1. Demi says:

Well besides the squeling girls and the guys hiding their faces with their hoodies it was a pretty good movie. I think they got through the plot to fast and messed up some key moments of Bella and Edward. The the scenes they added were good I thought. I would give it *** stars.

2. Briannah says:

I thought it was really, really good. I read Twilight in March, so I’ve been waiting for the movie since March, too.
My friend [the one who introduced me to the wonderful world of Twilight] and I were eagerly anticipating Breaking Dawn, having fun guessing what was going to happen. It came out, and we were both severly disappointed. Because of this, I wasn’t expecting a fantastic movie. But I was wrong! It was really, really well done! Although they did change a lot of things, and replaced them with other stuff, I think they did it amazingly. The only thing that I didn’t like in it was that they took out the blood-typing scene. A lot of my friends said the meadow scene sucked [in the movie] but I loved it 😀
I give it 4.8 out of 5

3. aimee says:

I’ve already posted once (#52), but a few more things popped into my head. I think it was a mistake leaving out Carlisle’s history. I think that sets up a lot for the next book/movie. And, I feel like if they had expanded the Port Angeles scene a little it would have added more to the romance (and to me, that’s what the story is about). It still really bothers me that a non-reader would have no idea of the depth of their love for each other. If they had extended the Port Angeles scene (and maybe removed the hunting nomad scenes – I didn’t think those really added anything) and added the scene the next day in class where Bella is telling Jessica about her “date”, that would have helped the story along. Bella could have told Jessica how much she cares for Edward, and Edward would be listening. After class is when he tells her (for the first time I think), how much he cares for her. Something like, “do you think that you care more for me than I do for you? You’re wrong.” That to me would at least have shown us the love at first sight intensity of their relationship.

Whew, okay done with the negative. I really did think that all of the actors were great and I’m looking forward to seeing more in New Moon. The director/screenwriter not so much.

4. Amber says:

Overall, I liked it and I would give it 4/5 *’s. A brief breakdown, though:

There were a few aspects of the movie that irritated me. One was the meadow scene. The meadow was SUPPOSED to be something special to Edward. It was SUPPOSED to be his spot, and I think that was a moment that was really important to their relationship’s development because it was him opening up. In the movie, him traveling to the meadow was just a spontaneous decision that he acted on because he was frustrated with how Bella was treating him. It was still a passionate moment, but it was just one of the many things I was nitpicky about.

Another thing that irritated me was their interpretation of his sparkle (which could be argued as the more important part of him opening up, but still…). When I saw it, the first thought that came to mind was that it looked like he was just sweating profusely. After a while of observing it, it looked OKAY, but the sparkles weren’t as fantastic as I imagined, and they didn’t extend beyond his body as much as I expected.

Definitely one thing I was really ANGRY about was that they didn’t explain Carlisle’s background. I liked the flashback’s, and I think the way Carlisle was written and the way Peter portrayed him did a great job of giving the impression that Carlisle was an honest, caring, exemplary individual, but I was so excited to see his history on screen and I was let down.

On the other hand, there were a lot of things I liked. Alice jumping onto James’ shoulders and snapping his neck just took my COMPLETELY by surprise. That is ONE chick that you don’t want to mess with. I LOVEEEEDDD the baseball scene. The field that they were playing in wasn’t large by ANY means (it really wasn’t even medium), but it was cool how they ran through the woods and I loved watching Emmett and Edward slam into each other. I loved the way Laurent, James, and Victoria entered. We’ve seen that scene quite a few times in previews and trailers, but it was AMAZING once the scenes were all strung together. Ummmm… As much as Robert ISN’T my Edward, he REALLY brought on the tears for me during the scene when Edward was sucking out the venom from Bella’s body. Robert’s facial expressions were so great throughout the film (Love the little smile when Jessica says in the cafeteria that there must not be any girl good enough for him.), but he looked especially tortured during that one scene. It broke my heart and I was crying so hard. I also loved the prom. It wasn’t the way it was supposed to be, but I squealed when Jacob showed up. He looked really pretty. 😡 Hehehee. And the way Victoria was watching over them really left the movie open for New Moon.

So all-in-all, it wasn’t as great as the book, but it was still fantastic. I have to agree with Seth on that.

5. Tara K. says:

It was amazing. I would give it 5 stars (10 million if I could). I am a very visual person, and so I really enjoyed seeing the movie. All of the actors did an amazing job, especially Rob, who had to do an American accent. Solomon Trimble also did a great job with Sam’s character. He didn’t have a lot of lines, but hopefully if they make the 2nd movie (which I’ve heard they will) he will bring out Sam’s personality. The movie had a great mix of comedy, romance, action, and a whole bunch of other stuff to make everyone enjoy it in some way or another. I think some people were disappointed with the movie because they went in with expectations like “ok, this, this and this will happen”, or “it’s going to be Twilight the book word for word.”. No. I went in with a clean slate. The movie is BASED on the book, not word for word. I heard that they got an offer to make the movie, but it was going to be NOTHING like the book. This at least had most of the book involved. I really enjoyed seeing scenes with the Nomads hunting. It gave them a larger part in the movie, and not like random people (vampires) coming out of nowhere. We should really give the screenwriter(s) a round of applause because it can’t be easy to turn that large of a book into a 2-hour movie. I was excited to see how they shine in the sunlight. The actors gave their character such depth and really helped me understand them better. The baseball scene was my favorite part. You could really see how they ran, and how fast and hard they hit the balls.
My favorite line:
*Rosalie: “My monkey man”
My favorite scenes:
*When Charlie comes into the hopital and is irritated with Tyler (or whoever almost hit Bella).
*When Emmett and Jasper ride into the school with Emmett standing up.
*When Jessica describes everyone and you know they hear her.
*When Emmett waves the knife when Bella firsts comes to their house.
*Baseball
*When Bella talks about eating disorders, and Jessica has a mouthfull of grapes.
*When Edward tells Bella what everyone is thinking (money, sex, money, sex, money, cat.)
What I didn’t like:
*How into it edward was when he kissed Bella (and what she was wearing!)
*How Edward told him things about himself (ex. how he could read minds at the diner).
*How he never said “I love you” straight out.
Besides that, everyone did a great job!

