My favorite parts are bella and charlies sex talk and rose and jasper back stories they were so good and david slade did a great job directing and the whole cast was AMAZING (p.s. I love u guys love the podcast can’t wait for the next one

Absolutely my fav so far! I was so happy with the script, I found the dialogue itself flowed so much better in this movie. There weren’t as many awkward pauses mid-sentence which was a HUGE relief for me… that really worked my nerves in the other films. The witty qwips through out the movie were just wonderful, I realize they had some in the other two but in this one they weren’t as cheesy and awkward. The fact they were able to keep so much of the book in this one was nice to see. I know you can’t please everyone all the time, and there are still people saying they left out this or that. WELL… you’re gonna have to leave out some things and change a few others… that’s what happens when you take a book FULL of very specific details and turn it into a 2 hour movie. For the most part I think it was right on! David Slade did a GREAT GREAT GREAT job! It only gets better the more I go see it! BRAVO!!!!!!!

    XOXO

Best film so far for me as well. No cheesy moments, smooth scene transitions. Stephanie so brilliant to release Bree Tanner Short Novella before the movie’s release. Great way to launch eclipse with Riley’s story (Kudos to Rosenberg and Slade);. So hard to pick a favorite scene; there were so many…Hmmm, I’m a romantic, so if I had to choose it would be the bedroom scene proposal…..just loved the dialog and how well Slade stay true to the essence of the book so movie viewers who didn’t read the book now have an understanding of why the Twilight Series appeals to the young and old and both sexes. The tent scene also had some surprising dialog which showed ;who was the more in control/mature vampire versus adolescent emotional teen wolf. The battle fight scenes keep my husband engaged. All & all is was a great movie. Saw it twice and look forward to seeing again if friends decide to go. Glad to see there’s hope for Chivalry in today’s generation.

Eclipse is the best of this series so far, by far! Hardwick did her job by bringing it to life on a small budget and I think did the right thing by giving it that indy feel. On New Moon, I am not sure if it was Weitz that dropped the ball, or if some of the actors (Stewart, Greene) just couldn’t get a feel for the emotions or if it was Rosenburg’s writing but it came across as choppy and had few parts that truly looked like the book or happened the way it did in the book or felt emotionally like the book. David Slade, Rosenburg and the cast all did a much better job on Eclipse. You finally got some of the feelings of the horror that is actually very well given in the books in regards to the dangers of the vampires. Nearly everywhere they shot the scenes looked almost identical to the way you would picture from reading the book (couple of exceptions – had the bed facing the door in Edward’s room and Bella wasn’t standing near the rock wall at the tent scene during the fight) and they were minor. I don’t know if it’s just that they are all just getting to a more in-sync point, maturing, etc. or if the Weitz crew just wasn’t a good click. But everyone I’ve tallked to has been very, very pleased with this one, are watching it several times & can’t wait for the DVD already! Thank you all for finally getting this one right!

  5. Jen says:

Definitely my favorite so far! I think the movie prepared us and got us really excited for the finale. The things I liked definitely outweighed the things I didn’t. The two things that I didn’t like are Victoria. I love Bryce as an actress, but really wished we could finish out the series with Rachelle. The other piece I felt that was missing, was Bella’s breakdown after leaving Jacob in bed at the end. I found this part in the book very important, and was a bit surprised it was left out.
But, I have to say, the humor was great. I really enjoyed Jasper in this movie and Edward didn’t look in pain all the time. I liked the action, the scene with Bella and her mom and the final scene in which Bella explains that she belongs in Edward’s world. I loved that scene. There is more, but this is what stood out for me.

  6. Ashley says:

As everyone has said – it was the best of the three, by far! Great story line and covered the best parts of the book, smooth transitions and great directing!

The Bella and Charlie sex scene had me laughing hysterically! I really feel that the most tense and theatrical moments of the book were portrayed very well in the film. David Slade hit the nail on the head with this film!

