Ashley Says Eclipse Will Be “More Guy-Friendly”
Sep 16th, 2009 | By Krystal | Category: Featured Articles, Movie NewsMTV talked with Ashley Greene about working on Eclipse, as well as what direction David Slade plans to take the film! Apparently, David Slade wants the third film in the franchise to be a bit darker.
“Just as co-star Taylor Lautner told MTV News on Sunday, Greene said Slade’s taking the third “Twilight” film in a darker direction. “I think it’ll be different,” Greene said. “I think it’s going to be a battle between the studio and the director, and it’s going to be a hard balance, ’cause I think he’s … a little more focused on it being real and maybe it being gorier and a little dark and kind of dramatic.”
as far as i can remember, eclipse isnt that dark and dramatic… first comment!
Gorier??? Umm vampires don’t have blood. Ughh see this is what I was worried about with coming from a background of horror and slasher films. If he screws this film up it’s not good. The lat thing you wanna hear from an actress on set is that she thinks this is going to be a battle between studio and director. Eclipse is my favorite book. I don’t want it to be some dark grotesque thing. That’s not what eclipse is about. It’s about bella’s struggle to figure out who she really lives and wants to be with. New moon was the dark one.
Ughh.
Okay rant over. I just hope this film doesn’t get ruined.
Hey Hannah, I wouldn’t get too upset just yet. It might not have anything to do with gore and the vampires being torn apart at the end. It will probably show the creation of the new borns, making that a little more messy. Plus, with newborns on a feeding frenzy, there will be blood (haha). We just didn’t see what the bad vampires were doing, only heard about it. The battle with the studio, will probably be because of the risk of a rating increase. We’ll see!
Personaly, Im more worried about Breaking Dawn than Eclipse. The birth of Renesmee is pretty gross in the book, and I think if they were to do it right in the movie, it may have to be rated R. And Idk if summit would do that because a lot of the Twilight fans arent oldenough to get in. Haha.
None of these movies will be rated R. They know a lot of the viewers are in the 12-15 age range. I wouldn’t worry about Breaking Dawn, yeah it’ll be gruesome but they wont have to make it rated R. And if they make Eclipse rated R over some newborns getting changed and feeding or what not, I will be so pissed. But like I said, I don’t think any of them will be rated R.
Honestly, I don’t care about the gore, so long as they have all the amazing details of the book (ie. the proposal, and all the intimate, romantic and sweet scenes between Edward and Bella) If those aren’t in there I will totally have a hissy fit.
WHAT…uhm eclipse isn’t that dramatic if they make it like that then it would completly ruin it…not a fan of melo dramatic movies…tho i m a melodramatic girl,…all i remember is that jake still hoping for bella to choose him even tho edward and bella are getting engaged and that she wants to keep jacob a lil longer and skips school to go with him…(i would TOTTALY DO THAT TO)…and bella making out with jacob…dont get how they can make that dramatic…
hahaha!! I would love it if the battle scene was more dramatic, and if they actually showed a little of it happening. In the book we only see Victoria and Riley, so… they definitely need to keep the intimate parts, but making the movie more appealing to guys is a GOOD thing. As for the battle between the studio and the director, that happens a lot I’m sure. And if it doesn’t it’s because the directors do whatever the studio asks. I know that Eclipse will be good…oh, about the vampires having no blood (HannahC said something about this)…you have to RIP them apart and burn the pieces to kill them. That’s kind of gory in it’s own way. They don’t even need blood!

I hope they don’t make it too gruesome!! I just hope that by changing directors in every film so far it doesn’t ruin the whole thing and detract from the book!!! I don’t know why people have to ruin a good thing to start with!!!