6. Donna Brown says:

Definately a five. I loved the movie. I felt it followed the book pretty close. The scene of Edward and Bellas first kiss left me weak in the knees. I am definately going to see it again. Can’t wait for the next movie. Awesome!!!!!!!

7. Caroline says:

OMFG!!! I thought it was Amazing!! I saw if twice on opening night. I do think if you haven’t read any off the books you wouldn’t really get some of the jokes. I did though get a little dizzy in some of the sceens. But it is like 4 stars.

8. kylie says:

this movie is THE BEST MOVIE EVER AND EDWARD IS SO HOT ALONG WITH EMMET AND JAMES!!!!

9. Lina says:

hey guys just stopping by to leave a comment. I loved the movie. everyone was absolutely great playing their character. I thought rob and kristen did awesome. They stuck to the story and didn’t leave any major details out. what they did leave out though that I think is important is that bella talks in her sleep, and when edward tells bella about the voulturi. Oh and I seeing stephenie meyer was cool. my friends and I also noticed that there’s a part in a teaser trailer were Emmett was like “this is wrong edward, she’s not one of us” they cut that off of the movie. anyways love the podcast keep up the awesome work.

10. Amber says:

Lina, the last point you made is really good. Lol. I never noticed that. :3 I was so worked up that I missed it.

11. melissa says:

lina, does a point like also there took the site of bella cooking, and like the bed scene in the book where like the eve of bella meeting Edward’s family and they talked about Mind over matter. but overall the movie also was great , but that great. Like I watch something in YOU tube and they were talking about how there aren’t making Twilight the book, but Twilight the movie and there has to change some scene and take out some scene too. But, I love the movie . Yet it felt like i watched the movie like 15 times already because i know what going to happening

12. Roxanne says:

As many of you I had some mixed feelings. Overall, however, I did not leave disapointed.

Loved:
-All the action seens. The Ballet fight, the Baseball game (seeing that on film really made it come to life). The part in the meadow where Edward was running and jumping to scare her. Those were all fun to see because it is hard to imagine while reading.
-Port Angelos scene was fun to watch.
-Loved the human teenagers. There was so much humor there. They acted just like stupid teenagers act (no offense).
-Loved Carlisle (kindness oozed from him).
-Loved Jacob – Taylor Lautner nailed him in the first book. Kind and sweet. He felt real, and Jacob always felt real to me in the books.
-Loved Billy Burke as Charlie. You could definitely tell he is an experienced actor. He was Charlie in this movie. I also loved that he and Kristen Stewart look like each other. I also like to see the relationship between Charlie and Billy, you felt like you were watching best friends.
-Alice was spot on.
-Edward did a good job of portraying the inward strife that Edward had just being with Bella in the beginning.
-James was scarey. He made me nervous, loved that.
-Humor throughout, I didn’t expect that.
-Bella’s awkwardness and clumsiness was well done. It was there but wasn’t over the top. Some people said she was too serious, but that’s how Bella’s character was in the book.

Did not love:
-The Sparkle. I agree, it looked like he was sweating. I know this was hard for them because they didn’t use CGI. I hope if we see this again in future movies, they have the money to make it right.
-The meadow. This was almost missing altogether and was the biggest disapointment of the movie. One of the wonderful things in the book was this scene. How they touched eachother (after wanting to for so long). This is when Edward decided that he had another choice. When he listened to her heart and smelled her neck. It was all so sentual in the book and unfortunately that was just not there.
-The hospitol scene at the end was lacking.
-Did she have to be in her underwear during the kissing scene? Stephanie doesn’t write like that.
-I wished she would have cooked for Charlie more. I know that doesn’t fit in to the norm in the teenage society, I think that is why i missed it. It set Bella apart.
-Felt a little choppy and rushed the first half. I’m not sure if those who see it that have not read the book will sense that.
-I really wanted Bella to cry and have Edward taste her tears during the lullaby. I don’t know why I missed that but I did. It shows in the books the difference between human and vampire. A human wouldn’t do that.
-The close ups made me sea sick at times, but I get why they filmed that way.
-Felt a little corney in spots. I am curious if this was intended or not. It would make me feel better if it was intended.

Overall I was happy about the movie. I am so greatful that they stayed true to the book in most ways. To sum up my feelings, I could not wipe the smile from my face from start to finish. This has been a fun ride.

13. allysa says:

14. Erin Leigh says:

The movie is what it is and I like it for what it is. It wasn’t as good as the book and with that said what film adaptation of a book is ever really as good as the actual book? There were some really good scenes for example the baseball scene was excellent. The music completely made that scene in my opinion. The way the soundtrack was used throughout the movie was genius and I had a great time listening for each song. Ok this might sound weird but I though some of the lines they took from the book should have stayed in the book. Don’t get me wrong SM is a genius and I love her story and every line the characters said fit beautifully in the book but to hear them spoken just didn’t feel right. I kind of had a reaction like “Really? That’s what that sounds like?” But overall I really liked it, for me it was fun seeing one of my favorite books come to life on the big screen and if they do make New Moon into a movie I’m confident that it will be even better.

