconditionally, and irrevocably in love with him.” At least they left those lines in there.

To comment #49, I have to say I don’t think it’s right to say that those who liked it have obviously fallen victim to the hype and we think that Edward is hot! That is faaaar from the reason I loved the movie. It’s like you’re saying we’re shallow. Well, I know that not everyone is gonna love the movie like I did. yes, I’ve been disappointed that there has been so much “hate” about the movie, but I’m not gonna say that they hate it for a specific reason or that they’re wrong for hating it.

While there are some things that could’ve been done better…like in every movie and every book- to-movie adaptation…I still think it was a well put together movie with the budget that they had. I didn’t find any scenes between Bella and Edward to be awkward at all…except maybe the Meadow scene where they lie down next to each other in slow motion and the music plays. It was kinda off then…but other than that….the chemistry and everything was right on the mark!

  25. Haley says:

***************************************************LOVED IT!! just got back from watching it. i didn’t like the sparkling! it didn’t look right. and stephenie was in it!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was like omg it’s stephenie!!!!!! loved jacob showing up to prom in his little shirt and tie so cute! it felt really rushed though…

  26. Caroline says:

Am I the only one who noticed that they didn’t even say they loved each other?! I mean yeah, I guess it’s pretty obvious..ish, but honestly, I think it should have been in there at least once. I liked it alot– It was good, and I loved it, I just wish there had been some more loveyish scenes. I think Ashley Greene did amazing, but Alice seemed waaay different than I imagined her. Like, she didn’t seem as hyper and peppy as she was described in the book..but I still loved her! I LOVED Charlie!! He was HILARIOUS! hahahaha, with the pepper spray stuff! lol..all the characters fit pretty good for me, I just wish it had been more about their love for each other. All in all though, I’m content with how it came out, and I will be watching a milllion more times (:

  27. Sharie says:

I also didn’t like parts of Carter Burwell’s score. Especially the music playing in the biology scene. It sounded like after-school special music with the cheesy guitar. I thought it added to the unintentional humor by giving it the wrong feel. I did like the quiluete indian theme though. Also not a fan of Bella’s Lullaby or more appropriately Bella’s theme. It’s not even a lullaby.

  28. liz says:

ok first, I LOVED IT! even thought it left out a lot of things and added extra i still loved it! im going to buy it when it comes out. i thought i was funny which i liked, rob and kristen has awesome chemistry. i didnt think i was going to like robert as edward but he did a great job! we all can be satisfied! but they did a very good job!!

  29. Angela L. says:

Luv u guys and luv the Podcast!

Honestly I have mixed feelings about the movie.
I am glad that it stayed true to the book, for the most part. I LOVED the baseball scene! It was exactly how I envisioned it in my mind!
That being said, so many key moments(I thought they were key anyway) were left out :(. The biology scene where they do their blood types and Edward bailing(?!?!?),. Bella talking in her sleep and Edward Saying to her “If I could dream at all,it would be about you” (my FAVORITE line from the book), and dare I even mention Bella’s Lullaby? If these moments could have been in the movie I would have been the happiest girl on Earth! But they weren’t and I am ticked.

I give 3 out of 5 stars because it was a good effort to stay true to the Twilight book. They could have just taken the effort to go a little bit further!

  30. Brandi says:

I agree with most of everything that has been said. I do think it was choppy and rushed and cheesy in parts. BUT overall I would give it **************************************************************. Because to finally see the Cullens(OME WHEN YOU FIRST SEE THEM!!!) is totally FLIPPIN SHWEEET!!!!! I LOVED all actors. I believe that (if they make it, though I am sure they will) New Moon will have a higher budget AND they will know maybe what could be done better. Hopefully they will read some of the fan comments to hit the mark a bit better next time. BUT STILL OME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  31. Heidi says:

I LOVED the movie. My favorite part is when Bella & Edward are having dinner in Port Angeles. The conversation topics, with Rob’s “Never Think” song playing in the back ground…Ugh, it made my heart skip a beat! 5 stars for realz.

