“Daughter of Smoke and Bone” Giveaway!
Sep 28th, 2011 | By Krystal | Category: Book News, Contests, Featured ArticlesLaini Taylor’s highly-anticipated new novel, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, is now on sale (yay)! To celebrate the release of this amazing book (truly one of the best books I’ve read all year), we are giving away two copies over on BookshelfBanter.com, thanks to Little, Brown!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone has some amazingly cool and creative characters within its pages, and we thought it would be neat to honor these characters by getting creative ourselves. We’d like for you to create a fashion style board for one of the characters using Polyvore, and to get you started, Kallie, Stefanie, Kelly, and I (Krystal) have shared our own style boards to give you an idea of what we’re looking for.
To enter the contest and read the complete rules, head on over to our sister site, BookshelfBanter.com!
We look forward to seeing your style boards 😉
Book description from Goodreads:
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.
And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious “errands”; she speaks many languages–not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.
When one of the strangers–beautiful, haunted Akiva–fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?