15. tonia says:

I give it three stars for all the reasons already mentioned. Three stars doesn’t mean I won’t see it again though. I probably will tomorrow. After all, an addiction is an addiction. I just have one idea for Summit for the next movie- there HAS to be a next movie- they should get Alfonso Cuaron to direct. That man knows steamy. I appreciate that Catherine Hardewick is a fan and she only had so much money to work with, but having new directors really helped Harry Potter to improve over time.

16. Laura says:

Don’t wreck it for me! We don’t go to theaters so I will have to wait for the dvd to be released! Ugh! I hope it will be worth the wait! I hear the sparkling scene awful! Why did Stephenie give the rights to a small independent film company! SOME ONE PLEASE PUT IT ON YOUTUBE! PLEASE!

17. Laura says:

Where was Stephenie Meyer’s appearance? In Port Angeles?

18. Laura says:

I miss the count down! What will the fandom do now! Love the podcast! Never stop!

19. Jessica Galvan says:

I thought this movie was great. I didn’t expect it. The special effects were okay. This movie had its pros and cins. But what i didn’t like is that they didn’t even say i love you to eachother plus they should have made it longer. Although i loved this movie and i can’t wait to watch it again. Hopefully they make new moon.

20. Katie says:

5 *****’s!!!!! The movie was amazing!!

Charlie
’nuff said 🙂

21. Macy says:

omg!!!!! AMAAAZINGGGGG!!! you can’t compare it to the book, but it was still a great movie!

22. Jennifer T says:

I saw the movie twice yesterday and it does improve upon second viewing. First viewing 2.5 stars, second 3.0 stars. It appears that the film appeals to it’s target audience, those under 25. Which is great, and hopefully the sequels will be made to give Summit an opportunity to spend more money on the next film. It’s disappointing that the film couldn’t have been more appealing to all of the fan base, meaning those of us over 25. It was painful to watch the scenes that were meant to be serious and had more than half of the theater giggling or in hysterics. I definitely do not recommend anyone over 30 take their male partners (who have not read the book), it will not help your cause in defending your Twilight obsession. I felt the screenplay was very well done, better than I expected; however, the directing was definitely disappointing. Catherine’s enthusiasm for the work did not translate on to the screen as I had expected, and it was extraordinarily SLOW, especially the first viewing. Billy Burke is fantastic as Charlie, Kristen was also much better than expected, she played Bella just as I had pictured her when reading the book. I feel that Rob did the Midnight Sun version of Edward very well (other than the initial reaction in biology- who’s idea was that?- it was terrible). He played the character as awkward and tortured, which is not how Bella *sees* him in Twilight as she is too blinded by his perfection/beauty. Unfortunately the other vampire actors were not so good, which I’m blaming on Catherine’s direction rather than on their acting ability. They also didn’t have enough screen time to prove themselves, but any line Kellan (also my son’s name-therefore I love him) had to deliver was just painful to watch. The last (finally!) comment, is that the movie showed it’s 37 million budget. For me, it looked like it belonged on TV rather than a movie screen, and therefore was missing the ‘magic’ I was really expecting.

23. OME! *****’s!!!! This movie was amazing, incredible, wonderful, stupendous, mind-blowing,etc…….. I can’t get over this movie! I know it had a few scenes that weren’t in the book but.. who cares!!! It was still amazing! I’m just glad the movie was faithful to the book. It got the gist of it. The only thing was that the scenes went by too fast. The movie felt shorter than 2 hrs. I loved the scene where Edward(<3) holds his nose when Bella passes by the fan in Bio. I thought that was hilarious! I LOVED THE MOVIE!!!

24. HannahC says:

**** 4 stars
Heres why:
I loved it, loved it, loved it. I went into expecting it not to be anything like the book at all cause thats what I heard from so many of my friends who saw it at midnight. But, I was so very surprised. I thought it was as close to the book as humanly possible for a $37 million budget movie and being a film adaptation of a 500 page book. There are little things that are different, some of the scenes are out of order and such, but you have to change things to make it movie friendly, and I understand that. There were a couple of moments of less than fantastic acting, but thats to be expected since its a young cast, and honestly some of the scenes in the book are very cheesy and can be hard to make those look good. : ]
I absolutely loved it though. I didn’t want it to be over. As soon as it was I wanted to see it again and again. I became such a fangirl. WIthin the first 30 minutes I became a HUGE Rob fan. He did such a great job of capturing the struggle Edward goes through. I thought Kristin did awesome job with Bella, she made her girl-next-door and believable, and in a lot of ways just how I pictured her.
The rest of the Cullen cast was amazing. I loved how they really got across the point of Rosalie’s dislike for Bella almost immediately. Ashley Greene is perfect as Alice. So are Jackson and Kellan. Of course Lautner was hot and perfectly pulled off Jacob. THe whole cast was awesome.
So overall, I’m guessing you can see I loved it, but it wasn’t perfect, and no adaptation of this book would have been. I cant wait for the other movies. I think the rest of the movies quality will progress as well as the acting and I’m excited to see that.
Everyone should go see this movie. I think any TRUE Twilighter will appreciate it and love it.