I do agree though with Jen. I think that Bella’s love for Jacob is a crucial part of who she is and who she become. I think that it might have served the audience to have seen Bella’s breakdown after she left Jacob…even a small portion of it. I was also kind of sad that the slumber party scene where Alice kidnaps Bella wasn’t in there – only for the humorous side of it…but I completely understand that you only have a certain amount of time for the movie…so as least the got the most important parts!

But I will say that I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Break Dawn!

  7. Dawn says:

I loved it all 5 times I’ve seen it! I am not one to listen to the critics. Most of the movies I love or enjoy, they never seem to like. They’re too picky and single minded. I plan on seeing the movie at least 5 more times before it leaves the theater. I’ve got to see it as much as possible before we get that time between it leaving the theater and coming out on DVD. I’ve already watched my Twilight and New Moon DVDs so many times I’ve lost count – and I’ve bought back up DVDs for them both, in case something happens. Now when Breaking Dawn hits the theater, I’ll probably see it every day it’s out. Breaking Dawn is my favorite book in the series – so I can’t wait till it’s out!!!

  8. Amber says:

I loved Eclipse! It most definitely lived up to my expectations. Eclipse has always been my favorite book of the saga and I was so glad to finally see it potrayed on screen. My favorite scene would have to be the one where Edward gets down on one knee and asks Bella to marry him. I loved the way he tells her how different things would have been so long ago, it made the scene more ‘close to heart’ for him. Another reason that it is my favorite scene has a little to do with the song My Love by SIA, that song so fit the mood. It was my favorite movie so far.

  9. Carmen says:

I loved the movie. It had many of my favorite scenes and lines. Funny and I enjoyed the laughter. I did miss a few scenes I had wished were kept in the movie but I do understand that the movies can’t be exactly as the books. I am glad the Tent Scene came out well. I liked how they put small details in the movie that were in the Bree Tanner book, especially Edwards Line to Jane “her name was Victoria, maybe you knew her”
I watched it twice on opening day. Once in IMAX which was AWESOME and the second time in regular screen. So prefer IMAX.
The flow of the movie was good and I mean the book only takes place in a few months time so the speed of the movie was good for it.
I did miss the Alice and Bella relationship. I mean they are suppose to be best friends and you can’t really tell that in the movie. Also missed the whole kidnapping stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚
But overall (which is the important part, right?) I LOVED THE MOVIE and WILL be seeing it again soon.

  10. grace says:

i absolutely loved Eclipse!! It’s my favorite book of the series and also the movie now!! I wish i could of watch more of it though! i went with my grandma and she had no clue what was going on so she kept asking questions!! like, whos that? or like what are they doing? it got soooo annoying that i finally just said shut up! The she got mad at me and didnt talk again during the movie.. oh well… she got over it. But back to about the movie.. IT WAS THE BEST MOVIE OUT OF THE SERIES SO FAR!!!! No doubt about it.!!!! i loved how in the tent scene they had jacob say to edward “After all i am hotter than you!” It was something like that but that made my laugh soo hard after!!! But, all jacob lovers know its true!! sorry to the people who think edwards hotter but he’s just not. My mom went and saw it and after every movie she said that edward looked constipated!!!! Well, thats what i think and my little stories about the books and movies experienses… I can’t wait to see it again!!! love love!!!!! โ™ฅโ™ฅ

  11. Team Jacob/Taylor!!!!:) says:

    Hey girls!!:)
I love the podcast! You girls are AWESOME!!!
I love Eclipse! Defiantly the best of the 3 movies!!!( and my favorite book anyway, so that maybe why I liked it so much)! It really was great! Even my brother (who hates twilight) wants to see it because of the action! I like it not only because of the action but also becase of Taylor!!!!!!:) I loved the kiss between Taylor and Kristen! And the Scene with Taylor, Kristen, Billy, & Robert about Jake kissing Bella was HIRLARIOUS!!!!!!! I really LOVED the movie and hope to see it MANY MANY MORE times!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
LOVE the podcast!!!! yall are amazing!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!:)

  12. Team Jacob/Taylor!!!!:) says:

    opps! forgot somethin!:)
I ABSOLUTLY LOVED the tent scene!!!! and the part where Rob asked Kristen is Taylor has a shirt!!! both amazing parts!!!:) I also agree with grace(above comment) that sorry to Edward fans but Rob isnt hot! Taylor is WAY hotter & MUCH better lookin!!!!:)

  13. Mindy says:

I thought is was good the cast did a great job. I didnt like how much of important parts from the book was left out of the movie. The book is about the love between Edward and Bella, the movie was all about the fight coming. I agree that the parts with alice are very missed in the movie and played a important part. Edward mood was to serious he didnt soften up till the end. The fans love the books because of the love story!! I hope Breaking Dawn can be more like the book. I have read all the books at least 8 times and they are amazing!!! Go Team Edward!!!!!!

