Meghan: What we’ll do is just start here, you’ll do one question and keep going around…

Letters to Twilight: No pressure!

(Laughing)

Meghan: So alright, go for it!

Stephenie: Wait! Wait, wait, wait! Do you all have your tape recorders on?

All: (Nodding and saying yes!)

Stephenie: First question, because we are going to deal with this right now, is Midnight Sun! Right? So we don’t have to…

All: (Lot’s of blabbering…)

Stephenie: I know that’s what everyone cares about.  I also know that the right answer would be for me to say “Oh yah, it’s done! And it’ll be out next month!”  But that’s not true.  It’s also not true that I’ve got a ton of work done on it, and that’s what I’m working on.  What’s true is that I’m really burned out on vampires.  And, I don’t want to write it badly.  So I want to wait until I’m excited about the material again, and I’m excited about Edward, and that it’s something that’s motivating.  You know, when a story is keeping me up at night, and I’m waking up at 4 am in the morning and thinking ‘Yes! That is what is what should happen in this moment!’  Then that is when I can write with happiness! So, right now it feels like homework… it really does.  And when things feel like homework they go very, very slowly for me.  So it’s still not a “It’s not gonna happen!” I want to do it when I can do it right.  You know, I have my share of human stubbornness, and I have to tell you, it’s a little bit hard when people are like “This is the only thing you can do, and it’s the only thing we care about!”  And, you’re kind of like a three year old, you want to be like “I’m gonna do what I wanna do!” Yah.  “You’re not the boss of me!”  So my mom has backed off a little bit.  Actually, I was at The Fray concert, and I was hanging out with the guys backstage.  They’re really cool, and I was talking to Isaac about it.  He was like, “I really want you to do that!”  And I was like “Oh my gosh!  Come on!”  You know I can’t get away from it anywhere.  And, we talked about stubbornness and reverse psychology.  I have this great thing he signed for me, it says “To Stephenie, Don’t work on that stupid book! Nobody wants it anyway!”  I have it by my computer.  That really is the right direction to go with me, because I’m like “Huh!  Maybe I should do it!  I’ll show you!”   Psychology!  Anyway, that’s Midnight Sun!  so, that should disappoint everyone!

Twilight Series Theories: I don’t think so!

Stephenie: Ok!  so now we’re done!  (Laughing) So, I’ll see you guys later!

All: (Laughing)

Letters to Twilight: That’s totally understandable.

Twilight Series Theories: I would rather wait.

Twilight Source: We’re not reading it until it’s done.

Twilight Series Theories: I haven’t read it!

Letters to Twilight: You haven’t!

Stephenie: The people I worry about are the haters. You know, that like to talk about what a horrible writer I am and all that stuff.  When I do write it they’re going to say “Oh, this was worse than the first half because now she did it badly!”  No matter what I do it’s going to be that way.  There’s a mental block there.  You know what people are going to say, so I have wait until it’s just me and the book again.  Then I can feel excited about it!  You know, sometimes I’ll sit and think about the car chase, that we don’t get to see from Bella’s perspective.  I have that one completely mapped out in my head.  That one wouldn’t be hard to get down. Stuff like that, it gets exciting. Cars.  Ya know!  The first car he steals I have picked out, and then the second one.  It get’s messy!  It’s gonna be great!  You have to get excited about things!  But, that’s Midnight Sun!

  1. Rosie says:

I really loved reading the twilight series. I just hope Stephanie does complete Midnight Sun, and sometime soon. Not everyone on this earth has much time left to enjoy creative minds like Stephanie’s. The whole experience of reading Stephanie’s books have inspired me to read more, but nothing else has given so me much pleasure. Long may Stephanie’s career continue to inspire other creative geniuses.

  2. Brigitte says:

I love this book and it would be wonderful to read them all over again but in Edwards point of view. These book are the best book that i have ever read and i wont to see if it is just as good i the book Mid Night Sun.

  3. Bre says:

I love The Series. She is an amazing writer the way book sucks you in and you dont get a breath of air till they are all done but it only leaves you wanting more. Twilight is my favorite series. I cant wait untill midnight sun is done. I am like many others who feel like Edward is a really person and I cant wait to hear it from his side. I hope she continues to write such addicting literature.

