Meghan: What we’ll do is just start here, you’ll do one question and keep going around…

Letters to Twilight: No pressure!

(Laughing)

Meghan: So alright, go for it!

Stephenie: Wait! Wait, wait, wait! Do you all have your tape recorders on?

All: (Nodding and saying yes!)

Stephenie: First question, because we are going to deal with this right now, is Midnight Sun! Right? So we don’t have to…

All: (Lot’s of blabbering…)

Stephenie: I know that’s what everyone cares about.  I also know that the right answer would be for me to say “Oh yah, it’s done! And it’ll be out next month!”  But that’s not true.  It’s also not true that I’ve got a ton of work done on it, and that’s what I’m working on.  What’s true is that I’m really burned out on vampires.  And, I don’t want to write it badly.  So I want to wait until I’m excited about the material again, and I’m excited about Edward, and that it’s something that’s motivating.  You know, when a story is keeping me up at night, and I’m waking up at 4 am in the morning and thinking ‘Yes! That is what is what should happen in this moment!’  Then that is when I can write with happiness! So, right now it feels like homework… it really does.  And when things feel like homework they go very, very slowly for me.  So it’s still not a “It’s not gonna happen!” I want to do it when I can do it right.  You know, I have my share of human stubbornness, and I have to tell you, it’s a little bit hard when people are like “This is the only thing you can do, and it’s the only thing we care about!”  And, you’re kind of like a three year old, you want to be like “I’m gonna do what I wanna do!” Yah.  “You’re not the boss of me!”  So my mom has backed off a little bit.  Actually, I was at The Fray concert, and I was hanging out with the guys backstage.  They’re really cool, and I was talking to Isaac about it.  He was like, “I really want you to do that!”  And I was like “Oh my gosh!  Come on!”  You know I can’t get away from it anywhere.  And, we talked about stubbornness and reverse psychology.  I have this great thing he signed for me, it says “To Stephenie, Don’t work on that stupid book! Nobody wants it anyway!”  I have it by my computer.  That really is the right direction to go with me, because I’m like “Huh!  Maybe I should do it!  I’ll show you!”   Psychology!  Anyway, that’s Midnight Sun!  so, that should disappoint everyone!

Twilight Series Theories: I don’t think so!

Stephenie: Ok!  so now we’re done!  (Laughing) So, I’ll see you guys later!

All: (Laughing)

Letters to Twilight: That’s totally understandable.

Twilight Series Theories: I would rather wait.

Twilight Source: We’re not reading it until it’s done.

Twilight Series Theories: I haven’t read it!

Letters to Twilight: You haven’t!

Stephenie: The people I worry about are the haters. You know, that like to talk about what a horrible writer I am and all that stuff.  When I do write it they’re going to say “Oh, this was worse than the first half because now she did it badly!”  No matter what I do it’s going to be that way.  There’s a mental block there.  You know what people are going to say, so I have wait until it’s just me and the book again.  Then I can feel excited about it!  You know, sometimes I’ll sit and think about the car chase, that we don’t get to see from Bella’s perspective.  I have that one completely mapped out in my head.  That one wouldn’t be hard to get down. Stuff like that, it gets exciting. Cars.  Ya know!  The first car he steals I have picked out, and then the second one.  It get’s messy!  It’s gonna be great!  You have to get excited about things!  But, that’s Midnight Sun!

Please Finish it stephenie! I need to read midnight sun. its been 3 years, and Im going crazy. In that decision I really hope you considered the fans that have supported you through the years and thought about what your doing to them by waiting this long, were not vampires, 3 years dont just fly by… I do understand your side of the story. but hasn’t it been long enough?! ……………PLEASE…………:(

    • Catherine says:

I love the Twilight saga. The books and the movies. I just finished reading Midnight’s Sun, the part that’s complete, and I must say that the book is magnificent! It leaves me wanting more. I think Stephenie is being, like she put it, humanly selfish. Please share your gifts with the world. Your books give me a pleasant escape from reality. I am a 30 year old mother of 5 boys and a husband. Your books keep me sane. I need you to understand the torture it is for me to not be able to read Midnight’s Sun in its entirety. I need your book finished like a crack head craves crack. Lol. Its bad enough that I have to wait so long for Breaking Dawn to come out in the theaters November 18, 2011, but to have no definite date on when Midnight’s Sun will be published is heart breaking for me. Stephenie, if you are reading this, please hear my cry. I love you and I think you are an amazing writer, forget what the haters say about you. Let them be your motivators. Get excited that there are people out here that are willing to support you in your dreams. Please don’t disappoint your fans nor deprive us any longer. You are the queen of fantasy writing. I really think Edward Cullen wants his story to be told. Don’t hold him back any more. I love you and hope that you are doing well.

