Volvo has a new game called “Lost in Forks” on their website. By trying to reach the Cullen’s house in the shortest number of forks in the road, you can be entered to win a Volvo like the one Edward drives in Eclipse (Volvo XC60)! Click here to play!
I JUST got my email inviting me to the final phase! And I only had 11 forks, so all of you who said you did it in 3,4,6,9 &10….

Could you only enter once? I did it the first time in 13, but went back in and did it in 11, but i never got an email. Did i screw up by submitting my 13?

Hello, I got the email as well. If you click on the decide your destiny it just takes you to a page congratulating you and telling you to sign back in on July 13TH
I got the email from Volvo too, and I finished in 11 forks.
It also gave me a link to a new contest page that says;
Congratulations!
You found the shortest route to the Cullen house and are through to the final phase.
The final will begin July 13th 10:00 AM PT.

I knew all those people posting that they got it in less than 11 forks were fishy. Volvo wouldn’t make the contest that difficult, it’s a marketing ploy for them, and they want the most people possible to get through to the final round.
Yes but the stirrup about how it was possible to get there in less than 11 forks…got them even more publicity don’t ya think ;]
Had you simply got there in 11 forks and nobody said they got it in 10 or less, then how many times would you have kept trying to kept thinking about it. It was all on my mind this week. Hooray for volvo. Maybe it was them who planted the “I got it in 3. HA. >:] ” to make us think.
Hmm… that is true! I’ve seen many stories about companies doing things like this to get more views or the like. And it probably did make their number of players spike up, on all of their sites. I played on the UK game to try and see if you could get it in less than 11 forks, and I know I’m not the only one.
If it was them, good job Volvo! You almost made me die from stress! Haha! xD

Just got my Confirmation letter.
So I’ll be seeing everyone on the 13th! Just remember that they’ll probably change the route so be prepared for that, and it’s the fastest time for completing the route and answering the questions!

the terms and conditions says….”Finalists will have to find the Cullen’s House again, view the scene and, after the “eclipse”, answer the three (3) questions about the scene in the shortest amount of time from the Start until the time they press “submit”.”
In the event of a tie, an essay will be a tiebreaker..the topic will be “If you were given an opportunity to stay at your age forever, would you choose to do so, and why?”

they might be sending them out in phases, but I got mine already. My friend got hers at the same time.

i did it in 11 forks 2 and i still didnt get the email either so the must me doin it in waves. Im so glad i made it :). Im really excited 4 the next stage. Im hoping its guna b really fun and interseting.

Steph2k, anything yet? I’m watching my email, too. Nothing yet but hopefully they are just sending them in phases like the other poster suggested. I know I submitted 11 twice just to be sure so I’m sure our confirmations are coming. : )

Everyone needs to check their Spam or Junk email folders if they havent received it yet.
Also, anyone in the UK needs to realize that their game is still open until the 20th, so they arent going to recieve any type of email until after then.
I received my confirmation at 7:54 pm and I made it in 11 forks! Alice and WP18 should be ashamed for leading people on like that.

I haven’t received mine yet either, but I also had it in 11. My last name starts with a K. I saw someone said they have theirs and their last name starts with O, so I’m not quite sure what Volvo’s distribution pattern is, but I’m sure our emails are coming eventually. : )

Im from the UK and my last name is B, so maybe they do it in the order of who did it first to last if yo know what i mean. I still havent got mine though and im getting a little anxious! But i submitted my 11 forks like 7 times just to make sure, would that have screwed it up?

The rules state it is for “… legal residents of the U.S. (except residents of Puerto Rico, all U.S. territories and possessions and overseas military installations).” They probably filtered out anyone with email addresses from outside the US, so that might be why some people haven’t received confirmations.
The rules also stated that you could enter as many times as you wanted, meaning you had to put your information in over and over again. I think i entered about 30 times. I WANT THAT CAR!! he he
I still haven’t received my confirmation either. I did mine in 11 forks also. Perhaps it is being done by birth date.
At the beginning, you select which country your from, I’m sure that they wouldn’t have put the UK on the list if it wasn’t open to uk residents. On my T&C’s it says for UK residents only. so it’s obviously different for every country. But have any other UK entrants not received the email?

i got mine yesterday morning. and im kinda bumbed they are gunna change it cause i made a huge map of the whole pace. lol. it should be the same and who gets the questions right in the fastes time. do u think we should go the same whay and just see what happens? i realy wish we could enter more then once so we can practice and find the house first. its realy gunna be just luck theone who finds the house first. i guess thats why they have the questions.

Check your spam folder. That’s where mine was!
my gmail account doesnt have a spam folder
…but does your account have some sort of ‘spam-like filter’, that may divert email communications that would be deemed ‘unecessary’? Maybe if you check your email registration instruction button, you may find something that describes it.