  32. Caroline says:

Oh, and NOT TO MENTION that they didnt mention BELLA’S LULLABY! What the heck!? I mean honestly, that cant just POP UP in later movies, for the people who’ve never read the books! Argh! They should have added that, or at least one freaking LINE about it. Ugh!! But still, I loved it..(:

  33. Brandy says:

I really did like the movie, but I felt it was a little rushed. I fell like if I hadn’t read the book, I would have been a little lost. They didn’t really develop the characters the way I had hoped. That being said, I went in a group of 6 people to see it. Only 2 of us had read the books, & it seems that the people who didn’t read the book really liked the movie. So much so that one wants to read the book now. Don’t get me wrong, I did like it, but I think I was concentrating too much on the story line to enjoy the movie. I’m going to re-watch it within the next few days to get a second glemce. My favorite scene was definitely the baseball scene! It was amazing! I was disappointed with the first biology scene, but I’m not sure what they could have done to make it better in my eyes. Like I said, I want to watch it again & hopefully enjoy it a little more & not think about it so much :~)

  34. taytew says:

It was decent… like everyone else I felt like it was rushed–but that isn’t necessarily their fault. Yeah, it’s a low-budget film and that was fine. But, HELLO, the sparkling skin could have been a bit more pronounced… did anyone else think it just looked like Edward was sweating? And also, I felt like there might have been a bit of over-acting on Rob and Kristens’ parts at times.
Other than that, I completely swooned every time I recognized something from the book =p and the kiss scene was PERFECT, even though it wasn’t in the meadow. I think they got the tension and the passion all wrapped up together nice! Oh my God and the mashup at the end when Bella got bit by James and whenever Edward attacked James, I think it really showed what Edward was going through when he had to decide A) not to kill James and B) to save Bella.

    Oops, didn’t mean to ramble… =p

  35. dznygrl says:

I loved it! Seriously four out of five stars. It was cast perfectly!! I loved all of the Cullens, but I was surprised by Charlie, Billy, Mike, and Jessica! They were perfect! My favorites were Mike’s “Yo! Arizona!” and Charlie and Billy’s “I’m down with the kids,” “Yeah, You da bomb!” Haha! I thought Emmett and Rosalie were perfect too. Rosalie was just as mean as ever – perfect! – and Emmett was hilarious! I loved his “Well, her name’s Bella.” I just loved that whole scene in the kitchen where we first meet all the Cullens. I thought the beginning was perfect too. When it started, I was totally hooked and just knew that Summit had done a good job. I did feel that it was REALLY rushed and that they left a lot out (come on! they only kissed once!), but I feel that Summit did excellent at capturing the feel of the story. When the movie was over, I wanted so much more. It was the exact feeling I had when I read the book! The other thing I was worried about was the little inside jokes that were in it. I went to it at midnight so it was filled with twilighters that had all read the books and understood, but I feel like you wouldn’t understand a lot of them if you hadn’t read the book, like the seatbelt thing. It was way funny, but it never explained in the movie that Edward is like a stone. I wish they would have had more time to develop their relationship because I felt like they were all of a sudden completely in love with each other. To me it seemed like Edward was still mad at Bella when he was indirectly telling her that he loved her (they never said “I love you” πŸ™ ). Overall, I think it was very well done. It’s all I’ve been thinking about since I saw it and I desperately need to see it again!

    Keep up the great work!

  36. Sammi Knight says:

Just came home from seeing a 4:45 showing in NJ. First off my rating is a 4 out 5.
pros: chemistry, overall acting, montage, etc. (I can’t write them all).
cons: sparkling, running/flying, felt a little rushed at the beginning, not enough Cullen.
I loved the added scariness and action to it becuase it seems like something a guy can go see and enjoy. My friend and i giggled when we heard music from the soundtrack and the whole theathre cracked up at Jasper’s “pain face”. The montage scene was AMAZING and Let Me Sign was playing in the background. if it wasn’t for the fact that i knew the ending, i would’ve been worried that Edward could’ve killed her. I missed my school’s homecoming dance to go see this and belive it was worth it. i can’t wait to go again. and again. and again. and again…

  37. Brandy says:

Oh, and did anyone else think that jasper looked like Edward Scissor hands??? LOL! I couldn’t stop laughing!