      • Mary says:

How about writing new moon from jacob’s point of view. I hope ms. Meyers read this. Cannot get enough of twilight.

    • Lindsay says:

No! Stephanie, write when you’re excited about it. Don’t just do the bare minimum like you would do for homework. Let a masterpiece come out of you. These things take time, and the REAL fans are willing to wait.

    • Every thing twilight says:

I totally get you girl! You and I are just Twilight fans who have to read Midnight Sun before we go CRAZY!!!!

  2. Hannah says:

I love midnight sun so far.Edwards charector is more deep and intresting. At parts I actualy cried!!! No books ever don’t that before.I don’t want to see the saga end I hope you write more.

  3. ella says:

all can say is, i love twilihgt! i hope it’ll never end..

  4. mona says:

i get lost when i ponder on the scope and breadth of this saga.it satisfies me as much as the lord of the rings trilogy.add to that Edwards struggles revealed through midnight sun and i think that i would be perfectly happy having them as my only indulgence for ever on…and if Mrs.Meyer chooses not to finish {heaven forbid} i would be o.k. with it;i only ask for a small pamphlet describing their kiss in the meadow from his point of view….

    • Mark says:

how can u say that there needs to be so much more! i can’t stand thinking thats its finished forever 🙁

      • mona says:

hey, work with me here corndog, i’m trying to use a little psycology and make her THINK that everythings o.k.; like we’re NOT all pacing around palm-bumping our foreheads, twirling our hair, talking to ourselves..”everythings o.k.. he’ll be back,” “just you wait, you’ll see”…

  5. mira says:

stephaniiiiiieeeeeeeee if you dont finish it im going to cry!!!!
i just finished the partial draft about 5 minutes ago and i want the rest of so please upadte the partial draft as soon as possible
i am possibly the biggest twilight fan in the history of forever and i really wanted to see it from edwards perspective
especialy when bella meets alice and the kiss in the meadow and please describe every second and how it felt to him

<3love you and your writing also ive been dying to see what happens next!!!

  6. argie says:

well I totally agree with stephanie’s opinion. it’s on her to decide what she wants to do and not on the fans or the haters. when people are constantly asking you to do something then it has the opposite effect on you. so just do what you want Stephanie and don’t listen to others. me and all my friends think that all the fans should say the same thing and not make you do something you don’t want. also I think your writing is wonderful, expressive with really good descriptions. i don’t think anyone who read it will say that it’s boring or not worth reading. just know that we’ll always support you!!!

please forgive any of my mistakes. I’m from Greece so English is not my native language.

  7. eftychia says:

Stephenie please finish the midnight sun !! I would like to read another twilight book…especially Edward’s Version of Twilight because he is very interesting.!!Also i think your writting is wonderful with very good decription. The way you write leads me to read until the after midnight hours. Please stephenie finished the book 🙁

  8. Katie says:

Please finis midnight sun!!!!!! When I read the books I feel like I’m in another place like I am sitting right there through all the action. When the fight seen with the whole entire volturi was taking place I was on the edge of my seat but I also couldn’t put it down!!!!!!!! I get what u feel, honestly, but it isn’t fair to keep ur fans that have support u throughout the years waiting or never getting to read the end.( which I hope the saga never ends)!!! Please finish it. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Katie says:

Also I would really love to read it through Edwards perspective. I’m sure everyone who has read the books at one point stopped and thought ” I wonder how Edward thinks of this. Or what does Edward see and feel.” I know I have !!!!!! So anyways please finish it Stephanie PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Marissa says:

Stephanie all i can say is i want to be a writer and I was first inspired by you. So let me just say thank you. Also when i am trying to write, i don’t think about the haters, I think about those who would like to be taken away in the adventures i write. you have a lot of people, like me, waiting to be scooped up in another book. So please, please, PLEASE, finish this book. Though i understand what you mean about having this feeling that you need to write and i agree but please get cracking 🙂

  11. PLEASE says:

I feel like I’m being punished for something I didn’t do… but whatever… don’t finish the stupid book, We’ll just go read Harry Potter instead.

