My agent heard from Summit Entertainment today that I will not be reprising the role of Sam in “New Moon.” While I will cherish the experience of being involved in the first film, I am looking forward to many new opportunities in the future and would like to thank everyone for their support.
Noooooo! That sucks, I liked Solomon in the like 2 seconds he was on screen. But seriously he was so cool in all the interviews and everything, I was really looking foward to seeing him as Sam. 🙁

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Solomon was great. He did so much research about Quiluetes. I was so excited for him to be Sam. Whoever is replacing him is going to have some big shoes to fill. I just know there are going to be a lot of angry fans!
I never really pictured him as sam so im really interested to see who plays sam now!!
I agree Harley. Nice as he was in all the interviews and stuff, he just never seemed like Sam to me. Looking forward to them revealing who is going to play Sam now.

So Sad… after his interview I really liked him and was hoping he would have the chance to continue….I like the idea of having unknown actors getting roles that will push their career forward.. SUCKS ROCKS..

I did like Solomon as Sam, especially the authenticity that he put into the character. Also, props for all the of the research he put into the roll. This is just another problem with changing directors so often.
I do have to say, if they give the Sam role to that Michael Capon guy, I will have to throw a Bella worthy fit!

Sounds bad but I didnt really have that much love for him as Sam, but I did really like him as a person. He should have been given a chance to prove he could play him!
Oh drat! I really liked him! Especially in the tst interview! I hope more great opportunities come his way, and that he is happy with whats happening 🙂

Come on now…. well that’s a huge downer for the day. He seemed like such a genuine person in the interviews, and a really nice guy. I hate to see this happen to him because I truly believe he really wanted this, I LOVED the authenticity he brought to the role. I’m sure he would have been great if given the chance! I’m curious what Chris and Summet will have to say about this one. As evident to the majority of the posts so far, the Twilight fan base will not agree with this decision.

I love how everyones talking about how much authenticity he brought to the role. He was on screen for maybe 10 seconds, and you never even heard said it was Sam. I didn’t really care for him, his blank stare and tone weren’t as dramatic as he was trying for. Plus like the Taylor argument, he’s too small to play Sam. The wolves are supposed to be these muscle-y ( can’t find the right word here) men, and as great a guy as Solomon is, i just don’t think he fits the bill.
i know everyone likes the guy cause hes nice, but didnt he say he never acted? its one thing to say one line in twilight and another to be Sam in the next three films. He really might not be a strong enough actor yet, if that is the case then its a good thing they are replaceing him.
PS, ,maybe its becasue he didnt want to cut his hair? it was a big thing in the book that they all cut the hair off and i know he was really iffy about doing it in the interview.
Absolute crap! I am sick and tired of all this casting BS. Solomon is so cool and really enjoyed the role and he did great with what he had to work with. So we lose a great guy and what? We get a bunch of popular teeny boopers instead.
For the people who are saying he was only in for a few seconds and whatever…the point IS that recasting him now is stupid. They shouldn’t have rushed Twilight until they figured out casting problems for New Moon. If he wasn’t going to fit New Moon, then they shouldn’t have casted him.

Heather D. You have a point, but also at the same time, they didn’t know if New Moon was even going to happen so worrying about casting for it wouldn’t have been wise. But neither is recasting…Summit just doesn’t seem to be on the ball when it comes to New Moon and what the fans want…

If that is true that is quite sad indeed! At first i wasn’t to sure about him as Sam. But now after seeing the movie almost a dozen times, and watching like every single one of his interviews, I don’t think I could see anyone else as Sam!! I really hope this isn’t true!! 🙁

you know, im seriously okay with this. i never thought he looked like sam anyways and technically, i dont think he even introduced himself as sam in the first movie. so its kinda open anyways right?
yeah, it never said in the movie he was “sam” he was just some quluete boy, so it doesnt hurt me so much, I mean I love solomon, he’s terrific but ya know he really didnt pack on the muscle or anything like taylor did, and they are looking for musclcular actors for the werewolves…that was the issue with taylor, and probably the one with sam too.

Emily, i agree, they should have let him play another character at least. They must have someone else either cast or at least almost cast, because they are going to run out of time. I’m mean the movie comes out in like 9 months and we hardly have any new cast information.

I hate when they re-cast. As far as I know, Krys isn’t Embry anymore either. Can’t say for sure, but I heard this was the case.