  38. Megan says:

I went in there with rather low expectations. I have had my fair share of disappointments of books made into movies. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I think part of it was that I wasn’t thinking at all of the book, to be honest. I went in the theater just trying to think to myself that this is something completely seperate from the book. It’s hard to do when you are completely obsessed with the book, but I have had ‘training’ with Harry Potter, and I try to do that with every movie I see that is based on a book.
It’s not a perfect movie, but what do you expect? The special effects were rather mediocre, but I think they managed well with their low-ish budget. Sure, they didn’t have every aspect of the book, but how can you fit every page of a 500 page book into a movie? It was a fast-pased movie, which some view as a negative aspect but I personally think it’s a positive one. My brother and father who went to the midnight showing with me (bless their hearts) were entertained during the whole movie, and they really had no interest in seeing it other than to make me happy. I think the movie served the book justice because it picked the most important parts in the story (and maybe added a few twists).
I have to say I am rather pleased with the casting as well. I think Rob did an excellent job as Edward, and played his part quite nicely. While sometimes Kristen’s acting was a little off, I think she served as a pretty decent Bella. My favorite actor was probably Billy Burke as Charlie. He had his role down pat. I also was pleasantly surprised with Nikki Reed. While originally I had not been particularly happy with that casting decision, I think that she played Rosalie exactly as Rosalie was in the books.
Overall, I really did enjoy this movie. Again, it’s not perfect but then again, I don’t think anyone was expecting to like the film better than the book.

  39. jcmy1nonly says:

I really enjoyed the film. We went to the midnight premiere and it was fantastic. I wish that it could have been longer so that the auxillary characters could have been developed more thoughroughly. It felt a bit rushed, but then again they were trying to cram an entire novel into 2 hours of film. After seeing the performances given in Twilight, I’m even more excited about the subsequent films. I’m going to see it again this weekend! Keep up the great work, you ladies are freakin’ fabulous!

  40. Christy says:

Because I like the cast very much, especially Kristen and Robert, because the books have so much potential and material that can be used to make a great movie… GO AND SEE THE MOVIE in support of the cast so that perhaps they’ll make enough to do the sequels and make those loads and loads better.

I think the studio owes the fans and actors a better movie — BETTER SCREENPLAY, BETTER DIRECTOR, BETTER MUSIC. The casting was great. The sets were great. IT HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!! It was trying really hard to be epic, the budget wasn’t epic. The screenplay and the directing were inadequate.

Someone mentioned that Robert’s acting was a bit over the top. I’ve seen his other work – Harry Potter and T.V. movies. He did just fine in those. That’s why I think it the problem lies in the screenplay, editing, scoring, and directing.

Could some studio out there with big bucks please give Kristen and Robert a great movie to make up for the inadequacies of this adaptation? They need justice!! The Books need to be done justice!!!

  41. Jaclynmarie15 says:

I got to see it at midnight with my friends, and I was quite happy with the movie to be honest with you. all of us were. Rob did tremendously well, and im not just saying that because i think he looks amazing. I wasnt quite sure if he could portray edward very well, but he definitely blew my mind!! I actually thought kristen would be a better at bella than rob at edward, but it was actually bella that seemd flat to me!! if i hadn’t read the books and gotten to know her so well through them, she probably wouldve seemed not as well developed as edward was. there seemed to be more angst and more conflict in edward, i thought thered be more inner conflict in bella about edward being a vampire and everything. kristen seemed to be monotone the whole time, and had flat expressions throughout the movie. sadly, she did REALLY well when james was torturing her. but their chemistry was the exact oppostte, they truly captured the love story, and relayed it onto the big screen perfectly!! it did seem to go kinda fast, but i pretty much expected that.

i was disappointed they cut out the part at the end in the airport where bella runs away from alice and jasper, and they cut out the whole hiking to edwards meadow part, but that was about it on that topic. i was also surprised to see edward didnt mention jaspers power too.The fight scene was AMAZING!! i saw the clip of james biting bella at the comicon, but it was so much better seeing it all together! It was great watching alice snap his head off too!!

im sad to admit it, but i dont realatively like robs singing style, but it fit amazingly well in with the movie!! it had the dreamy sort of touch (the one i may not have liked at first) that fit perfectly in the reverie moment edward had while he was sucking the venom out of bella.

lets see… the baseball scene was amazingly well done, well coreographed too. lol, i liked the look on jaspers face when he first met balla too, it was the perfect ‘ i wont kill her expression’. same with edward when the fan blew bellas scent toward him in biology. he plugged his nose, and looked like he was gagging!! i was surprised to see how much of the book they put into the movie, as in actual phrases, that was definitely a bonus. Overall, it was a great movie, but it did have its downsides. i dont want to give it 5 *’s right off the bat and seem baised, so ill give it 4 *’s.
Sorry about the long post, theres soo much i want to say!! and keep up the great work with the podcasts, i dont know what id do without your news page!!