  12. Amber Ilyas says:

Speechless isn’t the right thing to say when I actually am..
But, you, Stephenie, can always depict and portray all the twilight saga’s moments while no one can’t ever do that..
I assume many people has already ‘please’ you all the time..
I don’t know, it’s all up to you.. Twilight is yours.. We will always wait it, especially me, especially before I die..
Kidding,, I’m still young, you know..
just remember this,, no one can ever insult you without your permission..
Don’t let that negative thoughts block yourself, please.. That’s the only thing I ‘please’ you about..
They don’t care what you feel, why should you?? I mean why should care about them, anyway..
    Love,
    Amber
P.S. Take care Stephenie.. Take a vacation to Bali,, you deserve it.. 🙂

  13. Maddie says:

Oh, my gosh!!!! I just finished reading your partial draft to “Midnight Sun” and it’s AMAZING!!!!! I think I’m like your biggest fan and I’m SUPER obsessed!! (hehe!) Anyway, I so agree with your decision and it wasn’t fair to you that someone illegally posted the partial draft and that you shouldn’t be forced to do anything. I really hope you do finish the book, though. I’m sorry because I know you wouldn’t feel right if we all forced you to do it. Anyway, your like my idol!!! Hope you finish!!!
    Good luck!!!

  14. Adri says:

Finish it when your ready there is no rush. You all need to calm down obviously you have no lives if all you care about is harrasing someone into writting a book. I would love it if she finished it, but if she doesn’t it isn’t life or death. I have better things to worry about like finishing high shool. Oh and i’m pretty sure there are other things out there for you to read. Good luck Stephenie, finish whenever the hell you want!!!!!

    • MadiLeigh'11 says:

this site needs to have a “like” button. i fully agree with you. stephanie needs to have time to herself to think. i paint, so i know how it feels when you’ve been doing the same work for so long. you get a little sick of it, and it does take a while to want to do it again. she’s made us all happy with the first four books, and a mini book for Bree. let’s be appreciative of what we have, and give her some space. in the words of the former, seriously stephanie, finish whenever the hell you want!! this is your life, your career, and your heart on the line. do what youre comfortable with, nothing more, nothing less. we’ll stand by you no matter what. it is safe to say that you have changed our generation forever, and i’m inclined to say for the better. you inspired us all to get our noses out of our laptops, and into the hardbacks. you go girl! never stop rocking the world, however you wish to do it. 😉

  15. Rosi says:

She won’t publish “Midnight sun” even if she finishes it. I’m qute sure about that ,so please, don’t expect too much.

    • Cat says:

What makes you think that?? I think she got Bree Tanner in her head and wanted to explain more about the Volturi, and probably now she is working on Midnight Sun. I think she will get it published because she knows so many of her fans would love it.

      • Rosi says:

Every book is like a child to his creator. The life of this one( I mean “Midnight Sun”) was interrupted before the chance to be born. I hope she will keep her promise to finish and publish the book but like I said I don’t think that she really will (three years already passed). I hope I’m wrong!!!!

  17. charlie says:

The only thing I can think about is finishing reading midnight sun. I feel like it’s such a waste that it go unfinished and unpublished. So many people rely on having a fantasy and a place to go when they can’t cope. Wishes don’t come true unless they are in stories but I really do wish just this once that the book could be completed as I feel like there’s always going to be something missing if I never read the end.

Obviously there is also the consideration that you don’t want to finish it because of the draft that was leaked, however you really will be denying more people the joy of reading your book than the amount of people that could be opposed to you finishing it.

  18. Lindsay K. says:

Stephenie, I’m glad you’re taking your time on your work. I’m a big fan of the series and I love what you’ve given all of us fans to look foward to, when you’re ready. The comment you made about being burned out on vampires is completely understandable. The amount of time and effort you’ve put into these novels, movies, and promotions is enough for a lifetime. You coming out with Edward’s point of view in Twilight is a genius idea!! It gives us the best of both worlds and it helps to understand the difference in both characters thought processes. I’m sorry that your draft got leaked and I understand your anger in not wanting to finish it. In your circle of trust, that person(s) should have respected you enough and the fans to keep it private. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but if you don’t decide to finish it, at least have a taste of what Edward was going through. If you do finally finish it and publish it, THANK YOU! Even when I was reading Twilight I’ve always wondered what was going through Edward’s head and you’ve granted my wish. I only hope that you can finish what you’ve started.