  14. Lili says:

I hardly dare to say it since everyone is so enthousiastic, but for me the movie was more disappointing. I LOVE the books, but
I don’t like the way Edward is portrayed in this movie. It starts in the first scene, as if Edward (100%-correct Edward) would distract Bella from her homework… And if you haven’t read the books, do you even understand that he is not just desperately asking her to marry him, but sees this as a way to postpone her transfiguration?

Throughout the movie, it feels as if Edward hems Bella in, and he doesn’t seem to learn to let her be free like in the books.
And then, I know that it is always necessary to leave out parts of the book, but I don’t like it when things are changed. There is almost no break between Bella kissing Jake and Bella agreeing to marry Edward. Or what about this scene with the motor bike, first Jake and Bella argue, and then she jumps on his bike to spend the day together?!

Finally, sorry, but Rob needs to articulate better and mumble less, especially(!!!) in the scene where he proposes to Bella.
Ok, now you can tear me apart for my comments…

PS: I like the actors. They look like I imagined the characters and they are a nice movie-couple.

  15. Lili says:

Oh, and the scene where Bella punches Jake in the face, either Kristens acting or the cut is terrible.

  16. Lara says:

I loved it! My favorite parts were the tent scene, the sex talk with Charlie, when Bella tries to seduce Edward, and the backstories. I am very close to being on team Jasper! I was so glad to see more of him, but I wish Emmett & Esme would have been in it more. I also hate that they left out the Alice kidnapping Bella scene. I love it when Bella leaves the message for Edward that grizzly bears will look tame compared to what is waiting at home for him. Love that! Also glad that Riley & that whole story was there.
But, I do think it is the best movie so far. I think David Slade did a great job with the action scenes & with the sweet scenes with Bella/Edward, Bella/Renee, Bella/Jacob, etc.

  17. Jenna says:

AHHHH! Hi gals :)… i am so excited that Eclipse was such a success! It lived up to every aspect i can imagine. Melissa yet again did amazing with the script, all the actors made suchhhhhh an improvement! Not they they were bad before but, the acting was much much more together this time around. I was so happy to see that Edward was finally loveable in this film, the first two he was sooo tense and in the 3rd installment we got to see his “in love” side. like, complete devotion to Bella. ugh… i melted! so lovin Edward! haha… Also!… Bryce Dallas Howard… she nailed it. LOVE her as Victoria, i was sooooo nervous about that role since i loved rachelle so much but… Kudos to Bryce for sure!…. David Slade was the perfect choice for this movie, the scenes were exceptional, the action was intense, and there was a perfect flow throughout, u can’t get up for a sec! you’ll miss something huge!! HIGHLIGHTS: Anything with Charlie, Edward/Jacob bickering, the flashbacks, the fight where both clans collide on the field, CHILLSSSSS! ๐Ÿ™‚ …. the only thing i didn’t like…. (ugh, i really hate mentioning this because the movie as a whole was the best by farrrrrr)….what i didn’t like was the “vampire’s stone insides” …if that makes any sense…lol. Like, when the newborns were outta control and one of them killed the other while Riley was telling bree not to get killed, those vamps looked like some terminator silver crap inside. lol, and when Edward killed Victoria… she was like one of those icy, purpleish, glass looking rocks inside. it was… werird. how do u guys feel about that?
P.S… I seriously went to see it 3 days in a row because i couldn’t get it outta my head. haha… love ya’ll!
P.S.S… u girls looked fabulous for the Stephanie Meyer Junket, very purrty ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. Raven says:

