Yet Another Director Discussed For Eclipse

Deadline Hollywood’s Nikki Finke is reporting that Summit is considering director David Slade to helm Eclipse, though this is just rumor at this point.
“Insiders tell me that Summit Entertainment is talking to very edgy director David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days Of Night) about helming Eclipse, the 3rd pic in the Twilight Saga. I understand he’s met with author Stephenie Meyer and Summit prez of production Erik Feig. But let me be clear: there’s no deal yet. (Why do I care? Let me be transparent — because those Twilight fans generate heaps of web traffic…)”

They need to pick someone less edgy cause even though eclipse has a big battle it is VERYromance orented

I agree, if they plan on getting Eclipse out early next year, they need to get on the ball of finding someone to direct it. I also agree that it needs someone who can find the romance in it, not someone as edgy as David Slade. Someone who can handle the romance and the big battle scene with ease.