Alice was really pulling a LOT of your chains. I didn’t believe her when she was talking about “shortcuts”. The first phase of volvo games are easy, and as you go to higher levels they get harder.
I got it in 11. There were no shortcuts. And yeah, there are things in the background but that’s to trick you. Make you think that Volvo is tricking you into thinking there’s a shorter route.

oooomg seriously? The contest for the UK doesn’t even END till Next month. August 20th. -_- people need to learn to read. I know the U.S. is a bunch of spoiled brats that mainly think about ourselves and makes other countries think about us, but nothing is ever going to be the same in 2 countries.

I got my confirmation and I did it in 11 forks! That means everyone who said it was shorter lied and everything alice sucked everyone into is a lie. Why do people have to be so mean about things? I don’t understand what pleasure you got out of it!

I think that they won’t change the routes, they’ll just have us start from a different location and we won’t know which one until we hit the enter button, but that’s just my theory 🙂 any thoughts? Good luck to everyone who made it through, see you on the 13th!

I think they will have go from the house back to where we began to watch the Eclipse but that is my theory. Read into the fine print. But the again you never know they maybe trying to confuse us into tripping ourselves up. Good luck either way to everyone in the final phase remember it is in PT time if you live any where else remember to set you alarms to PT 10am!!
You do realize you don’t have to do it right at 10? You have two days to complete it.

I still haven’t got my email. I have been checking my spam folder too. The rules state everyone who has the right amount of turns will be in the final phase. This is a bunch of crap. I’ll be buying a new car in the next couple of months and was thinking about a volvo, but if they aren’t going to follow their own rules I’ll spend my money somewhere else.
i was reading through the rules and it said only a certain number of people who had the shortest rout would be able to go on to the final phase cuz on july 5th (day after it ended in the u.s.) this is right from the site> “On or about July 5, 2010, the Sponsor will determine the number of Entrants who will advance to the Final Phase. In the event that more than one (1) Entrant completed the First Phase with the lowest number of forks (as determined at the sole discretion of the Sponsor)
If you read a little farther down in bold lettering it says…”All of those entrants who have tied in the first phase to be eligible to be finalists will be sent an invitation congratulating them and advising them of the 48 hour final phase window during which they must return to play.”
Terri: Why don’t you send them an e-mail before jumping the gun? I’m sure they can enlighten you (and all of us) about why some people have received e-mails and others haven’t, even with having 11 forks. My hubby entered with 11 forks and hasn’t received his e-mail either, even though I have.
Heather: That’s an interesting thought. I sincerely hope they don’t change the route, but I can see them having you start at a different spot and having to figure it out from there. I’m not looking forward to the one-shot deal.

Hey how did you find an email to use? I made it in 11 also and haven’t received an email. I’ve checked my junk folder and everything.
I went to volvo.com and clicked on cars and united states. At the bottom of the page was a “contact us” and I clicked on that and there were several different options listed to contact them.

No I never received an email. I thought maybe it was because I didn’t check the box to receive correspondences from Volvo. I can’t think of any other reason. I am the only one at this computer so that can’t be the reason. I found a link to play the second round on another site. It said anyone could play, but if you didn’t get an email you wouldn’t qualify to win the car. I took a chance anyway. Thanks for asking.
My husband and I also both entered the contest, but only I received an email. He thinks that Volvo will only send one pass to the second phase per IP address. In other words, one entry to second phase per computer. Have no idea if that is true or not, just a thought.
@Molly- I don’t think that’s right because both my brother and i entered the contest from the same computer and both of us recieved e-mails.
Like I said….just a thought. It’s strange he never got his email though.

there still probably sending out the emails. every1 who got 11 forks should get an email and even if u dont i would still go on the 13th and see if u can play. if u dont get an email and cant play i would send them a ton of emails and if that doesnt work call and ask what happened. even before the 13th u should call and get 2 the bottom of it. i hope u get your emails and good luck.

I was sitting at a traffic light today getting ready to make a left hand turn when I saw a silver C30 exactly like the one Edward drove in the first Twilight. I’ve never seen one before so I got pretty excited! When he turned I got to see the back end really well. That’s my favorite aspect of the car…that big window, large tail lights and the words VOLVO on the hatch. It was really sweet!
Does anyone know who is in the picture at the Cullen house?
It looks to me like someone is sitting in the black Volvo, but I don’t see anyone in the silver Volvo.
On the steps — looks like Rosalie and Quil to me… but that doesn’t make much sense, does it?
Inside (window on the right) – I would guess Edward and Carlisle… but since we can’t see their faces, I’m going totally on body language.

ok so i was checking my inbox over and over trying to find the letter because i got there in 11 just like everyone else and i couldnt find it the i looked in my spam box (which i didnt know how to find till i typed it in on the top of my email) i found it today i cant believe it took me this long. but im glad i found it. the next round i think is going to be really hard for me because it took me like 5 hours if not more to find the cullens home. im not very good at timing games. im not really in this game to win just to have a good time doing it. hope everyone has a fun time trying to win. see you in the game world on the 13th.