  4. Brittney says:

I don’t know if you read this stephenie but I really wanted to figure out someway for what I wanted to say. I have lost alot of friends this year and had to find way to keep my mind off the bad things going on around me. Your books did that for me they still do even though I have read each one of them around thirty time or more. They still draw me in and even though I know what is going to happen I react as if it were the first time I read them. I don’t think I am your only fan that feels this way.I really cant wait to read Midnight Sun and I hope that when you are ready to write it again you can enjoy it as much as you did the rest of the books. I really just want to say that your writing matters to so many people and I hope that you never give it up.

  5. Paula says:

I am, from what I understand, just one of your many many fans of the Twilight Series, including the movie versions. Giving us Edward’s version of events I think is an excellent idea. Truthfully, I wish it were to be published tomorrow. He is a character we have all grown to love. There will always be critics (of anyone’s writing) so please don’t let those FEW spoil the journey for the rest of your fans and believe me we so far outrank those few. Looking so forward to Midnight Sun – you have no idea.

  6. Ashley says:

The Twilight series was one of the best series I have ever read. It really helped me through a very difficult and indecisive time in my life. I put off reading them for some time but finally gave in and could not put them down. I read Breaking Dawn in a day and a half. These books were so drawing and such a wonderful escape. Stephenie you are truly a wonderful author and as a previous poster wrote, please don’t let the haters spoil that for you or your devoted fans. We truly treasure your work and very much look forward to Midnight Sun. Thank you.

  7. crystal says:

get her done girl you have a hot book series and no matter how bad some people think it is you have to forget about that because sooooo many people adore it to be honest this series was the first books ive ever read completely and im 26 ive never even read the bible but thats besides the point. i cant wait for more.so i hope you dont get any greif because you truely are amazing look at the starz youve made out of robert and cristen amazing!!!!!!! so good luck on it all

  8. misha says:

when is stephen meyer going to finish midnight sun.i love the books and i admire her work.

  9. Sean says:

Is she ever actually going to finish it tho,I wish she would just say yes or no. (Not really interested in the time frame but at least I would know that somday it will)

  10. Jarides says:

I have never read four books in my life as fast as i have read the Twilight series. I read all four in a week and I work full time, so as you can imagine I didn’t get much sleep, lol. There has never been a book that has affected me the way your books have. My husband thought i was having a breakdown, lol. He couldn’t understand how a book can make me happy one moment, so sad my tears would get in my way of reading and then back to happy again. I understand Stephenie Meyer with the decision that she has taken. In life I have learned you can never make everyone happy. Do what makes you happy and I’m sure the outcome will be better than what you dreamed it would be. I want to thank Stephenie Meyer for such an amazing escape from the every day, and for continuing to dream. For those that haven’t found their special someone; your characters give them hope. For those who have; their feeling are cemented by the words and actions of the two lovers. Thank you for inspiring the world with romance.

    Jari

  11. Marie says:

First, I would like to agree with all the comments prior to mine when it comes to the impact the Twilight series has had on my life. I find myself reading the books and watching the movies over an over again. Second, I would like to commend you for your brilliance when rewriting the same scenes from a different character’s point of view, truly outstanding. Third, in reading your interiew and learning that you are “all vampired out”, I’m wondering if maybe it’s time to pass the torch on to another. Someone else with your similar talents and amazing ability to bring characters to life with such force of nature could take over from where you left off, but with a fresh heart. I do not mean to be insensitive, but in my experience, once we grow out of something, it’s almost impossible to be able to enjoy that something in the same way ever again.

    • Samn says:

I couldn’t agree with you more or the many other points of view posted thus far regarding Midnight Sun. You also have a valid point about the torch being passed but none of us would want to give up something we’ve created so the likelihood of that happening is little to none.

I am a late-comer to the Twilight Saga and it wasn’t until reading Midnight Sun that I realized how important this particular volume is to the entire set. I received more insight about the characters from reading the manuscript than from the original 4 volumes and seeing all the movies released to date. There are too many things in the manuscript, in Edward’s head, that did not come across in any of the novels nor in any of the movies (what the others are thinking, feeling, saying – they all come through in Edward’s version).