Did anyone notice that they left out a VERY IMPORTANT line? In the book, after Bella kisses Jacob on the mountain they talk about how she feels about him (she tells him she thinks of him as her personal sun, etc. etc.) and I think it’s Jacob that says, “But you love him more. I get it.” And then he says, “But I can’t fight an Eclipse.” An ECLIPSE, get it? That line explains the whole reason for the title of the book! Man, I can’t BELIEVE they left that out of the movie. Did I somehow miss it? I was waiting and waiting…

Anyways. I liked the movie. I was a little bored in some places (some how it’s just not as exciting as New Moon). And I didn’t like the visual effects of the battle.. And I hated Bree’s acting. Maybe it was the dialogue… I don’t know. But this is what we got and it was lame: “What did you do to me? *gasp* *gasp* *pathetic-ness*” BLEH.

Brice Dallas was ok. I still wistfully regret that she had to come in though. She just isn’t Victoria to me. But whatever, the character is dead now. It’s done. I’m going to move on.

Tent scene was great. Proposal was great. The Talk between Charlie and Bella was hilarious. I so loved that. xDD Jessica’s speech was FANTASTIC. That’s a big change from the book but it’s good.

But my favorite scene of the ENTIRE movie, even though it’s super brief, is when Rosalie bursts through the hotel room doors in her dress. I wish they’d lingered on her face slightly longer. So. Freaking. Awesome. I loved those flashbacks, and Rosalie’s rueful smirk at the end when she said, “I was a little… theatrical.” Kaa! Great <3

And a small thing, I liked the very beginning, the way that they wove Bella's reading of Fire and Ice into the actual story by having her read it for an assignment, and read it outloud to Edward. It was perfect. And he looked great in the meadow.

Also, Kallie, I'm with KASSIE! The movie is too bright! I didn't notice it at first but once she pointed it out I was like, "Oh man, SHE'S SO RIGHT!" Come on, Twilight WAS too blue. But Eclipse is definitely too UN-blue. There was beautiful cinematography but the ONLY time in the whole movie that I ever felt like I was IN FORKS was the very beginning of the movie when it was actually raining. (And that was Seattle, right, not forks?) So go Kassie, you are right. They just did not set up the right atmosphere at all, to fit their supposed location.

  19. DallasNewBorn says:

I think I know exactly why we all (me included) “think” the movie was great. Because we all read the books and were kindda of dissapoited with the first two. This movie was closer two the books, which it’s great, but has many things that were not ideal, and could have been easily fixed. I agree with Kassie 100% the movie was too bright!! Way too many close ups and lack of emotion on Kristen. It was good but it could be waaaay better. Marcela

  20. Paige B says:

    Liked:
All the Edward and Bella scenes! Ahhhh! Haha. Love. And I liked how the movie flowed because with all the events it could have been confusing to follow.
    DISliked:
When the cullens were chasing Victoria it just seemed out of place. Like way too “dark”, didn’t really fit in with the look of the rest of the movie.

    -Paige (:

  21. Josiah says:

I think I may have already commented, but I can never say enough good things about this movie. For my review, I’ll pull a Kassie and just put the pros and cons of the movie.
Pros: It was awesome! Not only for the Twilight fans but also for the average movie-goers because of the great character development and lack of as many cheezeball lines. — The emotions which were felt in the book were also acknowledged in the movie (i.e. Edward vs. Jacob, the Jacob kiss and punch, etc.) — Viewers understood Bella’s choice and the consequences which came with those choices (a good example is when she’s in Florida, hugging her mom and saying she misses her) — Much more action —- Good we were able to see a little into the Bree Tanner story, seeing how the Newborns live until they go into battle — They kept all the histories/backgrounds, and I, like Kassie, liked the Quiluete scene, even though I hated it in the book.
Cons: At first I thought it was a con, but now it’s a pro: I thought the movie was way too fast, with scenes changing in a flash. But after I watched it for the second time, I found it to be just right, not too slow — The doggone humans were a con for me: Billy Burke’s performance was quite dull in this movie; he didn’t use many facial expressions, he seemed very bored, and I was just not satisfied with this portrayal of Charlie (I liked him in the previous films, though). Jessica was also a problem. Just the fact that she was there, as Bella’s friend bugged me; she’s supposed to be her enemy (but for continuity’s sake, I can see why they did this for the film). Angela should’ve had more scenes. Specifically the scene in the book where Bella helps with her grad invites. That scene was almost crucial to the book because Bella thinks about all the things she leaves behind in her life — I didn’t like the way the vamps died, crumbling, literally like granite.