  19. Annu says:

Stephanie, I am not the bigest twilight fan but I really enjoy reading your books and I think your an Awesame person(: .I respect your opinion on not wanting to publish midnight sun because of the haters and you not being interested. But think you shouldent care or let people bring you down who care what they think about your wonderful book all that matter is what you think and what your faimily thinks. So I hope you publish midnight sun one day.

  20. Rosina says:

You are an amazing captivating writer. I always get sucked in to your books in an inescapable trance. I do hope you feel like it is time to carry on with midnight sun, I respect you for doing what you did, and deciding to stop. I’d feel mortified if that was to happen to me. But as much as we all long for the finished book, (I have not read the draft I want to read it as you intend it to be received) I hope you feel to finish it, for yourself. Your fans are behind you and I’m sure they will all be pleased when you do release the book, and they will fall in love with the ‘twilight saga’ all over again in a more passionate way…

We all love you and your talent.
    Stay happy and positive…
    Rosina x

  21. Diana says:

I hope you finishes it soon, the first chapters really captured me. I would also like to see all the books written from his perspective. We see it from Bella’s and Jacob’s, but I am so much more interested in Edwards. His struggles with the relationship, and what does he do the whole time he’s gone in New Moon? I think they would be the next top seller!!! We’re all here for you Stephenie, don’t worry about the haters, they will always be there, and they will get over themselves! Just do what you do best and write (Or not I’m not in no way looking forward to reading it lol) Good Luck!

  22. Nessa says:

I agree with how you feel totally. When I heard some one had leaked your story without you knowing, I was angry. What some people dont understand is that the chareters in your books are like real people to you. Its like you come home and their there. Watching tv,doing their hair , working on a car,or wrestling with a grizzly bear in the back yard. its very personal and i think every one should wait.. besides the longer we wait the better it will be.. we only have two more movies . plus the other storys you have done were great. but you know what story I really want to hear? i want to hear what happens with Ness and Jake.I think that would be a very good story or maybe some kind of space love or back to the past .i dont know.. in the long run it does not matter what we think you should write its waht you FEEL you should write. i wish the best of luck

  23. Blaine says:

I agree that we’ve all seen things through Bella and Jacobs eyes. The partial draft of Midnight Sun was completly amazing because for the first time we got to get into Edward’s head. I laughed and felt like crying reading this-not many books have this effect on me. Don’t ever doubt your writing ability, because with this story you have an incredible talent. So I do hope you finish the book for all of us waiting. And forget the haters-you have many more fans than haters.

Get Excited About This Again Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Melanie says:

I am a Twi-mom and the partial draft of Midnight Sun is the very 1st look into the Twilight saga for me, and now I’ve read every book (completely through) at least twice…I probably would have read more, but I have 2 teenagers and a home to look after, but I will find the time to read a completed Midnight Sun when it’s finished….Stephenie, you are a VERY talented writer and I hope you find the inspiration to at least finish this book and hopefully many more.

  25. sushmita says:

hey stephenie thanks to u tht i read books….. i love your books. they bring, passion, love n a dream to me….
as usual my frst qstn is bout midnight sun…….m waitin fr the book with a wide arm….hope u publish it soon m
    diein to read it……
    lots of love…………..

    • Dixie says:

A book is always going to be better than any movie you will ever see. You can use your own imagination and further the books are always more in depth than a movie can ever be. I’m glad you love to read, I think I would die without books and music, I probably will die with a book in my hands..

  26. Kassie says:

I like the Twilight series. It’s a good series. That said, I don’t like Stephenie Meyer. I had no real opinion of her until the whole Midnight Sun scandal. Until I saw her blog post on her website about the partial draft of Midnight Sun being illegally released, I didn’t even KNOW that it was illegally released. At first, I sympathized with her. Was it horrible that someone she seemingly trusted with the partial draft leaked it to the internet? YES. I am no way disputing that. However, come on.. take a few months to get over it and continue working. Now, it seems like she is purposely waiting until the fandom of the Twilight series dies down a bit(Perhaps after Breaking Dawn pt 2 is released?). At that point her cash flow and royalties will die down, and then I would guess that’s when she’ll suddenly get a renewed interest in the fantasy world she created and release Midnight Sun. I mean, business wise, that’s a great strategic move. The true Twilight fans will devour Midnight Sun and in the interest that it sparks it will make new Twilight fans which would equals cash for Meyer.