Overall, the movie was probably 4 stars. I think that the actors tried their best to portray their version of who the characters truely are. Rob couldnt play a perfect guy the entire movie because edward himself did not think he was perfect at all; he thought he was a monster. Most people who dont like the movie are going to say that he should have been the “macho” guy and the swooning, captivating gentleman that Stephenie writes about. I also think that all of the characters were casted perfectly. However, the movie can come off quite corny at some points and some of Rob’s facial expressions are hilarious. I loved how not only did they try to stay true to the book, but they put a funny twist on it as well. The biology scene when Bella first walks in is HILARIOUS. And can i just say, i love emmett! :
-“I hope she likes Italian”- Esme
    -“Her name is Bella”- Emmett

Of course the movie can not be nearly as good as the book, because lets face it… Stephenie Meyer’s creation is too good to be recreated. So, although i like some parts of the movie, I can always create my own little movie inside my head whenever I am reading the book! :]

hey girls! i would give this movie a 3 and a 1/2 stars….. I will first start with the positive! I loved the chemistry with edward and bella, it seemed right to me, because it was awkward and it was cheesy… but seriously people, when was bella ever not the cheesiest girl in the world!? i also loved the baseball scene, and then alice and emmett really stood out to me i loved loved loved them! they were just right (i loved the part when emmett had the butcher knife!) that was definatley his character! also, i loved how charlie and renee get a little more in the movies, it always confused me how you never got to know them and then bella was always so worried about them, you didnt know why, it was a little strange and i feel like the movie did the part of the parents justice. lastly, for all of the people out there that said they wanted jacob re casted and that taylor could not play the part… you are all wrong. i feel like for the little he did in this movie, he was the dead on jacob i have always loved! now for the not so good things… first off, it was completely rushed, they jumped around and i feel like if you didnt read the book, you would have fallen asleep if it weren’t for jaspers face! also, i feel like the special effects were not so good, but i knew it was a low budget movie and so i was ready for it and hope that they will get better with that as the movies go along, so i wasnt disappointed about that part…. but it did take a little away from the movie. one last thing that i felt was way off was the flow of the movie… that movie did not flow…. i am hoping that those 12 deleted scenes they were telling us about start to fill those gaps! on another note, there were a few random things i liked that i wanted to point out and then a character that surprised me (in a good way). that character was esme….. going into this movie i was like, esme is going to ruin the cullen scene….. i thought she was GREAT. she was more than i ever hoped for from that character and i think she had a very positive effect on the movie. second, something random i liked was the stephenie cameo! omg that really made my day…. the fact that she was in the movie…. the last thing i thought was fanominal was the ending…. i loved the “pretending to bite her” and then their reflection in the water, it is exactly how i always imagined it πŸ™‚ i loved the victoria ending so that people would want to see more! also, and i know this sound weirds, but….. the credits were AMAZING! i loved the black and white pictures and the song (leave out all the rest)….. i loved it and i thought it was great….. this was a great starting point and i am looking forward to sequels that i feel will get better when they get some more money!

It was great! I loved it. Some of it was rushed, and I did notice the Emmett scene was cut, but maybe that was because of the flash backs. It did totally focus on Bella and Edward, so some parts of the book that I liked were cut, like Carlisle’s story. Anyone who has read the books would know that how she got away from Alice and Jasper would not have worked. I loved the fight scene, and the fact that Alice ripped James’ head off, go Alice!!! I really liked Rob’s portrayal of Edward, and Kristen was completely Bella. All of the couples had perfect chemistry, and the baseball scene was awesome. I like how they did Edward’s sparkle, and like The Bourne movies I thought the lower budget special effects were better then those big budget so called blockbusters. They looked more believable to me.