    • Josiah says:

*Correction: I didn’t HATE the Quiluete legends, they were just very… tedious to try and read (so I pretty much skim/skip that chapter each time I’ve read Eclipse)

  22. THE BIGGEST TEAM JACOB FAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

when i saw eclipse i ddnt rele care much for it but as i thought bout it and took it all in now i think i would give it a 9/10
there was a lil in humor in eclipse. i luved the charlie bella “talk” and when edward said sdoes jacob own a shirt lol
alot of people laughed including me when bella said she was switzerland idk i thought it was sorta funny and me and my friends sorta cracked up
i was team edward all through new moon but now i have became a proud member of team JACOB!
my fav part was when…..well there was alot of good parts but my fav has to be roasiles story
idk i luv how she came bac for royce it was a lil scary but i liked it
i ddnt like how they changed victoria tht ruined alot for me and my friends
love the podcast! keep podcasting haha

  23. goly says:

I dont know why but i had another expectations for the movie ,im not telling its bad i just think its ok and i must agree with lili.
(maybe its beacause i’ve read the book like 40 times ๐Ÿ˜› ).I mean in the book after jacob kisses bella he is not that intens and angry.and the punching !!! i think the cut is wrong, and i wish that the party scene would be longer and we could actually see the conversation and intensity between jasper ,alice, jacob and bella, but The Talk between Charlie and Bella was hilarious ,and the begining that bella reads the poem is great and i love the new look for jasper and alice,i cant wait for the next movie ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. alisha loves jacob says:

    hi gals:)
i just want to say that eclipse was much much better than the others.reason 1: i liked the book –not liked- LOVED <3
reason 2:there was much more jacobbb ๐Ÿ˜€ bella's confusion about her feelings were well acted.my fav parts were when jacob says that he loves bella and the flashback scenes(all of them) but the worst one was when bella tries to make love with edward.ฤฑ thought that she is just a human.OK, amorous love blahblah… thats romantic but she just tries to have sex?!?
and ฤฑ was very sad about the missing scene when jacob tells that he is bellas sunshine.the words were so touchy that ฤฑ cried while reading.but there wasnt a piece of cute sentences in the movie ๐Ÿ™

  25. Carly "Renesmee" Cullen says:

    Hi ladies!!!

I thought I would list things like you did in the podcast.

    Dislikes:
I agree with Kassie that the scenes were to bright. The one I noticed the most was in the school parking lot, you can see the sun reflecting off of Edward’s hair.

    Likes:
Emmett – we finally got to see him as the goofball he is. He had some great one liners!!!
Sparkling – There was not twinkling this time. I also like how it reflected off of Bella’s face when she was near Edward.
The Score – It is actually noticeable and you can listen to it and see parts of the film.

    Favorite Scenes:
    Bella punching Jacob
    Bella-Charlie sex talk
    Bedroom Proposal
    Graduation

    Favorite Flashback:
Mine is actually Rosalie. I think they did a really good job showing what her life was like. I know they didn’t talk about Vera’s son, but I think with the dialogue before and after helped show that she did want children and grandchildren.

    Music:
I think you guys are totally right about about the music. I felt the same way about Eclipse and New Moon, Twilight was the only movie where the music fit perfectly. If you haven’t listened to the score, you should. I could actually hear it while watching the movie, which I haven’t been able to do for the other movies. The score is really noticeable in the very beginning with Riley being chased. I think the music for Breaking Dawn will fit better because Bill Condon has worked on a few movies were music played an important role.