  27. Twilight lover! says:

Please finish the book! Don’t take your anger out on us. If some douche bag published the book its not our fault! Please do complete it and publish it. We are all begging you!

  28. Jenna says:

Stephenie, it’s cool. No worries. I love the series, and it was awesome to have another addition to it from The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, but you can’t live life to please others! Maybe theres another story of yours thats been dying to be heard? Fellow fans, reread the series if your’re seriously jonesing for twilight. Otherwise, read another series for a bit and be able to appreciate the next book when it finally does come out.

  29. missy says:

I did read the draft, but i know she will change it up alot from that draft. I read Twilight about 15 times to date and I have read the draft just about as much…I even read them together chapter for chapter which if you get a chance you really should. I love it and I as well as other fans can’t wait for it to be released. but i can also appreciate stephenie taking her time…it makes the long antisipated wait soooo worht it.

  30. S.L.Villegas says:

I totally get Stephanie about writing for others and not being ready. Being a fellow writer, there are moments when things just click. And then other times when things don’t and the material doesn’t pull you. Having written two books myself, I wait till that little voice tells me to work. Because when you hear it, then your material “Sparkles”. I plan 6 books for my series and each one thrills me. 😉

  31. Stormy says:

(I’m warning whoever may read this, it will be long. So, sorry in advance for all my ramblings. And it does get to midnight sun, but i have a story to tell first haha 😉 ) To be honest, i haven’t been a fan of the twilight saga long. In fact, I just became a fan last June. (Actually the first time I watched the movie twilight was in June! I know, a little late) I always thought it was a little dumb, so I never got into it. But my sister loves it. Anyway, after the movie was over, I was hooked. The next day I got the book out of the library and started reading. Let’s just say, I’ve never cried from a book before, or gotten so many butterflies. And, it kinda changed my life. Lol that sounded corny, but its true. Then i watched the movie new moon, then read the book of it. When Edward left in the book, I cried more then I’ve EVER cried. I think the books are better then the movies, to be honest, so I was more emotional. Then instead of watching the movie version of eclipse, I read the book first. Just to put a twist on things. I loved it obviously. Then came breaking dawn. It was hard as HELL deciding if i should read the book first, or watch the movie when it comes out in November. But I’m not a patient person, so I read the book. It was the longest to read not because it was the longest, but because I never really got into it as much as i did the others. Book 3 with Bella’s perspective was the best part of the book. Jacob’s part was my least favorite. I love him, but he was a bit boring to me. (By the way, I am on team Edward. Lol) I hope they make it better in the movie. Anyway, getting to midnight sun. Edward is my favorite character in the twilight saga. I love how he’s so incredibly selfless, caring, thoughtful, polite, protective and old fashioned with a bit of bad-boy side. So, i would LOVE to read a book in HIS point of view of twilight! I read the first chapter Stephenie put on her website. It was, thrilling. I’d thought Edward would have some romantic feelings for Bella in that first chapter, but its not really like that at first. He hates her, for, well, having such appealing blood and coming to Forks to taunt him with it. Also, Edward’s mind is really interesting to me. Now, sometimes temptation takes over me. So I’m going to read the first 12 chapters of midnight sun. It might take Stephenie forever to finish it, if she even does, and I don’t really feel like waiting to have a taste of the story, or never having the chance to read it at all. I feel guilty for doing this, but I just can’t take it. Twilight is my life, (mostly because my social life is slow, sort of like how Bella’s is Lol) and I need midnight sun. If Stephenie ever sees this, (although I can’t think of a reason she’d be looking at these comments other then motivation to start the book) I apologize. And also, “Don’t work on that stupid book! Nobody wants it anyway!” 😉 Oh yeah! And one more thing I have to add. I really do want Stephenie to take her time writing this. I wouldn’t want her to rush something this amazing. So, thanks to whoever sat here and read this whole thing. In case you didn’t know, I love to rant. Especially about twilight.