I loved it. I have to admit i was VERY worried about it becasue of all the hype it was getting and even if it was a great movie it wouldn’t live up to the excitement. But I really liked it. I very thankful that they didn’t kill the book like some book-to-movie transaltions do and they kept the lines that worked. I loved the comedy aspected they added espeically Mike’s victory dance. But i think the thing i liked the best was the sparkles. Oh my Jasper! They didn’t it perfestly. It wasn’t blinding which was somthing that was worring to me and it was enough that it would freighten iaregular human walking by. I only have tow negitives and they arn’t that huge. Me being a Jasper freak, it was dissapionting to not have his powers explained but hopfully it will come. And i think Emmett got to lines in the entire movie and the one if the first trailer wasn’t even use (I loved that line). All in all, I am proud to be a twilighter.
Oh! How could i forget!? Kirsten acting at the fight seen was AMAZING! If she could pull of pain that well i can’t wait to see her in New Moon. =]
Love the Podcast. Team Switzerland!! =D

OMFG!!!! JUST CAME FROM WATCHING TWILIGHT!!!! I GOT ADVANCED TICKETS AND I SAW IT WITH MY BESTIES IN THE WORLD!!!! I GIVE THE MOVIE 5*****( YEAH IT WAS THE BEST MOVIE I’VE EVER SEEN THIS YEAR!!!) ROB AND KIRSTEN’S CHEMISTRY WAS SOOOO GOOD AND I HATED KIRSTEN SOO MUCH AND I WAS JEALOUS!!!!

  48. miniMin says:

If I rate Twilight movie, I would give 3*** to be honest and critical

Just like majority of Twilight fans, I went to the midnight one and waited in the line for five hours ( which I have never done before). Of course, I knew that movie won’t be AS GOOD and AWESOME as the book. (this is not just for Twilight but also for other movies that are based on book).
I thought the actors and actresses such as Ashley Green(Alice), Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) and James performed very well. Robert Pattinson (who looked extremely hot in the movie btw) was a little bit stiff. BUT i L-O-V-E-D how he looked in the movie except that sparkling skin scence when he was out in the sun. LOL it looked so fake and cheap.
I KNOW that this movie was low budget, but they could have done some of things so much better such as the famous MEADOW SCENE or PROM SCENE. I LOVEDDDDDDDDDD the Cullens playing baseball. that was so cool πŸ™‚

The book itself has that intense and romantic feelings, but while I was watching the movie for two hours I was laughing the whole time and I felt it was more like a comedy than romance…. When Jacob came out with that long hair, it cracked me up. Also Jasper’s expression was just too funny ( he looked really cute though).
I liked how there were some stuff from the book… like the APPLE scene, Bella saying “About three things I was absolutely positive: * First, Edward was a vampire. * Second, there was a part of him β€” and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be β€” that thirsted for my blood. * And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”

  49. Meg says:

Okay, honestly guys, the movie sucked worse than High School Musical. Really I think they just made it all go to fast and wanted to get everything in wich made the plot kind of walk out the door. Most of the lines were flat and didn’t have the right vibe and Bella wasn’t a very good actress. I know people will probebly hate me for this but it’s just my opinion.
    ~Meg (:

  50. Bagels says:

Before I say what I thought of the movie, can I just say thanks for all the coverage up untill now? It was so cool going to the movie and being like, “hey, I know how they shot that!” So, thanks for everything!
    Now, back to the movie…
That. Was. Amazing. I went into the theatre with low expectations just because I didn’t want to be dissapointed. Oh my god I was so shocked and excited when I came out of the movie. This was something I had been counting down to for the past 6 months but this was more then I could have ever hoped for. I don’t think it was as good as the book, cuz I mean, come on, no one is as good as Stephenie πŸ˜€
I knew how into it everyone was but I just had no idea I would enjoy it that much!! I knew I was gonna love it even if it did suck just cuz it says ‘Twilight’ on the cover πŸ˜€
All I can say now is…
ANYONE WHO HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT MOVIE IS THE BEST PERSON EVER!!!!!!!! OMG THANK U SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