Overall, I like Eclipse more than Twilight and New Moon. I think they did a much better job translating the book. I was not upset about scenes missing or being changed. I also liked how the dialogue was more exact or closer to being exact.

    Love the podcast!!

    Carly

  26. Jana says:

IMO Eclipse is the best movie so far. I disliked Twilight to an unbelievable extent (very cheesy) and thought New Moon was okay. I purposely did not re-read Eclipse recently because I wanted to be able to get into the movie. It worked. I really loved the interaction and dynamic between Bella and Edward. For the first time throughout the movies, I feel like they got it right. Loved the score, it was simple and not too โ€œin your faceโ€. I donโ€™t feel like anything important to the story line was left out and nothing out of character was added in (except that I donโ€™t think Bella would have left Edwards side to go with Jacob on the bike). Other than that though, I loved it, loved it, loved it! The acting is WAY better in this one! It was the first movie of the three that drew me in to the world Stephenie Meyer created. The other two (for me) just scratched at the surface.

Oh -also, the grad speech from Jessica. It was okay for Bella, but really bad for the young adults today. If they aren’t faced with immortality, be as reckless as they want, because there is no consequence for their actions. Did I get too much out of that scene? ๐Ÿ™‚

    David Slade rocks!

  27. Jessica says:

    Hi ladies!

Totally loved Eclipse, best of the three movies so far (and my favorite book in the series as well). I agree with a lot of the other comments as far as favorite scenes, like the tent scene, Charlie’s sex talk with Bella, etc. I didn’t love the way the vampires shattered/crumbled in battle…seemed to go against how Stephanie had described it since they can repair themselves with venom. Can’t repair if they’re totally shattered.

My big nitpick or issue was with the meadow scene at the very end. I didn’t catch it the first time I watched but it really jumped out at me the second time. Bella starts talking about how she’s choosing this life, she belongs in that world, and how it’s not just about Edward (he even says “so it’s not just about me?”). This seemed really out of character for her and with the series, like someone was trying to make Bella some kind of slightly more feminist prototype instead of focusing on Bella and Edward’s love story. Didnt’ know if anyone else had noticed it or if it was just me, but thought I’d throw it out there. Overall loved the movie though!

    Jessica

  28. Brinean C. says:

So I just saw Eclipse it was good alot better than Twilight a little better than New Moon but I don’t see why everyone is freaking out saying it was incredible. Yes, it was good. Yes, I do LOVE Twilight, but I think all the hype and excitement over Eclipse was a bit exaggerated. Maybe it was because I saw it 2 weeks after it was released, maybe it was because I saw it with my dad instead of going with my friends like I have done for the other two movies. Don’t get me wrong I did love the movie but I just don’t think I can go and get all hyped up about it like everyone else. Maybe I just need to see it again because I was to busy trying not to be nit-picky. That is just my opinion.

  29. Wendy says:

I’ve seen Eclipse twice…the first time at a midnight premiere sitting WAY too close to the screen, the second at a much more reasonable distance….and overall, I enjoyed the movie.

I really enjoyed all the backstories, especially Jasper’s. I would have loved one shot of he and Alice in the diner in Philadelphia, but it would have been an expensive 5 seconds to add! I was so glad that we finally got exposed to a bit of Jasper’s character in this film, and I thought the training sequence was fun.

I really liked the pacing in this film–especially in the dialogue. Bella and Edward finally sounded like two people having a normal conversation. There were no long pauses between each line, and it didn’t seem like every line was of utmost importance. And, they finally got to a bit of the joking and teasing snarkiness that they have sometimes in the book. I think Bella and Edward finally looked like they had a relationship.

Other favorites included the scenes with Bella and her Mom, Bella and Charlie, the proposal scene and Jessica’s graduation speech.

Now, there were a few things I didn’t like about the film. First, was that Bella never had to sneak off—or try to sneak off–to see Jacob. Edward doesn’t fight her going with Jacob at school. While this might have been done to contradict the complaints that “Edward’s too controlling” which are constantly made, it diminishes how much trouble Bella will go to to get to see Jacob.