Without Midnight Sun, for example, one would not have intimate knowledge of the Charlie Brown effect (unexpected head over heels flip) Edward experiences – and when – the night he hears Bella speak his name and realizes she was dreaming of him. He feels something and realizes he is in love with her. The reader is able to see what he felt and more importantly, feel what he felt – how he felt it and when.

People everywhere are finally reading something more than text messages. Stephenie Meyer’s education alone must make her appreciate that fact. For an author to write a romance novel, let alone a saga, that both male and female readers can identify with is a real gift. To do it within a backdrop of literary references is both genius and a mark of true literature. The tragedy here is not that Midnight Sun won’t be developed into a novel but that male readers everywhere are losing out on the one aspect of this saga that they can truly identify with. With Midnight Sun, you see the male perspective. The pain and changes Edward goes through are not that far afield from the true experiences males everywhere feel when wanting a love. The mix of emotions involving love and loss, of jealousy, the aspects of morality, nobility, and chivalry for goodness sake! Edward Cullen, considering he is a “monster”, is a great example of a good “man”. Not Bella’s version – nor any of the theatrical releases – could or did show what was behind Edward’s character. That can only be told by Edward himself.

It’s sad to hear that Stephenie Meyer is “all vampired out”, though that probably has more to do with hanging out on movie sets for several years than sitting at her computer. Hopefully, she will one day realize that her true passion is in writing and decide to finish this volume. Great stories don’t come along very often and when they do, people don’t want to let go of them. This is a really great story and so much more of it can be told.

It goes without saying that female fans and Twilighters everywhere will purchase – sight unseen – a 1000-page plus version of Midnight Sun. For male readers everywhere, though, including Meyer’s own offspring, I would urge her to reconsider finishing this volume of the set because it is so crucial. There is much all of us can learn from Edward Cullen but only if he tells us…

  12. Sam says:

i so hope she writes the book
i can’t get that stupid book out of my head! lol
i was sooooooooooo sad by the end of Breaking Dawn
i just wish there was some way she would write ALL of the books in Edward’s perspective also
i would kill for those books!

  13. Blaine says:

These comments alone should tell Stephenie Meyer how much these books are loved. I too, came late to the whole twilight saga. But I’ve never enjoyed any books so much as these, so much so that I too have reread them many times. When I got to midnight sun, I was astounded that it could get any better but it did!! Edward’s point of view blew me out of the water. All of the books were fascinating, but told through Edward’s mind even more so. I think because we all know how human’s feel, but we didn’t understand how wonderful and scary and beautiful Edward really is. So if you read this Stephenie forget about the haters and write all of the books in Edward’s Perspective and you’ll have another phenomenon happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Dee says:

I find myself reading adn re-reading the series – I have a photographic memory so for me, that NEVER happens. I find myself wondering what he was thinking, where was he when…. I only WISH I could say “yeah, we don’t want it anyway” but i can’t lie. I can’t even IMAGINE that there would be haters ~ this is a story SCREAMING to be told – and I wish we could give that love back to Stephenie so that she would remember that at one point it did keep her up, because it is the missing piece of the puzzle.

  15. Kym says:

Whoever leaked the first few chapters should kill themselves asap if they hadn’t been such idiots the book would probably be finished by now smh people are so ridiculous smh

  16. Tina says:

I loved all four of the original Twilight Series books! So much so that I read them all in a week and I was left wanting more! You have a beautiful style of writing that draws us in, is all consuming, and gives readers like myself, the opportunity to have an escape from the ordinary. You are truly talented and to stop with your Midnight Sun project uncompleted would be a tragidy. I hope you will have a renewed desire for the project which will inspire you to complete Midnight Sun and possibly entice you to write more of this series. Best Wishes

  17. shay says:

i just want a yes or no. i finally broke down and read the draft i tried really hard not to but it was just to much not to. I must say i have wanted to hear edwards point of view since i first read twilight. I don’t think i would mind if she stopped it if she got to the meadow scene. well I would mind but it would be easier to let it go if she doesn’t finish it. But she’s being a little selfish since she keeps dragging us on like this. it’s like a guy u love or girl and they keep leading you on and they won’t commite . just break it off or something. I have the series memorize. I love it and i hope she finishes it.