25. Alison says:

i LOVED IT!!!!!! I am so happy with the way everyone played their parts. Rob and Kristen were amazing together!!! and something i was not expecting … it was hilarious! Anna Kendrick (jessica) was surprisingly good. In fact all of Bella’s human friends were good. and lets not forget about the Cullens! They didnt have many lines but what they did have was right in character. The interaction between bella and Charlie and Edward and Charlie was exactly like the book and i loved it. Personnally i think the whole falling in love part was rushed but overall i thought it was awesome and i cant wait to see it again (****)

26. Carolyn says:

I would give the movie 3 1/2 stars out of 5, or 7 out of ten. I think that part of the reason people enjoyed it so much is that there was just so much excitement that Twilight became a movie, and people weren’t looking at it analytically. I think that the movie was a little too fast-paced, and rushed from one thing to the next very quickly. For example, it seemed like 7 minutes after the first biology scene with Edward, Bella and Edward were in the meadow together! While I know that they had to cut things for time, there were two things I wish had been kept in the movie. One, when Bella and Edward are at the Cullen’s house for the first time, and Edward tells Bella about Carlisle’s history. That is when we’re first introduced to the Volturi. Second, after Bella and Edward’s “date” when Bella says to Jessica that she cares more for Edward than he does for her, and the whole argument that she and Edward have over it.
Overall, I believe that the cast was extremely well chosen! Some of the characters I thought were hilarious were Justin Chon as Eric (“La Push baby!”), Gil Birmingham as Billy, and Anna Kendrick as Jessica. The actors/actresses I thought were the most perfect for their roles were Michael Welch as Mike, Ashley Greene as Alice, Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Kellan Lutz as Emmett, Nikki Reed as Rosalie (I loved it when she smashed the bowl with salad in it!), Elizabeth Reaser as Esme Billy Burke as Charlie, and Cam Gigandet as James. They were so close to what I pictured and played their characters’ personalities perfectly.
I’m sure a lot of people are wondering ‘What about Edward and Bella? Weren’t they PERFECT?!!’ right now. I had some issues with both of them. Rob Pattinson WAS very good as Edward, but something that bugged me was that when he and Bella are in the woods and she’s telling him that he’s “impossibly fast, and strong” etc., he was so harsh towards her when he said “Say it. Out Loud. Say it.” I was taken aback, because I never really pictured him so intensely cold towards Bella- at that point in the book. As for Bella, I don’t think that she was clumsy enough as Bella. When she fell on her back on the ice was perfect, but there were only one or two moments like that in the whole movie. Honestly, when Edward and Bella were up in the tree, I was waiting for Bella to trip and fall out of the tree, and have Edward save her. It just seemed like such a BELLA thing to do, fall out of a 50 ft. tree.
I did enjoy the movie imensely though, and I do think that New Moon will be better because they will have a larger budget with all the ticket sales. I am worried that they will cut out a lot of important stuff in New Moon, because it is longer than Twilight and look how much was cut out of that movie! Congratulations, Summit Entertainment, and good luck (or should I say break a leg!) on New Moon!

27. sam says:

stephenie meyer was in the diner with bella and her dad..she was at the counter…it was the same scene when mike was shaking his but in the window!!!!

28. Molly says:

I would give the movie * * * * * (5 stars). Immediately after the movie my friends turned to me to ask what I thought, knowing I am a twihard, but I didn’t comment about the movie until the next morning (during my 8:00 College Writing class with 2.5 hours of sleep, I guess thats college) and I realized that I really enjoyed it. I think the kitchen scene where you see the Cullen family together was marvelous. Also I really liked the soundtrack! When I listened to it prior to the movie coming out I did not know how it was going to fit, but it was great. OH!! I loved Stephanie’s cameo! I shouted out THATS STEPHANIE MEYER!! no one else around me knew what I was talking about. I love the podcast! Keep up the great work!

29. Robby says:

After many months of anticipating over the movie with obsessing over details from filming pictures, to special scenes and trailers we got to see in advance, to my short-lived obsession of “looking for that silver volvo” game as I went to school, I somewhat got sick of it all. And I think a couple of my friends and my boyfriend got sick of my excited rants too. By August or so I’ve stopped checking Twilight related websites, or rather I stopped going to them every single day. Don’t get me wrong here, I was still extremely excited for the movie, and once in a while I’ll stumble upon something awesome and I’ll fan girl squeal about it towards people who knows about my guilty pleasure. But overall I just KNEW I would be disappointed in some way. I KNEW the movie had changed scenes and added scenes. I just KNEW the movie will never be good as the book (not that Catherine is a bad director or anything, this opinion is based upon the many book-adapted movies).

So by the time the number of days decreased to just only one week before the movie came out, I was restlessly excited and I was extremely prepared to not nitpick at the littlest details (like how the trip to La Push was on a rainy day instead of a sunny one like in the book – I was thoroughly annoyed when I first found out earlier this year). I was however, prepared to be ticked off if characters’ personalities were changed or were not satisfying to my tastes (LOL), and prepared at the possibility of hearing fangirly screams DURING the movie (I was totally devastated at that thought, I really didn’t want to hear anything).

So I arrived at the theater with my boyfriend at 4:00 for our 6:30 showtime (previously I wanted to go there 3-5 hours before XD), after asking a person who worked at the theater, we decided to come back to line up at 5; we figured that that should be enough time for the crazy line up. So we spent one hour in a coffee chop in a nearby bookstore.

Much to my little disappointment, when we got to the theater at 5, there was already a line-up, I wasn’t surprised though, but I was still a little disappointed. Overall it wasn’t so bad since we were in the second line. So we spent the next hour and a half watching videos on my boyrfriend’s iphone, once in a while we’ll look up because we’ll hear random fangirly screams (my boyfriend and I exchange nervous glances at each other each time, because we knew we would be hearing those painful screams during the movie).

When the time finally came, the only thing in my mind was GET GOOD SEATS. As soon as we both got in, all I saw were girls RUNNING to seats (I’m not kidding, it was a stampede of girls!!). In the end, we didn’t get the middle seats (*sad face*), but we were pretty high and the angle wasn’t bad at all, it actually didn’t feel like I was sitting at the side.

In conclusion, I was pleased with how the movie turned out, I truly am (I think my constant downplay of this movie made the movie much better than I thought it would be)! And I know I never liked the idea of watching the same movie twice (I think it’s a waste of movie regardless of how good a movie is), but I think I’m quite tempted to go watch the movie again!

