Staffer Book Recommendations II
Jan 8th, 2009 | By Alex | Category: Book News, Fandom, Featured ArticlesHey, the staffer that is recommending a book for the month of January. So when I told Kallie that she is going to have to givea book recommendations, this is the responce that I got!
Kallie Mathews gave 5 stars to: Outlander (Outlander, Book 1) by Diana Gabaldon
bookshelves: currently-readingOk… so I am a little over halfway through and LOVE IT! I can’t believe there is still more to read… this book is HUGE!
With that responce, I am guessing that this book is GREAT!
Here is the AMAZON summary!
In Outlander, a 600-page time-travel romance, strong-willed and sensual Claire Randall leads a double life with a husband in one century, and a lover in another. Torn between fidelity and desire, she struggles to understand the pure intent of her heart. But don’t let the number of pages and the Scottish dialect scare you. It’s one of the fastest reads you’ll have in your library. While on her second honeymoon in the British Isles, Claire touches a boulder that hurls her back in time to the forbidden Castle Leoch with the MacKenzie clan. Not understanding the forces that brought her there, she becomes ensnared in life-threatening situations with a Scots warrior named James Fraser. But it isn’t all spies and drudgery that she must endure. For amid her new surroundings and the terrors she faces, she is lured into love and passion like she’s never known before.
Thanks, keep the recommendation coming!!!!

cool ill have to check it out thn!
For a book reccomendation I have a book called “Kissed By an Angel” By Elizabeth Chandler. This book is amazing!! It is actually 3 books in one and is one of the sweetest books I have ever read and the suspense is unreal! Im not good at giving summaries because I normally give it away but it is amazing!! I reccomend ALL TWILIGHT FANS READING IT!
Can I read “Outlander”? I’m about to turn 16 and I’m very strict with what I read
@Chii: Maybe wait a few years….there are some steamy scenes…(although I read the german translation, I’m sure the original is as steamy as “my version”)
Outlander is actually the first of a series of at least six? books. I read the first ones almost 5 years ago and Jamie was my first “book-crush” *blush* I had to wait almost 3 months for the third book because they were so popular, the library gave them out with 2-week-return instead of 4… that was just crazy… But I also love the books!!! And when you have read all of them, there’s also at least one book focussing on a character from later on, Lord John. But he doesn’t appear until the third book.
I must agree with Elliot to wait a few years. There is also a lot of language. It’s very descriptive in its love scenes as well. A wonderful story though. I loooooove Jamie Frasier. Soooo swoon worthy.
Sounds amazing. Definitely going to check it out. Read Gone with the Wind. AMAZING.
does anyone know when will the twilight saga offical guide book come out?
OMG! InkHeart/InkSpell/InkDeath…If you love books about books, magic, and amazingness this is SOO THE BOOK SERIES FOR YOU! I just finished InkHeart one word…AMAZING! Not as good as Twilight but still really really reallly goood!
@Eliot: oh,alright…thanks! ^-^
I LOVE THESE BOOKS. I became addicted to them years ago and they have a fond place in my heart. The character’s are amazing. (I love Jamie and Claire!) And there are six of them so far in the series, real door stopper books like Twilight. This is a series you can definitely get lost in, and the story just gets better and better with each book.
This is absolutely adult reading, there is a lot of really good sass, if you know what I mean, and some violence. I have read them each multiple times and each time I get more out of the story just like Twilight, there is hidden goodness to be found.
Drums of Autumn (book four) is probably my favorite for reasons I can’t say (spoiler).
These books changed my life, a must read.