Also, I agree with many posts I’ve read that we should have had a glimpse of Bella’s future while she was kissing Jacob. I would have loved to see a few flashes of she and Jacob with their children on the reservation. The “what if”…… Personally, I never got the feeling there was really a choice there. The kiss was to save him from deliberately being killed in battle, nothing else. It never made Bella really question her decision to marry Edward.

I wasn’t a big fan of how the film opened, mostly I think, because I loved the opening of “New Moon”. That opening really set a tone, and made you feel like you were about to see an event. This just seemed so abrupt and confusing. But then again, maybe that’s what they were going for! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, didn’t love Bella’s speech at the end, only because I felt the movies set her up to make that speech. All the talk about being clumsy….which was never really done that well in the first film or carried over well. And then not belonging in “this world”. We never really established she didn’t have friends in Phoenix–and she certainly had a circle of friends in Forks. And they could have established more of how responsible and mature Bella is—-taking care of Charlie, doing all the cooking, doing well in school–which would have set her apart from the rest of the teenagers in the film. For me it just came out of nowhere. Plus, in the book, doesn’t she say that she IS having the big wedding for Charlie and Renee, since it will be one of the last things she can give them?

Now..two things that drove me crazy–

First, Bella does NOT cut herself with the rock during the Edward/Victoria battle in the book. She has every intention to, but it’s actually her gasp that attracts Victoria’s attention, not the blood. I know it’s more visually dynamic to have blood running down your arm, but that just bothered me!

Second, the film seems to have totally forgotten the fact that Alice’s vision doesn’t work around the wolves. Alice is standing right near Jacob and the boys at the party when she sees that the newborn army is coming to Forks. And then during the battle, when she’s seeing the Volturi’s approach, the wolves are right there in the field. This was also part of the way Bella is able to run off to La Push….oh wait…that’s right…she doesn’t do that either! ๐Ÿ˜‰ But wasn’t this concept introduced in New Moon? It’s why Alice thinks Bella is dead? I haven’t watched the movie in a while but I ‘m pretty sure it was there. It just bugged me that it seemed to be ignored this time.

I do try really hard to view the films as their own separate entities, and I think that’s the trick. I don’t expect every detail to be the same as the books, and I realize that things need to be cut and altered for ease of storytelling and because it’s a visual medium. Overall, I’d say that Eclipse accomplishes telling the basic story well.

So far I’ve seen eclipse twice and I thought in the movie they really managed to get the personalities of the Cullen family across really well, especially Emmett. I also thought the fact that they used some of the lines straight from the book was great because it links the movie in with the book on another level. The only part of the book i was dissapointed wasn’t in the movie was the part when Alice kidnappes Bella for the weekend, i would have thought that would have been really fun for the actors to film and for us to watch.
Overall i would say that this is an amazing movie and is my favourite out of the three twilight movies so far!!!

I was expecting more violence and action, which didn’t hapeen and I’m grateful. Bella was all the time so similar – it starts to be a bit boring. The Kiss between Jacob and Bella reached 0 points for passion. Why Slade pulls the camera making it romantic kiss, when it was supposed to be musch more advanced kiss in heat that Edward would allow himself. Bella was supposed to be confused afterwards. Didn’t happen. Male director to blame… Wish Catherine was there.

Edward was really strange in this movie. He didn’t have the vampire-coldness at all. No magnetism. He was so emotional and vulnerable – no strength of any kind anymore. It was strange. Not a Vampire I got to know.

Jasper was quite interesting. Rosalie’s story could have been longer. Jacob-kid irritates me because he is so hard, he has lost his warmth and sweetness from the first film.

Music in Eclipse was too ‘dingeli doo’ for me, too light – there was no energy like in the first one. I miss Catherine’s world, I must say.

Worst thing was when they replace Rachelle as the Victoria. That pussy cat acting Victoria now didn’t fit at all. She is a cute actress for some other space movie. As a Vampire she doesn’t convince anyone.

The story itself flowed okay, but it wasn’t an *experience* as the first Twilight was. I think male directors lack the emotional something, no matter if they are gay or heterosexual. It seems for me that the movies are getting duller and duller. Catherine’s sensitivity could reach so much more expression from the actors.