My score is 3.75/5. I’m not going to nitpick at the details (I could :P!), but I think the biggest disappointment for me were characters. And I don’t mean the acting, I was really impressed by all of the Cullens’ acting (especially Rosalie – and I was actually nervous that she wasn’t going to be a good portrayal), what I’m really disappointed is how little focus and possibly the screentime the Culltens got (it even feels like the nomads got more screen time – which might be an exaggeration).

I really didn’t like the lack of connection I felt for the Cullens especially Alice! (is it just me or did they cut out her past?!) If this is how it’s going to be in the future movies (if there are going to be any I mean), I would be really unhappy. I don’t care if they are going to lamely say how there are take-outs in the DVD! Besides the obviously romantic relationship between Bella and Edward, the other thing I love about the Twilight series are the characters, how real they are and how connected I feel to each of them. If they ever make future movies, please goddammit, PLEASE don’t do that ever again.

The pace of the movie, as a lot of people might have mentioned, was a little rush in terms of the comparison between the book and movie. Of course this is going to happen, there are so many things that happened and there is a limited amount of time. In terms of the movie ITSELF I thought the beginning half was actually SLOW. Normally movies are face paced, so when I noticed this (I actually love these type of slow paced movies), I thought “Aww man, my boyfriend must be bored LOL, poor guy”. I really enjoyed the effort that was made to show the slow but sweet relationship developing between Bella and Edward.

There is so much more I can talk about this movie, but I think my comment is already long enough…but before I leave, I MUST give my two cents rant about my other HUGE disappointment: the screaming.

I know I expected the screaming, but really girls, is it necessary? I was really REALLY PISSED OFF. And I’m not the only one actually. The movie theater was composed of three types of people. There are the silent ones, there are the screaming ones, and there are the PISSED SOMETIMES SILENT BUT SOMETIMES YELLING OUT “SHUT UP!!!” and “SHHH” ones. I appreciated the third type of people (I was the first type, although I was REALLY tempted to join in and yell out SHUT UP *#@$(@%!!) I know people are excited, and I really don’t mind if people scream a few times. But it got to the point that girls screamed at the littlest thing or at the most unnecessary moments of the movie. It really ruined my experience. Some parts of the movie were ruined because I literally couldn’t hear the dialogue or the “moment/atmosphere” in the movie was disturbed (you know..those pivotal silent with a few lines moments). There were moments when I really wanted to cry out of anger and frustration. I waited for one year for THIS? This is just absurd!

Really Screaming Girls, can’t you guys be mature about this? Grow up please, or atleast respect other people who actually want to enjoy the movie in peace and quiet (like what you’re supposed to do when you watch a movie), scream all you want at random events regarding the book/movie or when you have the DVD and you can scream in your own living rooms.

The screaming made me regret the choice of the timeslot. If it wasn’t for my boyfriend who had a class in the morning, I would’ve chosen a much earlier time like 11-12 when high school students are still in school (assuming that the screaming girls are all composed of high schoolers – of course there were many high schoolers who were mature enough to not scream too) since I have no classes on Fridays. And I think I’ll do just that if another movie comes out.

I was really disappointed with the screaming 🙁

Okay! I think that’s enough, I apologize for leaving such a long comment! This is actually my first time leaving a comment/reply here (even though I’ve followed this website for a long time)

Please keep up the great work Kassie and Kallie!! I love you guys!! Thank you to everyone else who makes this website one of the best Twilight sties ever :)!!

I GIVE IT INFINITEE STARSSS!!!!!! I THOUGHT IT WASSSS AMAZINGGG!!!

31. Brandi says:

O my goodness!!!!!!!!! The movie was awesome. I loved the way that it paralleled the books. I really liked how there was very little changes and that the changes that they did make helped the story evolve. I would give it 5*s. So Awesome!

32. Stella says:

I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5. I agree that it was rushed, but with the low budget and time constraints, it had to be done. I wasn’t too impressed with the sunlight scene, felt that should have had more meaning. I thought Rob and Kristen were perfect! The “Bella moments” were well played (if played at all. Kristen tripping looked real, not fake!) I am totally Team Carlisle/Team Emmett now. Didn’t feel passionately towards them in the books, but now LOVE them! Some (especially the group of moms I went with) had a problem with Edward looking like he was going to vomit at the smell of her scent, but I thought it was very appropriate. I had to chuckle. Never thought of it that way. But think of it like this….you get sick on some food, swear it off, then one wiff and you’re heading to the toilet/garbage can…whatever is available! I do love the twist at the end. They will definitely have to make a sequel. I hope they give New Moon a bigger budget.

Keep perspective. As an adult, you expect more. You have more life experience. Rob is an amazing actor, but he can’t fit 107 years of immortal experience into his short 22 years of life. I am 32 (OME!) and don’t have enough life experience to feel the undying passion for someone not related to me. My husband, yes. My children, yes. But not some person whose blood “sings” to me! Hehe.

The story followed the book, closely I might add. I am pleased that they included the Port Angeles scene. I didn’t think they could have the movie without that!

On another note, I love y’all and your show. I have only been listening for a couple of months, but I feel like I know y’all. Haven’t gotten to listen to the podcast from last week, but I hope you loved the movie as well.
TEAM CARLISLE!!!!! PUT NEW MOON IN PRE-PRODUCTION ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

33. Jordyn says:

I really liked the movie!!!!! im getting angry at all the people who said it sucked because i really don’t think it did. The acting was phonomenal from most of the character. Especially rob, i didn’t really know how hed do at first but he really got the character down pat, and Charlie. one of my fav parts is when he had the gun when he first met edward. “Send him in!” haha. 8 ] The film really parralled to the books except that for a few minor changes which still make the movie great.
Now the cons (duh duh duhhh…)
The graphics were extremely cheezy. the glittering looked like sweat and the running just looked plain fake. I also would have liked to see more of how obsessed Bella really was with Edward. I didn’t even catch the chemistry until later in the movie. Sure it was awkward but maybe a little too much so. They also missed a few things that people who hadn’t read the books wouldn’t understand. For instance, when Bella first walked into the biology room and edward covered his nose and like freaked out. They also forgot to mention Jasper’s power from what i can remember.
Overall id give it 4 stars. Sure theres room for improvement but it was better than i thought it would be. Sorry this is so long im just a super obsessive twihard that must give her opinion. Love the podcast!!!!!!!!

