Newborn Set Pics!

Vancity Allie has some great newborn pics from the set of Eclipse!  Click here to see all the great photos!

“I had a chance to see a new set being filmed for Eclipse… the scene where the newborns arrive in Forks. It’s a picturesque scene, with mountains and water framing the background of the shot, and a sparse unoccupied beach for the newborns to arrive on… then they disappear into the forest. The vampire newborns looked absolutely chilling, and their rugged military-like outfits along with steely, determined glares just added to the mood. Filmed early in the morning, this scene was designed to look as if it had been shot at night, possibly just after dusk or just before dawn.”

  2. Michele Celine says:

They look great! But what do you think they’re doing in the water?? Confused about that.

  3. 64 days till New Moon!!! says:

Michele- we could play the “whaddayathink” game all day long… kinda like where in Twilight (the book) was Charlie’s friend Wayland killed… it’s a matter of adding (or subtracting) things in order to make the story flow better on-screen.

Does anyone else feel that the guy in the middle of the left-hand photo looks a LOT like Andrew Stehlin (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm369661952/nm1828518)? He played Arvin in David Slades ’30 Days of Night’. There were some fantastically scary vamps in that movie!!!! 🙂

Looking at the pictures, all I can think is “Land of the Dead”. They look like the old school Romero zombies with that blueish tint. Them emerging from the water is exactly like “Land of the Dead” where the zombies walk underwater to get to the secluded “safe haven” on the other side.

  9. TrendHater73 says:

Oh! and yes Debbie, I agree. “30 Days of Night” is AMAZING.

  10. Ali Dangga says:

Puke! 30 days of nights was horrid. I flinch everytime that I’m reminded that Slade is directing Eclipse. Hopefully it will be marvelous.

  11. Sia says:

I have to agree with Ali 30 Days of night wasn’t that good. It’s different so maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy it but hey it’s ok I HAVE FAITH IN David.
I think the newborns look cool and Stephenie never said their age or if they were beautiful I just always though they were scary SO THIS IS GOOD !!!

  12. Ella says:

they look alsome , but what are they ding in water , but I know chris has a plan.

  13. rhonda says:

they look like zombies, i thought they were supose to blend in. looking like that they won’t. hope they don’t make it look like a horror film, it would ruin it.

  14. OMG I HAVE OCD!!!! says:

I thought vampires were beautiful. In the pics they look like zombies. Also what r they doing in the water

  15. Shteff says:

  16. AshleeCullen18 says:

They look scary! But AWESOME!! I <3 BLOOD CRAZY NEWBORNS! lol

  17. Tilly says:

ella: chirs isnt directing this movie…david slade is…

  18. Jademonkey says:

They look horrid to me, aren’t vampires supposed to be beautiful? Everything about them draw you in, their looks included. If I saw these people on the street I would run the other way. What’s up with the green stocking cap? uggggh

The idea of them coming out of the water works for me.The books did talk about how they could swim forever since they don’t need air and don’t get tired. The books don’t go into how they newborns got from Seattle to the clearing, so that part is up to the imagination, I like it.

From the looks of the images I’ve seen so far, I’m getting nervous about Eclipse. I wish Chris could just do them all, new moon looks amazing!