  18. maggie says:

I have recently finished the Twilight Series, & while I also look forward to someday reading Midnight Sun, what I really want to know is: Does Stephanie have any plans to continue writing about the lives of the Cullens from the point that Breaking Dawn ends? I’d love to see what happens with Nessie & Jacob when she grows up, and I don’t think that anyone has seen the last of the Volturi. There is still alot of story left to tell, & I really hope Stephanie will do so!

  19. ann says:

I really don’t get why it’s so difficult for SM’s to finish Midnight Sun. From everything I read, everything is the same as Twilight except it’s from Edward’s POV. Honestly, by the time it does come out, I will not care about it. I’m sure many other fans will have moved on as well. She will lose some of those readers. Yes, it was leaked and that was a terrible thing to have happen to a writer, but how long with the fans have to suffer with side books about characters that have no importance?

    • Kelley Richardson says:

Amen to that!!!!!! I haven’t heard anyone say this and it is exactly how I feel!! There has to be something coming out if part one of Breaking Dawn is at the end of this year and part two is at the end of next year!!! Gee, we finally get a release date for the Official Guide and that was promised LONG AGO!! I will believe the book is out when I open up my mailbox and my year old (PLUS) pre-order is sitting right there!!!! Throw us a bone already!!

  20. Joyce Anderson says:

Thank you, Stephenie Meyer, for the Twilight saga.
I am 65 years old and have loved vampire stories/movies since I was a child and watched Bela Lugosi movies on the late show on television (black and white):) I had mostly lost interest after Anne Rice’s vampire series, because so many of the new writers concentrated on blood and gore with very little literary merit. A big turn-off for me. I love good literature first and foremost.
Therefore, I had no interest in reading Twilight at first but my granddaughter gave me a copy for Christmas. At the time she was 14 and crazy about the book. I read it to please her, sort of a “togetherness/bonding” thing. Well! I was hooked by the end of the first chapter and did not stop reading until I had finished the entire series. It takes Talent to do that for a reader.
Yes, I read the Midnight Sun draft as well. As other readers have pointed out already, it is Wonderful. I feel confident that you will finish it.

I’ve done some thinking as to why you say that you are “all vamped out” and that you are fearful of the “haters” who would criticize you no matter what. I think that the two statements are closely related. I think that it might be a hard place to be, on the top of the popularity scale, whatever your profession. When you can get beyond the worry that you might slide down as fast as you made the ascent, then you will be fine. Then, you can get back to writing from the heart and from that wondrous imagination of yours. Imagine the dearth of great writers if fear had kept them down. They all admitted to the same kinds of fears at some point in their careers you know.

    Wishing you the best

    • wooooozee says:

love midnight sun so far. keep coming back here now and then in the hopes of…

    • Sarah says:

I completely agree with you, Joyce. My idea of a fun read is to be completely captivated by the book, so captivated that you can’t even look away from it-that’s what I love about reading. 🙂 And that’s also why I want to become an author. I don’t care if haters don’t love my writing-that’s it. You have to love your own writing to be above that. You can’t let stupid remarks bring down the thing you love.

Which is exactly what Stephenie is doing-she’s letting everyone influence her writing, she’s worried about what people will think. And as an author, you can’t let that happen. I mean, this is like her baby, and everyone’s throwing rocks and sticks at the baby. She’s afraid of it getting hurt, so she doesn’t even want to bring it out for everyone to throw the rocks and sticks. It sucks for the real true fans who have been dying for the past three years for the book.