34. Courtney says:

I give this movie a positive 5 stars(*****)!!! It wasn’t as good as the book I’ll say that cause you couldn’t really feel the love between Edward and Bella….I loved Alice and Jasper’s relationship however and Emmett is such a HOTTIE!!!! I loved the movie and I am seeing it again today!!! This is without a doubt one of the best movies ever!!! Twilight will always be popular!!!! Team Cullen Vampire Guys!!! Enough said!!!!!!

35. Jasmine says:

IT WAS THE BEST MOVIE I’VE EVEN SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!! MAKE THAT THE BEST MOVIE THAT EXISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was soooo good! No words can explain how good it was!!!! OME!!! LOVE IT!!!! AHHHH!! The only time people screamed was right before it started and when we saw the Cullens for the first time in the Cafeteria!!!! I was like hyperventilating!!! I’m sooooo sad it’s over!!!! And ppl we’re laughing a lot at the funny parts!!! LOL!!! I love it when Charlie’s like “Bring him in.” And he snaps his gun!!! LOL!!! It’s hilarious!!! OME, I’m sooo happy the fight scene wasn’t babyish it was actually really gory!!!! Even I was shuddering!!! Especially when James steps on her leg and it sounds sooo real even when she’s screaming!!!! The kiss was sooooo HOT!!!!!! OME!!! I love it when their just really getting into it then he jumps at the other side of the room!!! God dammit, why is it finished now?!?!? ~tears!~ Now I REALLY want New Moon!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m actually really depressed now!!! LOL!! It was WAY to good!!!! Cuz now we’re all stuck being even more obsessed!!!!! LOL!!

36. Samantha says:

I Loved that movie! It gets ***** stars all the way. Robert Pattinson did a great job as Edward. There were some diffrences in the movie from the book, for instance the Cullen’s house was supposed to be white, but Im not complaining! LOVE X 1000 that movie. GO TEAM EDWARD!!

37. McKell says:

Okay, the movie i thought, was so great. Alot of people i talked to weren’t happy about it, but i was hyperventilating the whole time. I loved how funny it was. The novel always seemed very funny to me, but seeing it come to life in theaters was just surreal 🙂 When they first announced that Kristen Stewart was going to be Bella, i didn’t like her. Going into the movie, i didn’t think i liked her. But all i can say is, i don’t know of anyone else who could have portrayed Bella so well. The whole cast was amazing, i just loved every second of it 🙂

38. bernie says:

I really enjoyed the movie ^.^
I can’t wait to buy it on DVD!!

39. Krissa says:

I really liked the movie. I thought they did a great job in following with the book. I think it moved really fast and so for those who did not read the book may be a little lost. THe only thing I would change is that they were zoomed in on the faces all the time. I wish that they would have zoomed out for some of it. Overall I think they did great. The casting was perfect and I just left wanting to see more of the characters so I am super excited that they are moving ahead and making New Moon.
Love the podcast! You guys are great!

HOLY F–ING CROW!!!!!!!!!!*note major spoilers towards ending!
I LOVED EVERYTHHING but……….the end!
WHAT THE FLY VAMPIRE! Victoria! OMV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE END WAS OMV! How didn’t the Cullens’ not smell her??? HELLO!
YOU CAN’T MASK A SCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the only thing i didn’t like but i loved how the had you sitting at the edge of your seat and see her there.
<3 I love our fandom!

41. Katie says:

Twilight was just an utter disapointment.

I mean, the acting was off, scenes were rushed and changed, scenes were left out, they added stupid hollywood vampire crap. They changed too much and left out too much.

They had extremely high expeectations to fill and they FAILED.
You didn’t feel any love between Bella and Edward, like at all.
I understand that they would change some things because it is a movie, but com’on they just made it a ridulous, silly, teeny film.

Teenage girls [12-15] will probably like it.
Anyone of the age of 15 will most likely find it ridulous, especially if you’ve read teh book.

And I’m sorry but what the hello was up with the underwear scene?!?
Some of the actors didn’t fit, Eric, Mike was plain annoying, Edward and Bella’s “chemistry” wasn’t as “gripping” as all the hype said it would be.

THIS MOVIE WAS A COMPLETE DISSAPPOINTMENT AND LET DOWN TO TWILIGHT FANS!!
6/7 out of 10

Where was stephanie meyer throughout the film? did she really think that this was a good movie?
I can’t believe she let the director and screenwritter completely ruein the movie.

UGHHHHH

WAIT FOR THE DVD!!!

