Did They Get The New Moon Cast Right?

Entertainment Weekly poses this question to Twilight fans: Did they get the New Moon cast right? What do you think?

I myself so far am VERY dissapointed with Chris Weltz work…….. I don’t like any of the cast, only dakota as Jane a little bit!!! I think they did NOT get the cast right at ALL!!!!!!!!! I really wanted Lucy Hale to be Jane! She would’ve been awesome!! I nearly DIED when I heard Vanessa Hudgens might play Leah!! At least chris had enough sense to not cast her….
i think the only people that FIT their characters are Alex Meraz, the guy who plays Harry Clearwater, the girl who plays Emily, and yeah,
but hopefully in the movie they will change my mind
like when i heard rob was going to be edward i was shocked and disappoointed but after the movie i feel that he did a great job
so i guess we’ll have to wait and see how these people do
I like whole cast. I think they all work with what part they are playing. I haven’t see any of them act so I don’t know if they are good at what they do but so far I am happy with what Chris Weltz has done. My only request is they him to show Edwards sweeter and happy side more. Edward was a little to dark in Twilight.
i dont think edward will be too happy in new moon..i mean he leaves and u dont see him until the end where he’s all dark with the volturi

I really like the whole cast. I mean, I actually had a hard time visualizing the Volturi, so it didn’t matter to me who they picked. I’m really excited to see Dakota as Jane.
I really like the cast. I don’t exactly understand why the person they cast as Caius is so much younger than the rest of the Volturi family, but I honestly don’t remember anything in New Moon that indicated what age each member was supposed to seem. If you saw Frost/Nixon, then you know that Michael Sheen can pull off that ‘happy-go-lucky’ attitude while still being crafty, clever, and manipulative underneath. And the guy they cast as Marcus looks like he can definitely pull of in-cre-di-bly bored and apethetic. I think that Cameron is a perfect compliment to Dakota as Jane; they got Felix right; Demetri looks like a bastard; and Noor looks like gorgeous human bait! I’m very interested in seeing how the wolves turn out. Alex Meraz has looked like he’s really going to do Paul justice from the recent interviews he’s given. He looks like the type to go from zero to pissed in 1 second flat.
Also, I desperately hope that the unconfirmed reports about the proposal scene are true. I was soooo afraid they were going to leave it out but it’s so important to the audience being able to forgive Edward for leaving Bella that you can’t leave it out. Not to mention how important it is to the plot (tension-wise) in Eclipse.
Things I want to see in New Moon
– Carlisle explaining about Edward’s concerns over his soul
– All of Chapter 3 (I still, even after 100 reads, can’t read the words without sobbing.)
– Jacob & Bella & motorcycles
– Jacob telling Bella how terrified he is about Sam’s gang
– Laurent & the Wolves in the Meadow
– Jacob trying to help Bella figure out that he’s a werewolf
– Jacob defending Bella from Paul
– Bella cliff diving (duh!) and Jacob saving her
– Alice asking Charlie how bad it was when they left
– Alice stealing the porsche
– Jane demonstrating why she has such respect from everyone
– Edward trying to convince Bella she isn’t dead/dreaming
– The Vote
– The Propsal
And the lines:
– Could you… well, try to not be a… werewolf?
– Well, the wolf’s out of the bag now.
– I bet she’s tougher than that. She runs with vampires.
– Danger magnet, remember?
– How strongly are you opposed to grand theft auto?
Sheesh, Alice. Could you pick a more conspicuous car to steal?

I totally agree with Allison! the cast looks interesting. don’t diss something till you try/see it. Wait for the movie and rate that.

I’m personally not feeling Michael Sheen as Aro. I was a fully fledged member of the Ben Barnes for Aro club. Michael Sheen is and always will be Tony Blair. URGH!!!
I’m okay with the selections, but I’m miffed at EW.com saying Marcus is just a guard member. As if! 😉
I like Dakota Fanning playing Jane. I have seen her in the movies: Push, Hide & Seek, & Uptown Girls, and Dakota can definitly do drama and semi-creepiness that is Jane.
The guy who plays Marcus definitly looks creepy enough.
The guy who’s gonna play Alec looks a little too kiddish and I haven’t seen him act in anything so I wouldn’t know about him.
I don’t know about the other people either.
Totally agree with Allison comment #7 about everything, I’m so excited about this movie!! I am really looking forward to seeing the first released posed pictures of the cast, maybe some posters of the Volturi!!
yeah allison, i agree!!! i’ve been re-reading new moon and i’m luving it which is sooooooo strange coz i’m team edward. but now i dont hav 2 speed read 2 the part where edward comes back. stephenie meyer herself even said 2 read it twice. once 4 edward 2 come back and another 2 read about jacob.
just looking at the pics and ive changed my mind. the casting is quite good. that tinsel girl looks right now coz in that pic which was everywhere on the internet she didnt look v pretty but i could so see her as emily.
Omg! Yes they did!! they are so amazing..!! I’m especially happy with the volturi, everyone fits their role.. Chris has made an incredible job..!!

THE ACTOR THAT PLAYS CAIUS IS AMAZING! i have seen this guy in movies and he is wonderful, he has been in sweeney todd and might be in the 7th harry potter films for anyone who is interested in seeing some of his movies
all of the people they have cast to be the werewolves and emily i think are great people, they seem like they will all make a great werewolf pack
that is all i have to say about the cast its going so great so far and i am impressed with the decisions made by the new director

okay so the Volturi i think are HORRIBLE! I hate Dakota Fanning and the guy who plays Alec doesn’t even remotely look like her( i think they are supposed to be twins, right?). I mean they cast a guy from SUPERNATURAL for goodness sakes. That guy was SO creepy and his voice is annoying. I just hope they are perfect for the movie.
but i think the wolf pack is good. I mean, some of them are like… ehh but Emily and Paul are PERFECT!
i am quite pleased with the cast, especially micheal sheen (wooo!!) the only ones i’m not to sure about are the guy who is playing alec and maybe the guy whos playing harry clearwater, no idea why i’m not sure about him cos he will definetly fit the part. I was a little shocked that they have put heidi in the film cos she has such i tiny part in the book, but oh well, the film should be great!! Chris Weitz is a genius i love him and am so glad he is directing new moon YAY!!!!!
I am excited about the casting. there are a few that I don’t know of or have seen anything they have been in, but they look the part! I am very happy thus far with how things seem to be going with Chris Weitz!!! I can’t wait for NM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the whole cast! So far Chris Weitz is doing a great job. Hopefully he’ll keep it up!