  21. susan says:

my name is susan, and I am 39 years old. I had never read a book in my whole life. My daughter kept on bugging me to see the Twilight movie, and so I gave in and watched it. The movie was ok, i thought. My daughter said “Mom just read the book, it’s so much better than the movie, the movie doesn;t even follow the book, the book is totally different.” So I thought to my self….i’m almost 40, i need to at least read a book before i die. I decided to read the first 3 chapters and if I didn’t like it i would stop reading it. WOW, I couldn’t put the book down, my housework went undone, my family had to fend for theirselves for food, and i read all 4 books plus Midnight Sun in a week and a half. i lost 10 pounds. really…10 pounds. If Mrs. Meyer doesn’t finish Midnight Sun, i will be lost. Midnight Sun is my favorite book of the series. Bella never thought out her feeling the way Edward does. I LOVE MIDNIGHT SUN

  22. susan says:

It would be wonderful to read the finished book Midnight Sun. To hear what Edward was thinking in the meadow while Bella touch his arm and face, and why he ran away from her when she started to smell his breath. To see why Edward did not tell Bella he loved her after she told him in the rocking chair. To hear what he was thinking and saying while hunting James. To hear what his reaction was when he got off the plane, only to find Bella gone, and why Jasper and Alice did not go after her themselves. To hear his heart break, finding her in the ballet studio, what the taste of her blood did to him, how he was able to stop feeding. The days spent in the hospital while Bella was out of it, the different conversations he had with Renee, Alice, Carlisle, Jasper, Emmett. The real reason behind the prom.

If your like me…you try and guess what he was thinking and saying. But we can’t and don’t understand him the way Mrs. Meyer does. She is Edward. What an amazing place to be…in Edwards head. To know him inside and out. Lucky woman.

  23. Jamie says:

I really understand that Stephanie is ‘burnt out’ with Vampire books, but it is my sincere hope that she finds her way back to them…I did read the first chapter that was unauthorized and released to the public and I thought it was awesome…I cant wait until its completed and completed how she wants it to be not what it would be if she was pressured into finishing it. I also hope that once she gets back into the grove we can get all the Twilight series from Edwards perspective…it puts a whole new twist on an already amazing series.

  24. Belinda Her says:

    Haha stephenie:

take your time, haha, we all know how its like for the “right moment” for everything! just do it before i die okay? 😉

  25. laila says:

    hey from denmark
i love the twilight saga and i read all 4 books in 14 days, I hope that stephenie meyer will write Midnight Sun,I chose not to read it online, would much rather sit with book in my hand

  26. Renee says:

    Stephenie,

I hope you get inspired to write Edwards story. I read the draft and love it and want the rest!! You should be excited….becuase you felt his story needed to be told and that it would look great on your shelf next to twilight! I want the whole story from Edwards point and then maybe from Carlise’s and Alice’s!

I know it’s hard to write when it feels forced and your just not into it. Maybe you should re-read midnight sun and see if you get inspired. I hope so! Anyway you are really talented and such a great writer. Don’t worry about the haters……their real problem is jealousy…..they wish they had your talent.

    God Bless.

  27. Shannon says:

You know I really loved the Twilight series. It took me no time at all to finish them. I have all the movies to date and have read each book about a dozen times each. My husband and kids don’t understand how I could love them so much, but never the less he went out and bought me The Host. That book had the same effect on me. I personally don’t care what book Stephenie publishes but I just can’t wait! I love her writing and would just like to see a new book from her. Anything is better than all is waiting. I have my favorite authors and read almost all of their books but I would stop in the middle of one of the books I’m reading to read a new one from Stephenie Meyer.

  28. Vanessa says:

Please stephanie finish Midnight Sun, my copies of the other twilight books are wearing quite thin ! I can’t resist reading them over and over because I love the story so much. As soon as I heard about Midnight Sun i havent stoppped thinking about it. I’m so excited. I know it hurts to have those people ruin your story, but you have many more fans who are loyal and anticipating the completion of this novel.
    I love your work !

  29. Teresa says:

    Hi there,
I have just read all of these comments & I do agree with each & every one of them. I also fell in love with the series & found that I couldn’t get enough of them. However, I have also found that I am OVER waiting. I have read Midnight Sun, but I wished that I hadn’t. I too understand that Stephanie was absolutely devasted that MS was leaked, but c’mon already. Hasn’t her TRUE fans waited long enough. Since reading these books, I have purchased & read another 50 + other vampire related stories. I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of these too, but at least with these, I have been able to finish them fully. I have a lot of young friends that are into Twilight as well & 1 of them in particular is counting down till the release of Breaking Dawn – but you know what – I AM OVER IT!!! JUST BRING IT ON ALREADY STEPHENIE!!! O, but I would like to Thank Stephenie for her amazing stories. She is truly an amazing writer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. Natasha says:

i hope she does come out with midnight sun soon!! i am not a book person but ive read all the books and i LOVED them! once when i was in high school (about 2 years ago) i got in trouble because i was reading these books so much even tho i got good grades. but that just shows how much people like the books!! im soo looking forward to the new book 🙂