42. Jordan says:

Warning Really, Really Long: I’ll post this on the Lexicon later
Rating:
Because I read the book: B+ Comparing it to other films and if I hadn’t read the book: C- or D..
Acting:
I thought everybody they casted was amazing from Jessica, to Mike to Billy to Bella and Edward all the actors were amazing Plot and Flow: Because I read the book I was able to understand why Edward was staring weird and why Billy doesn’t like Edward. If I hadn’t read the book i would have been (like my mom) TOTALLY confused. The movie went way to fast and they did not explain anything so that the nonreaders could understand. Bella and Edward had like no dialogue( which would have explained their relationship soo much better, ESPECIALLY the weird staring throughout the whole film) between them at all other than when Edward was telling her that he couldn’t be with her and when they fell in love(all of a sudden).
Things that I noticed that others might not have:
-They NEVER explained Jaspers power
-Edward never said that he didn’t like Billy or Jacob other than by the weird staring between them( even though I understood the point of the staring non readers did not)
-Bella and Edward never said I love you flat out
-The Vamps NEVER showed their teeth other than obviously when they were talking, but never to frighten any1 I mean I know they don’t have fangs but they DO have sharp shiny whit venom coated teeth which are still frightening …speaking of fangs….did Bella ever ask if they had any?
– They barely kissed (even though the bedroom kissing scene was Ah-mazing)
-Bella never found out the meaning behind Edwards “hunting trips” other than they couldn’t come out in the sun, or maybe she did find out in the movie and I just don’t remember Edward telling her…
– Edward didn’t explain to Bella why his family was so mad at him
-They never explained how old they were, I mean Bella didn’t even ask?! c’mon they could have left that into the movie
-When Jake at the end came to the prom he said Billy paid him 20 bucks to go talk to Bella to tell her his warning, he said 20 bucks not a new car cylinder so that make me wonder If in the next movie their going to show how Jacob is really in to cars or how he makes his Rabbit, which is something I actually like about Jake
– Jasper had like no lines other than just standing there looking in pain( which was funny)
– Summit released every scene through interview and press stops, I had literally scene every scene either through pictures or video
-They never explained or even brought up the Cullen crest so it made it seem unnecessary to have it added to the movie at all
-In the first teaser trailer Emmet has this line like “Edward she’s not one us” I don’t remember him saying that in the movie at all which would have made since to keep in because it would have somewhat explained (at least more if they did) why the reason why the family was mad at Edward
-This is little but I didn’t think the waiter at the restaurant, when Bella and Edward went out on a date, was pretty
Big Disappointments:
-They mad Edward seem like he was like a stocker and really creepy esp. with the whole staring bit in the Biology room( I mean I thought that was supposed to be a more serious scene and a tad bit scary since he wants to kill her not comedy. The whole theater was laughing every time he started staring weird)
-Edward looked like the overlay obsessed not so much Bella
– Bella(since they did make Kristen do voice overs ) did not emphasize at all or talk about(or think) that he was like the perfect guy from the way he looks to the way he acts she just fell in love with him all of a sudden without any explanation of why she was in love with him
-Decode by Paramore(my favorite band) was barely in the movie and I can’t remember if “I caught myself” was even in the movie at all….
-There was no build up to there relationship
-The STARING—omg that was the most annoying thing, especially since I am a huge fan of the book it was really annoying have to explain to non readers why he was staring at her crazy since they didn’t explain how he was fighting the erg to drink her blood and be with her at the same time. My non reader friends and my mom were completely confused the whole time and instead of falling in love with Edward they thought he was a complete Creeper, I was very upset.
-Edward could have been less serious( I mean I know I wasn’t the only one about to think that he was about to burst out in tears every scene) and I would like to see him act more like a smartass that I know he is when he’s not around Bella
-It would have been have been nice to be at least surprised to see one scene in that movie or when they showed Stephenie(Gee Thanks so much MTV)
-I pretty much blame the screen writer for why I would give this movie a C the dialogue was horrible and there wasn’t enough between Bella and Edward. It was also to cheesy in some parts….
What I like about the movie:
-Baseball scene hell yea! That was Ah-mazing so should have been longer
– All the bad vamps love Rachell,Edi, and Cam(sexy beast)
-LOVED Robert I thought he was phenomenal even though they screwed his character up. And where they placed his music in the movie is very good I thought his music was the best on the soundtrack other than Paramore
– The Humans were awesome loved Mike/Mike and Jessica omg she was hilarious
-Kristen was amazing, but I already knew she was going to be amazing to me simply because she was the person I pictured in my head for Bella b4 she was casted for the movie
-The Scenery: Forks itself is beautiful, the rain, the lake, Robert in the rain…., the cullens and bella’s house. O and in the Cullen’s house I thought it was funny when Edward showed Bella their artwork graduation hats, it was the only thing that brought up their age..
-BILLY, BILLY, BILLY BURKE OMG he made Charlie my favorite character
– Taylor did wayyyy better than I thought he would even though I still hate his hair, also Billy Black was good to he looked exactly the same way he looked in my head reading
-I loved all the Cullen they couldn’t have casted them better
-Peter as Carlisle is soo sexy
The scenes they added and took out:
Overall I like the scenes they added. I understand why they took out scenes from the book, because honestly if they would have made the movies word for word exactly like the book it would had been a snooze fest. I not that mad about the meadow scene being pretty much cut from the whole film since obviously they were limited on time. I do wish they would have kept at least some part of Carlisle back story in the movie especially the painting of the Volturi because, like the wolves and Victoria at the end of the movie, it would have transcended of foreshadowed what’s to come of them in new moon and it would have been nice to at least bring attention to them for the readers. I loved the extra scenes with the bad vamps that were cool. I would have like to see like a Midnight Sun type of scene just being able to see the Cullen’s interact with one another without any humans around, like maybe they could have done a scene with them hunting or something.
Timing:
I though the movie was really rushed but that’s probably due to the lack of money.
Bringing my review to a close:
I liked the movie overall since I am a fanatic reader and I understood it. If I was not a reader and I had just found out about this series I would not have liked this movie not because of the acting but because of the script. I will go see this movie again and encourage others to go see it because I really want Summit to get 150 mil in the bag so they can make the other films. I especially hope that when they make New Moon they have enough money for all the action (and not just bad wire work) to make the werewolf’s almost look real and to make it longer than two hours exactly. I really love this series and I hope the other films will blow me away because Twilight didn’t do the job.