  32. Tarlei Klein says:

I used to want Midnight sun to be finished so badly but its just too drawn out now that i dont care. Its the same as the Breaking Dawn movie… I think theyv waited too long between the films and it gets too drawn out. Iv lost enthusiasm for it. I love the books and im greatful i got to read them one after another. Iv felt so many emotions through your books. Infact they have been the only novels i have read from start to finish in my entire life. I stayed up till 4am reading, unable to put them down till my eyelids finally gave up on me and closed. Midnight Sun left me with a feeling of desparation for you to finish it, then i became annoyed that you hadnt recommenced writing it, now im just over it. If it was me, i wouldv finished it, if not for myself but for my fans before they do lose interest like i have done. I truly do not care if this book ever gets created anymore and thats of your doing Stephanie Meyer and I seriously hope for your sake that there isnt too many people out there that feel like i do. However I do wish you well on future endevours.

  33. Stormy says:

Hey, its me again. I just thought i should say that I did read those first twelve chapters. (I just finished five minutes ago) I’m not going into detail but, I cried, (A LOT) laughed, and smiled really hugely. And I really do feel I know Edward better then before I started. If this isn’t completed soon, I think I may go insane. The thing Stephenie said about it feeling like homework, and being “burned out on vampires”, I REALLY don’t get after reading that part of midnight sun. The part where it was finished and I had to stop, it was getting GOOD. I wish at least I could read the part where Edward gets off his flight and arrives in Phoenix to see that Bella’s not there and then he reads her note. But, *sigh* I guess I’ll have to wait. I hope it gets done by next August, at least.

  34. elizangela says:

ai stephanie termina o livro por favor por favor por favor…………….beijo….i love you

  35. Thalia Y. says:

Love u one of ur many fans

  36. elona says:

we are your fans, plese write for your fans, dont look up everything was done. we still waiting for your books..all u the best..

  37. Misty says:

Stephenie I totally see where you’re coming from and you should wait until it’s the right time or it will be impossible to finish! But (of course there’s a but!) you are a GREAT writer and I believe anything you publish will be nothing less than fantastic!!! I was a “sometimes” reader before I got my hands on Twilight and now I keep trying to find more books like yours (The Host encluded) that keep me up at night because I just HAVE to know what happens next and I’ve found that they’re hard to come by. I’ve read and reread the Twilight series so many times that I can’t even count anymore and still my heart pounds and I’m eager to read the next line. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’ve made me into a reader, you’ve made books interesting, and I can’t thank you enough for opening my eyes! And I can’t wait to read Midnight Sun!

  38. LAUREN LARSON says:

STEF, OH PLEASE FINISH MIDNIGHT SUN, I WILL READ IT MORNING NOON AND NIGHT, I EVEN LOVED THE ONE YOU DID , THE NOVELETTE THE SHORT LIFE OF BREE TANNER , IT KIND OF PUT SOME THINGS TOGETHER THAT I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND IN THE MOVIES SO, PLEASE WE NEED MORE TWILIGHT FROM EDWARDS PERSPECTIVE, WE LOVE OUT VAMPIRES. 41. Elisabeth says:

Please write the series in Edward POV. There is still so much I want to know about Edward. Like his reaction in new moon and in breaking dawn. And some parts in twilight and eclipse. So please do it, fro the fans of the series.

  42. Adriana says:

Yes, i understend what stephanie meyer saids about inspiration and all that, but i also feel like im been punished for something i didnt do, sometimes i even think (and im wishing its not true) she is no longer inspired becouse her work is done, she already have the movies and the books, she already got wat she wants and it is the money. Like the students, why do some favor or extra homework to a profesor when he already send your note (10 of 10) to the estudent center? u already get wat u want of him, but steel love him 4 that note… hope the antagony works to explain myself and OF COURSE, hoping what i just said isnt it true, couse i want so badly to read the full storie and in a book . lol. Sorry for my english, im working on it 😛

