  10. Alexander says:

Pffff….. “New Moon” still won’t be as dark and beautiful as 2008 “Let the Right One In”.

Buuuuut, it does promise to be better than “Twilight” was.

Don’t get onto me about not being a true fan or whatever; but yeah, I say that the first movie was a cinematic disaster. Kristen half-heartedly acted, the score was slapped together by Burwell; and the ‘special affects’ lent itself as the best comedy of the year in my mind. “Let The Right On In”, however, thanks to its cinematographer, Hoytema, was achingly beautiful: it is a vampire romance that, unfortunately, went ignored by American audiences. With it’s use of “spray light”, long shots with few cuts, paired with music composed by Johan Soderqvist, “Let The Right One In” or “Låt den rätte komma in” has become one of my favorite movies of all time. Go Sweden!

Twilight fans, check the movie out and you will be amazed.

  11. Olivia says:

My uncle was telling me about that movie, “Let the Right One In.” It’s like Swedish, right? Sounded pretty cool. And I would have to agree that I think Twilight the movie was a bit disappointing. I can’t wait for New Moon though, cuz it’s on a bigger budget, so hopefully the special effects will have improved. And I certainly hope that Kristin will learn a thing or two about acting. I’m not saying that I hated the movie, cuz there were some parts that were pretty good, but others that were terrible. So the good and the bad were balanced out.
    Like I said, can’t wait for New Moon, seeing as I’m a die-hard Jacob fan ;D ;D ;D

  12. Jasmine says:

    SOOO PUMPED FOR NEW MOON!
    YAY!!!! OME!!! <3

    Jazz (Team Cullen!)

  13. Monica H. says:

Creepy???… Hopefully they don’t make it TOO dark and creepy… it is a love story after all… NOT just another vampire movie. I really hope they make this one awesome because New Moon was my favorite book because it had such strong emotion… hopefully they keep some of that in the movie… :-/

  14. Tara P. says:

Ok the whole ET thing was so stupid. It didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. Chris Weitz is amazing. i expect New Moon to be better than twilight. Twilight is just the tip of the iceberg. I just don’t like that each movie will have a different director. I am excited but next time they better have some real info. I don’t care who is dating who. I care about the New Moon being made RIGHT!!!! 🙂

  15. Emily says:

I completely agree with you Tara! I’m like…”I don’t care if robert’s single, i want to know about the MOVIE!” I mean seriously, i knew half of the stuff they were talking about! But anyway, I am completely exstatic for new moon. Twilight did have it’s good points but, i really disliked some of it. They part i disliked the most was Kristin’s acting. At the end of the movie she is meant to screaming out in agony, but all she really does is breathe heavily and stare off into space. But i know new moon will be better!

  16. Cassidy says:

Someone tell me when they release the trailer!!! SOOOOOO EXITED!!!!! *Twilght fan squeal*

  17. Amanda says:

okay i was about to be like “why are you talking about another vamp movie?” but i just looked up ‘let the right one in’ and it does look super creepy.
but that movie seems like more of a horror genre. this one is an action romance. so…..its kind of a “duh” that it wont be as creepy as that movie.
i think that new moon is supposed to have more of a darker tone to it, and they might just be getting it right.
i cannot wait until they release the trailer either! i am SOOOOOO excited for this!

  18. Marisa says:

I love how Rob thinks. I think it’s awesome that they want to make it a bit disturbing and scary. But, I don’t want to get too excited. I did with “Twilight” and it was pretty good, but not as I hoped it would be. Hopefully this one is five times better.

  19. Alexander says:

    responding to Amanda:
    Amanda:
I’m sorry if my first comment appeared as if I didn’t understand the basic tone of “Twilight”: a forbidden romance, coming of age.
I am mainly upset that “Twilight” robbed the attention of American theaters from the Swedish masterpiece of “Let The Right One In”.
“Twilight” gathered attention from audiences like it had broken ground in the genre of vampire stories: a romance between a creature of the night and a human. But the book (from which the 2008 movie was based off of) “Let The Right One In”, or “Låt den rätte komma in” by John Ajvide Lindqvist came out in 2004, a year before “Twilight”. “Låt den rätte komma in” tells a tale of innocent love between Oskar and Eli (the vampire), just as heart wrenching, and beautiful as Edward and Bella, possibly more. I just hope that Twilight fans, along with their love of Twilight, discover and learn to love “Låt den rätte komma in”.

  20. Alexander says:

Website to “Let the Right One In”, a 2008 vampire movie based off of the 2004 Swedish book; A innocent romance between a 200 year old vampire, Eli, and Oskar; a story where the true villian isn’t the vampire, where darkness is safer than light.