43. Katie says:

I would give it 4 out of 5 *s because I honestly did love it. What surprises me is how people thought the sparkling looked like sweat. Really? When I saw the movie in the theater here it looked like diamond studded flesh. My best friend and I were joking that we wished we were in Forks so that we could take Edward and sell his skin on eBay for profit. 😛

I got an e-mail from Summit and in it Kristen and Rob thank the fans for coming to the theaters and supporting them and the film and announced that Summit informed them that they will be shooting New Moon soon. Which I think is great but I hope they make enough money off of Twilight so that they can have a long movie with better special effects.

I think if you go in thinking that the movie will be exactly like the book then you will be sadly disappointed but if you go in with an open mind and know that it isn’t going to be just like the book then you have nothing to worry about. For 2 hours you get to enter a world where vampires and werewolves exist. I personally loved that even though the Cullen’s didn’t have a lot of lines or scenes, there was a lot of Alice being seen in the back of various scenes school scenes looking at Bella. Hehe…

Even with all its minute flaws in the movie I don’t think it was as bad as a lot of people are trying to make it out to be. I think some people were either disappointed that it wasn’t exactly like the book or that they didn’t hear Edward proclaim to Bella that he loved her straight out. Something that was pretty much implied from the moment the ‘so lion fell in love with the lamb line’ slipped from Edward’s lips. Implied in the fact that he tells her he can’t bring himself to stay away from her any longer because she was like a drug to him.

The movie isn’t the book and as long as you keep that fact in mind while watching the movie you are bound to have a great time. I think a lot of people psyched themselves up about it the way they did with Breaking Dawn and because the movie could not live up to their massive expectations, they didn’t care for it. That’s just how I see things and if I have offended anyone with my comments then I am sorry.

The book I am looking forward to them bringing to life is Eclipse. That book was hot and hopefully by the time they get around to shooting that scene the budget will be even larger, so that the movie will be far longer than 2 hours. That and there is a lot of Cullen interaction within that book unlike Twilight and New Moon.

44. Haley says:

Okay, let me just say here. i AM biased. i am so obsessed, it’s not even funny. but i tried to keep my expectations low entering the theater, just cause i knew i would somehow be disappointed.

i wasn’t. oh my Lord. *swoons* i thought it was great!! there were only a couple of nitpicky Twilighter things i disliked, such as how Edward and Bella never once said “I love you,” the lack of kissing (although the one in the bedroom was amazing and just like i pictured it), the minimal roles of the other Cullens, the cut blood-typing scene, the rushed feeling (i mean, he’s glaring at her in bio, then he’s taking her to the meadow???) and the lack of sparkling in the meadow.

but as for the good things, Kellan, Jackson, Peter, Taylor, and Cam were perfect. (the part where Emmett is cutting the meat then Bella comes in and Emmett waves the knife and goes, “Hi Bella!” was hysterical!) i’ve never been much of a Team Edward girl, i’m Kallie’s Switzerland, but the movie made me fall in love with Edward all over again. the sparkle effect, in my opinion, was EXACTLY how i pictured it. it did seem cheesy, but i’ll blame it on Catherine’s low budget. i was amazed at all the actors’ work, especially Rachelle’s, and i’m excited to see her as Victoria in New Moon (yay!! New Moon!) and hopefully, Eclipse. Rob and Kristen had better chemistry then portrayed in the trailers.

did anyone else hear “La Traviata”? when i bought the CD (“La Traviata” was an iTunes bonus track), i was like, wat’s this crazy opera track doing here? i totally laughed!! but i was a little disappointed that “Decode” wasn’t actually in the film, but i heard “I Caught Myself” in Port Angeles. and putting “Supermassive Black Hole” in the baseball scene was a really good choice.

i tried to limit myself here, but i failed! oh well. out of 5 stars, i give ****. love the podcast (sucking up alert!)

peace, love, and Twilight
Haley

45. Ome!(oh my edward) The movie was so great! I give it…… ***** 5 *’s! Edward was soooooooooo hot. And so was Emmett in the baseball scene. It went really fast because i didn’t want it to end. I coun’t have imagined it being portrayed any better. I,however, will always faithfully on EDWARDS team. Edward in the sunlight was so not cheesy. I can’t believe you people gave it bad reviews! Edward was funny too. I was just watching An interview w/ him and it sounds incredibly weird when he uses his accent. Anyway, keep on podcasting, kallie, kassie&Lindsay! -HANADI CULLEN

46. Bagels are hip says:

I give it 4 *’s. I really thought that the movie would be AWFUL but it actually turned out incredible. Although it was really good, I thought it was REALLY rushed, and they didn’t pronounce the key things. They didn’t say “dazzle.” That made me really disappointed. They didn’t extent the meadow scene. It wasn’t how I pictures the meadow scene. Edward was supposed to be sparkling in the meadow, with his shirt off, closing his eyes. In the movie, he wasn’t sparkling, his shirt was on, and he was looking at Bella. That sorta disappointed me. There were some really funny parts, “sex, money, sex, money…cat..?” HAHAHA I laughed so hard at that part. And then there were the romantic parts… And the intense parts… and all the other parts that made the movie that much more incredible.

47. Bagels are hip says:

48. Madison Team Edward and Alice says:

I loved the movie,Everyone did an excellent job portraying their charachters, and Rob and Kristen had some very good chemestry.I think they chose the perfect person to play each charachter, and they kept the book and the movie alike,I think the biology scene, prom, fight, and baseball scene,oh and meadowish scene were the best

Keep up the podcast,

Madison

49. THE MOVIE WAS STINKING AWESOME! ha ha

50. I would of liked to see the part where emmett said Quote,”This is wrong Edward. She’s not one of us!”