  43. Mell says:

I have to agree, this book just has to be finished. I don’t understand how you can start something and not finish it, I mean it’s like 90% done, she just has to follow Twilight. I mean seriously, I want it to be done properly too, but I dont see how she can lose enthusiasm in Edward, the most intrguing chracter! I also agree that New Moon from his perspective would be awesome too. As a fan it really does stink, and I dont see how she can leave something half done. So sad and it truly sux, and I almost have to agree that it’s all publicity for after Breaking Dawn movies are done….I hate to say that of her, but how else can she justify leaving this book not done, when her fans are truly upset over it. Doesn’t really seem to care about the fans, just herself and the “haters”…

  44. Dixie says:

I will wait to read it when it’s in print, writers go thru so many changes that the rough draft is never going to be as good as the finished product.. I can’t wait, I know that Ms. Meyers is pretty down about having her trust broken but I hope that she will continue and finish the book. I’m terrible but I think that Bree Tanner deserves to be resurected, I would like to find out that the Cullens did not burn her and that she made it to Vancouver to be with Fred.. I would love to see a story about them. I would like to see a book with Alice too, that’s another character who deserves to be delved into .

Stpehanie ok here……………………..DON’T WRITE THE BOOK NOBODY IS GONNA LIKE IT ANYWAY DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE THAT SAYS TO FINISH THE BOOK BECAUSE I KNOW IT IS GOING TO BE TERRIBE! (reverse psycology :D)

  46. Tyla says:

Okay I read the rough draft already and Meyer should do it. When I heard about “Midnight Sun” I was like awesome (and I just heard about it from my cousin Sarah and I believe it great. When I was eleven years old just after “Breaking dawn” came out I fell in love with the books. two years before it took me a YEAR to finish a 300 page book and when I read the first book in two DAYS. so I believe that this is going to a good cause. When I read Edwards thoughts in the book I am surprised because he is right hi loves her more than she loves him. For example when Edward says ‘ “I’ll see you later then,” I said, trying for casual again, staring down at the whirling lid.’ Then he thinks “And, by the way, I adore you…in frightening, dangerous ways.” If I were Bella I would have loved for anyone I was in love with to be that much in love with me.
Ah how nice it would have be Bella reminds me much of my self. always falling and sliding. but i also see traits of alice in myself as always happy and dancing. and my brothers remind me of Rosalie with their arrogance. It’s lovely to be adored and I would love to have Edward as my sole mate be cause of his love that only grows for Bella ever second he becomes more obsessed with her. sorry off topic any way no words can explain how happy I am that she continues with the book.

  47. Tyla says:

PLEASE FINISH THE BOOK IT’S ALL MOST OF US HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. Cezanne says:

I just read Midnightsun and it is so amazing! To see and hear the world from Edward’s point of view is just… i don’t have words. I wish Stephenie M could write the whole Twilight Saga from Edward’s point of view as their are so many parts in the whole saga that is blank for me because I did not know what Edward was feeling, like in New Moon when He was away; I’d love to hear the scene in the tent in Eclipse from his point of view; what he really thinks of Jacob and felt when Bella kissed Jacob. I also the love the way I can learn so much more about the characters of the Cullen family through his mind-reading, everything makes so much more sense through his eyes, his pain, it is almost like a drug to me, I need to know more, I want to know every inch of the story!! I agree though that as soon as someone pressures you to do something, you feel like you want to rebel against it and I can totally see Stephenie’s point of view regarding finishing Midnightsun. But one day, when Edward is ready to let us read his thoughts fora change, Stephenie will wake up from a dream and know the time has come to let Edward tell the story. After all, if nothing else, I think Edward is owed that much.
Some of my friends do not understand why I love Twilight so much; To me it is almost like an echo of our depest emotions, the ones we never let anyone else see, and when we read it is almost like talking to a dear friend who knows everything about you and is almost taking your pain, anguish, love and longing on their own souls and carrying it for you. and we as the readers are running along on the journey. And what a magical, beautiful journey it is. Thanks Stephenie Meyer!!! May God bless you.

i love your writings. please give us more. i have never read anything more heartily than the twilight saga. and i thing no one can write like you do . your writings are at the same time descriptive and interesting also and that’s what i like. nobody hates you and can’t do that to you ever. so dont think about your haters[ they are not good persons if they can ever hate you and your writings]. i love you. please, please, please continue twilight saga.

  50. Jacqueline says:

That guy is right. no one wants this book. It was stupid enough the first time.

(Is that enough reverse psychology for you, stephenie? Please say yes. It’s been forever.)