  31. Vert says:

I am a huge Twilight fan, and I have read the partial posting of Midnight Sun on Stephanie’s website. I am extremely disappointed that she has not finished this book, and I think that Stephanie needs to be true to her fans and finish the book!

  32. beth says:

i have hurd a rumor that they are posibly coming out this year im not sure tho becoz this came off a vage thing that stephehie said at a press relise or sumthing like that and that she is starting on a nother book called full moon which is new moon from jacobs point of view but im not geting my hopes up because it was not a defent i finished but i love her books i read twilight within a day new moon and eclips in 2 days each and 3 for breaking dawn and 1 for the short second life of bree tanner i hope that the spark comes again and it gets published

  33. Jenn says:

    Hi all

Yes another Twilight fan here. I hope that SM does finish Midnight Sun. I am am avid reader – have been all my life – but no series has touched me the way that this series does. When i read the first chapter of Midnight Sun (which is at the back of my version of Twilight) I found it so interesting. And then, I’m sorry Stephanie, I read the other chapters on your website. It is so interesting to see his point of view – we really understand him so much better. It makes me think of all the other times when he is not with Bella, what he is thinking. i would love to hear his thoughts from New Moon when he wasn’t in Forks, and of him talking to the Volturi – how great would that be!
I hope you get inspired again and fall back in love with the characters Stephanie.

Also just let me say thank you to Stephanie. She has inspired more people to read, and touched and inspired many others to follow their dreams. A great contribution to the world. 🙂

  34. Floyd Crasto says:

Twilight was the first novel I read. The moment I read it people I literally fell in love with it, its story, its characters…gosh I began living it! Im not exaggerating it even a bit, I mean it. And now jeez it really excites me to hear that Mrs. Meyer is working on Midnight Sun! I fervently wish I could do something to contribute or help or be a part of or anything that I could do for it. Now all I can do to help is just wish the best to Mrs. Meyer. Hats off to you Ma’am as i would say! And I’ll be praying my prayers to see the day when Midnight Sun is out.

  35. Shannon says:

    Stephenie,
I have written here before. I have said how much I love the Twilight Saga and the Host. To all those who want Midnight Sun to be finished I have to say that I agree with you Stephenie. Do what your heart tells you to do. Everyone has critics, but to everyone one of those critics you have a hundred more fans. As a fan myself I feel that if you need to shelf Midnight Sun then do it. It’s only going to be that much better when you do finish it. The one thing I do ask is when is your next book coming out? I keep checking on your website and nothing. Please update so we all can know when and what your new book will be. Until then keep up the good work! I can’t wait for more from you!

  36. Kaitlynn says:

    Stephenie,
I absolutely love the Twilight novels. And honestly, Edward is my favorite character, with Bella a close second. I agree with what you said, if it doesn’t feel right, you can’t write it. You have to want to write it. But I will say this, when I was looking through your website, and I saw that you had started something from Edward’s point of view, I was extremely excited. I also was extremely upset that someone you trusted with your rough drafts would release them on the internet without your permission. But when I saw the link on your website to read the draft of Midnight Sun, I couldn’t help myself. I have read it and what I read I loved. One hundred percent. So, yes, I think your reasoning behind not writing Midnight Sun now is completely understandable, and I think you should write it when you want to, not be forced into writing it, for lack of a better term. But just know this, whenever you do finish and publish it, I will be waiting and getting a copy as soon as possible! I am excited for whenever it does come out, and I would love for you to finish it and love to read the finished product. It’s a great story, and I can’t wait for you to decide it’s time to finish writing it and release it! Thank you for your novels, they’re wonderful!

I’m sure all you die hard fans will hate me for pointing this out, but as soon as the money from the movies stops rolling in I’m sure Stephenie will sit down and finish Midnight Sun. Just like all of you I fell in love with the twilight novels and The Host, but I really think its a bit sensitive to quit writing the book just because people have read the begining of it. And as for ‘waking up at 4 am in the morning and thinking ‘Yes! That is what is what should happen in this moment!’ ‘ – its already ‘happened’! Its not like she can change the plot, so just listen to your fans Stephenie and write the damn book.

  38. jaz says:

    Stephenie,
Please Oh please! I’m dying to read the rest of the story.. Please finish “Midnight Sun”.. I agree with Kaitlynn.. you have to want to write it so that there would be a great outcome.. I don’t care when you would continue writing or when it would be published.. just please finish it before I die..:) please?
I really, really love your novels! You’re such a great writer( I know I don’t have to say that…but I just can’t help it:))

I understand what you mean when you say about it feeling like homework. I can’t blame you, but I would personnaly love to see things from Edward’s point of view. In some wyas it’s more interesting to see his deep passion for Bella and his way of thinking things through… Still it is your book and you’re just not into it enough yet…. However, please finish it and publish it. The book will probably, due to your outstanding writing skills and knowledge of your characters, be absolutely (to use your word) Dazzling !

  40. Whitney says:

I am facinated with Stephenie’s creativity… I have never enjoyed reading in my life. When I bought the Twilight Series, after watching the 1st movie, I took the next 2 days off work and did nothing but read until I was done with them. I absolutely loved them. I can’t wait to read more of her books(…especially Midnight Sun). But I want her full creativity, so I can wait for her to decide when : )

  41. Sarah says:

Stephenie is an amaizing author and it takes one creative mind to put a spark in another, and that’s exactly what Stephenie’s books did for me. I have always been a reader, but her books just gave me the reason for why I read-I want to become an author. I want to touch millions’ hearts with my writitng just like Stephenie. I love how she loves her characters and I’ve grown to love them as well. The only way to keep the story fun to read is to wait and make it fun to write-otherwise it isn’t really a fun story anymore, is it? She needs to take a break. Think where she stopped off and get back on track. If we don’t give her that chance, we don’t get that fun read.

  42. Bree says:

As much as everyone loves Midnight Sun, I’d have to agree with Stephenie. Yes, she is a brilliant author and I do love hearing about Edward’s point of view-it makes me want to read it even more just thinking about it-but why read something we forced her to give us? She’s the author, she’s the one who can control who and what she writes about. I say let her explore! Let her write what ever she wants, that way the book will actually be worth the wait.

Even though I’m just as excited to read it as you are, I think she should start the whole book over. You know, if she just goes with what she already did, the people that actually did read it will take away the magic of that ‘first read’. The topic of the book can’t take over the actual book.

So its very possible that we’ll have Midnight Sun next to the twilight series on bookshelves everwhere someday…. Just not today 🙂

  43. Sindy says:

Well I think she’s just scared that the rest of the book is not going to be as good as the part that was leaked. It’s alot of pressure and some people just can’t handle it. I think we should respect that and make peace with the fact that she may never finish it.

  44. Haley Campbell says:

I think that she should finish it when she’s ready. Just because she is an amazing writer and everyone loves her books, doesn’t mean she’s not still human. I totally understand where she is coming from, and she should finish it when she wants to and has inspiration to do it.

  45. melody says:

  48. Trace says:

    From Eng a land
WHEN this wonderful book hits the shelves we’ll appreciate that it was well worth the wait. For those that can’t wait ,there’s always a one way ticket to Italy…..Just make sure you tell someone with a fast (preferably) yellow Porsche just incase its published while you’re over there.

  49. Lolface says:

wouldn’t it be so cool if midnight sun had the same cover as twilight, but white?

  50. sally says:

You know what, after reading the series, isnt is nice that something like this can put a smile on our faces. We open our minds to endless possibilities about love and relationships. Stephanie has captured the hearts and minds of all of us, taking us to places in our imagination that are different for each and everyone one of us. Whilst appreciation the complexitives of life with family friends and work committments, I also hold out hope that one day inspiration will be forthcoming and that we will once again experience that feelings of excitment and adventure that Stephanie creates with her characters in her books.
